Barton, John Whitaker
John Whitaker Barton 06/29/49 ~ 04/28/05 John Whitaker Barton, 55, died April
28, 2005 in Salt Lake City. He was born June 29, 1949 in Los Angeles,
California the son of Blayney J. Barton and Lavina Whitaker Barton. John loved
to golf, motorcycles, reading, writing, and fishing. He was a great friend and
companion to those who knew him well. He truly loved his children Hiliary and
Michael. He is survived by; daughter Hiliary Lawren Barton, 15, and son,
Michael Hunter Barton both of Bel Air, Maryland and many loving friends. He
was preceded in death by his parents. Cremation services are under the
direction of Deseret Mortuary.

Bishop, Jarad K.
Jarad K. Bishop "Lil Chopper" Our fun-loving son, grandson, brother, fianc 
and uncle, Jarad K. Bishop, age 21, returned to Heaven unexpectedly on April
28, 2005 in Magna. Born October 27, 1983 in Salt Lake City, the son of Kevin
Eugene Bishop and Debra Sue Rasmussen. Jarad loved cars and poetry. His poems
were published by poetry.com. He worked at the Old Spaghetti Factory for five
years. Survived by his father, Kevin Bishop; mother and stepfather, Debbie and
Lowell Finney; sisters: Chante, Brittany (Dave) Kehr; nieces: Raquel, Gia, and
Keira; grandparents: Mae and Joe Bishop, AnnaLou Finney; fianc , Chantel;
friends, Isaac and Warren; and many aunts, cousins, and an uncle. Memorial
services will be held Wednesday, 12 noon, at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 So.
Redwood Rd, where friends and family may visit on Tuesday, 6-8 p.m., and
Wednesday, one hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests
that donations be made to the Salt Lake City Credit Union in the name of Jarad
Bishop.

Donald W. Brown "Brownie" Donald Wayne Brown, 80, passed away April 27, 2005
at his home in Taylorsville, Utah. Born August 8, 1924 in West Jordan, Utah,
son of Leonard and Mary Marjorie Henderson Brown. Married Elaine Sorensen
April 27, 1946 in West Jordan, Utah. Family, friends, their cabin and Arizona
in the winter time were the joys of his life. Survived by wife, Elaine;
children: Vicky Lynn Mitchell, Bountiful; Steven Lee (Patti) Brown, Bountiful;
Terry Wayne (Karen) Brown, Sandy; Troy Don (Penny) Brown, Los Lunas, NM, and
one sister, Peggy Benson, Orem; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grand-children.
Preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Darlene and Leone. Graveside
services will be held Monday, 12 noon at Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 South
Redwood Road. A viewing will be held Sunday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral
Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Monday 11-11:45 a.m.

Chapman, Thomas Clifford
Thomas Clifford Chapman Tom Our dearest and beloved Thomas Clifford Chapman
returned to his Heavenly Father on Thursday, April 28, 2005. He was born on
December 22, 1968 in Marysville, California to Richard and Beverly Willey
Chapman. Thomas grew up in Clearfield, Utah and graduated from Clearfield High
School in 1987. He attended Utah Valley State College and graduated with a
Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science Information Systems with an
emphasis in Business. Thomas married the love of his life, Barbara Reed of
Midvale on August 16, 1990 in the Jordan River Temple for time and all
eternity. Thomas was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints. He was an Eagle Scout and served for many years in his ward
scouting program as well as serving in other callings. His faith was simple
and strong. Thomas was a devoted and loving husband, father, son, brother, and
uncle. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. Family has always
been the most important part of his life. Thomas had a thirst for knowledge,
enjoyed technology, astronomy and a variety of outdoor activities. Thomas is
survived by his wife, Barbara; son, Bryce; daughter, Maren, all of American
Fork; parents, Richard and Beverly Chapman, Clearfield; brother, James
(Shanna), Clinton; nephews, Logan, Joshua and Jonathan, all Clinton; uncle,
Richard Willey of Vermont; father-in-law, Doug Reed, Midvale; brother and
sisters-in-law, Brent (Carellyn), Susan (Scott) Rollins, Kathy (Karl)
Faulkner; also many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday,

Christopherson, Roland G.
Roland G. Christopherson 1910 ~ 2005 SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH - Roland G.
Christopherson, 94, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2005 in Salt Lake City,
Utah. Roland was born December 26, 1910 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was the
son of Martin Einor and Naomi Dagmar Mariger Christopherson. Roland married
Daphne Smith of Salt Lake City on August 3, 1935 in Washington, DC and they
were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple December 1935 by Heber J. Grant. He
attended East High School and graduated from the University of Utah in 1934
where he was president of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, played varsity football,
ran track and was a member of Skull and Bones, Owl and Key Honorary Societies.
He went to Washington, DC in 1934, took advanced accounting courses at Ben
Franklin University and worked for the US Treasury Department. Roland and
Daphne returned to Salt Lake City in 1939 and he worked for the Salt Lake
Transportation Company. He was called to active duty in 1940 and served as an
officer in the Army during World War II at different military bases in
California. They returned to Salt Lake City following the war and Roland
became Secretary Treasurer and Financial Manager of the Salt Lake
Transportation Company which provided taxis, ambulance service, Gray Line
sight seeing and Avis rental car services for the intermountain west. He sold
his interest in the company in 1969 and became Vice President of Marketing for
Valley Bank and Trust. Rolie and Daphne traveled extensively and enjoyed their
friends in many social clubs. Rolie was a devoted and loving husband, father,
grandfather and loyal friend to many. He loved collegiate sports and was
honored by the University of Utah Crimson Club as a Super Fan on his 90th
birthday. He served faithfully in many auxiliary organizations of The Church
of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints including Stake Young Men's President. He
also served as a guide on Temple Square for 20 years. Roland was an active
leader in the Lions Club serving as Local President and as District Governor
Roland was preceded in death by his loving wife Daphne, his brother Einor Hugo
Christopherson, his sister Roma Christopherson Sabine. He is survived by his
brother Lamar Sheldon Christopherson and four daughters; Carol (Kenneth)
Smith, Annette (Jack) Tanner, Janice (Thomas) Murdock of Salt Lake City, Utah
and Joyce (Rich) Wilson of Napa, California and 13 grandchildren and 29
great-grand-children. The family extends special thanks to the professional
care givers at the Canyon Creek at Fort Union Assisted Living Center. A
viewing for friends and family will be held at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East
South Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah on Monday, May 2, 2005 from 6 to 8 p.m. and
on Tuesday, May 3, from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday

Damron, Mary Jane Wells
Mary Jane Wells Damron 1925 ~ 2005 Mary Jane Wells Damron, dedicated wife,
mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt,
and friend died Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at LDS Hospital with loving family
at her side. Mary was born November 15, 1925 to Howard Burton Sr. and Stella
Estleen Wardrep Wells in Newport, Tennessee. On June 3, 1946, she married
Grant Leroy Damron in Easley, South Carolina. Later, Mary and Grant moved to
Magna, Utah, where they raised their five children and resided throughout
their lives. Mary served as a president-treasurer at Utah Central Credit
Union, and retired after 25 years of service. Afterwards, she and her husband
spent many wonderful winters with dear friends in Lake Havasu, AZ and
Mesquite, NV. Mary enjoyed traveling, card games, chocolate, nickel slot
machines, jig-saw puzzles, bingo, sewing, fishing, golf outings, music,
dancing, and laughter. But above all else, Mary enjoyed doing things for and
spending time with her family whom she loved with all her heart. She was truly
an incredible person who made this world a much better place to live each and
every day. Not a day will go by that she won't be dearly missed. Mary is
survived by her son, Gary (Lue) Damron; daughters, Penny (John) Shackelford,
Lane Damron, Holly Hill (Gerald Saxton), and Kelly (Richard) Hoekenga;
sisters, Dorothy Wilson, Madge (Dave) Emerson, and Peggy Pemberton;
sister-In-Laws, Leone Taylor, June McGill, Ruth (Keith) Bennett;
brother-in-laws, Marvin (Betty) Damron and Roy (Jacquline) Damron; 19
grandchildren; 16 great-grand-children; one great-great-grandchild, and many
nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Stella Wells;
husband, Grant Damron, husband's parents William and Mabel Damron; one sister,
and six brothers, . On Mary's behalf, her children would like to thank
friends, family, neighbors, and many health care professionals for all of the
kind words, thoughts, prayers, and support given to our family. Words cannot

Facer, Keith Holbrook
Keith Holbrook Facer 1916 ~ 2005 Keith Holbrook Facer, 88, returned to his
Heavenly Father on April 27 after a courageous battle with Merkel cell
carcinoma. He passed away at home surrounded with his family's love. He was
born December 5, 1916 in Holbrook, Idaho to William Henry and Amanda Holbrook
Facer. Growing up on a farm he learned the meaning of hard work and gained his
love of tilling the earth. He served a mission in the Northwestern States for
the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. While serving in the army
during World War II, Keith married his sweetheart, Virginia Murdoch, on June
24, 1942 in the Salt Lake Temple. He graduated from BYU in 1949 with a degree
in Sociology. Keith was a faithful member of the Church his entire life and
held many positions of service. After retirement, Keith and Virginia served a
mission in the Mesa Arizona Temple Visitors Center. They have enjoyed 63 years
of love and respect together. Keith radiated a special spirit and was known to
all for his Christ-like life. His greatest loves were his family and his God.
Survived by his wife, Virginia; daughters Jeanne (Allen) Hughes, Sue (Lee)
Parkin; son David Facer (Annett); son-in-law Lynn Peterson; 11 grandchildren,
22 great-grand-children; sisters Martha (Royce) Flandro, Donna Michaelson;
brother Reed (Billie) Facer; sisters-in-law Lyle and Edele Facer. He was
preceded in death by his parents; brothers Bill and Norman Facer; sisters
Helen and Karma Facer; daughter Laraine Peterson and brothers-in-law Paul Dean
Proctor and Millard "Mike" Michaelson. Funeral services will be held on
Monday, May 2nd at 12 Noon at the Valley View 3rd Ward, 4101 South 1925 East.

Flemings, Lakishia S.
Lakishia S. Flemings In Loving Memory Lakishia Shyvel Flemings, age 29, died
April 20, 2005 in California as the result of an automobile accident. Born
July 29, 1975 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the daughter of Gail Brown and Randy H.
Flemings. Lakishia attended Cyprus High School where she participated in track
and field events plus dance. She had been employed in customer relations. She
was fun loving and had a great sense of humor. Family was important, she loved
her children, and she enjoyed family gatherings. She had many friends and was
accepting of all. Preceded in death by her parents. Survived by daughter
Ayshia Groll, son Hagan Hines, and sister Tamara E. Taylor, a niece, aunts,
uncles and many cousins. Services will be held at Redwood Memorial Mortuary,
6500 South Redwood Road, on Saturday May 7, 2005 at 2 p.m. A viewing will be
held Fri. evening May 6th from 7 to 9 p.m. and one hour prior to the services.

Gordon, Roxella
Roxella Gordon Together Again EAST CARBON/PRICE- Our beloved wife, mother,
grandmother, sister, aunt and friend Roxella Behunin Gordon, age 94, passed
away April 27, 2005 with loved ones at her side. Born December 3, 1910 in
Ferron, Utah to Joseph H. and Mary Zwahlen Behunin. Married Shefton Gordon
October 4, 1930 and the marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS
Temple. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints and held many positions. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah
Pioneers. Roxie attended East High School, graduated from Carbon High and
attended the College of Eastern Utah where she studied Fine Arts. She was a
talented artist and produced exquisite and unique paintings. Roxie was a
dedicated chorister in all organizations in the ward in East Carbon and more
recently at the LDS 1st ward in Price, Utah. She had been residing at the
Heirloom Inn where she had many friends whom she greatly enjoyed. Survived by
three sisters, and two daughters, Lee Gordon; Mary K. Gordon (James L.)
Liddiard, both of Salt Lake City; thirteen grandchildren; twenty seven great
grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her
husband Shefton Gordon; daughter, Carol Jean Gordon Miller; seven sisters;
three brothers; great granddaughter. Funeral service, Monday, May 2, 2005,
12:00 noon, East Carbon LDS Ward Chapel. Family will be at the church at 10:00
a.m. prior to the service. Interment, Price City Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. Under
the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home of Price. In lieu of flowers family
suggests contributions may be made to the Scholarship Program, sponsoring a
student in Fine Arts at the College of Eastern Utah in the memory of Roxella

Natalie Gregory "Our Sweet Natalie" Natalie was born March 29, 2005. She
passed away April 28, 2005 in her parent's arms. She was a sweet spirit and
blessed our lives in many ways. We look forward to being with her again. She
is survived by her parents Travis and Lorraine (Atkin) Gregory, her sister
Sarah and brother Garrett, grandparents Douglas and Danna (Minoch) Gregory and
Thomas and Lila (Duffin) Atkin. Our heart felt thanks to the newborn intensive
care staff at Primary Children's Medical Center who did everything they could
to help Natalie. We will be forever in their debt for the time they gave us

Henry, Nancy Jo Hancock
Nancy Jo Hancock Henry 1948 ~ 2005 Nancy Jo Hancock Henry passed away on April
28th 2005 after a courageous battle with multiple myeloma. Nancy was born on
July 17, 1948 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Melva and Ned Hancock. She graduated
from Stevens-Henager College, where she met her husband Howard John Henry.
They were married on February 20, 1970. At the time of her death, Nancy was
the human resource manager, office manager and the learning and education
leader for PriceWaterhouseCoopers. Through her employment, she became involved
with Executive Women International where she held multiple positions. Nancy
possessed an enthusiastic wit and unique sense of humor. She made every
occasion energized by her presence. Nancy developed numerous hobbies. She
enjoyed reading, counted cross-stitch, and quilting. She also had a passion
for golf. Many vacations with family and friends were spent golfing. Nancy's
greatest enjoyment came from time spent with family. She was a devoted wife
and mother. Nancy is survived by her loving husband Howard; daughter, Jessica
Henry; son, Jeffrey Henry, future son-in-law, Jason Echeverria; sister, DeeAnn
(Bud) Knowles; brother, Lee (Marilyn) Hancock; mother, Melva Hancock;
mother-in-law, Alice Henry. Nancy's father, Ned, preceded her in death. Nancy
also had the love and support of numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and
cousins. The family wishes to thank Dr. Patricia Legant for giving them the
opportunity to create additional memories. Her compassionate dedication guided
Nancy on her journey. A celebration of Nancy's life will be held at 1 p.m. on
Monday May 2, 2005, at the Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 East 1300 South. Family

Ren e Hudson Houghton 1931 ~ 2005 Ren e Hudson Houghton, 74, loving spouse,
mother, sister and grandmother, passed away on April 27, 2005 after a long and
courageous battle with lymphatic cancer. She was born on March 23, 1931 to Zoy
and Clifford Hudson in Taylorsville, Utah. She married W. L. 'Gil' Houghton on
September 15, 1950 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Survivors: husband, Gil; son, John
Houghton (Mary Ellen), Salt Lake City; daughter, Liz Boussard, Flagstaff,
Arizona; grandchildren, Christophe Boussard, David Houghton, Holly Edwards
(James); three great-grandchildren, Sam, Evelyn, Ethan Edwards; sister, Carol
Newton (Rex); brothers, Gordon Hudson (Pat), Steven Hudson (Margarita). She is
preceded in death by her parents. A private family service was held Saturday,
April 30, 2005 in Salt Lake City. Interment at the family plot at Vine Bluff
Cemetery, Nephi, Utah. The family expresses appreciation to Dr. Clyde Ford,
Heidi and Michele; and IHC Hospice, particularly Jan Ryan, for their care and
kindness.

Husberg, Joyce Ollerton
Joyce Ollerton Husberg 10/24/1931~4/28/2005 Joyce Ollerton Husberg, age 73,
passed away peacefully on April 28, 2005 at the home of her daughter. She was
born October 24, 1931 in Fairview, Utah to Lucy Estella and Seth Hood
Ollerton. She was the baby in a family of 10 children. Joyce grew up in
Springville and graduated from Springville High School. She also attended BYU.
She married Paul Jay Husberg July 15, 1954 in the Logan LDS temple. She was an
active member of the LDS church and enjoyed serving in many positions. She
also worked at J.C. Penney for many years. Joyce devoted her life to loving
and taking care of her family. She always put her children's needs before her
own and was the best Grandma in the world. She was often referred to as "Joyce
Central" for being the hub of the family. For many years she struggled with
painful life-threatening illnesses. She not only battled with great strength
and courage, she had an amazing ability to adapt and learn to live with
increasing disabilities and suffering. Her will to live was powerful. She was
a kind and gentle lady who rarely complained and was loved by all. She is
preceded in death by parents; husband Paul; grandson Timothy; siblings Vivian
Wilson, Reva Weinkie, Seth Ollerton, Roldo Ollerton, Elmo Ollerton and Carlyle
Ollerton. She is survived by children, Bradley (Michelle) Husberg, Eagle River
Alaska; Susan (Rodrigo) Eyzaguirre, Salt Lake City; Jeanne (Mike) Hamling,
Sandy; Cathleen (Brad) Tronson, Lehi, and stepson Paul (Denae) Schow, Sandy;
fourteen grandchildren: Christopher, Deja, Jason, Austin, Matias, Rowan,
Jayden, Seth, Luke, Nicholas, Daniel, Heidi, Jennifer, and Jessica;
great-granddaughter Samantha; and siblings Lucy Long, Don Ollerton, and Mary
Harris. The family would like to thank the wonderful doctors and staff at the
University of Utah Medical Center for years of great care and never giving up
on her. We also want to thank the wonderful network of friends and neighbors
who gave so much of themselves to help her in so many ways. Funeral services

Jenkel, Paul
Paul F. Jenkel 11/23/17 ~ 4/26/05 Surrounded by family, our loving husband,
dad and grandpa concluded 87 eventful years, succumbing to complications of
Alzheimer's Disease in the early hours of April 26, 2005. Laid to rest at
Mountain View Memorial Estates with private family services on Thursday, April
28. Paul is survived by his loving companion and wife Janis, son Richard
(Lindsay) and stepson Robert (Mary) Hall, seven grandchildren and ten great
grandchildren. Born November 23, 1917 in San Francisco, CA to Paul F. Sr., and
Minnie Roselle Pickering. Raised in Oakland then joined the war effort serving
from 1941 - 1948, initially with the US Army 7th Infantry, then with the Army
Air Corps where he earned his Wings, and flew 35 missions with the 452nd Bomb
Group, 731st Squadron, eventually earning the rank of Captain in the stateside
Air Transport Command. Worked in Air Traffic Control at the Salt Lake Air
Route Center, retiring after 20 years of service in 1971. Paul and Janis
enjoyed 50 wonderful and busy years together, and spent a long and prosperous
retirement filled with family, travel, golf, more travel, and the company of
many friends they made during their journey's together. She provided loving
and unselfish care for many years during his illness providing a safe haven
for dad in the midst of many challenges. Dad, Honey and Grandpa, we will
always love you and our lives are forever enhanced through your example and
now, sadly, through your passing. A fitting toast to your memory might be
simply stated as, "Keep Your Head On The Swivel!" A gathering to celebrate
Paul's life will be held in the near future. Family and friends will be

Julian, Veda Marie
Veda Marie Julian 1921 ~ 2005 Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great
Grandmother, sister and friend, Veda Marie Price Hult Julian passed away
Sunday, April 24, 2005 at the age of 83. She was born to Julia Lucretia (Mae)
Price Keen and Virgil Ray Price on December 25, 1921 in Roberts, ID. She
married Deloy W. Hult in 1938 and in 1942 moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. She
later married Joseph J. Julian in 1948. She started, managed and owned a
business in South Salt Lake, at the same location, for 62 years until her
passing. Veda was a member of the LDS Church where she served in the primary
for 35 years as well as being a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
At the age of 69 she served a Proselyting Mission in San Diego, California.
She loved to travel this beautiful world and was able to see 3/4 of it. She so
loved to dance, golf and garden. Veda will always be remembered for her
selfless generosity and love. She will be greatly missed by her family and the
countless friends whose lives she touched. She is survived by her three
children; D. Ray Hult (Ronda); Vicky Julian Meeke (Brent) and Larry Julian
(Debbie); 14 loving Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren; and one sister
Joy Barreau (Don). A viewing will be held on Monday May 2nd from 6-8 p.m. at
Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Drive. Services will be held at 12 noon
on Tuesday, May 3rd with a viewing one hour prior to services, at the
Cottonwood 12th Ward, 1750 E. Spring Land (5195 South).

Kenyon, Maria Guadalupe
Maria Guadalupe Kenyon 1941 ~ 2005 Maria Guadalupe Kenyon was born on Jan 14,
1941 in Monterrey Mexico to Lauro and Leonarda Sanchez. She passed away on
April 29, 2005 after a sudden but brave fight with cancer. She was married and
sealed to her husband Douglas P. Kenyon and family on November 7, 1998 at the
West Jordan temple. Our wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister,
daughter, but most of all great friend will be remembered as an exceptional
woman, always striving for the benefit of those around her and causing an
impact in the lives of those she came in contact with. She is survived by
husband Doug P. Kenyon; children: Juanita and Juan Estrada, Jose, Adan,
Javier, Fernando and Cindy Velasquez, Bonnie Basta, Sondra and Jon Young;
grandchildren: David, Ivan, Sadie, Nathan, Elsa, Carlos, Alex, Jose Antonio,
great-grand-children: Robert, To o, and Anna Lisa. Funeral services will be
held on Tuesday, May 3rd at 11 a.m. at the Winder 10th Ward, 4366 S. 1500
East. The family will receive friends on Monday May 2, 2005 from 6:30-9 at

Koncurat, Germaine Marie Fran‡oise Ista
Germaine Marie Francoise Ista Koncurat 1913 ~ 2005 Germaine I. Koncurat, age
92, passed away Thursday April 28, 2005 at the Wentworth at Draper where she
had been living for the past four months. The cause of death was an aneurism.
She was born March 21, 1913 in Seraing, Belgium to Leopold Jean Joseph Ista
and Francoise Josephine Rulkin. She was the oldest of three children (two
girls and one boy.) In February, 1924, she, her brother and mother were
baptized in the River Meuse. She lived both in Belgium and in France. She
married Marko (Marc) Koncurat on August 21, 1937. Together they struggled
during World War II when bomb scares and air raids were all too common. Food
was rationed and milk for babies was scarce. They survived the bombing of
their home and many other hardships. Germaine had many church callings, which
included Primary presidency in both the branch and district. She was a real
leader and a great example to many children. She even conducted neighborhood
"primary" meetings, which were attended by many. She had a natural talent for
poetry. She has written many French poems which she published in her book of
remembrance. She was an avid genealogist and has done extensive research
including name extraction. She also served as a Cub Scout den mother. It had
always been her dream to come to America and be sealed to her husband and to
their four children in the temple of God. They also wanted to raise their
children in an LDS environment. In May of 1953 after trying for about five
years, they were finally able to obtain visas and come to America. They had
sold most of their belongings and made the trip, which took about three weeks
and included 14 days to cross the Atlantic and a 2,200-mile drive in a 1937
Pontiac with a former missionary couple. On March 4, 1954, her dream was
finally realized. Germaine has lived both in Draper and in Sandy. She has been
an inspiration to many as she has borne a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and
of the restoration of the Gospel in the latter days. She is survived by her
sister, Josette (Jean) Pirlot, Belgium; a daughter, Emmanuella (Dennis)
Overstreet, Draper, UT; Pierre (Sharon) Koncurat, Devon, PA; Joseph Koncurat,
Kearns, UT; and Jacques (Monique) Koncurat, Sandy, UT; as well as 19
grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and two, soon to be born, great
great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Marc, her
brother Armand Ista and a great-grandson Marcus Koncurat. Special thanks to
the nurses and aides of The Wentworth at Draper and Hospice of Utah for their
loving care. Funeral services will be Tuesday May 3, 2005; 11 a.m. at the Mt.
Jordan 5th ward Chapel, 9331 South 300 East, Sandy UT. Friends and family may
call Mon. 6-8 p.m. at the Larkin Sunset Gardens, 10600 South 1950 East, Sandy,

May W. Lewis Beloved Mother MARION, UTAH - May Wilde Lewis, 87, passed away on
April 30, 2005 in Heber City, Utah. She was born on Jan. 30, 1918 in
Coalville, Utah to Charles Ernest and Della (Nix) Wilde. She married James
LaVern Lewis on June 26, 1937 in Ogden, Utah. Their marriage was later
solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. She was an active member of the LDS church
and enjoyed various callings including overseeing the ward bazaars. She was a
member of the Marion sew and sew club, and enjoyed crocheting and talking to
her friends on the phone. She is survived by her sons, LaGrande (Joan) Lewis
and "Sam" (Leone) Lewis both of Coalville, UT; Larry (Mary Dawn) Lewis and
Jerry (Cathie) Lewis both Kamas, UT; and Max (Patsy) Lewis of Marion, UT;
brothers, Verl Wilde, and Walden (Verna) Wilde, both, Salt Lake City; and Carl
"Kelly" (June) Wilde, Coalville, UT; sister, Eillene (Delbert) Richins,
Henefer, Utah; and a sister-in-law, Marie, Wilde of Coalville, Utah; also 14
grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren She is preceded in death by her
husband, brothers, Owen, and Ren and sister Myrtle Mathews. Funeral service
will be on Tuesday, May 3, 2005, at 12 noon in the Kamas LDS Ward Chapel in

McIntyre, Robert
Robert McIntyre "Keep on Trucking" Robert McIntyre, 91, passed away April 27,
2005 at the home of his daughter and son-in-law in West Valley City, UT. He
was born June 21, 1913 to Charles and Mary Marie McIntyre in Idaho Falls, ID
where he grew up and attended public schools. He married his sweetheart,
Florence E. Lovell, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple Oct. 28, 1935. Robert joined
the Civilian Conservation Corps where he gained training in the operation of
heavy construction equipment and trucks. His career lasted over 40 years as a
Commercial Truck Driver having driven accident free for over three million
miles. He was employed by S.L. Transfer Co. and later retired from Northwest
Transport. Over half of his driving career was transporting Minuteman Missiles
and other weapon systems throughout the U.S. He was one of 48 professional
drivers chosen by the Heavy Specialized Carrier Conference of the American
Trucking Assoc. to transport the Apollo 11 Moon Exhibit during its National
Tour in 1970. He received several merit and safe driving awards by his
employers and the Teamsters Union. Robert was an active member of the LDS
Church and served in many callings throughout his life including Stake YM's
Pres, Bishopric. ward missionary, and as a home teacher. He served a mission
with his wife, Florence, to the Columbia South Carolina Mission. After the
death of Florence in Dec. 11, 1985, he married Lucille Heier, on Dec. 19,
1986. Survived by his wife, Lucille Heier-McIntyre, American Fork UT;
children, Norma (Bruce) Hood, Midvale, Barbara (Jerry) Lanier, West Valley
City; Charles (Debra) McIntyre, Layton; and several grand and
great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife; brother, Albert; and two
sisters, Alice and Annie. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2005
at 12 noon at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 East 10600 South in Sandy,

Elsie Rushton Mines "Lived to Serve" Elsie Rushton Mines passed away
peacefully April 28, 2005 of natural causes. Elsie was born June 14, 1916 in
Hunter, Utah to Walter St. John and Jennie Leoni Wilding Rushton. She married
Lowell Mines February 1, 1937 in Murray, Utah. Elsie was a member of the LDS
Church and served in various callings including Ward Relief Society President.
She was also President of Murray City Firemen's and Policemen's Auxiliaries.
She and her husband traveled extensively with the Good Sam Club where they
made many wonderful friends. She had a comforting spirit and served as a
compassionate service leader for many years. She was a very devoted wife,
mother and grandmother. She is survived by her children, Dora (Larry)
Froisland, Toby (Jan) Mines, Sally (Jerry) Madsen, Janette (Dave) Ridges,
Linda (Ray) Jaggi, Grant (Maridean) Mines, her brothers, Parley and Welby
Rushton, 31 grandchildren and 60 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her
husband, Lowell, her brothers and sisters and one granddaughter. Special
thanks to IHC Hospice for their loving care of our mother. Funeral services

Peter Nicholas Mismash "Nic" Peter Nicholas Mismash "Nic", age 21 died
tragically April 28, 2005 in Houston, Texas when the truck he was riding in
was struck by a drunk driver. He was born in Salt Lake City July 25, 1983 to
Jim and Lynda Mismash. His childhood ambition of being a country western
singer had to be put aside for his love of basketball. He could be found on
the court in a pick up game any night of the week. He loved music and had a
shoe collection most women would envy. He had an amazing talent for putting
his thoughts into words, and hoped one day to be a writer. He was the
"favorite" uncle. We will miss his tender heart and radiant smile. We love you
Nic. Survived by parents; siblings Sam (Andrea), Andrew (Kristin), Lindsay
Archibald (Alan), Alex (Jodi), Ben (Leslie), Anna and Morgan; 10 nephews and
10 nieces; many close friends and basketball buddies. Preceded in death by
grandparents and his dog Rocket. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 2,
2005 at Noon in the Crescent Ridge Stake Center, 1265 East 11000 South in

Moffitt, Barbara Jeanne Molander
Barbara Jeanne Molander Moffitt 1933 ~ 2005 Barbara was born in Rockford, IL,
Nov. 6, 1933 and her courageous battle with cancer ended April 26, 2005. She
moved to Salt Lake City, UT in 1953 where she met her beloved husband Jerry
Moffitt. They married Oct. 8, 1955 and raised four children, Clyde Joseph,
Margaret Helen, Theresa Marie, and Francis Joseph. Her life as a devout
Catholic began with her baptism, May 30, 1954. Barbara was active in the
Legion of Mary, the Golden Club and became a Third Order Carmelite on March
19, 1960. She enjoyed her many craft projects, making dried flower bouquets,
crocheting afghans and sweaters. Barbara and Jerry moved to Post Falls, ID in
January, 2004 to be near their church, Society of St. Pius X. A rosary will be
recited Monday, May 2nd at 7 p.m. A Requiem Mass will be sung Tuesday May 3rd
at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church. Burial at Evergreen Cemetery,
Post Falls, ID. The family extends their appreciation to Hospice of Northern
Idaho for the caring and generous support through this difficult time.

Jerry Wayne Moss 4/3/33 ~ 4/29/05 SANDY, UT - Jerry Wayne Moss 72, a loved
husband, father and grandfather was born on April 3, 1933 Huntington, UT to
James Wayne and Ruth Wheeler Moss; he died April 29, 2005 in Logan, Utah of
heart failure. He married Jedda King April 19, 1954 in the LDS Salt Lake
Temple. She passed away in 1995. He later married Daryl Meadows, Oct. 13,
2001. He is survived by his wife Daryl, son Jed (Aileen) of Smithfield,
daughters Rebecca (Kevin) Hanna and Terri Moss of Las Vegas, six grandchildren
and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jedda, his
parents and brother. Jerry was a member of the LDS Church and a veteran of the
US Army. He was a welder by profession, retiring from the Utah State Highway
Department. He was a life long member of the Salt Lake City Motorcycle Club,
and Utah Pheasant Society. As a member of the SLMC he received many awards and
served as Sergeant of Arms for many years. His love of motorcycling continued
to be his fun and recreation until his health prevented it. As a member of the
Pheasant Society, he became known for his ability to raise Champion Show
Pheasants. His hobbies included raising pheasants, motorcycling, glass
engraving, and woodworking. He was very creative and worked well with his
hands. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Family and friends

Ortega, Balbino A.
Balbino A. Ortega "Bino" Balbino "Bino" Augustinino Ortega, 65, our beloved
husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away April 29,
2005. He was born January 21, 1940 in LaMadera, New Mexico to Albino and
Guadalupe Ortega. He married Helga Marzluff in Basel, Switerland on April 7,
1964. Family was always the number one priority, extreme love for all his
children and grandchildren and Cinsey (Man's Best Friend), plus his best
friend and wife, Helga. They taught all the children the love of dance and
laughter. Hunting with the family was a great enjoyment, being a Master
Marksman was a plus for all of us. He was the Head of the Moon Lake Bear Club,
building, creating and designing new ways for camping. Bino had a strong faith
in God and he was a member of Hermano De La Cofradia De Nuestro Padre Jesus.
Bino's love for auto racing was only exceeded by his love for God and his
family. He was well known anywhere the #42 Car ran, from California to Idaho,
Colorado and Utah. He was a long time member of the Salt Lake Valley Racing
Association, highly respected for his knowledge and efforts. He enjoyed Family
Bonding Moments with the whole family, brothers, sisters, and nieces, nephews,
cousins and friends. We will miss the stories he has to share with all of us.
Bino stood strong on his convictions and beliefs in the Democratic Party. Bino
served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1964. Survived by his wife of 41
years, Helga Marzluff Ortega; his mother, Guadalupe Ortega; children, Silv
Hylinski, Michael F. Ortega, Sandra Ortega, John R. (Candy), Debra M. Durfey,
Henry R. (Deanna), Tricia L. Bruggeman (Hal), Baby Girl Cinsey "Papa's Best

peacefully April 28, 2005 in Magna, Utah. She was born April 8, 1926 in
Cambridge, Idaho. She married John Robert "Bob" Riley July 12, 1969 in
Holladay, Utah; he preceded her in death in 1995. Marie lived several years in
California where she was a RN She was a mid-wife and prided herself on the
many babies she delivered. She came to Utah and married her soul mate, John,
and together they owned and operated J & M Enterprises where Marie worked
diligently as a naturopath. She was devoted to her husband and together they
were devoted to the Church of God International. Survived by one sister, Elsie
J. Robinson, of Los Altos, CA. Special thanks to Bobbie Dean and Belinda

Ann Sieb Sauer 1917 ~ 2005 Our loving Mother, Ann Sieb Sauer, age 88, passed
away peacefully Thursday, April 28, 2005 of causes incident to her age. Born
January 17, 1917 in Gering, Nebraska to George and Margaret Reifschneider
Sieb. Educated in NB. Married Peter Louis Sauer on January 10th, 1937 in
Harrisberg, Nebraska. Pete and Ann moved to Salt Lake City in 1943. She owned
and operated the Shalimar Beauty Salon. She retired in 1988. Her husband Pete,
passed away March 7, 1988. She is survived by her children: Mrs. Willmetta
Dotte (Dick) Smith, Mrs. Carole (Roger) Monsen, Jr., Mr. Pete L. (Cheryl)
Sauer, Jr., Debra Sauer. 11 Grandchildren and 20 Great Grandchildren. She has
one living sister, Mrs. Minnie (John) Baum, Gering, Nebraska. Preceding Ann in
death were brothers and sisters: Natalie (Dolly) Deines, Caroline Manwieler,
Mary Relka, Carl Sieb, David Sieb, Amy Able, Matilda Loose, Susie Sieb, Katie
Fritzler, Ben Sieb, Jake Sieb and Susanne Gay. Graveside services will be held

Saville, Paul William
Paul William Saville 1920 ~ 2005 Son of Percy William and Sigrid Marie
Erickson Saville was born December 25, 1920 in Salt Lake City, UT and passed
away April 29, 2005 at the age of 84. Paul was the youngest of six children.
He attended East High School and the University of Utah, where he was
affiliated with Kappa Sigma Fraternity and graduated in accounting. Paul
proudly served on the USS Hornet in the South Pacific during World War II. He
married Beverly Jane Thomas in 1943 and enjoyed her companionship until her
death in 1997. Paul worked as an accountant for major trucking firms in Salt
Lake City and in the San Francisco Bay Area. Paul served many callings in the
LDS Church including bishop and bishop's counselor in the San Francisco Bay
Ward; ward financial clerk, elder's quorum presidency, and Sunday School
presidency in Monument Park 17th Ward. He and Beverly served missions together
in the Salt Lake Liberty Stake and in the Name Extraction Program for the
Genealogy Department of the Church. He loved yard work and while living in a
3rd floor apartment in San Francisco for 14 years and missing his yard, grew
Bonsai trees on the fire escape, much to the chagrin of the Fire Department.
He enjoyed being Mr. Fix-It around the house and utilizing his carpentry
skills. He will be missed for his sense of humor and dedication to every task
he tackled. Survived by his daughter, Diane Meyer (Mrs. Douglas), and
grandsons Drew and Garner Meyer. Preceded in death by Beverly, by his parents,
and by sisters Virginia Saville, Florence Saville, Eula Samway (Mrs. Francis),
Helen Myers (Mrs. Harold), and Neva Harris (Mrs. Sterling R.). Funeral
services will be Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at 12 noon in the Monument Park 17th
Ward, 2795 Crestview Drive (1010 So.), where family and friends may call from

Smith, Sandra Katherine "Sandi"
Sandra Katherine Smith "Sandi" Sandra Katherine Smith, 64, went to be with her
Lord after passing away peacefully surrounded by her family on April 28, 2005
due to complications from surgery. Born March 13, 1941 in Fosston, Minnesota
to Hubert W. and Doris H. Johnson, Sandi was one of three sisters. Sandi is
survived by her loving, caring, best friend and husband of 25 years Garren
Smith, children Patti, Steven and Mark, 14 grandchildren, one
great-granddaughter, her sisters Darlene and Renee, uncles, aunts, numerous
nephews and nieces and many dear friends. A service to celebrate Sandi's life
will be held on May 1, 2005 between 4 and 6 p.m. at Intermountain Baptist
Church, 4770 S. 1950 W., Taylorsville, UT 84118.

Snyder, Norma Maxine
Norma Maxine Snyder 1920 ~ 2005 Norma M. Snyder was born the third of five
children to William E. and Lula M. (Reynolds) Savieo in Cleveland, Ohio on
April 10, 1920. She married Ken Snyder in 1947 and they had three children;
Saundra, Ron and Mary Jo. Norma passed away peacefully on April 26, 2005.
Norma and family lived for years in Ohio before relocating to Tooele in the
early 1960's to follow her employment at Tooele Army Depot. She retired from
Computer Operations at TEAD in July of 1986. She is survived by her three
children: Saundra of California, Ron (Thelma) and Mary Jo of Tooele; two
grandsons and two great-grand-daughters. She was predeceased by her husband,
parents and four siblings. Services will be held on Monday May 2, 2005 at 10
a.m. at St. Marguerite's Catholic Church, 510 East Vine St. in Tooele. Friends
may call at Tate Mortuary, 110 So Main St. Tooele, on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. A
vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Interment in the Tooele City Cemetery.

Stats, Gladys Hasty
Gladys Hasty Stats 1921 ~ 2005 Gladys Hasty Stats, 84, beloved wife, mother
and grandmother passed away peacefully on Friday, April 29, 2005. She was born
February 27, 1921 in Pocatello, Idaho. Her parents were John A. Hasty and
Thelma E. Stone. She married Michael Stats, Jr. on July 7, 1940 and their
marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on November 21, 1963.
Her greatest joy in life was serving others. She spent many hours giving
compassionate service to her family, friends and neighbors. She loved to
travel with her eternal companion, Michael. They shared many memorable trips
and cruises together throughout the world. In addition to her husband and
church, her life was centered around her family. Her sweet and giving spirit
will forever be remembered. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many church positions. She was a
member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She worked for the Federal
Government and retired in 1981. She was preceded in death earlier this month
by her husband. She is survived by her sons, Ken (Kathryn) Stats, Phillip
(Kathleen) Stats, Keith (deceased) (Jeannie) Stats; grandchildren, Deborah,
Deanna, Denise, Eric, Matt, Jason, Josh, Jared, Ian, Callie, Kelly, Amanda and
13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon, Tuesday, May
3, at the Douglas Ward, 730 South 1200 East, Salt Lake City, Utah. Friends may
visit Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South
Temple, and at the ward Tuesday from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. Burial will be in the
Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Stoll, Curt
Curt Stoll 1907 ~ 2005 Curt Stoll, 98, passed away on April 30, 2005 in
Bountiful, Utah. He was born on March 25, 1907, in Erfurt, Germany, to
Berthold Stoll and Friedericke Verges Stoll. He married Cecilia Sandmann
(later divorced), later he married, Margarett Timm Zerull whom preceded him in
death. Curt was an active member of the LDS church where he served a mission
in Germany before moving to the United States. He loved doing temple work,
attending every day for the last 14 years. Curt enjoyed classical music,
reading, mountains, swimming in the ocean, bowling, baseball games, and
traveling. He is survived by his daughter, Mildred Miriam Stoll Herbest
(Frank) of North Carolina; four stepchildren, Glen (Danielle) Zerull of
Mexico; Ruth (Dr. Farrell) Kirk of Morgan, Utah; Roy (Joanne) Zerull of West
Valley City, Utah; and Leone (Jerry) Hambleton of Bountiful, Utah. He is also
survived by 23 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2005, 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at
the Holladay Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 South Highland Drive. Graveside
services will follow at 11 a.m. at the Holladay Memorial Cemetery, 4900 South
Memory Lane. We would like to thank the staff of the Inn at the Barton Creek
Retirement Residence and the staff of Orchard Cove Hospice for their care of
Curt.

Taylor, Wendell Earl
Wendell Earl Taylor, DDS 1924 ~ 2005 Wendell Earl Taylor passed away
peacefully at home on April 29, 2005, surrounded by his family. He was born
October 21, 1924 to Golden and Evelyn Madsen Taylor in Payson, Utah. In 1949
he married his lifelong sweetheart, Joyce Beverly Johnson, in the Salt Lake
LDS Temple and together raised six children. Upon turning eighteen, Wendell
enlisted in the military service as a Naval aviator. Flying the F4 Corsair as
a First Lieutenant in the Marine Corps, he survived a plane crash in China on
April 1, 1946. Despite this scare, flying remained a passion throughout his
life. He built two airplanes and loved the excitement of acrobatic maneuvers
and the thrill of moving freely through the air. Wendell graduated from BYU
and later from dental school at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco
where he and Joyce made many lifelong friends. He practiced dentistry in Salt
Lake City for over 40 years. He was active in the Salt Lake Dental Society
where he served as President and was on the state Board of Dental Examiners.
Wendell loved to explore, and upon settling in Utah bought the first of many
Jeeps, making countless journeys into the wide-open spaces of Utah and the
West with his family and friends. Glen Canyon, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef, The
San Rafael Swell, and Robbers Roost were only a few of the places he
frequented long before they became popular. He taught his kids to enjoy
water-sports, camping, horseback riding, Dutch oven cooking, skiing, and the
pleasure of many outdoor activities. His love of life and adventure earned him
many strong and loyal friends. Wendell is survived by Joyce, his wife of 55
years, his children; Jim and Mary Jane Taylor, Tom Taylor, Pete and Rachel
Taylor, John and Connie Taylor, John and Jane Merrill, Kent and Shelly
Christensen, nineteen grandchildren and one great-grand-child born this week
(all of Salt Lake City); and his dear sister Vivian Creer of Las Vegas,
Nevada; and brother Noel of Provo. Wendell was preceded in death by his
beloved daughter Wendy, his parents and two brothers: Sherm, and Grant (Ross).
Thanks to the many wonderful people that were lasting friends throughout his
life. Thanks to the VA Hospital, The Neighborhood House, and Arlington Hills
Care Center for providing excellent care. Funeral services will be held on
Tuesday, May 3rd at 12 noon at the Monument Park Second Ward located at 1005
So. 2000 E. in Salt Lake City. A time to greet Joyce and the family will be
held at 11 a.m. prior to the funeral service. A viewing will also be held
Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary located at 2350

Thomas, Jeremy Donya
Jeremy Donya Thomas 1989 ~ 2005 Jeremy Donya Thomas, 15, died in a car
accident Wednesday, April 27, 2005, one day before his sixteenth birthday.
Jeremy was born in Heidelberg, Germany on April 28, 1989, he has lived in Port
Townsend, Washington; Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas; and then Salt Lake City -
Murray areas. He was a tenth-grade student at Creekside High School. Jeremy
was a handsome, well-liked young man of wholesome personality. He liked
sports, particularly basketball. He was helpful, polite, and respectful of his
elders and others. He had just completed his driver's education. He was about
to be ordained a priest in the Aaronic Priesthood of The Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-day Saints, into which he had been baptized three months ago.
Taken at the prime of his young life, his death is a tragedy and a serious
loss to his family, his friends, and the world. He is survived by his mother,
Zan L. Thomas; sister, Jazmine L. Thomas, both of Murray, Utah; father SFC
James R. Thomas of Fort Hood, Texas; grandparents, Frank and Loana Anderson,
Idaho Falls, Idaho; grandmother Ethel Lois Britt Thomas, Las Vegas, Nevada;
grandfather, Lee Willie Thomas, Sr., Lawton, Oklahoma; great-grandmother, Mary
Barrowes, Salt Lake City; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. His family
wishes to thank all of the people who have called, visited, brought food and
offered emotional support in this unfortunate situation. Funeral services for
Jeremy will be held on Monday May 2, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the South Cottonwood
Stake Center, 1250 East 4800 South, where friends may call at the church from

Robin Rae Russell Thompson 10/20/59 ~ 4/27/05 My Sweet Angel I asked for a
little longer - Death managed a smile. "You're right," I conceded; "How could
I have been so foolish?" Cancer finally got me - got me good. But only my
body. Turns out that Plato was right; the soul is immortal! Death has no
sting, but it did create a change of address. A few final thoughts, if I may:
Cory, my love for you is eternal - you will forever be an inextricable part of
my soul. Boys, how much I love each of you and appreciated being your Mother.
Help Dad in the kitchen, and don't forget to change your socks! To extended
family and friends: Thanks for your love and friendship; it's been a wonderful
journey. And by-the-way, Dad; Mom is more beautiful than ever! Robin is
preceded in death by her mother Bonnie Russell. She leaves behind husband
Cory; sons Jason, Logan, and Dylan; father Richard R. Russell; brother Kyle
Russell; sister Cindy (Kim) Clark; and let's not forget the many nieces and
nephews on all sides of the family. Robin and her family wish to thank those

Van Wagoner, Mary
Mary G. Wood Van Wagoner "We Love You" Mary Gertrude Wood Van Wagoner, 79,
beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, died after
a lingering illness on April 27, 2005 at her home in Holladay, with loving
family members by her side. Mom was born on February 5, 1926 in Layton Utah,
the daughter of Clifford U. Wood and Gertrude Willey Wood. She grew up in
Layton, graduating from Davis High School in 1944. Mom served an LDS mission
in Texas. It was there that mom met her eternal companion, Robert Van Wagoner,
whom she married on August 11, 1947 in Elko, Nevada. Their marriage was later
solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. During her life mom held several church
positions. Mother devoted her life to her family, being a wife, mother and
homemaker. Spending time with her grandchildren, working in her rose garden
and canning brought mom great pleasure. She is survived by daughters LeAnn
Woldruff (Chris), Suzanne Everette and Robyn Van Wagoner; grandchildren Sean
Richardson, Mikel Richardson (Erica), Julia "Mae" Miller (Jonathan) and
Hillary Raleigh; great-grandchildren Madeline, River, Jaiden, Sarah, Dylan,
and Khalil; sisters Amy Jean Sanders, and Vonda Yarbrough; brothers Lynn Wood,
Calvin Wood and Brent Wood; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by
her husband, her parents, brother Junior and sister Maudell. Funeral services
will be held Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at 12 noon, Cottonwood Third Ward, 6301
South 2300 East. Friends may call Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E.

Vogel, Arnold Albert
Arnold Albert Vogel 1906 ~ 2005 Arnold Albert Vogel, age 98, passed away on
April 28, 2005 in Salt Lake City. Born to Eberhard H. and Minnie L. Vogel on
September 20, 1906. He married Lula May Freeman. Arnold spent his adult life
in Southern California and for the last 18 years lived with his son Rod and
daughter-in-law Pauline Vogel. He is survived by numerous grandchildren and
great grandchildren. He will be remembered for his generosity. He shared his
meager resources freely with family and friends. He loved his family
unconditionally. "It takes a tough guy to live to be 98 years old." Our family
would like to thank Gayle Patterson of IHC home health care and Dr. Mark Rada
for their compassionate service and neighbors Glen and Linda Reich for
Christian service above and beyond the call. Funeral services will be Monday,
May 2 at 12:00 at the East Mill Creek 16th Ward chapel at 3408 South Celeste
Way, Salt Lake City, 84109. The family will receive friends an hour before the
service. Interment will be held at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of

Ward, Shannon Lea
Shannon Lea Ward 9/11/64 ~ 4/19/05 Our beautiful, cherished daughter, sister,
granddaughter, niece and cousin passed away unexpectedly from natural causes,
April 19 in Salt Lake City. Shannon was born in Tucson, Arizona and moved with
her family to Salt Lake City in 1971, where she attended local schools through
junior high. She graduated from high school in La Canada, CA in 1982 and
briefly attended junior college in Los Angeles. She returned to Salt Lake
City, the place she always considered home, in 1990. For a short time she
worked on research projects at the U of U dept. of Anesthesiology - an
experience she thoroughly enjoyed. Her true calling, however, was massage
therapy and in 1993 she graduated from the Utah School of Massage Therapy. She
also completed training as an aesthetician. Shannon was truly a unique
individual. She loved her family, her beloved cat, Sam, who shared so much of
her life, Rock 'n Roll music, the beautiful mountains, and her teddy bear
collection. She was creative and enjoyed working in "found object" and montage
art. She was bright, intuitive, perceptive, and had a flair for the dramatic
and a devastating sense of humor. Shannon was special person, an indomitable
spirit and indelible presence for those who knew her. She had loving heart and
a caring free spirit. She will be forever loved and missed. Survived by her
devoted parents Bruce and Jan Ward of Phoenix, Arizona, formerly of Salt Lake
City; brother Sean of Portland, Oregon; grandmother Donna Aalbu of Buhl,
Idaho; locally by uncle and aunt Erik and Linda Ward; and cousins Lindy
Vandyke, Amy and Michael Ward of Ogden. Survivors also include many loving
aunts, uncles and cousins across the country. A family memorial was held at
Sundance, April 30. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made in Shannon's
name to the Humane Society.

Wilcox, Irving Wilson
Irving Wilson Wilcox Together Again Irving Wilson Wilcox, born August 3, 1917
in Hyrum, Utah. Died of natural causes April 25, 2005, in Holladay, Utah
surrounded by his loving family. Oldest child of Irving Crabbe Wilcox and
Nancy Mary Wilson Wilcox. Brothers: Keith (Viva Mae), Leland (Gloria
deceased), Ronald (Norma deceased). Married Irma Langford August 11, 1941 in
Ogden, Utah. Later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Five children were
born in this happy union, Arnold (Kathy), Steven (Kim), Michael (Gayle),
Douglas (Gisele), and daughter, Marilyn, 33 grandchildren and 29
great-grandchildren. Irv was very active in Scouting and was honored, along
with his wife, Irma, with the Silver Beaver award in 1974. His good influence
on young men will be felt for a long time. He spent 42 years at AT&T. Irv was
a great fisherman and outdoorsman and spent many years of his youth in the
High Uinta Mountains. He had a kind and generous heart, always putting other's
needs before his own. Irv had a wonderful sense of humor and kept us laughing
until the end. Irv was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints and enjoyed fulfilling many callings faithfully. He and Irma were
lifetime members of the Ward Choir who enjoyed his deep bass voice. He is
already greatly missed by his family and friends. Preceded in death by his
sweetheart Irma in 1989 and grandson, Morgan Wilcox. Funeral proceedings will
be held Monday, May 2, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Holladay First Ward Chapel on

Young, Darrell
Darrell Young 1918 ~ 2005 Darrell Tippetts Young, age 86, passed away on April
27, 2005 in Salt Lake City. He was born August 27, 1918 in Preston, Idaho to
Verle and Edith Young. He attended the University of Utah. Married Kathryn
Crane on March 7, 1942 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Darrell T. Young was an active
and avid skier, golfer, and fisherman. He served as Director of engineering
for Kennecott Copper and guided many large projects to successful completion.
He also served with distinction in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a
radio officer. For his meritorious service he was awarded the American Area
Ribbon, Victory Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Ribbon and Philippine theater Ribbon.
Survived by spouse Kathryn Young, daughter Roberta Anne, son Cary Darrell and
two grandchildren, Mark Cary and Jeffrey Austin. The family will receive
friends on Sunday, May 1, 2005 from 5 - 7 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401
Highland Drive. Funeral services will be held at the Holladay 18th ward, 2625
E. Milo Way, at 12 noon. There will be a viewing one hour prior to the
services. Interment to follow at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.

Youngberg, Lucile Thorne
Lucile Thorne Youngberg 1925 ~ 2005 Lucile Thorne Youngberg died April 27,
2005 of natural causes. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved
her. Lucile was born January 1, 1925 to John Franklin Thorne and Lillie
Carline Holdaway in Salt Lake City, Utah. She married Boyd Otto Youngberg on
September 6, 1947 and recently celebrated their fifty-seventh anniversary.
Lucile was a loving devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and
friend to everyone. She was a great cook and we will miss her homemade bread.
Mom enjoyed people, animals, pretty lights, bingo, and trips to Wendover.
Lucile is survived by her husband and four children; Linda (Eric) Moser,
Stratton, Colorado; Susan (Darrell) Petersen, Taylorsville; Jenny (Larry) Dew,
Lehi; and Michael Youngberg, Murray. They were blessed with 15 grandchildren
and 21 great-grand children. Preceded in death by her sister, Dora Simister
Anderson. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Monday, May 2, 2005 at
Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State St. Friends may call Sunday, May 1st
from 6-8 p.m. and Monday 11:00-11:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Wasatch
Lawn. Our family wishes to express sincere thanks to the staff of Hearts for
