Barlow, Debbie Page Sutterfield
Debbie Page Sutterfield Barlow 1967 ~ 2005 Debbie, our beloved daughter, wife,
proud mother, sister, aunt and friend passed away March 1, 2005. She was born
in Helena, Montana on February 22, 1967 a daughter of Ralph and Marjie Page.
She is survived by her parents; husband Jeff Barlow; sons Tyler and Cory
Sutterfield, and Bryce Barlow; brother Gordon (Machele); sisters Tamie
(George) Speciale, and Wendy (Dan) Cox; nieces Candace, Jacquelyn, and Lauren;
and nephews Spencer and Nicholas. Memorial services will be held Friday March
4, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple. Family and
friends may call one hour prior to service. Interment will follow in the Salt
Lake City Cemetery. Debbie's heart was open to all. She is loved and will be
missed.

Bird, James Reed
James Reed Bird 1927 ~ 2005 James Reed Bird, 78, of Springville, passed away
Monday, Feb. 28, 2005, at his home. He was born Feb. 10, 1927 in Springville,
Utah, the fourth of five children of Reed and Menett Alleman Bird. He
graduated in 1945 from Springville High School where he was active in sports
and drama. Following high school, J. Reed served honorably in the United
States Navy and graduated from BYU. J. Reed met the love of his life, Joyce
Oaks, at BYU and they were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on August 20,
1947. They enjoyed 56 wonderful years of marriage. He devotedly cared for her
during an extended illness until her death on Oct. 19, 2003. He was a faithful
member of the LDS Church and served in a BYU bishopric, as a ward clerk and
Sunday School president. He was also an active member of the Springville
Kiwanis Club for many years where he especially enjoyed the service projects
and the association with other members. J. Reed worked as a sales executive
for Moore Business Forms. He enjoyed golf, fishing and gardening. Preceded in
death by his wife, Joyce, brother, Howard; and sisters, Margaret Williams and
Martha Bird. He is survived by his children: David R. (Stephanie) of Sandy,
Stephanie (Randy Killpack), and J. Kevin (Cindy) of Springville, 14
grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his
brother, Dan (Marian) of Springville. Funeral services will be held on
Saturday, Mar. 5, at 11:00 a.m. in the Springville 3rd Ward, 345 E. Center
Street, Springville. Friends may call at the Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200
South, on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. or at the church one hour prior to

Conklin, Lesley Marie Gardner Wickham
Lesley Marie Gardner Wickham Conklin 1925 ~ 2005 Lesley was born December 15,
1925 in Teton City, Idaho to Lesley Albert Gardner and Florence Marie Beesley.
She died February 26, 2005 with members of her family at her side. She married
Ronald Clinton Wickham on February 9, 1945. Their marriage was solemnized in
the Idaho Falls Temple on August 29, 1962. He preceded her in death on
November 22, 1974. She married Bert Conklin April 16, 1976. He preceded in her
death on January 12, 1996. She loved her family, gardening, traveling,
reading, learning and missionary work. She was firm in her testimony of the
Savior and was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints. Lesley is survived by four daughters, Anna Marie (Roger) Pickett,
Priscilla (Frank) Davis, Jan Shreeve, and Julie (Lorin) John, 15 living
grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. One grandson preceded her in
death. She leaves behind a great legacy of honesty, integrity, friendship and
service. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 4, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. in
the Suncrest 2nd Ward Chapel, 400 West 140 North, Orem. Family and friends may
call from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Interment will
be in the Teton City Cemetery in Teton City, Idaho.

Cushing, Barry E.
Barry E. Cushing 1945 ~ 2005 Our loving husband, father, grandfather, brother,
and friend passed from this life to the next on March 1st, 2005 after a
courageous four-year battle with cancer. He lived life to the fullest with no
regrets. Born July 6, 1945 in Lansing, Michigan to William and Abigail
Cushing. Barry graduated with honors from Grand Ledge High School. He attended
Michigan State University, obtaining his Bachelor's of Arts Degree in
Accounting with high honors in 1966, and his Ph.D. in Accounting in 1969. He
married his lifetime partner, Cherry Lee Barker, on June 25, 1966. Barry
celebrated his life by traveling around the world with his family. He showed
his passion for being a Professor by authoring numerous textbooks and research
articles. Barry received various national and university awards recognizing
the excellence of his research and teaching contributions. Preceded in death
by his parents. Survived by wife Cherry Lee, children Dennis (Kristin), Becky,
Christy, Andy, grandchildren Travis, Kady, and Camden. Also survived by his
brothers Eldon (Maxine) and William (Marion). Our family wishes to express
sincere thanks to both The Huntsman Cancer Institute and VistaCare hospice for
their excellent care of Barry. A Celebration of Life Service will be held
Sat., March 5th at 11 a.m. at his dear friend Professor D. Gerald Searfoss'
home, at 8039 Hunter's Meadow Cir. Friends may call Fri. March 4th from 6-8

Kathleen P. Goff 1918 ~ 2005 Kathleen P. Goff, 86, passed away February 28,
2005 in Sandy. Born June 7, 1918 in Malad, Idaho to George Vernal and Sarah
Sherriff Pierson. Married Idellas Goff in Sandy, Utah June 7, 1935. He
preceded her in death. Kathleen was a member of the LDS Church. She is
survived by her sons, DuWayne (Cheryl) Goff; Floyd (Annette) Goff; David
(Colleen) Goff; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grand-children. Preceded in
death by daughter, Janet Goff Andrews. Graveside services Saturday, March 5,

Holbrook, Donald Benson
Donald Benson Holbrook 1925 ~ 2005 Our loving husband, father, grandfather,
brother, and friend passed away peacefully after a short illness on March 1,
2005. Donald was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on January 5, 1925 to Robert
Sweeten and Kinnie Benson Holbrook. He graduated from East High School in
1943, where he served as student body president. He was a lieutenant of the
Marines in World War II. He met and married the love and friend of his life,
Betty Gilchrist on April 23, 1949. He attended Harvard Law and graduated from

Jones, Elizabeth Althera
Elizabeth Althera Jones 1908 ~ 2005 PRICE, Utah Elizabeth Althera Jones
Williams Nielsen, affectionately called Lizzie, returned home to her Heavenly
Father, Mar. 2, 2005. She was born Jan. 10, 1908, in Clear Creek, Utah, to
John Johnson and Fanny Rebecca Lucas Jones. She was the oldest child of eight
children. She married Lenard Stephen Williams Oct. 21, 1925, in the Salt Lake
Temple. Their home was blessed with five children, Rea "J" Williams (Fred
Tatton) Wellington, Donna "V" Williams (Bob Williams) both deceased, Lenard
Lamond Williams (Jaselene) Price, Lynwood Stephen, deceased (Phyllis
Bendixsen) Salt Lake City and Terry Lavell (Marianne) Salt Lake City.
Elizabeth was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
throughout her life. She served in different organizations, Sunday School,
MIA, Relief Society and Primary. She was a visiting teacher for 70 years. in
1948 she joined the Amere Club where she met and made many friends. After her
family was raised she worked for the Carbon County School District as a "Hot
Lunch Lady" at the Durrant School. She enjoyed being around little children.
Lenard passed away Mar. 12, 1975, and she married Wilford Lewis Nielsen Jr.
Aug. 4, 1979. Wilford died Aug. 27, 1988. Elizabeth was able to live in her
home that Lenard and she purchased in 1945 for 58 years. When she was 95,
although she hated to leave her home where she had so many fond memories, she
moved to the Heirloom Inn where she continued to live until the time of her
death. She is survived by her three children, 17 grandchildren, 44 great
grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren, sister Wilma McArthy, Orem;
brothers Melvin Jones, Salt Lake City and Ross Jones (Yvonne) Price.
Stepchildren Lewis (Grethe) Nielsen, Centerfield, Lynn (Carol) Nielsen, Sandy,
Dorothy (Jay) O'Driscoll, Canyon Lake, CA; Leah (Glen) James, Helper and Donna
Lue (James) Mullins, Brigham City. Also preceded in death by sister Florence
Wallace and brothers Walter, Willis and Joe Jones. Funeral services will be
held Sat., March 5, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at the Price 8th Ward LDS Chapel, 995
E. 700 No. A viewing will be Fri. evening from 7-9:00 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary
at 680 E. 100 So., Price, and one hour prior to the service at the church.

Jones, Mary Ella Evans
Mary Ella Evans Jones 1925 ~ 2005 Mary Ella Evans Jones passed away peacefully
on February 28, 2005 after a long illness. Mary Ella was born December 5, 1925
in Centerville, Utah to Horton Haight and Ella Amelia Croft Evans. She spent a
happy, barefoot childhood in Centerville always looking for a neighborhood
ball game, a tennis match or riding her bicycle. She graduated from Davis High
School in 1944, and then attended the University of Utah, graduating in 1948
with a degree in Home Economics. While at the University, she affiliated with
the Chi Omega Sorority, developing many life long friendships. After
graduation, she served an LDS Mission to France and then taught school in
Southern California. Mary Ella married Maurice Dean Jones, September 18, 1957,
in the Salt Lake Temple. She immediately became the mother of three small
children and thereafter four more children were born into her wonderful
family. Mary Ella was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints and fulfilled many callings. Her last calling was as an
extraction worker which she thoroughly enjoyed. She was also a member of the
Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, Ex Libris Literary Club and many quilting
groups. She also worked for many years at the Arents clothing store. Mary Ella
enjoyed all sports, but was most devoted to tennis, U of U athletics and the
Utah Jazz. She was a competitive tennis player, participating in the Desert
News and Huntsman Senior Games on a regular basis. She also treasured her time
with her sister, Mae Ellison, and Mae's family at the Spanish Ranch in
Tuscarora, NV. Mary Ella loved taking her children to the Spanish Ranch where
they learned the value of work during the summer haying seasons. Mary Ella is
survived by her husband, Maurice, brother Bill Evans (Grace), daughters Margo
Brady (Bill), Annette Swenson (Richard), Mary Baumann (Erik) and sons Jeff
(Susan), Grant (Jane), Dan (Pat) and Justin (Heather) along with 25
grandchildren and seven great-grand-children. Funeral services will be held
Friday, March 4, 2005 at 12 noon at the Monument Park Stake Center, 1300 South
and Wasatch Boulevard in Salt Lake City. A viewing will be held on Thursday
evening from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401
Highland Drive and again Friday morning from 10:00 -11:30 a.m. prior to the
funeral services. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. Mom was a
great wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend and will be dearly
missed. Her family expresses sincere thanks to all those who were so
supportive during the last few years, in addition to staff at LDS Hospital,
St. Joseph Villa and CareSource.

Kennedy, Wayne Edward
Wayne Edward Kennedy 1923 ~ 2005 Wayne Edward Kennedy was born August 16, 1923
in Granby, Missouri. He died Sunday, February 27, 2005 at home in Twin Falls,
Idaho, surrounded by his loving family, including his sister Dorothy, after a
courageous battle with cancer. Wayne was the third child born to Martha Ellen
Hendrickson and Walter Elbert Kennedy. He became the man of the house at the
age of 12 when his father died. He graduated from high school in Granby, then
served in the US Air Force during World War II where he was stationed in
England. After attending an airline school in Kansas City, MO, he wanted to
work where it was cooler, and accepted employment as Station Manager with
Empire Airlines in Burley, ID. There, he was a one-man operation; selling
tickets, boarding passengers, loading their luggage, taking the weather,
operating the radio, and turning the prop to start the engine of the
seven-passenger Boeing 247. He learned every facet of the airline business in
38 years as Manager of Customer Service while the company grew from Empire
Airlines to West Coast, Airwest, Hughes AirWest, Republic, and Northwest
Airlines. He was on the ground floor of aviation from propeller-driven planes
to the passenger jets of today, also managing stations in Twin Falls and
Boise, Idaho and Salt Lake City, Utah. Wayne married Thelma Tadlock Stone
April 21, 1950, and became an instant father to her two boys. They later had
two more sons. After retirement in 1984, Wayne and Thelma enjoyed traveling in
the US, Europe: and Australia, and wintering in California. His children and
grandchildren were the light of his life, surpassed only by the
great-grandchildren. Wayne Kennedy is survived by his wife of Twin Falls, and
four sons: Gary Stone and wife, Bev, Kimberly, ID; Lanny Stone of Denver, CO;
Ken Kennedy of Simi Valley, CA; Kevin Kennedy of Simi Valley, CA.
Grandchildren are Bret Stone (Lori) of Lewiston, ID; Kali Henson, Kimberly;
Marrie Rovner (Jeff) of Laguna Beach, CA; Ryan Stone, of Denver, CO; Tracy
Kennedy (Brenda) of Simi Valley, CA; Erika Kennedy of Simi Valley, CA, and
nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Dorothy O'Hara
of Topeka, Kansas, and Edith Murray of Zephir Hills, FL; seven nieces, nine
nephews and a special family friend, Van Compagni of Twin Falls. He was
preceded in death by his parents and step-father, Lemuel Lowe, and one
grandson, David Dee Stone. Services will be held at Parkes Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 4, with funeral services at 3:30
p.m. March 5, 2005 and burial in Twin Falls Cemetery.

Koford, Franke Pahl
Franke Pahl Koford "My Girl" Franke died unexpectedly on the morning of March
1, 2005. She was born on March 6, 1958 to Beverly Bingham and Gunther Pahl.
Franke graduated from South High School. On April 21, 1990 she married the
love of her life, Guy Koford. Franke had an unconditional love for all
children, animals and those in need. She also had a big heart that she wore on
her sleeve. Her greatest and proudest accomplishments were her three children
and her grandson. Survivors: husband, Guy Koford; children, Krysta Pehrson,
Kole and Kelsey Koford; grandson, Kaden Pehrson; she also leaves behind five
sisters, Joan Bastameyer, Cathy (Brad) Libin, Cherri (Don) Butters, Susan
Viklund, Pam (Dale) Ewell. She was preceded in death by her mother and father,
and brother, Gary Pahl. Funeral services will be held Sat., March 5, 2005, at
1:00 p.m. in the Goff Mortuary 8090 So. State where friends may call Friday
7-9 p.m. or Sat. from 12 Noon to time of service. Interment, Sandy City
Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations which can be
made at any Mountain America Credit Union, in the Memorial Account for Franke
Koford.

Yvette Kodele McCrea 1964 ~ 2005 Our blessed daughter, sister, and mother
Yvette, born Dec. 10, 1964, was called home to her Heavenly Father Sunday,
February 27, 2005. Troubled by life's injustices her heart could no longer
carry on. She is survived by the thousand souls she touched, her mother and
father, Reta and Victor Carson, Hank and Shirley Kodele, five brothers; Todd
(Veronica), David, Shawn, Matt S, Matt A. (Mandy), three sisters; Michelle
(Gary), Summer, Lauri (Trevor) and four wonderful loving children; Derek
(Amanda), Tiffany, Kelsey and Payton; and many other extended family members.
Our sun will forever more shine a little less brightly with your passing. We
all love and miss you greatly sweetheart. May God hold you especially close

Kathleen Boyce Wood Monfrooy Home again Kathleen Kathleen Boyce Wood Monfrooy
passed away Feb. 27, 2005, after a two year struggle with breast cancer. Born
Dec. 18, 1946, Salt Lake City, Utah to Marvin Farey Wood and Dorothy Louise
Boyce. Graduate of South High, University of Utah, Masters in Education from
Utah State. Preceded in death by her father and son, Tom Monfrooy III.
Survived by mother, children, Monique, Anique, Eric; sisters Jean Rasband
(Phil), Suzanne Colby (Gary); brother Clark Wood (Karen), ex-husband/friend
Tom Monfrooy Jr; nieces and nephews. She loved music and had a voice like an
angel. Funeral services will be held Sat. March 5, at 12 noon. Viewing is

Nyborg, Darwin Lloyd
Darwin Lloyd Nyborg 1928 ~ 2005 Darwin Lloyd Nyborg, age 76, passed away March
1, 2005 in West Valley City, Utah from complications of Alzheimer's. Darwin
was born April 20, 1928 in Ashton, Idaho to Alfonso and Edna Nyborg. He
graduated from Hurricane High School. He married Jeannine Washburn on April
19, 1950. Within his family and among his peers, Darwin was most noted for his
work ethic. He worked most of his life as a cement mason. He took pride in
quality and was respected by all who worked with him. He never asked of anyone
what he wasn't willing to give. He was honest and generous. Darwin was a
member of the L.D.S. Church and worked with the Boy Scout program. He and his
wife of 55 years have always been surrounded by their children and
grandchildren, from whom they received their greatest joy. Darwin is survived
by his loving wife, Jeannine Nyborg; sons, Craig and Tony; sisters, Elaine
Gubler, Sherry Webb, Vonda Nyborg and Teresa Nyborg; brother, Gary Nyborg; 12
grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his
parents. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 5, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at
the Valley View Funeral Home Chapel, 4335 W. 4100 S. The family will receive

Nicki Osuna 1937 ~ 2005 Our Beloved Mother, Nancy Elberta Kerr Biggs Osuna -
"Nicki", age 67, passed away among family on Feb 27, 2005 in Loma Linda, CA.
Born November 25, 1937 in Los Angeles, CA. Married R. G. Biggs and was blessed
with four children, John, James, Nancy and Kristi, and was later divorced.
Then married James R. Osuna, adding one last child, Kiara, and two
stepchildren, Bret and Andrea. She radiated a warmth and care that was pure
and simple. Her greatest joy in life beside her family was to sing, and her
voice brought joy and wonder to many. Often she was found lifting the hearts
of others with her operatic voice, a God-given gift. She had a talent for
decorating and design, which brightened the d cor of many homes. A member of
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she was sealed in the Mount
Timpanogos Temple. Her husband, James R. Osuna, her sons, John Biggs, James
Biggs, her daughters, Nancy Gutierrez, Kristi Smith, Kiara Gray, and 11
grandchildren survive her. She spent countless hours throughout her life in
service to children, many of whom will remember her sweet touch and gentle
caress. Her love of music and talent have been passed on to many of her
descendents, a blessing which will carry the joys of her memory in us as we
await the glorious day of reunion in heaven. We honor our Mother this day, we
thank our Father in Heaven that she is wrapped in His loving embrace now,
surrounded by His Holy Angels, free from mortal limitations to sing praises to
God and Jesus Christ. We pray that she enjoys happiness greater than she has
ever known and commend her to God's care. Mom, we love you and will miss you.
Memorial Services will be held on Friday, March 4, 2005 in San Bernardino, CA,
at 11:00 AM. Viewing will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Interment will be at
Mt. View Mortuary & Cemetery, San Bernardino, CA.

Otte, Leslie Bjorkman
Leslie Bjorkman Otte 1916 ~ 2005 BOUNTIFUL - Leslie Bjorkman Otte, age 88,
passed away Monday, February 28, 2005 in Bountiful, Utah. Les was born July 1,
1916 in Logan, Utah, the son of Hans F. Otte and Alma (Allie) Marie Bjorkman.
He graduated from Idaho State University, School of Pharmacy, and enjoyed many
years serving as a pharmacist. Les joined the United States Navy in July of
1942 as a Pharmacist First Class. He sailed 96,000 miles during World War II
with the Pacific Fleet, his service lasting three years, four months, and 27
days. Les married Dana Jean Abbott, February 4, 1941 in Tremonton, Utah and
they were together for 62 years. He was a loving father and grandfather of
three children, eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Les is
preceded in death by his wife, Dana, and survived by his three children,
Leslie H. (Dani), Ballantine, MT; Kathleen Stringfellow (Dennis) Mesa, AZ;
Diane Shaw (John), North Salt Lake, UT; sisters Ethel Jensen, Provo, UT; and
Elaine Gaudette, Medford, OR. Preceded in death by sisters, Leona Jackson and
Myrtle Saxton; brothers Alfred Otte and Oscar Otte. Graveside services will be
Friday, March 4, 2005 at 12:00 noon at the Farmington City Cemetery. Friends
may call Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Russon Brothers

Poulton, Chloe Jensen
Chloe Jensen Poulton 1915 ~ 2005 Chloe Jensen Poulton passed away March 2,
2005, at the home of her daughter in West Valley City. She was born in Hyrum,
Utah September 12, 1915 and spent most of her adult life as a resident of
Magna, Utah. She was preceded in her death by her husband Ray Sutton Poulton.
Survived by five children, Linda, Brent (Anita), Maxine, Tad (Jerry) and Terri
(Pat) and their families, including 16 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren,
and one great-great grandchild. She especially enjoyed spending time with her
children and their families. She is also survived by her brother, Max. Chloe
enjoyed a long career and retired as director of the LDS Hospital Credit
Union. Funeral Services will be held Sat., March 5, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the
Valley View Funeral Home Chapel, 4335 W. 4100 S. The family will receive
friends at a viewing Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home,
and from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service on Sat. Interment:

Robinson, Nina Jean
Nina Jean Robinson 1929 ~ 2005 Nina Jean Wilde Robinson passed away March 1,
2005, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Nina was born in Kamas, Utah to George Leo and
Mary Lewis Wilde on January 15, 1929. She married Ronald Robinson on June 6,
1947 in Coalville, Utah. They had five children together: Rona (David) Wright,
Marsha (Van) Jenkins, Sally (Phil) Bristow, Bob (Cathy) Robinson, Kip
Robinson; also survived by eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren;
also survived by her brothers, Arnold (Ione) Wilde, and Jim (Latrese) Wilde;
sister, Louise (Bob) Bickmore. Nina was a wonderful cook and baker. She adored
her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She taught all of them to
play cards. She had a wonderful sense of humor. She was quiet in nature, but
loved a good verbal sparring match. She will be greatly missed by everyone who
knew her. Funeral services Saturday, March 5, 2005, at the Coalville LDS Stake
Center, at 1:00 p.m. Friends may call Friday, March 4, 2005 at the Coalville
LDS Stake Center from 6-8 p.m. and from 11:30-12:30 a.m., prior to the funeral

Gail Arthur Sorensen 1923 ~ 2005 Gail Arthur Sorensen, loving husband, father,
grandfather and friend, age 81, passed away March 2, 2005 in West Jordan, Utah
of Parkinson's Disease. Born April 8, 1923 in Redmond, Utah, to Arthur Lyman
and Alvilda Melvine Christiansen Sorensen. Married Olga Elaine Willden, May 4,
1944 in Seattle, Washington; later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. He
served in the Navy during World War II and retired from the SeaBees. Worked
for 29 years as a carpenter at Hercules. He held many and various positions as
an active member of the LDS Church including service in the Manti and
Washington DC Temples. Survived by his wife, Olga; children: Jane (Jim) Keech,
Gaylene Didericksen, John (Valerie) Sorensen, Charolyn (Chad) Rappleye, Susan
(Eldred) Jensen, Jay (Virginia) Sorensen; 25 grandchildren; 36
great-grand-children; siblings: Jay (Carol) Sorensen, Jean Poulson, Joyce
Shields, Rawland Sorensen, Marlene (Jim) Giles, Nellie (Al) Beazer, Terry
(Aletta) Sorensen; and countless other family and friends. Preceded in death
by parents; sister, Thelma; sons-in-law, Larry Didericksen and Craig Wall;
daughter-in-law, Marial Sorensen. Funeral services will be held Saturday,
12:00 noon at the Mayfield Ward, Mayfield, Utah. A viewing will be held
Thursday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road,

Southwick Jr., Albert James
Albert James Southwick Jr. 1926 ~ 2005 Albert James Southwick Jr. passed away
February 26, 2005 in Farmington, Utah after a long battle with cancer. MUSIC
WAS HIS GIFT AND HE WILL BE GREATLY MISSED. A.J. was born September 2, 1926 in
Logan, Utah to Albert James and Portia Southwick Sr. He married Phyllis
Clayton on April 1, 1950. Graduated from East High School went on to the
University of Utah and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Speech and
Business. He was a member of Beta Theta Pi and Honoree member of Theta Alpha
Pi. Served in the United States Navy in World War II and the Korean War aboard
the battleship U.S.S. Iowa and was a lifetime member of the Veterans of
Foreign Wars. After his discharge from the Navy, A.J. worked from a Salesman
to Vice President of Utah Banknote Company for 42 years retiring in 1991.
During his retirement he worked for U.S. Bank as their new construction
inspector until April of 1998. During his career, A.J. was a member of various
musical groups, Orpheus Club Male Chorus, Utah Power and Light Show Boat, Utah
Oratorio Society, Utah Symphony Chorus and Bountiful Community Church Choir.
Also much vocal and solo work for groups, friends and family. A.J. has been
involved in many public services, President of the Kawanis Chapter of
Bountiful, Board of Director of Kawanis Salt Lake Chapter, President and Board
of Director for Children's Service Society and President of Oakridge County
Club. Among his many achievements he enjoyed river running and had been on all
the class one rivers in the Western States and Alaska. He enjoyed golf,
bowling and his cabin in the pines. He lost his first wife after she had
endured long years with Alheimzers and married again to Charlotte Nielsen on
March 4, 1994. His wife, Charlotte, his daughters Carolyn (Doug) Anderson, New
York, Elaine (Buggsy) Gardiner, Vernal, Portia Whitmer, Layton, eight
grandchildren and five great-grandchildren survive him. Graveside services
will be held at Bountiful City Cemetery at 12:00 noon, Thursday, March 3,

Marian B. Sparks 1920 ~ 2005 COKEVILLE, WYOMING, - Marian B. Sparks, 84,
passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2005 at the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital in
Montpelier, Idaho. She was born Nov. 17, 1920 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Orson
and Geneve Horn Bennion. She married Dale D. Sparks on Nov. 17, 1938 in the
Salt Lake LDS Temple. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 5, at
12:00 Noon in the Cokeville LDS Chapel. Friends may visit with family at
Matthews Mortuary 702 Clay St., in Montpelier, Idaho on Friday evening from
7-9 p.m. and on Saturday at the church in Cokeville from 10:00-11:45 a.m.

Thaxton, Edythe Lorraine Cracroft
Edythe Lorraine Cracroft Thaxton 1941 ~ 2005 My eternal sweetheart passed from
this life on February 28, 2005. Life was a great adventure for her. The people
she met along the way were the choicest parts of living in her world. As her
soul mate and who accompanied Lorraine through almost 44 years of wedded
bliss, I watched her suffer the pains of mortality. Yet, because of her
positive nature, even when she was hurting inside, few people ever knew how
ill she was. Yet, I would do it all over again because she loved me and I
loved her and there was never a question about the love she had for me nor for
the many friends she made along her way. Once you were Lorraine's friend, it
was forever. Lorraine was born two days after Pearl Harbor on December 9, 1941
in Salt Lake City, Utah to Edwin Deppe and Edythe May Dazley Cracroft. She had
two brothers, Glen Edwin Cracroft (Joy) of Draper, Utah and Paul Leroy
Cracroft (Loyda) of Bountiful, Utah. She also had two sisters, Donna Margaret
Bethers (Howard) deceased and Mary Kathleen Hardman (Donald) of Parkersburg,
W. Virginia. Lorraine married Theodore James Thaxton Jr. on June 21, 1961 in
the Salt Lake Temple. She had already dealt with several physical ailments,
but tossed them all aside as she bore seven children whom she also spread her
capacity to love across their paths. They are Christopher James Thaxton
(Lynda) of Phoenix; Dr. Robert Edwin Thaxton (Rebecca) of Ocean Springs,
Mississippi; Julianne Kay Elder (Dr. Scott) of Tridell, Utah; Glen Evan
Thaxton (Chele) of Orem; Melissa May Porter (Michael) of Mendon, Utah; Amy
Lorraine Hales (Jason) of Albuquerque; and Susan Diane Stewart (Shawn) of
Vista, California. There were 24 grandchildren to come who also knew that
Grandma loved them unconditionally. Everywhere Lorraine went she endeared
herself to those around her. She kept her friendships alive whether she met
them in Texas, in Cache Valley, in Bountiful, in Salt Lake City, or in Orem,
Utah. She allowed some 15 young people over the years to live in her home
while they attended Brigham Young University. Lorraine graduated from South
High School in Salt Lake City and attended the University of Utah. However,
following her marriage she remained at home to raise her children in the love
of her faith. She has resided more than 25 years in Orem. Lorraine worked for
many years at Brigham Young University, first in the Tanner Bldg Student
Advisement Center, and later in the graduation office in the administration
building. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 5, 2005 at 12 noon, at
the LDS Chapel located at 1120 East 600 North in Orem, Utah. There will be a
viewing on Friday evening at the Sundberg Olpin Mortuary, 495 S. State St,
Orem from 6-8 p.m. and before the funeral from 10-11:45 a.m. at the ward

Kathleen W Wankier 10/3/30 ~ 2/28/05 Kathleen Warner Wankier , age 74, passed
away February 28, 2005 in South Jordan. Born Oct. 3, 1930 in Ogden Utah to
Clarence Henry and Orsena Caszier Warner. Married Lee Arvil Wankier Nov. 23,
1949 in the Salt Lake Temple, He died June 17, 2004. Graduated from Juab High
School. Active member of the LDS Church serving in many organizations
including Relief Society, Primary, and Young Women. Happiest when serving
others. Lived in 17 different homes. Very talented in homemaking arts.
Beautiful seamstress and wonderful cook. Shared her musical talent. Found
great pleasure in her flower and vegetable garden. Always had favorite cookies
or box of See's or Cummings chocolates to share. Loved children, especially
her own. Delighted to have visitors. Survived by children: Nan (Clyde) Bunker,
Delta; David (Angela) Wankier, Las Vegas, NV; W. Gordon (Renee) Wankier,
Blackfoot, ID; Kristine (Paul) Swenson, South Jordan; Bart (Kandi) Wankier,
Delta; 23 grandchildren and 15 (soon to be 16) great-grandchildren; brother:
Robert C. (Nena) Warner, Nephi; brother-in-law Maynard Wankier, Midvale;
sister-in-law Blanche Garrett, Provo; Preceded in death by daughter: Norma.

Whiting, Rondo E.
Rondo E. Whiting 1928 ~ 2005 Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather
passed away February 28, 2005 after eight months of health complications. He
was born April 14, 1928 in Mapleton, Utah. He married his sweetheart Geraldine
(Ririe) in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on August 7, 1953. They shared 51 years of
marriage together. Rondo graduated from BYU in 1953 and was a CPA. He proudly
served his country in the military including a year in Japan. He then served
an LDS mission in the Eastern States. He served faithfully in many Church
callings including Bishop in Plainview, NY. Rondo and Gerri started their
lives together in New York City. They lived in New Jersey, Long Island, NY,
and California before settling in the Salt Lake Valley in 1977. In recent
years, he had a passion for genealogy. He loved to travel and made a point to
visit all 50 states. He is survived by his wife, Gerri, and his children;
Craig (Jennifer), Kelly (Trish), Sharon (Wade) Mitchell, Eric; and 14
grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by youngest
child, Scott Kevin Whiting. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday,
March 5, 2005 at the LDS chapel on 6301 South 2300 East, with a viewing from
9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial

Wilkinson, Virginia Harriet Wilson
Virginia Harriet Wilson Wilkinson 1920 ~ 2005 Our precious mother,
grandmother, great-grandmother, Virginia Harriet Wilson Wilkinson, left us
Tuesday, March 1, 2005 to reunite with her beloved father, mother, and
brother. Born June 10, 1920 in Salt Lake City to George Frank Wilson and
Harriet Retta McIntosh Wilson. Virginia grew up in Salt Lake in the Avenues
where she met and married the love of her life, Finley Fawcett Wilkinson,
March 20, 1941. He died December 27, 1989. While Finley served in the
Philippines during World War II, Virginia lived in California with her
parents. Virginia's only sibling, Frank, was shot down over France while
defending his country in July 1944. She missed him every day of her life. When
Finley returned, they moved to Bountiful where they raised their family of
five children. She also helped her parents raise her brother's son, Terry.
Virginia and Finley owned and operated Wilkinson Buick in Bountiful for 35
years. She worked for Flying "J" Refineries for several years before joining
her daughter, Barbara, and son-in-law, Ken, in their jet charter business,
Barken International, until her retirement in 1999. Virginia was a friend to
many. She was dearly loved by everyone who was lucky enough to get to know
her. She will be greatly missed. Virginia is survived by her five children,
Barbara (Ken) Hepner, Rebecca (Paul) Larsen, F. Frank (Sylvia) Wilkinson, Deb
W. Wilkinson and his close companion Marda Quick, and Cynthia Meeks; her
nephew, Terry D. (Linda) Wilson; her 10 grandchildren; and her 14
great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Frank, and
Finley. Graveside services will be held Saturday, March 5, 2005 at 1:00 p.m.

Jerry G. Wurst 1938 ~ 2005 ST. GEORGE, UTAH - Jerry Glenn Wurst, age 66,
passed away at his home on February 28, 2005. He was born in Rexburg, Idaho on
July 4, 1938, to Virgil and Annie King Wurst. He worked many years at Smith's
Food King as an accountant. He attended Sugar Salem High School and Brigham
Young University. Married to Shirley Ann Aland on June 21, 1974, in Elko,
Nevada; later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Survived by his son, Trevor
Wurst, St. George, UT and sister-in-law, Lathell Wurst. Preceded in death by
his wife; parents; brother Paul; and one son, Joshua. Funeral services in Salt

Esther Yvonne Rotz Zink 1949 ~ 2005 MIDVALE - An amazing wife, mother and a
beloved grandmother, Esther Yvonne Rotz Zink, 55, passed away peacefully at
her home Feb. 28, 2005 surrounded by loved ones. Born June 6, 1949 in Colorado
Springs, Colorado to Alice Smith and Rex Rotz. Married June 7, 1969 to Terry
Dickerson Zink in Nampa, Idaho. She enjoyed music and color, especially the
color yellow. Esther loved life to the fullest and had a never failing faith.
Survived by husband; three children Anna (Troy) Clarke of Las Vegas, NV; David
(Julie) Zink of Nampa, ID and Ryan (Stacey) Zink of Portland, OR; five
grandchildren with one on the way. Father, Rex (Lois) Rotz and three brothers,
Glenn (Mary) Rotz of Lewiston, ID; Dr. Roland (Jodi) Rotz of Ventura, CA and
Doug (Ann) Rotz of Rathdrum, ID. Preceded in death by her mother and a
