Bodell, Kay Lister
Kay Lister Bodell 1937 ~ 2005 Kay Lister Bodell, our sweet and fun loving mom,
grandma and sister, passed away peacefully February 28, 2005, after struggling
with Parkinson's Disease for the last 10 years. She was born November 5, 1937
in Cedar City, Utah to Claire and Virginia Benson Lister. Kay married Farrel
Robb in Parowan, Utah on October 12, 1957. They were divorced in 1972. Kay
married Sherm Bodell. They were later divorced in 1977. Kay worked as a
bookkeeper and enjoyed many hobbies, including playing cards, picking any and
all flowers she adored and taking photos. The light of her life was her
grandchildren and their activities. Survivors: children, Michael (Shawna)
Robb, Nacole (Bill) Floor, Rachele (Dee) Davis; grandchildren, Jayci, Karsyn,
Alex, Nathan, Joshua, Larissa, Shantele and Ian; sister, Joann Lavern;
brother, Rodney Lister. Preceded in death by parents; brother, Evan Lister.
Graveside services will be held Friday, March 4, 2005, at 1:00 p.m. in the
Parowan Utah City Cemetery. A viewing and visitation for friends and family
will be held Thursday, March 3, 2005, at the Goff Mortuary 8090 So. State,
Midvale, Utah from 6-8 p.m. An additional viewing will be held in Parowan at
the Parowan 3rd and 4th LDS Ward Chapel, 90 So. Main, from 12 Noon to 1:00
p.m.

Buchanan, Donald R.
Donald R. Buchanan 1908 ~ 2005 GUNNISON, UTAH- Our beloved husband, father,
grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, Donald R. Buchanan, 96, of
Gunnison, Utah, returned to the loving arms of his Heavenly Father February
26, 2005, in Gunnison. Don was born December 6, 1908, in Manti, Utah, to
Raphael Simms and Margret May Braithwaite Buchanan. He made his home in the
Gunnison Valley from the time his family moved to Centerfield in 1918. He
married Julia Modeen on June 23, 1937 in the Manti LDS Temple. Don loved
Gunnison Valley. It was his favorite place to be. He loved to plant a garden
and raised his own vegetables every summer. He was a prominent businessman and
owned the Gunnison drug store for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting,
bowling and especially golf. He was dearly loved by his family and will be
deeply missed. He is survived by his wife, Julia; daughter, JuLynne Buchanan,
Salt Lake City; son, Scott (Brenda) Buchanan, Salt Lake City; grandsons,
Jeremy Buchanan and Shaun (Lisa) Buchanan, Salt Lake City; three
great-grandchildren; sister, Twyla Jensen, Gunnison; and a brother, Ray
Buchanan, Casper, WY. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers,
Lenard, Eldred, Earl, Glenn and Jack; sisters, Zelma Buchanan and Surelda
Riches. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 4, 2005 at 12 Noon in the
Gunnison 2nd Ward LDS Chapel. Friends may call at the ward chapel in Gunnison
on Thurs. evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and again at the ward chapel on Friday
morning from 10:30 to 11:30. Burial will be in the Gunnison City Cemetery.

Childers, Danny
Danny Childers "Rebel Dan" Danny Ernest Childers returned home to our Heavenly
Father February 26, 2005 from complications following surgery. He was born to
John and Janean Childers on October 27, 1967 in SLC, UT. Danny was a member of
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he currently served as
1st counselor in the Elders Quorum. He married his best friend in October 1989
and was later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He is survived by his loving
wife Lisa (Holbrook) Childers, his adoring children; Cendra (Ty), Lindsey,
Saydee, Sydni, Dakota and Kennedie. His parents John and Janean Childers,
sister Tonya (Gary) Okumura. Preceded in death by his sister Vicki Eddy. A
viewing will be held Wed. March 2, 2005 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Broomhead
Funeral Home 12600 South 2200 West Riverton, Utah. Funeral services will be
held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday March 3, 2005 at Bluffdale 4th Ward Chapel
14400 South 1700 West. A viewing will be held one hour prior to service.

Conklin, Lesley Marie Gardner Wickham
Lesley Marie Gardner Wickham Conklin 1925 ~ 2005 Lesley was born December 15,
1925 in Teton City, Idaho to Lesley Albert Gardner and Florence Marie Beesley.
She died February 26, 2005 with members of her family at her side. She married
Ronald Clinton Wickham on February 9, 1945. Their marriage was solemnized in
the Idaho Falls Temple on August 29, 1962. He preceded her in death on
November 22, 1974. She married Bert Conklin April 16, 1976. He preceded in her
death on January 12, 1996. She loved her family, gardening, traveling,
reading, learning and missionary work. She was firm in her testimony of the
Savior and was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints. Lesley is survived by four daughters, Anna Marie (Roger) Pickett,
Priscilla (Frank) Davis, Jan Shreeve, and Julie (Lorin) John, 15 living
grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. One grandson preceded her in
death. She leaves behind a great legacy of honesty, integrity, friendship and
service. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 4, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. in
the Suncrest 2nd Ward Chapel, 400 West 140 North, Orem. Family and friends may
call from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Interment will
be in the Teton City Cemetery in Teton City, Idaho.

Crossman, Ralph
Lt. Col Ralph Barrett Crossman (USMC Ret.) 12/26/1920~2/28/2005 Ralph Barrett
Crossman passed away on February 28, 2005 at the Utah State Veterans Nursing
Home. He was born December 26, 1920 in Upland, California to Ralph and Lucille
Zander Crossman. Married Elaine Thelma Cone in 1944. They had three children
Ralph, John and Susan. Elaine passed away in 1973. Married Patricia Maree
Casper in 1976 at Camp Pendleton, California. Joined the US Marine Corps
Reserves in 1938. Called to active duty December 7, 1941 and served in three
wars: World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He retired in 1967. He held an Extra
Class Amateur Radio Licence with call sign K6HAV. He was a member of the
Capitol Hill Kiwanis Club. He is survived by his wife Patricia, son Ralph
Barrett Crossman II; three granddaughters: Charif Dianne Martin (Fred), Elaine
Jovann Crossman and Samantha Ilea Crossman; three great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by son John Douglas Crossman and infant daughter Susan
Taylor Crossman. Also survived by step daughters: Catherine Lynn Waddill
(Alfred) and Nancy Jean Kendall (Robert); step grandchildren: Eli Waddill,
Erin Norton (Neil), Lisa and Michael Kendall, and Brian Gassner. Funeral
services will be held Thursday, March 3, 2005 at 1:00 p.m., Capitol Hill 2nd
Ward, 413 N. West Capitol St. Viewing will be held Wed., March 2 from 6-8 p.m.
Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple. Interment Salt Lake City Cemetery. The

Dransfield, Frank Ronald
Frank Ronald Dransfield 1917 ~ 2005 Ron Dransfield died February 26, 2005. He
was a kind and gentle man with a delightful sense of humor. Born Feb. 1, 1917
to Albert and Pearl Russon Dransfield. He married Norma Mason in the Salt Lake
Temple. Ron loved the outdoors and everything associated, and was fond of all
animals and God's creations. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda
Kay and siblings Melvin, Melba, and Ken. He is survived by his wife and loving
companion of 63 years, his brother, Howard, children Steve (Elaine), CarolAnn,
Roger (Jennie), Paul, Craig (Dianne), and Debbie (Bruce), 23 grandchildren,
and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Friday, March 4, 2005
at 2:00 p.m. at Leavitt's Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden. A viewing will be
held Thursday, March 3 from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the services at
the mortuary.

Eales, Harry and Mary
Harry & Mary Eales "Together Forever" Our parents, grandparents, aunt, uncle
and friends made their journey back to our Heavenly Father on February 26,
2005 and February 28, 2005, respectively. Harry was born to Thomas and Ruby
Eales in Tulsa, OK on November 1, 1921. He lived most of his life in Wichita,
KS. Harry was always sharing his contagious sense of humor with everyone he
met. He always had a story, a joke or something funny in his pocket. His
family was the most important thing in his life. He loved each and everyone.
Mary was born to Earl and Clara Weatherford in Watkinsville, GA on January 30,
1922. After the death of her mother, Mary was raised by her father and
stepmother, Ada Elizabeth Smith Weatherford, whom she loved so very much. She
lived in Georgia until she was in her twenties when she found her way to
Kansas. It was in Wichita that she met Harry, and they were married on July
27, 1956, and were later sealed for time and all eternity in the LDS Salt Lake
Temple. Mary had an unforgettable smile. She loved everyone she met. She was
always looking for ways to help someone else. She was devoted to her family,
and treasured every moment she had with them. Harry and Mary made their family
home in Wichita, KS until 1998, when they came to live near their children in
Utah. They worked and played for 48 years together here with us, and now they
are continuing their life together beyond. We will miss them so very dearly.
Harry and Mary are survived by their children: Earl Rucker of Salt Lake City;
and Teresa (Donald) Phillips of Riverton; Harry's sister, Barbara Gordon, La
Junta, CO; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Eales, Bella Vista, AR; Maxine Eales,
Wichita, KS; and Evelyn Weatherford, Gainesville, GA. 12 nieces and nephews.
They were blessed with grandchildren: Tiffany (Cody) Hansen, Samuel James,
Christian James, Kate James and Christi Ann Rucker; three
great-grand-children: Lacie, Zackery and Cody James. Funeral Services will be
held on Friday, March 4, 2005 at 12 p.m., Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South
Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah. Viewing will be held from 10:30-11:45 a.m. the
day of the services. Harry and Mary will be laid to rest at Resthaven Garden
of Memory in Wichita, KS.

Fonger, Elizabeth Evans "Beth"
Elizabeth "Beth" Evans Fonger, age 93, passed away February 25, 2005 in Salt
Lake City. Born December 14, 1911 in Hunter, a daughter of Thomas Jones and
Maud Wolstenholme Evans; she was the middle of seven children. Married Fred
Richard Fonger September 24, 1938 in Kaysville; he died May 8, 1994. Their
marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Beth was an active
member of the LDS Church, where she served as a temple worker at the South
Jordan LDS Temple. She was a proud Democrat and worked for many years in the
Salt Lake Democratic Central Committee. Employed by Salt Lake County to head
the Indigent Burial Program. She was a member of the Board of Directors of the
Utah State Training School and Utah Mental Retardation. Member of the DUP for
many years. Beth enjoyed her work as a 4-H teacher; cooking was one of her
favorites. You could often find her sitting out on the lawn during summer
months. In earlier years, Beth was chosen Miss Hunter and took 1st place in
violin competition. In 9th grade, she was asked to sing with her high school
senior class at a special vocal competition at the University of Utah.
Survived by children, Kathleen (Jay) Christopher, West Valley City, Richard
(Shirley) Fonger, Ruth, NV, Robert (Denise) Fonger, Murray, Floyd Fonger,
Provo; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brother, Rawlin J Evans. One
great great-grandchild is on the way. Preceded in death by her husband; son,
Fred Raymond Fonger; sisters, Inez Doxey, Reta Day, and Murile Walk Haskel;
brothers, Ed Evans and Lee Evans. Funeral services will be held Thursday, 11
a.m. at Hunter 3rd Ward, 3737 South 5600 West. Friends and family may visit
Wednesday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, and
Thursday at the church, 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Elysian Burial Gardens.

Gerstman, Mary Margaret
1919 ~ 2005 Mary Margaret Gerstman, wife of the late Alford William Gerstman,
died Thursday, Feb. 24th at 9:26 a.m. She is survived by her two daughters,
Judy Gerstman Varga and Linda Gerstman. She was born March 2, 1919 in Suring,
Wisconsin and was one of six children of Charles and Francis Stix. She served
as a wave in the U. S. Navy. She was a Girl Scout leader, a Cub Scout den
mother, and she also taught Sunday School. She was a member of The Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was an active participant in the
activities at the local senior citizens center. She was a wonderful dedicated
mother and had many friends. Funeral service will be held Friday 10:00 a.m.
March 4, 2005 at Holladay Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 Highland Drive. Friends
and family may call one hour prior to services. Interment in Milford, Ohio.

Hedin, Kenneth Weland
Kenneth Weyland Hedin 1928 ~ 2005 On Sunday, February 27, 2005, one of the
Lord's noble and stalwart sons was called home after enduring 15 months of
pancreatic cancer. Husband, father, grandpa, brother and friend, he will be
deeply missed. We are comforted that he is now in the presence of our Savior
and will be able to do what he has always loved doing which is serving others.
Truly of him it can be said, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant." We
have the sure knowledge that death is not the end and this period of
separation is only temporary. Born March 30, 1928, to Wilhelm Gabriel Hedin
and Mary Augusta Linnea Weijland in Salt Lake City, Utah. A graduate of South
High School, he served an LDS mission to his ancestral homeland of Sweden.
Married Jeanine Eleanor Bailey in the Salt Lake Temple on June 9, 1951. After
graduating from the University of Utah, he proudly served his country in the
Korean War as a military policeman. His love of children was evident while
teaching school in the Granite School District for 33 years. He was loved and
respected by students and faculty alike. He was also employed 60 years at the
Deseret News and the Newspaper Agency Corporation. He had a strong, valiant
testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and held many Church callings in the
Salt Lake Grant Stake including Bishop twice, Stake High Councilor, Stake
Mission President, Stake Executive Secretary, High Priest Group Leader and
dedicated temple worker. He was a friend to all he met and beloved by all who
knew him. Dad was a loving husband and a devoted father, and was so proud of
his family. He cherished spending time with them, such as camping in Southern
Utah, target shooting, boating at Pineview and Lake Powell, relaxing at his
cabin at Bear Lake, and ocean vacations to Bandon-by-the-Sea. His jovial
laughter, fun yodel call, and good humor made every event memorable. Preceded
in death by his parents. Survived by wife Jeanine, children Kenneth B., Kerry
C. (Michele), Elisa (Brady) Sines, and Kevin B. (Debra). His deepest joy was
his 14 grandchildren: Cory, Eric, Terra (David) Shepard, Ammon (currently
serving an LDS mission in Uruguay), Austin, Taylie, Brendan, Emelia, Noble,
Logan, Adam, Megan, Noah and Jonas. Also survived by his brother Roy
(Delores), and sisters Margaret (Robert) Taylor, Carolyn (Mark) Baird, and
many nieces, nephews and cousins. Our family wishes to express sincere thanks
to CareSource Hospice for their excellent care and friendship for our Dad.

Thursday, March 3, 2005 at 12:00 Noon in the Springview Ward, located 3153 S.
900 E. A viewing will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at the Larkin Mortuary,
260 East South Temple from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at the Springview Ward from
10:00-11:30 a.m. prior to service. Interment at Larkin Sunset Memorial Gardens
located at 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, Utah. In lieu of flowers the family

Jones, Mary Ella Evans
1925 ~ 2005 Mary Ella Evans Jones passed away peacefully on February 28, 2005
after a long illness. Mary Ella was born December 5, 1925 in Centerville, Utah
to Horton Haight and Ella Amelia Croft Evans. She spent a happy, barefoot
childhood in Centerville always looking for a neighborhood ball game, a tennis
match or riding her bicycle. She graduated from Davis High School in 1944, and
then attended the University of Utah, graduating in 1948 with a degree in Home
Economics. While at the University, she affiliated with the Chi Omega
Sorority, developing many life long friendships. After graduation, she served
an LDS Mission to France and then taught school in Southern California. Mary
Ella married Maurice Dean Jones, September 18, 1957, in the Salt Lake Temple.
She immediately became the mother of three small children and thereafter four
more children were born into her wonderful family. Mary Ella was an active
member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and fulfilled many
callings. Her last calling was as an extraction worker which she thoroughly
enjoyed. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, Ex
Libris Literary Club and many quilting groups. She also worked for many years
at the Arents clothing store. Mary Ella enjoyed all sports, but was most
devoted to tennis, U of U athletics and the Utah Jazz. She was a competitive
tennis player, participating in the Desert News and Huntsman Senior Games on a
regular basis. She also treasured her time with her sister, Mae Ellison, and
Mae's family at the Spanish Ranch in Tuscarora, NV. Mary Ella loved taking her
children to the Spanish Ranch where they learned the value of work during the
summer haying seasons. Mary Ella is survived by her husband, Maurice, brother
Bill Evans (Grace), daughters Margo Brady (Bill), Annette Swenson (Richard),
Mary Baumann (Erik) and sons Jeff (Susan), Grant (Jane), Dan (Pat) and Justin
(Heather) along with 25 grandchildren and seven great-grand-children. Funeral
services will be held Friday, March 4, 2005 at 12 noon at the Monument Park
Stake Center, 1300 South and Wasatch Boulevard in Salt Lake City. A viewing
will be held on Thursday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Wasatch Lawn
Memorial Park, 3401 Highland Drive and again Friday morning from 10:00 -11:30
a.m. prior to the funeral services. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial
Park. Mom was a great wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend and
will be dearly missed. Her family expresses sincere thanks to all those who
were so supportive during the last few years, in addition to staff at LDS
Hospital, St. Joseph Villa and CareSource.

Labbe, Joseph M.
"Our Little Angel" Joseph Matthew Labbe, our little angel, was called home
February 28, 2005. He was born August 4, 2002 in Salt Lake City to David
Richard and Stacy Lynn Statler Labbe. He is survived by his mother and father,
grandparents -- Patrick Labbe of Summerville, South Carolina; Pauline Allard
of Florence, South Carolina; and Ora and Sheila Statler of Caldwell, Idaho.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 3, 2005 at 6:00 p.m. in the
Harvard Ward Chapel (700 South 500 East) where friends may call one hour prior

Larsen, LaVerd
1918 ~ 2005 GUNNISON, UT - LaVerd Griffin Larsen passed away peacefully
February 26, 2005, in Salt Lake City. LaVerd was born January 8, 1918, in
Escalante, Utah, daughter of J. Edgar Griffin and Laura M. (Dolly) Lay. She
was raised by her aunt, Nethella K. Griffin. She went to schools in Escalante
and graduated from Bear River High School, Garland. LaVerd married Howard R.
Larsen, September, 1935, in Panguitch. They lived in Salt Lake City, Mayfield,
and finally settled in Gunnison. She was an original member of the Literary
Club and loved her home and garden. LaVerd is survived by two daughters, Lois
Ann Hubbard, Salt Lake City and Alayne L. Peterson, Washington D.C., four
grandsons, John M. Hubbard (Brenda), Alan G. Peterson (Jodi), Brady H.
Peterson (Rebecca), Drew G. Peterson, and five great-grandchildren.
Celebration of LaVerd's life will be held at the family home in Salt Lake City
at 1615 Millcreek Way, Tuesday, March 1st, 7 - 9 pm. Graveside service will be
at Mayfield City Cemetery, Wednesday, March 2nd at 12 noon. Funeral directors,
Larkin Mortuary.

'Ana T. Langi Moleni We will forever love you! Our beloved mother,
grandmother, and best friend, 'Ana Tekiata Langi Moleni, 91, died Feb. 26,
2005 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Born May 13, 1913 in Falehau, Niuatoputapu,
Tonga to Penisimani Langi and 'Amelia Lolohea Tukuafu. Married 'Alipate
Measi'i Moleni in 1934 in Niuatoputapu, Tonga; later sealed on Nov. 16, 1961
in the Hamilton, New Zealand Temple. Survived by daughters, 'Ala (Vilipele)
Folau, Uini (late 'Asaeli) 'Iloa, late Taiana (Palei) Moeaki; sons, Siaosi
(late Ana; Fetutuki), Fisi (Liahona), and Paelata (Debbie); 37 grandchildren
and 51 great-grand-children. Preceded in death by parents; all siblings; four
daughters and two sons. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 5, 2005,
10:00 a.m. at the Parkview Wardhouse, 1172 S. Glendale Rd. Viewing will be
held Friday, March 4, 2005 from 7-11 p.m. at the Kearns Utah Stake Center,
5215 S. 4260 W. Interment, Redwood Memorial Cemetery.

Bertha May Phillips Murray 12/13/21 ~ 2/28/05 Bertha May Phillips Murray, age
83, of Salt Lake City, UT, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 28,
2005. Bert was born December 13, 1921 in Salt Lake City, UT, to Willis and
Alice Phillips. She married Donald R. Murray on July 19, 1941. Bert is
survived by her sons, D. Ross (Linda) Murray, Salt Lake City, UT and Patrick
P. (Kathryn) Murray of Clearfield, UT; her brother, Marvin (Peggy) Phillips of
Salt Lake City, UT; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grand-children. Preceded in
death by her husband, and her parents. Funeral services for Bert will be held
on Friday, March 4, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at the Valley View 2nd Ward, 4395 So.
Albright Drive (2145 East), Salt Lake City, UT. Friends may call on Thursday

Nielson, Louise Brady
Louise Brady Nielson 1911 ~ 2005 Louise Nielson, good wife, good mother and
good friend, departed this life on Sunday, February 27, 2005. She will be
greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Louise was born December 15,
1911 to William Wells and Anna Lindquist Brady in Fairview, Utah. She attended
school in Fairview, Magna, Castle Dale, and later went to Brigham Young
University. She met her husband, Merrill Nielson at the "Y" and they were
married in 1932. They lived in Salina, Utah for 28 years and owned and
operated a clothing store and an apartment building. Louise also found time to
be active in the LDS church and worked in the MIA, Relief Society, Primary and
Sunday School program. Also, she was active in Republican politics. She ran
for mayor of Salina and was Republican vice-chairman of Sevier County. After
moving to Salt Lake City in 1960, she was a member of the State Central
Committee for eight years. She served on the Utah State Senate staff as bill
status clerk for 12 sessions. She was a delegate to two national conventions,
and was vice-president of the Utah Federation of Women's Republican Clubs.
Louise was also a remarkable seamstress and always made her own beautifully
tailored clothing. Other enjoyments included interior decorating, and playing
duplicate bridge, where she attained a Senior Master rating in the American
Contract Bridge League. She and her husband also traveled extensively both in
the United States and abroad. She had a full and satisfying life. She is
survived by her son David (Leslie) and granddaughters Krista and Allison.
Preceded in death by her husband Merrill and brothers Ed and Wells Brady.

Norborg, Ada
Ada Day Norborg 1920 ~ 2005 Ada Day Norborg passed away in her sleep at Manor
Care Living Center in Denver at 8:40 a.m. on February 24, 2005. Ada was born
in Bountiful, Utah December 16, 1920 the daughter of Joseph Henry and Luvena
E. L. Day. She married John J. Norborg on November 14, 1942. She was a loving
wife and mother, a homemaker, quilter, gardener and painter. Ada graduated
from Davis High in 1938. As a devout member in the Bountiful 27th Ward, Church
of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she was in the Relief Society and
Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Ada and her husband served two missions for
the church; West Virginia and West Australia. Ada is survived by sons, John,
Elbert and Loron; grandchildren, Tracy, Eric and Aariel; great grandchild
Tyrel; brother, Elbert and host of family and loved ones. She was preceded in
death by her husband, John, son Sherman D. and daughter Luvena. Funeral
services will be 11 a.m. Friday March 4, 2005 at the Bountiful 27th Ward
Chapel, 1145 N. 200 E. Friends may pay respects Thurs. March 3rd from 6-8 p.m.
at Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. and 9:45 - 10:45 a.m. at the

Otte, Leslie Bjorkman
1916 ~ 2005 BOUNTIFUL - Leslie Bjorkman Otte, age 88, passed away Monday,
February 28, 2005 in Bountiful, Utah. Les was born July 1, 1916 in Logan,
Utah, the son of Hans F. Otte and Alma (Allie) Marie Bjorkman. He graduated
from Idaho State University, School of Pharmacy, and enjoyed many years
serving as a pharmacist. Les joined the United States Navy in July of 1942 as
a Pharmacist First Class. He sailed 96,000 miles during World War II with the
Pacific Fleet, his service lasting three years, four months, and 27 days. Les
married Dana Jean Abbott, February 4, 1941 in Tremonton, Utah and they were
together for 62 years. He was a loving father and grandfather of three
children, eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Les is preceded in
death by his wife, Dana, and survived by his three children, Leslie H. (Dani),
Ballantine, MT; Kathleen Stringfellow (Dennis) Mesa, AZ; Diane Shaw (John),
North Salt Lake, UT; sisters Ethel Jensen, Provo, UT; and Elaine Gaudette,
Medford, OR. Preceded in death by sisters, Leona Jackson and Myrtle Saxton;
brothers Alfred Otte and Oscar Otte. Graveside services will be Friday, March
4, 2005 at 12:00 noon at the Farmington City Cemetery. Friends may call Friday
morning from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 N.

Roth, Lois
Lois Roth 1925 ~ 2005 Lois (Hash) Roth, beloved wife and matriarch, passed
away on February 26, 2005. She will be remembered for her honesty, generosity,
and fierce family devotion. Born on December 16, 1925 - the last of four
daughters to Cleve and Leda (Hicks) Hash - Lois was a Depression Era child who
quickly learned the values of resourcefulness and optimism. She graduated
South High in 1943 and married her high school sweetheart, Mel Roth in
California, on January 5, 1944. She achieved all three self-established goals
in life: to be an excellent wife, a loving mother and a wonderful grandmother.
Lois and Mel have three children [Lynn, David (Kim), and Janie] who brought
forth 10 grandchildren [Daniel, Justin (Andrea), Gena, Kaydee (Aaron), Tysen,
Sarah, Calan, Skylie plus Michelle and Trevor] and to date, four
great-grandchildren [Aysha, Caleb, Ian plus Rylie]. Those who knew Lois knew
her family, as she never tired of speaking about them. A birthday was never
missed, even when she was away; as the family grew, she was the hub, holding
us together with her love. Lois patronized the performing arts, with a special
love for the Hale Center and Pioneer Memorial stages. She was also a loyal
supporter of the University of Utah, especially Women's Gymnastics. A
reception will be held at Wasatch Lawn Cemetery on Wed., March 2 between 7-9
p.m. Memorial and graveside services will be at Wasatch Lawn on Thurs., March
3 starting at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are
made to IHC Hospice Care Foundation.

Sant, Kimball Smith
Kimball Smith Sant 10/27/32 ~ 2/27/05 A silent key for W7NHY, Kimball S. Sant
with the Davis County Amateur Radio Club. Kimball Smith Sant, age 72, passed
away Sunday, February 27, 2005 in Bountiful, Utah after a short but valiant
fight with cancer. He was born October 27, 1932 in Davenport, Iowa to Kimball
Smith Sant Sr. and Dorothea Ellen Barnett. He married Glenda Bricker Eskelson
Sant in 1998. He was member of the LDS Church, and the Davis County Amateur
Radio Club. He retired from KUED Channel 7 after 27 years of dedicated
service. He was a member of Civil Air Patrol, and flew many search missions,
Drum Major for the Salt Lake Scots, and was an accomplished sailor. He leaves
behind his wife Glenda, children Cathy (Ken) Schoney, Chris (David) Keane,
Sharon (Clark) Urie, and Robert (Mary Beth) Sant, as well as ex-wife Arline
Sant, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind
four step children, Craig (Alana) Hill, Jeffrey (Gayle) Hill, Jenny (Tracy)
Hawkins, and Spencer (Aundrea) Hill, with 11 step grandchildren and one step
great-grandchild. His easy going manner, love of family, and sense of humor
will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held Thurs., Mar. 3, at 11
a.m. at the Camelot Ward at 55 East 350 North, in North Salt Lake, with
viewing one hour prior to service. Friends may also call Wednesday evening

Southwick Jr., Albert James
Albert James Southwick Jr. 1926 ~ 2005 Albert James Southwick Jr. passed away
February 26, 2005 in Farmington, Utah after a long battle with cancer. MUSIC
WAS HIS GIFT AND HE WILL BE GREATLY MISSED. A.J. was born September 2, 1926 in
Logan, Utah to Albert James and Portia Southwick Sr. He married Phyllis
Clayton on April 1, 1950. Graduated from East High School went on to the
University of Utah and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Speech and
Business. He was a member of Beta Theta Pi and Honoree member of Theta Alpha
Pi. Served in the United States Navy in World War II and the Korean War aboard
the battleship U.S.S. Iowa and was a lifetime member of the Veterans of
Foreign Wars. After his discharge from the Navy, A.J. worked from a Salesman
to Vice President of Utah Banknote Company for 42 years retiring in 1991.
During his retirement he worked for U.S. Bank as their new construction
inspector until April of 1998. During his career, A.J. was a member of various
musical groups, Orpheus Club Male Chorus, Utah Power and Light Show Boat, Utah
Oratorio Society, Utah Symphony Chorus and Bountiful Community Church Choir.
Also much vocal and solo work for groups, friends and family. A.J. has been
involved in many public services, President of the Kawanis Chapter of
Bountiful, Board of Director of Kawanis Salt Lake Chapter, President and Board
of Director for Children's Service Society and President of Oakridge County
Club. Among his many achievements he enjoyed river running and had been on all
the class one rivers in the Western States and Alaska. He enjoyed golf,
bowling and his cabin in the pines. He lost his first wife after she had
endured long years with Alheimzers and married again to Charlotte Nielsen on
March 4, 1994. His wife, Charlotte, his daughters Carolyn (Doug) Anderson, New
York, Elaine (Buggsy) Gardiner, Vernal, Portia Whitmer, Layton, eight
grandchildren and five great-grandchildren survive him. Graveside services
will be held at Bountiful City Cemetery at 12:00 noon, Thursday, March 3,
2005. Friends may call at the Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main Street,
