Ashcraft, Afton B. Turnbow
Afton B Turnbow Ashcraft 1922 ~ 2005 After a lifetime of loving service to her
family, Afton Ashcraft, 82, peacefully returned to her Heavenly Father June
19, 2005. Born Sept. 27, 1922 to Parley Nathaniel and Nina Pearl Turnbow, in
Hanna, Utah. She was the fifth of eight children. She served in the Northern
California Mission before marrying Loren William Ashcraft May 29, 1953 in the
Salt Lake Temple. Together, they served in the Mississippi Jackson Mission.
Her life was dedicated to her Heavenly Father and her family. She faithfully
served in many church callings. Her constant spirit of service blessed all who
knew her. She will always be cherished by her husband, Loren and their
children: Loren and Helen Ashcraft, Lynn and Kathy Ashcraft, Alona and Matthew
MacGregor, Alyna Ashcraft, Leon and Alece Ashcraft, 23 grandchildren, three
great-grandchildren, three living sisters: Edna Nichols, Bernice and Myron
White, Lila and Stephen White, In-laws: Standley Pickett, Jennette Turnbow,
Florence Turnbow, and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her
brothers and sisters: Burnell and Leo Turnbow, Bill Nichols, Verda Pickett and
Nina and Charles White. Funeral services will be held on Wed. June 22, 2005 at
11 a.m. at the Grandview Third Ward, 2851 So. 2000 E. Friends may call on
Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South
2300 East and again at the church on Wednesday morning from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45

Brimhall, Lillian
Lillian Brimhall "Love You Always" Lillian Elizabeth Brimhall, 85, of Sandy,
Utah, died of natural causes surrounded by her children on June 19, 2005. The
first of seven children born to Clarence H. Carter and Margaret Mae (Garfield)
Carter Nov. 28, 1919 in Lehi, Utah. Lillian grew up in Santaquin, Utah where
she met and then married Philip E. Brimhall on May 27, 1939. Their marriage
was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple May 27, 1977. She was a beloved wife,
mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She was preceded in death
by her husband, a granddaughter, brother and three sisters. Survived by her
four children, Wayne (Gloria) Brimhall, Brad Brimhall, Vicki (Marshall)
Poulsen, Dennis (Debbie) Brimhall and two sisters, Marjorie (Norm) Olsen and
JoAnn (Ray) Thomas. Lillian's legacy of love will continue on with her
numerous grandchildren and great-grand-children. Funeral services will be held
Thursday, June 23, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, Midvale.
The viewing will be held one hour prior to services. Interment, Spanish Fork
Cemetery.

Campbell, Pauline Geigle
Pauline Geigle Campbell "Mom" 2/26/11 ~ 6/18/05 Our wonderful sister, mother,
grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away at home on June
18, 2005. Born February 26, 1911 in McGrath Alberta, Canada, to Albert and
Anna Elizabeth Gunther Geigle, the first of six children. She married Vernon
S. Campbell on May 3, 1937 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She loved playing the
piano and organ, and gave lessons most of her life. She had the unique ability
to find beauty in everything, and was constantly commenting on what a
wonderful world we live in. She was active in the LDS Church, holding several
positions. She is survived by a brother, John (Evelyn) Geigle, sister Miriam
Brown, her son, Jon and extra special daughter-in-law, Marsha, four
grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and
cousins. Preceded in death by both parents, husband Vern, son, James Vernon
(Jimmy), a brother, Albert, sisters Anna and Elizabeth. Funeral services will
be held Thursday June 23, 2005 at 12 noon at the Belvedere Ward, 607 East
Downington. The family will receive friends at a viewing from 10:30-11:45 a.m.
at the church prior to services. Interment, Lake Hills Memorial Park, 10055

Clark, LeeAnne
LeeAnne Clark 1952 ~ 2005 LeeAnne, age 53, passed away June 19, 2005 in
Murray. She was born Feb. 16, 1952 in American Fork to Dan Warren and Evelyn
Gertrude Cunningham Clark. She grew up in Orem and served an LDS mission in
the California, San Jose Mission. She is survived by her mother, three
brothers and one sister and will be reunited with her father and a brother who
preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 22, 2005
at 11 a.m. in the Anderson & Sons Mortuary Chapel, 49 E 100 N, American Fork.
Friends may call from 9:45 to 10:45 am prior to the services. Interment in the
American Fork Cemetery.

Ferraro, Frank
Frank Ferraro 1931 ~ 2005 Frank Ferraro, age 73, was taken home June 17, 2005
after a five year battle with Alzheimer's disease. He was born in Murray, Utah
on November 27, 1931 to Vincenzo and Mary Ferraro. He married Joan Florence
Porter on May 9, 1951 and the marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake
LDS Temple on August 23, 1994. Frank served his country during the Korean
conflict in the U.S. Navy on the ship U.S.S. Nereus, serving from 1951 to
1955. He retired from Hill Air Force Base after thirty years of dedicated
service. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints, and held the office of High Priest. He was a devoted husband, father,
grandfather and friend. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, who stood by
him faithfully, tending and caring for him during his long illness. He is also
survived by six children, Daniel (Sandy), David, Mark, Steven (Melinda), James
(Terri), and Christine Marchant (Dell); 12 grandchildren; and one
great-grandchild; three sisters, Esther Anselmo, Marie Martinez and Linda
Smith; and two brothers, Tony Ferraro and Gino Zupo. Preceded in death by his
parents and son John Andrew Ferraro. Funeral services will be held on
Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at 12:00 noon at the Bountiful 17th LDS Ward Chapel,
2200 South 600 East, Bountiful, Utah, where friends may call from 10:30 -

Franz, Carol Jean Nielsen
Carol Jean Nielsen Franz 1937 ~ 2005 Carol Jean Nielsen Franz of Walnut Creek,
California passed away June 18, 2005 in Salt Lake City. Carol was born to
Kenneth M. Nielsen and Izetta Frost in Rock Springs, Wyoming, September 21,
1937. As a small child her family moved to San Francisco, California, where
she grew up and graduated from Lincoln High School. After attending Brigham
Young University for two years she transferred to the University of
California, Berkeley, where she earned her BS Degree in Medical Technology and
was employed in this field. She married John B. Franz, May 22, 1961, in the
Salt Lake LDS Temple. Carol was a stay at home Mom until the nest became
empty. She was a whiz with numbers, which she applied to family accounting,
finance, and her husband's dental practice. She enjoyed crafts, sewing,
quilting, and painted in a number mediums, loved live drama and musical
theater, and was a world traveler. Later in life she became a serious student
of early LDS Church History, prowling bookshops, libraries, and putting out
calls for old source material. When life became too busy, she sought out the
solitude of the mountains and occasionally waded mountain streams with a fly
rod. She leaves behind her husband, and three children: Karen (Norfolk, VA),
John David (Pleasanton, CA), and Robert, (Herriman, UT). Carol is survived by
her father and preceded in death by her mother. Appreciation is expressed to
the University of California, San Francisco, Memory and Aging Center for
diagnostic services, and to Garden Terrace of Salt Lake City for Carol's care
during her obscure, debilitating disease known as Frontotemporal Dementia
(FTD). Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center Street,
Wednesday evening, June 22, 2005, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. A viewing will also
be held at the Oak Park Hills Chapel in Walnut Creek, California, on Friday

Hancock, Dorothy Cook
Dorothy Cook Hancock 1935 ~ 2005 Dorothy Marlene Hancock died June 18, 2005
following a long struggle with a progressive palsy. She was born June 16, 1935
in Orem, Utah, the daughter of Kenneth Sherman and Ida Cook. She attended
elementary school in Orem and graduated from Lincoln High School. She married
Jack MacDonald and they had three daughters and a son. Later divorced. She
married John Hancock and they lived in many places as he moved with his
assignments in the military. He died of cancer in 1990. She was later sealed
to him in the Jordan River Temple. She loved traveling, reading, embroidery
and crafts and her dogs. She and her good friend Charlotte Zahn took many
trips together to visit Charlotte's relatives and scenic areas in the western
states. Their friendship grew until Charlotte and her family became a second
family. She was active in the LDS church and held positions including visiting
teaching supervisor and secretary to both Sunday School and Relief Society.
She also did extraction work for the Church genealogy program. Dorothy is
survived by two daughters, Cindy (Ralph) Moss, Jubilee McBride, and a son
James (Janeen) MacDonald, three brothers, K. Stanley (Maxine) Cook, Sterling
L. (Sharon) Cook and Ronald A (Kathryn) Cook, seven grandchildren and two
great- grandchildren. A daughter, Lisa, preceded her in death. Funeral
services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at the
Winchester Ward, 6300 So. 700 W., Murray, Utah. There will be a viewing at the
Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State St. on Tuesday from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.
and at the church on Wednesday from 10 - 10:45 a.m. Interment Murray City
Cemetery.

Havrilo, Steve J.
Steve J. Havrilo 1912 ~ 2005 Steve J. Havrilo, the most gentle, kind and
loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away June 18, 2005 at St.
Marks Hospital from complications following surgery. Steve was born on
September 20, 1912 in Gunn, Wyoming to Stephen Havrilo and Magdelina Gall
Havrilo. He was one of seven children. Steve married his sweetheart Marion
Morrow on September 20, 1935. From that union they were blessed with two
special sons, Stephen William and Larry D. Mom and Dad would have celebrated
their 70th wedding anniversary and Dad's 93rd birthday this year. Steve worked
in the Union Pacific Coal Mine in Rock Springs, Wyoming and later for Safeway
Stores. The family moved from Rock Springs to Magna and then to Salt Lake
City. He was a life-time member of the Elks Lodge in Rock Springs and Salt
Lake City. No one loved life more than Dad. He was passionate about his
beautiful yard and flower garden. Dad had the ability to fix anything and
everything. He was a devout member of St. James Episcopal Church. Dad will be
deeply missed by his loving and compassionate wife, Marion, son Stephen
(Norma), Murray, UT; son Larry, Panama City, Panama; grandson Stephen Scott,
Taylorsville, UT; two step grandchildren Todd Cowles and Lisa Ward; also many
dear friends and members of St. James Episcopal Church. He is survived by his
sister Elizabeth McCrann, Green River, WY; caring nieces Mary Ann Mivshek and
Helen Beck. Preceded in death by his parents, brothers John, Andrew, Mike;
sisters Helen Stefoin and Mauveen Williams. A special thanks to Dr. Steve
Aslami for his tender care, and all the special nurses on 3 West, who
affectionately called our dad "Mr. Smiley". "Any man can be a father, it takes
someone special to be a dad". Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June
22, at 12:00 noon at St. James Episcopal Church, 7486 South Union Park Ave. In

McIntyre, Lovern Kimball
Lovern Kimball McIntyre 1928 ~ 2005 SANDY, UT - Lovern Kimball McIntyre, 77,
our loving mother and grandmother, returned peacefully to her Father in
Heaven, surrounded by her family and loved ones, June 18, 2005. She will be
greatly missed by all who new her. Lovern was born February 2, 1928 in Salt
Lake City, Utah to Lavon Quince Kimball and Tabitha Adair. She has been
happily married to William Arthur McIntyre for 57 years and on January 8, 1951
their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. As a strong and
faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Lovern had
many callings and particularly enjoyed those within the Primary organization.
She also served a stake mission. She is a member of the Daughters of the Utah
Pioneers and is a great great-grand-daughter of Heber C. Kimball. As a child,
Lovern and her parents moved to Sacramento, California where she resided until
1965, when she moved to Visalia, California. In 2002, she moved back to Salt
Lake City, Utah so her daughter, Sharon could help take care of her at Atria
Assisted Living Community. She was a stay-at-home mom as her children were the
most important thing in her life, but in her later years worked in real
estate. Lovern is survived by her husband, William Arthur McIntyre, Sandy,
Utah; children, Sharon C. (Jeff) Baty, Sandy, Utah, Leesa (Chris) Wessell,
Visalia, CA, William A. McIntyre, Jr. (Rika), Tokyo, Japan, Janice (Jeff)
Andrada, Visalia, CA; 16 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. We want
to extend special thanks to Atria Assisted Living Community, and to Sandy
Regional Health Center, and Norma Bird for all their love, kindness and care
they have given to our mother. Funeral services will be held Wed-nesday, June
22, 2005, 11 a.m. Lakeview Memorial Mortuary, 1640 East Lakeview Drive,

Nelson, Nedra Bullock
Nedra Bullock Nelson "Granny" Nedra Bullock Nelson passed away peacefully
Sunday, June 19, 2005. She was born December 4, 1918 in Cedar City, Utah to
James and Ida Crosby Bullock. Married Glen Edward Nelson June 6, 1938 in
Delta, Utah; later sealed in the temple. She retired from First Security Bank
where she had many dear friends. She loved her family and friends and in
return was loved by all. Her personality kept people laughing until the very
end. She was preceded in death by her husband; two children: James Edward
Nelson and Kathryn Diane (Tom) Connelley; and two sisters. Survived by five
grandchildren: Rick Connelley, Cinzia Nelson, Patsy (Bruce) Hall, Shane
Connelley, Misti (Jeff) Groll; 12 great-grandchildren. The family would like
to extend a special thanks to Care Source, the staff at Legacy Assisted
Living, and Crosslands Rehabilitation Center. You are invited to a celebration
of her life to be held Wednesday, 11:00 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330

Pett, Ethelyn Cannon
Ethelyn Cannon Pett 1907 ~ 2005 After a life richly lived nearly a century,
Ethelyn Cannon Pett, 97, died June 16, 2005, in Salt Lake City. Ethelyn "Et"
Cannon Pett was born December 12, 1907, in Salt Lake City, to Caroline Young
Croxall Cannon and Willard Telle Cannon, and was granddaughter of George Q.
Cannon and great-granddaughter of Brigham Young. She attended LDS High School,
East High School, the University of Utah, and the University of California at
Berkeley, from which she graduated with a degree in Economics. She married
James Arthur Pett, Sr., August 20, 1934. Et was a very social person who loved
parties, "a friend of fun," as well as someone who regularly attended Utah
Symphony concerts, chamber music concerts, art exhibits, and the opera; and
read widely. Her travels took her to Mexico, Europe, Egypt, Japan, China, and
Thailand. She was a commanding presence at the bridge table. She skied, played
tennis, and especially enjoyed golf. Her family often heard her tickling "Tea
for Two" on the piano and her homes reflected her good taste and interest in
interior decoration. A member of the Town Club, the Salt Lake Country Club,
the Junior League, and a study club which met regularly for decades, Et also
volunteered at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts, Holy Cross Hospital, and then the
University of Utah Medical Center into her eighties. Predeceased by her
husband and all six of her brothers and sisters, Ethelyn is survived by her
children, James Arthur Pett, Jr. (Marjorie), Jane Semmel (Kenneth, deceased),
Stephen Willard Pett (Clare Cardinal), and eight flawless grandchildren. The
family wishes to thank Karen Hodgsen and the staff of Brighton Gardens of Salt
Lake City for devoted care in recent years. Friends and family are invited to
a memorial observance at the Town Club, 1081 East South Temple, Saturday, June
25, at 11:00 a.m. Ethelyn Cannon Pett will be interred in the Salt Lake City
cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested, to the
Utah Museum of Fine Arts or the University of Utah Medical Center.

Price, William
William Price 1925 ~ 2005 William Price died in a tragic accident on I-80,
June 18, 2005. Born in May of 1925 in Heber, Utah to Ezra and Beatrice Price.
He was raised by his widowed mother in Clover, Tooele and Park City, Utah.
Spent his summers with the Fred Price family in Paris, Idaho. He graduated
from Park City High School, served in World War II as a gunner on a B-24 and
graduated from Utah State Agriculture College in Forestry. Married ReNee Price
in the Salt Lake Temple. They were parents of Thomas (Barbara), Susan Adams,
Cheryl (Jay) Stocks and Robert (Connie). He worked at Geneva Steel and for the
US Forest Service as a District Forest Ranger until his retirement. He enjoyed
his friends at Little America and associates at retired forestry meetings. He
loved traveling and the natural beauties of the land and mountains. He is
survived by his children; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grand-children; and many
friends. Preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Robert Price.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 1:30 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home,
4330 South Redwood Road where family and friends may visit Wednesday, 12-1:15
p.m. Interment, Provo City Cemetery.

Skanchy, Wray Mason
Wray Mason Skanchy 10/27/32 ~ 6/14/05 Wray Mason Skanchy died prior to heart
surgery in the Salt Lake City Veterans Hospital June 14, 2005. He was born
October 27, 1932 the son of W. Leland Skanchy and Veda Mason Skanchy in Ogden,
Utah. He later moved to Salt Lake City with his mother. He attended East High
School and later Utah State College and the University of Utah before serving
for two years with the United States Army in the Korean War while stationed in
Germany. On January 7, 1961 he married Delma Marie Willoughby and adored her
seven year old daughter, Angela. They were later divorced. He is survived by
his former wife, Delma Skanchy; daughter, Angela Waagen (Kim); and two
grandchildren, Aaron A. Waagen and Terrijeanne M. Waagen. He was later married
and sealed in the Salt Lake Temple to Malissa Talmage Rowland June 22, 1994.
They were later divorced. Wray was an active member of the Salt Lake and East
Millcreek Jaycee organization as a young man and was employed by Tuttle
Realtors at the time of his marriage. He also served as the executive
secretary of the Salt Lake Junior Chamber of Commerce. He was then employed by
the Utah State Liquor Commission for 10 years before launching his own
business, First American Flag Distributing, which he continued until his
death. He was an active member of the LDS faith, having served as a temple
worker for several years. He served for the last year and a half in the High
Priest Group leadership of the Eldredge Ward. Funeral services will be held
Wed-nesday, 1 p.m. at the Eldredge Ward Chapel, 601 East Mansfield Avenue
(3115 So.), Salt Lake City. Friends may attend a viewing at the ward from
11:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m. prior to the service. Interment, Willard City Cemetery.

Thomas, Joshua A.
Joshua A. Thomas "Big Heart" Joshua Allen Thomas, 20, passed away June 18,
2005. Born March 31, 1985 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, son of Michael Ortega
and Kimberly Ann Thomas. Survived by son, Ethan Jakob Thomas; fianc ,
Katherine Kalmar; mother; grandparents: Terry and Mary Thomas; brother,
Jeffrey R. Packer; sister, Brianna Packer; uncle, Jerry Thomas; many other
aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceded in death by uncle, Jeff Thomas; aunt,
Tammy Thomas. He was a wonderful father and was loved so much by everyone
around him. We will miss him more than words can say. Funeral services will be
held Thursday, 12 noon at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where
family and friends may visit Wednesday, 6-8 p.m. and Thursday, 11-11:45 a.m.
prior to services. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.

Wadley, Nelda Beckstrand
Nelda Beckstrand Wadley 1918 ~ 2005 Nelda Beckstrand Wadley died June 16, 2005
at her home. She was born November 19, 1918 in Meadow, Utah, the daughter of
Joseph Clifton and Laura Swallow Beckstrand, and spent her growing up years
working on the family farm. She married Alexander Wadley on January 5, 1944 in
the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Upon completing her schooling she worked for the
U.S. Farm Security Administration, and after raising her children she was the
librarian at Grovecrest Elementary for 13 years. Nelda loved her family above
all, and spent her life in love and hard work for us. We loved her delicious
meals and the books she read to us. She taught us to love flowers, beautiful
music, and art, and she effectively transmitted her great love of learning to
all her descendants. She loved the Lord and was a faithful member of the LDS
church, serving well in many assignments, including Gospel Doctrine teacher.
Survivors are her husband, Alexander, daughters, Mary Jackson (Richard), Laura
Wadley, LaRayne Hart (David), and sons, Stephen A. Wadley (Mindy), and James
N. Wadley, nine grandchildren, 13 great-grand-children, a sister, Thressa
Knoell, and a brother, Therald Beckstrand. In order to allow faraway family
members to attend, funeral services will be delayed until Friday, June 24,
2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the North Field Third Ward chapel, 2155 North 100 East,
Pleasant Grove. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00
p.m. and one hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers those who wish may

Woolstenhulme, Dutch
Dutch Woolstenhulme 1934 ~ 2005 OAKLEY- Wendell "Dutch" Woolstenhulme, 70,
died June 19, 2005 in the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born on
October 8, 1934 in Oakley, Utah, the son of Wallace Elmo and Eva Lorraine
(Hortin) Woolstenhulme. He married Arla Maxine Clark on October 24, 1953 in
Oakley, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on Nov. 5,
1954. He owned and operated Dutch's service with his son Tim for many years.
Dutch loved farming and ranching, good horses, and rodeo. He is survived by
his sons, Kendell "Tiny" (Shauna), and Tim (Julie), both of Oakley; daughters,
Jackie (John) Blazzard, Kamas, and Janet (Tim) Atkinson, Francis; also a
daughter-in-law, Jill Houston, Francis; 13 grandchildren and 11
great-grandchildren; brothers, Ken (Karen), Paul (Kaye), both Oakley; David
"Pudge" (Susie), Salt Lake City; Darwin "Doc" (Beulah), Dick (Charlotte),
sister, Phyllis Page, and sister-in-law, Shirley, all of Oakley;
brothers-in-law, Murlin Van Tassell, Kamas, and John Lancaster, Salt Lake
City. He is preceded in death by his son, Wendell, "Shorty"; parents; sisters,
Gwen Van Tassell, and Ann Lancaster; brothers, Keith "Mud", and Jack; and
brother-in-law, Koy Page. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 23,
2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the LDS Stake Center in Marion, Utah. Friends may call
at the church on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday one hour
prior to the service. Interment will be in the Oakley Cemetery under the
direction of the Crandall Funeral Home, Kamas, UT.
