Fry, Maxcine Louise Rueckert Maxcine Louise Rueckert Fry "MRF" 9/13/1924 ~ 3/4/2005 Once in a while, God reminds us of our humanity. Maxcine Louise Rueckert Fry, "MRF" to those who knew her best, was one of God's reminders. She was a mother, a grandmother, a friend to many, and an inspiration to all who were fortunate to meet her. MRF was born on September 13, 1924 to Alfred and Louise (Mace) Rueckert. She graduated from South High and lived in Salt Lake City throughout her life, except for a short time when she lived in San Francisco and worked to support the war effort. She married and later divorced Richard (Dick) Fry and had two children, Leslie (Jim Sage) and Mark (Kathy) Fry. She had four grandchildren Jamey Sage, Aimee Sage (Wil Sharp), Craig Fry (Amber) and Stephanie Clegg (Jimmy) and three great-grandchildren Kinley Clegg and Dylan and Chantel Fry. Also survived by her brother, LaVar Rueckert (Shirley) and sister, Virginia Davis (Sherm). MRF was proud of her career that lasted over 30 years with the Utah Medical Association and Salt Lake County Medical Society. She served as Administrative Assistant where she wore many hats. At one time or another, she worked with over a thousand members whom she considered to be "her" doctors. She received many awards over the years, including Distinguished Service Award and Special Award of Appreciation. She was respected as a hard working professional woman. She was also the President of the Professional Business Women's Association and volunteered at numerous places including St. Francis and St. Thomas More Catholic Churches and at St. Joseph's Villa were she resided Her kindness and compassion was without end. It is rare that one's mere presence can evoke so much joy and happiness. When MRF was around, people felt welcome. When she walked into a room, be it church, the salon, parties or St. Joseph's Villa, everyone was happy to see her. The great privilege, relief, and comfort of MRF's friendship were that one had to explain nothing. Somehow MRF intuitively knew whether your life was sunshine or rain. She could extract the blemishes from your soul with a surgeon's precision. She would listen intently to your verbosity for hours and wisely offer a comforting hand or a small but salient piece of advice. We will miss our "Little Lady" dearly--the special times spent with her rose bushes, trips to play the slots, shopping with her daughter and granddaughter or watching football with her grandson. GO STEELERS! Her wonder and charm is without compare. We hope that her final thoughts were the grateful realizations of how she touched us all so truly and deeply. Thank you MRF, we are all that much better to have known you. The family would like to thank the kind and generous staff of St. Joseph's Villa who cared for MRF, always with respect and with so much love. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Ulster Project Utah, an ecumenical Peace Project, @ 7935 Hunter's Meadow Circle, Sandy Utah 84093. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at the St. Joseph's Villa Chapel, 451 Bishop Federal Lane, at 3:00pm. Family and friends may call at 2:00pm. Jachmann passed away due to afflictions attendant to old age and joined her husband in heavenly realms. Born 28 November 1918 in Altona, Germany, she was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on 3 June 1927. Her strong faith in the Lord and His Church was ever manifest in her exemplary life. Beginning in her youth and throughout most of her adult life she held various positions of responsibility in the Church, including: teacher in Sunday School (repeatedly); secretary, first counselor and then District MIA President; Primary President; instructor in the Relief Society, and Primary teacher. In addition, she had a strong testimony of the value of and found special joy in Visiting Teaching. She read the Bible at least 3 times from cover to cover, the Book of Mormon many times. Her strong faith was further evident as she cared for and at times risked her life to keep her young family fed and warm during the precarious years following World War II. It was faith which allowed her to save food, in spite of its scarcity, in anticipation of nurturing her husband back to good health upon his return from Russia. A loving daughter, she supported her parents in their needs (her father was blinded in early manhood). In November 1952, Lydia and her husband led their family across the ocean to begin a new life in an unknown, but wonderful land. They settled in Salt Lake City, fell in love with this country and its people, and made their home here since. An avid home maker, she took great pride in her home. Skilled with her hands, she crocheted many a table cloth and doily. Table cloths for special holidays were decorated by hand. In July 1976 she retired from the Bell Telephone Company and, with her husband, enjoyed traveling to numerous countries throughout the world. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Bruno Jachmann, and by her elder sisters Wilhelma Brinckmann and Johanna Gerber. She is survived by her sons Bruno H. Jachmann (Anke), Idaho Falls, Idaho; Siegfried Jachmann ( Ria Corina), Salt Lake City; brothers Wilhelm Stelzig (Elfriede), Germany; and Heinz Stelzig (Inge), Germany; her grandchildren Larisa Jachmann; David Jachmann (Allison); Robert Jachmann (Susan); Rebecca Jachmann; great granddaughter Christina Jachmann; great-grandson Wilhelm Jachmann. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens. She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms. She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff. She stretcheth out her hands to the poor, yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Strength and honor are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come, for a woman that feareth the Lord shall be praised.
