Reed B. Argyle 1928 ~ 2005 Reed Betts Argyle, our loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully in his home Friday, May 13, 2005 at the age of 77. Born May 9, 1928 in Payson, Utah the son of Ivan and Venetta Betts Argyle. He married Gladys Haskell November 2, 1950; she preceded him in death. He later married Dorothy Bearnson July 11, 1969 in the Salt Lake Temple. They made their home in Payson where they have resided for 36 years. Dad served in the Navy during World War II. He worked as an Air Traffic Controller in Kansas City; a silver mine in Butte, Montana; with Geneva Steel for many years; and retired as a Superintendent of US Postal Operations. Reed was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as a ward/stake financial clerk more than 30 years and enjoyed giving service to many. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, and had a passion for flying. He loved being surrounded by family and carrying on family traditions. Reed is survived by his wife, Dorothy of 36 years; his children, Joy Argyle Jasperson, Shaun Argyle, Edward Bearnson, and Karen (Kevin) Harward; seven grandchildren; brothers, Jack and Howard Argyle; sister, La-Verne Larsen; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gladys Haskell Argyle; and his sister, Lillian Irick. Dad was cherished by all who knew him. He will be forever remembered for his love of family and his kind spirit. Funeral services will be held Wed-nesday, 11 a.m. at the Payson Mountain View Stake Center, 600 East 75 South, where family and friends may visit Tuesday, 6-8 p.m., and again Wednesday, 10-10:45 a.m. Interment will follow in the Payson City Cemetery. Aubele, 95, was taken by our Lord May 12, 2005 from Hospice Of The Valley, Scottsdale, AZ. He was born in San Francisco. CA Jan. 6, 1910 to Clara and Max Aubele. Herb was a Master Brewer, graduating from Seibela College Of Brewing in 1939. He was very active in the brewing industry, as was his father, where both held many positions in the Western Brewery Assoc. functions. Herb, along with his wife, Elda and family, were among the original members of St. Ambrose Parish, meeting at the "We-Ask-You-Inn" restaurant even before the church was built. He was the first president of the St. Ambrose "49er's club. He was a lifelong paying member of the Elks Lodge for 55 years, and enjoyed gardening, golfing, and people. He truly enjoyed his last 15 years at Palm Lakes Village retirement Center in Phoenix, following his move from Glen Arbor (Christmas Street) in Salt Lake City, Utah. He is survived by his wife Elda, of 70 years; sisters, EIeanor Thompson and Melba Holderman; daughter, Delores and Bill Murray, Houston, Texas; son, Dennis and Darlene Aubele, Phoenix, Arizona; eight grandchildren, nine great-grand-children, three great great-grand-children. Pratt Baker. Married Dolores France in 1948, later divorced. Married Ivy P. Fowler on October 5, 1957 in Elko, Nevada, later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Served in the United States Navy during World War II. Active member of the LDS Church where he served as Stake Young Men's President, scout leader, Ward Executive Secretary, Branch Presidency, and various other church callings. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather, and introduced himself to all children as "grandpa". Survived by his children Carol McIlrath, Arthur Sipes (Jan), Dennis Baker (Valerie), Randy Baker (Ronalee), Karen Richardson (Mike), Byron Baker (Kellie), and Matthew Baker; 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grand-children; brother Orson Baker; and sister Reva Bartlett (Bill). Bentley, Fonda Mower Fonda M Bentley "Gretchen" Fonda Mower Bentley died May 9, 2005 after a long illness. Fonda was born in Fairview, Utah June 6, 1929. She married Richard Buddy Bentley December 15, 1949 in Salt Lake City. Fonda was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a retiree of the U.S. Post Office. Fonda was a smart witty woman who lived life to its fullest. She will be missed by those who loved her. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, and two sisters. She is survived by her sons, Richard, Lyman Merrill (Donna Sees), Robert Kent (Shawna); and daughter, Sara Wright; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Bonza 1917 ~ 2005 Lou Bonza, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away May 13, 2005 at his home in the Sugar House area of Salt Lake City. He was born in Woodside, Utah, in 1917 to Fred and Ambrosina Bonza. He graduated from Carbon High School in Price, Utah and went on to the University of Utah. He joined Lockheed Aircraft Corporation in 1941. That same year he married his first wife, Mary Elizabeth Beveridge of Price, Utah, and had two sons, Charles and Edward. Lou worked until retirement at Lockheed in the Skunk Works as a key contributing mechanical engineer for the high altitude aircraft designs of the U-2 and SR-71 spy planes used before the age of satellites. He retired to Salt Lake City near his favorite university, where he lived for the last 33 years. During this time, neighbors, friends and family appreciated his active work at fixing anything and everything. Many tried to stump him with a project and he was pleased that somehow he always figured it out. After his first wife, Mary, passed away, he was most fortunate to have a great lady named Gwen enter his life and they have been married for 16 years. Traveling together to France, South Africa, New Zealand, and Australia, they built a fine set of memories and adventures. Lou is survived by his wife, Gwen; two sisters, Adele Carlow of Price, Utah and Josephine Vieta of Salt Lake City; Chuck (wife Dale) and Ed his two sons; and three granddaughters, Wendy, Tami and Nicole. Always looking forward, friend to all, and always eager to help are just a few phrases that characterize what people remember and say about Lou. We celebrate his life and will miss him dearly. Briggs, Hortense Lyman Hortense Lyman Briggs "Tennie" Tennie passed away to be with loved ones who preceded her in death May 13, 2005 surrounded by her family. Born Oct 9, 1923 to Maurice and Mearl Lyman. Her life was filled with physical trials but she always kept her spark for life. Preceded in death by husband, Ron; parents; three brothers; and many other loved ones. Survived by six children, Bonnie Lee (Terry) Williams, Jane (Hugh) Higgins, Aubry (Cathy) Briggs, Colleen (Carey) Denning, Sue Fawcett; 14 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and last but not least, the one who cared for her after our father passed on, her son, Robert Bob Briggs. Childs, Eldora Eldora Childs 1912 ~ 2005 Eldora Alice York Braithwaite Childs, 92, passed away after a valiant fight with congestive heart failure and diabetes May 10, 2005. Eldora was and continues to be an extraordinary light to those in this ordinary world. Her dedication to the Lord, her family and her friends was unmatched. She stretched her heart easily to love and serve all around her. Our tears are of sorrow because we will miss her, of gratitude because we are blessed to have known her, and of joy because we know we will be with her again. Born October 21, 1912 in Santaquin, Utah. She married Victor Braith-waite and later divorced. She married her eternal sweetheart (Bob) September 8, 1944. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple November 9, 1963. Eldora enjoyed singing with many church choirs, helping with flowers at funerals, preparing and serving food at banquets and serving as a visiting teacher more than 60 years. She was always serving her family and recalled fondly that she crocheted a bedspread for each of her three children. She was always full of life and especially loved to dance, play softball, and go fishing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Childs; her parents, Rolla and Alice (Carter) York; her three brothers, Marvin, Floyd, and Rolla York, and her sister, Ada Olson. She is survived by three children, Gary V. (Marcia) Braithwaite of Orem, Marlene (Steve) Argyle of Bountiful, Lynda (David) Broadbent of Santaquin, 13 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and four great great-grandchildren. Born July 22, 1918 in Salt Lake City, UT to George L. and Elizabeth Barnes Burt. Graduated West High School. Married Raymond G. Colbert May 1, 1937; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Loving mother of 13 children, 36 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren, and three great great-grandchildren. Mother Colbert was a very active LDS Church member. She dearly loved and cherished all of her family members. She had a particular fondness for music. She will be sorely missed by all. Couch, Shirley Elizabeth Jensen Shirley Elizabeth Jensen Couch Well Done, Thou Good and Faithful Servant Shirley Elizabeth Jensen Couch, 81, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2005 in Nephi, Juab County, Utah. Born April 17, 1924 in Huntington, Emery County, Utah to Rosel J and Flora Mabel Johnson Jensen. She graduated from North Emery High in Huntington in 1942, where she was in 4-H, many clubs, plays, and musicals. She was salutatorian of her graduating class. She graduated from LDS Seminary and earned a Golden Gleaner Award. After graduating from Utah State Agricultural College, she taught elementary school in Tooele County, Salt Lake School District, and Granite School District for 16 years. She received a Master's Degree from the University of Utah in 1969 and was a counselor at Granite High School for 15 years, making a total of 31 years in education. Shirley was an active and dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She interrupted her teaching career in 1962-64 to serve an LDS mission in the Florida Mission. She served in many positions in the Church including the LDS Singles Program for 22 years. Shirley has spent her entire life serving others, her family, church and education. She was a very busy, loving and loved lady! Survived by her daughter Rebecca (Becky) and Doug (JD) Roberts, Fairview; three grandchildren, Gregory (Cindy) Roberts, Salt Lake City; Kimberly Roberts, Ephraim; Kristen (Steven) Hacking, Vernal; six great-grandchildren, Tyler Roberts, Chad, Scott, Todd, Rick, and Karra Elizabeth Hacking; four sisters Bertha Mae (Phil) Edmunds, Enoch; Joan (Jerry) Huntsman, Sandy; Beverly Petersen, Salt Lake City; and Bessie Gay (Karl) Burkholz, Salt Lake City; and many nieces and nephews. Cox, V. Loraine V. Loraine Cox 1908 ~ 2005 ST. GEORGE, UT - Vinal Loraine Cox, 97, passed away suddenly May 12, 2005 at his home in St. George, UT. On Feb. 25, 1908 Loraine was born in St. George, UT to Mary Etta Lee and Warren Cox. He was the seventh of 11 children. He married his childhood sweetheart Anna Carter Sept. 12, 1929 in the St. George Temple. Five children were born unto this union, Loretta, Joanna, Gerald, Sylvia and James. Anna preceded him in death May 7, 1994 and his daughter, Joanna, Dec. 22, 1934. He married another childhood friend, Lutie Lytle Lamb, Nov. 14, 1996. She preceded him in death Feb. 19, 2003. Loraine grew up in St. George and had six sisters and four brothers, Leona Atkin, Lida Prince, Irene Brooks, Noma Bentley, Marie Meeks, Areta Church, Warren "Lee", Melvin and Ken. Paul Raymond died at birth. Their father Warren owned the old Arrowhead Hotel on Tabernacle Street and the children worked there for their father. Loraine graduated from Dixie High School where he played basketball and was the last surviving member of the championship team Dixie Flyers. He received the All-American award at the basketball finals in Chicago in 1928 and All-Around track athlete award in nine events. He broke the high school high jump record in 1928 and held the record for 28 years. The University of Utah gave Loraine a four year basketball scholarship and he received a degree in business. He won the All-Around athletic award from the U. of U. for the four years he attended. Loraine worked most of his life managing McCoard Oil Company at 500 N. Bluff. He was the first to haul gas into southern Utah from L.A., CA for Warren Cox & Sons' Super Station on Main and Tabernacle. He was the first to haul diesel for the City of St. George Power plant and did this for many years. He and Wes Nelson hauled all the first water pipe for the city waterline from Cottonwood Springs to St. George. He owned a farm in Enterprise, UT, a 640 acre farm in Milford, UT, a ranch in Central, UT and a dairy in St. George. In 1944 he went to Arlington, AZ, to manage a cattle ranch during World War II. He helped start the Dixie REA Power Company with Leon Bowler and was on the first board of directors. He was president of the St. George Lion's Club in 1956. Loraine was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and worked 60 years in the St. George Temple starting as an ordinance worker in the baptistery and ended his work as a sealer. He was still working six mornings a week in the temple until he died. He and his wife, Anna, served a mission in Virginia and North Carolina. He participated in many community activities, the Lion's Club, rodeos, Square Dance Club, started the Dixie College Colonels Club 50 years ago with Sark Arslanian, Leon Watson, and Charlie Pickett. He was honored with an award from the Utah State Athletic Hall of Fame. Loraine is survived by his children, Loretta Cox, St. George, UT, Gerald Loraine Cox (Deanna), Central, UT, Sylvia Ann Ence (Quentin), Ivins, UT, and James Carter Cox (Ramona), St. George, UT; and niece, Camellia Carter Higgins (Larry), St. George, UT. He leaves 22 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren, and 21 great-great-grandchildren that were very much loved. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 16, 2005 at 11 a.m. in the St. George 19th Ward, 550 E. 700 S. Chapel. A visitation will be held Sunday, May 15, from 6-8 p.m., at the Metcalf Mortuary, 288 W. St. George Blvd. and Monday, May 16, from 9:30-10:30 a.m., prior to services at the chapel. Davis, Margaret Ann Margaret Ann Davis 1928 ~ 2005 Margaret Ann Davis, age 76, passed away May 13, 2005 at home in Salt Lake City surrounded by her loved ones. She was born November 29, 1928 in College Hill, KY to Carrie Maud Ginter and Dudley Clay Berryman. She graduated from Irving High. Married Carl Davis in February of 1975 in the Salt Lake Temple. Ann enjoyed dancing, collecting dolls, Clark Bars, and sitting in the porch swing. She organized Neighborhood Watch, worked with the handicapped Boy Scouts, taught Sunday School at the prison and worked in the Festival of Trees for 11 years. She always said, "Do Not Weep" "My Children Are My Life." Survived by special friends and family, Carrie Ann, Paul Dudley, Dorothy Katherine, Mary Esther; 15 grandchildren; 121/2 great-grand-children; Susan Fulsome, Terri Lerma, Jeff Jessup, Sonna Headrick, the chatterbugs; and her beloved dog, Indy. Preceded in death by husband, Carl Edward; brother, Buster; and daughter, Patricia Ellen. He was born July 20th, 1924 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Nicholas and Kula Degles. He married Shirley J. Leonis, September 11, 1977 and from that day on never left her side. All of us close to him called him "Georgie Porgie." His zest for life, adventure zeal, and the love for Shirley made for a wonderful and exciting life. Georgie was an avid fisherman his whole life, an excellent skier up to last season, and a darn good golfer. He served his country and was a Sergeant in the Marines in World War II. He later joined the US Army and served for 27 years retiring as a Major. He worked as a buyer for Cystron Donner Electronics out of CA. He was a factory rep in Salt Lake City until his full retirement. Georgie and Shirley were fortunate enough to be able to travel the world over. Georgie will be deeply missed. His way of making everyone he met smile, his little songs from the past, and his very down to earth dry sense of humor were truly one of a kind. Married Verna Jeanne Freston on August 18, 1953 in the Salt Lake Temple. He received the Silver Beaver from the Boy Scouts. Loved missionary work and his pioneer heritage. Survived by daughters, Dora Jeanne Pulley and Cindy Ann Carlson; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; siblings, Delsa Wilson, Kay Durfee, Melba Bolton and Janet Durfee. Born April 11, 1904 in Malad City, Idaho to Charles William and Elizabeth Centenial Bell. She was preceded in death by all nine of her brothers and sisters, Arvel, Lizzie, Nora, May, Victor, Vila, Lenna, Fay, and Delen. She looked forward to being reunited with them in the afterlife. He was born October 2, 1920, to Wilford James and Cloketa Pickering Ellsworth, in Payson, Utah. He married Louise Webb of Payson, Utah, on January 26,1946 at Las Vegas, Nevada. They are the parents of two sons, Kaye Webb Ellsworth and Brad William Ellsworth. He was educated in Payson schools and graduated from Payson High School. He served his country during World War II, serving in General George Patton's Third Army Corps of Engineers. He served in nine campaigns from Africa through Sicily, Italy, France and Germany. Ken was a hard worker. He was a master builder, having worked on many of the large hotels in Las Vegas, where he and his wife lived for 53 years. He recently returned to live in Lehi, Utah. He lived life to its fullest. He had a keen sense of humor and a love of life. In his early years he loved to fish and hunt. He was nearly taken from us in 1990 when an aneurysm burst on his aorta. He had failing health since, but he had great determination to live. He was a High Priest in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints He is survived by Louise, his wife of 59 years; his sons, Kaye Ellsworth and Brad (Lynette) Ellsworth; nine grandchildren and three great-grand-children; two sisters, Evelyn (Curtis) Page, Payson and Deanna (Gary) Stokes of North Ogden. She was an active member of the LDS Church and faithfully served in many church callings. Until recently she was still serving as a visiting teaching supervisor. She had many interests and talents. She was president of the Salt Lake Branch of the NAACP for 12 years. Norval was part of the graduating class of 1943 from Utah State University. Norval retired from Geneva Steel in 1976 and later served a mission with his wife from 1977 to 1979 in the Nevada Las Vegas Mission. He held many positions in the church including a scoutmaster, ward clerk, home teacher, and a Seventies president. His greatest joy was his family and children. Some of his other joys included gardening, camping, hunting, and fishing. He is survived by his sisters, Hazel (Art) Collins of Logan, Utah, and Beverly (Al) Morris of Lyons, Colorado; brothers, Larry Kitchen of Orem, Utah, and Arlo (Fern) Kitchen of Pro-vidence, Utah; his children, Sherman (Margaret) Kitchen, Darrell (Karen) Kitchen, LaRae (John) Moosman, Steven (Caline) Kitchen, Norma (James) Brookes, and Rosalie Kitchen; a daughter-in-law, Chris Kitchen; 55 grandchildren; and 123 great-grand-children. Lancaster, Edward Lee Edward Lee Lancaster Will Be Missed Edward Lee Lancaster died peacefully May 12, 2005 after a battle with cancer. Ed had a love for life and enjoyed many things. He loved flying airplanes and was an accomplished pilot, he loved to travel and spend time at his cabin in Tabiona. He was a very talented artist who at one time worked as a cartoonist for Walt Disney. Ed and a partner began 3P Company, a screen-printing business, in 1953 that is still owned and operated by his son. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. After the war he married Dorothy Leigh in 1952. After 47 wonderful years of marriage she passed away in 1999. He reunited with his high school sweetheart, Marjorie Williams. They were married in April of 2000. Ed is survived by his wife, Marge; sons, E.L. (Denise), Drake (Terry); sons-in-law, Steve Williams (Vickie), Eric Williams; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandson. McDonald, 69, died Friday, May 13, 2005 at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden following a good battle and a long fight with cancer. He served with the U.S. Air Force for four years. Don retired from Hill Air Force Base after 35 years of service in data operations. He served as a Scout Leader and enjoyed coaching athletics. Don also enjoyed hunting, fishing, genealogy, and coin collecting. He served as President of the Ogden Chapter of the NRA. Dalene was a happy baby and had an older sister and brother to play with and be taught the ways of childhood, which she passed on to a younger sister who came along. Dalene grew up in Midvale, Utah, attending church, school and making many friends. She graduated from Jordan High School, Class of 1961. She went on to computer school and a job at the ZCMI Store in downtown Salt Lake City, where as she was proud to say, she shook hands with Bob Hope. She then accepted a job with Hemenway and Moser Co., a candy and sundries wholesaler. There she met a guy named Eugene R. McPhee Jr. After about two years of dating, they were married on May 16, 1969. Dalene is preceded in death by her parents, aunts, uncles, and a few cousins. She is survived by her husband, Eugene; daughter, Karen Gores; granddaughter, Kailee Ann Gores; sister, Jo An Maul; brother, Jerry A. Patrick July 4, 1940 in Richfield, Idaho. In 1941 they headed for California, but settled in Salt Lake where Pearl spent the rest of her life in the shadow of her beloved Wasatch Mountains. Potter, Alfred (Al) Alfred (Al) Potter 1931 ~ 2005 Alfred (Al) Potter died April 22, 2005 at the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah of complications due to age while surrounded by his loved ones. Alfred was born May 15, 1931 to Charlie and Kate Kofford Potter. He was raised in Boneta, Duchesne County. Al served as a U.S. Marine in the Korean War and was the recipient of the Purple Heart award and numerous other military decorations. After the war Al began driving 18-wheelers cross-country. He continued in this profession until he retired. Alfred is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He married Leona V. Salt in 1956 (divorced). They were the parents of four children: Katherine Oliai, California; Julia Potter, Salt Lake; Ernest W., Salt Lake; and Sharla (Dave) Torgerson, Salt Lake. Alfred has 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Al later married Jean Binkard (divorced). He spent the later years of his life with his wife Bonnie (Nita). The couple lived in Fielding and Vernal, where they loved to fish in the High Unitas. Alfred was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, as well as his brothers; Carl and Warnel and his sister Pauline Hadden. He was born in Logan, Utah January 3, 1950 to Marilyn and Harlan Pulsipher. "Bob" Robinson "Gone Golfing" 1933 ~ 2005 BOUNTIFUL - Bob Robinson of Bountiful, Utah, passed away May 13, 2005 while doing what he loved. . . golfing. Bob was born December 1, 1933 in Salt Lake City, Utah and the oldest of four children born to Ella and Leo Robinson. He graduated from West High School where he excelled as an athlete, then went on to attend the University of Utah. As a result of an injury sustained by his father he took on the responsibility of providing for his siblings and parents. He subsequently took several sales positions before settling in with the marketing department at Mountain Bell where he retired after 20 years in 1985. During his career he made many close friends which meant a lot to him over the years. Bob met and fell in love with Penny Reed while working at Salt Lake Hardware. They were blessed with three wonderful children, Todd Robinson, Steven Robinson, and Heather Robinson Akre. He has been further blessed with 11 grandchildren: Chelsea, Shelby, Amria, Levi, Penny, Yvonne, Trygg, Ryan, Kyle, Brady, and Justin. His passions in life were his family, his friends, coaching his teams, playing golf and spending time with his wife and children. He was a lifelong member of the LDS faith, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Bob was a personable and generous man with always a kind word and a smile to everyone. He had many friends that will miss his warmth, graciousness and friendship. As a husband, father, and friend he was patient, nurturing and loving. Smart, Eldon Reid Eldon Reid Smart 1930 ~ 2005 Eldon Reid Smart, 75, son of H.B. and Annie Reid Smart, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2005 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Salt Lake City on February 19, 1930. Graduated from South High in 1948, where he earned All State Honors in Football. Attended Mesa College in Grand Junction, Colorado on a football scholarship. Married his high school sweetheart Phyllis Pyper. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on September 18, 1951. They were blessed with five sons and two daughters. Retired from D&RGW Railroad after 44 years. Served in the following capacities: Local Union Chairman, General Chairman, member of the National Railroad Adjustment Board in Chicago and elected International Vice President in Kansas City, Missouri. He loved all his church callings, especially the many years he served as Bishop. Eldon is survived by his wife of 57 years, five sons: Randy (Nancy), Rick (Cheryl), Darrell (Sheila), David (Abby), Jeff (Kim), son-in-law Rory Boyakin (Lynn), sister Geraldine Capson, 35 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Stahle, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away May 13, 2005 at the age of 88. She was born September 1, 1916 in West Bountiful, Utah to Charles William and Elizabeth Garrett Atkinson. She married Keith L. Stahle November 24, 1941 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She attended Davis County Schools and graduated from Davis High School. Mother had a deep love for her family and was always there to encourage and comfort each one. Her many friends were greatly blessed by their association with her. Mother's home and gardens brought her great joy and comfort, and those who visited were always warmly received. She loved to read, keep up on current events, and appreciated good music. Crocheting, knitting, cooking, and playing the piano were some of the activities she also loved. She created beautiful handiwork pieces, of which many relatives and friends were the recipients. During the course of her life, Nora was a devoted and loving caregiver, having attended to her mother, sister, husband's parents, and especially her husband, Keith, in the last years of their lives. She was an active member of the LDS Church in the Bountiful First Ward. Mother had a strong testimony of the gospel and its truthfulness. She was faithful in her church callings and served unselfishly for 12 years in her ward and stake Relief Society Presidencies. Nora is survived by her sister, Barbara (Scott) Rice; daughter, Alice (Craig) Johnson, and their children, Walt, Wendy, Tracy and Heidi Beth; daughter, Mary (John) Hepworth, and their children, Kim, Heidi, Christopher, Michael and Jeffrey; daughter-in-law, Sharon W. Stahle, and her children, Susan, Phillip, Paul and Allison; and 22 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Keith; son, Richard; parents; brother; and three of her sisters. He married Helen Lind, June 22, 1938 in Twin Falls, Idaho. They celebrated their 65th anniversary just prior to her passing in July of 2003. After his retirement as a Real Estate Broker, he was crossing guard for 17 years at Adalaide Elementary School where he was endeared by the children as "Grandpa Jack". He loved his horses and he loved the scouts. As a faithful member of the LDS Church he served in many callings and varied church capacities. He received his B.A. from Stanford University and an M.S. in Library Science from Denver University. He was law librarian for White & Case of New York City. David loved books, classical music, good food, and the exchange of ideas. He kept nine parakeets. Weichers 1914 ~ 2005 Our beloved Clarence Weichers, age 90, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2005, surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren. Clarence was born September 18, 1914, to Eldredge Lawrence (Sharkey) and Annie Carruth Weichers. He married Orlene Olsen, who lived across the street on February 20, 1935. They recently celebrated their 70th anniversary. He will forever be remembered for his love of family. He cheered everyone up with his positive spirit and inexhaustible supply of funny stories. He is renown for his love of golf even until his 88th year. He has the unusual achievement of eight holes-in-one in his lifetime. He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 38 years. As a dispatcher, he made many lifelong friends. He became active in the LDS Church in the early 1960's and was sealed to his sweetheart and family in the Salt Lake Temple. At the time of his passing he was a High Priest in the Monument Park 5th Ward. He is survived by his wife, Orlene; his children, Merrill (Rosemary) Weichers of Orange, CA, Mike (Suki) Weichers of Draper, and Sheri (Steve) Kettle of Salt Lake City. He was also very proud of his 18 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. His father and mother preceded him in death.
