Clark passed away at home November 4, 2005 after a valiant struggle with cancer. Kay was born February 8, 1931 in Canada to Ross and Ruth Finch Hum-phries. Kay married Shirley Donohue and later divorced. He then married Lynn Roberts, January 1, 1980 in Reno, Nevada. Kay graduated as Valedic-torian at Tooele High School and then enlisted in the Navy. After his military service he worked for the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Department. He retired as a detective after 20 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Lynn; sons, Bill (Peggy) Clark, Mike (Norma) Clark; stepchildren, Rick (Nancy) Rose, Veronica (Lonnie) Smith; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara White; stepsister, Denise; and his faithful stepmother, Alice. He was preceded in death by his folks, Orville and Myrtle Clark. Cook, DuWayne In Loving Memory of DuWayne Cook 9/19/1929 ~ 11/5/2005 LAYTON - DuWayne Cook, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away at age 76 due to a courageous fight over injuries and complications he sustained in an automobile accident. He was born September 19, 1929 in Syracuse, Utah to Leonard and Leah Cook. He grew up in Syracuse and later moved to Great Fall, MT. On October 4, 1947 he ran away to marry the love of his life, Leone Marie Harant and spent the next 58 wonderful years together creating many family traditions that will live on forever. They had four beautiful daughters, Carma Kent (Robert), Carol Yamamoto (Sharm), Sherry Cox (Vance), and Susie who passed at a very early age. They have 11 loving grandchildren and 81/2 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Darlene Clark (Gill); son-in-law, Glen B. Jones; and his best friend and loving pet, Patty! Over his life, he has enjoyed rebuilding and restoring many cars with his former son-in-law, Glen Jones, but his pride went especially to his Show Trucks, that have received many trophies and plaques. He retired from HAFB where he had the opportunity to travel all around the world. He was awarded many high honors for his accomplishments. DuWayne was always ornery, and it was always his way or no way, but at the drop of a pin he would be there to help anyone. It is his knowledge and determination that will be missed as much in death as loved in life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Leah; one daughter, Susie; and a son-in-law, Robert. A special thanks to the many nurses and doctors who cared for him at Ogden Regional Medical Center ICU unit, and his very special doctor. We love and will miss him dearly. Crane, Helene Lund Helene Lund Crane 1927 ~ 2005 Helene Lund Crane, 78, passed away unexpectedly November 3, 2005 at her home in Bountiful, Utah. Born May 7, 1927 in Mt. Pleasant, Utah the daughter of Joseph and Augusta Weinreich Lund. She married John Richard Crane, an officer in the United States Air Force, December 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah; they lived in New Mexico, Okinawa, Texas and Nevada before returning to Utah. Helene was a secretary for the Utah Historical Society. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed crafts, painting, dance, gardening, and crocheting. She loved basketball and was an avid Jazz fan. She was a student of Tai Chi who studied with Master Lu. Her greatest joy was to lead one of his classes. She is survived by her children, Gray Crane, his wife, Daphne, Christene Roberson, her husband, Jack, Linda Bergquist, her husband, Jay; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Elizabeth McNulty. Ellis, John Jones John Jones Ellis 1/31/1959~10/30/2005 John Jones Ellis passed away October 30, 2005 in Boston, Mass. Born on January 31, 1959 in Salt Lake City, Utah, son of Wallace Hague Ellis and Sue Jones Ellis. In his early years John worked hard doing science fair work projects, practicing the piano, and becoming an Eagle Scout. He was a graduate of Highland High School and attended Northwestern University where he received a B.A. in 1981. He continued his education and received a JD from Boston University and a L.L.M. (taxation) from New York University School of Law in 1985. John practiced law in Boston for 20 years and was currently a member of the Law firm of Gesmer Updegrove. He enjoyed his profession and worked diligently pursuing excellence in all that he did. Among the degrees on his office wall was a certificate of award from Rosslyn Heights Elementary for perfect attendance in 1968. This was always an item of interest and amusement with colleagues and clients. John's sense of adventure began at a young age with summers at Bear Lake and trips with the family. He loved all water sports especially water skiing and in later years scuba diving, snorkeling and kayaking. He also enjoyed snow skiing and hiking in the beautiful mountains of Utah. John's love of travel was another interest that took him to destinations all over the world. Whether climbing the glaciers of Torres del Paine, running white water in Costa Rica or exploring the wonders of the Okavanga Delta in Botswana, John experienced every minute to the fullest. John had a wide host of friends in Boston, across the U.S. and all over the world. His loyalty and generosity were well known as was his lightening bolt wit. He will truly be missed but the memories are enduring. "John stories" will be told for years and always with a smile and a laugh. He is survived by his parents Hague and Sue Ellis, his brother Daniel, sisters Elaine (Henry Wurts) and Mary Ann (Brad Cassell) two darling nieces Emma and Madeline. Farnsworth, Anna Lou Anna Lou Farnsworth 1926 ~ 2005 Our Mom and "Granie" Anna Lou, age 79, left this world Saturday, October 29, 2005. She was born March 13, 1926 in Lakeview, Utah. She was the 5th child of Doris Hoggan and Alfred J. Rogers. She was the beloved wife of the late Ernest LaSalle Farnsworth. She remained true and faithful to her beliefs throughout her life. She and LaSalle served a memorable mission to Alaska. She loved serving in the temple, until her heath prevented her from going. She was a gifted seamstress, willing to teach anyone her little secrets. A lover of animals, her constant companion these last years was her cat, DC. She had an adventurous spirit, and traveled throughout the world, experiencing life to the fullest. She always made the entire world a better place with her smile. Garrett, Patricia Jean Bourne Patricia Jean Bourne Garrett Patty Our Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and Friend, Patty, passed away at home on Nov. 3, 2005 in Kearns, after a valiant and courageous 2 year battle with Cancer. She lived her life as she left us, with honor, courage, beauty and perfect love. She was born March 20, 1945 to George Bradford Bourne and Effie Flowers Bourne in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Graduated from Granite High School in May of 1963. Married her high school sweetheart, Dean Paul Garrett, in the Salt Lake City Temple, for all eternity on July 1, 1964. Dean was the center of Pat's Universe and her cherished companion and she will be waiting patiently for their Eternity Together. Patty had a very full life traveling and creating memories with her husband. Her loves were Dean, spending time with her children, getting down playing with the grandchildren, her siblings, her cats, doing church service, scriptures, genealogy, crafts of all kinds, gardening (everything that comes with it), out door activities especially biking, meeting new people, and helping those in need. Most of all she loved life and all it had to offer. She was loved by all. Many considered themselves as one of her children. If you knew her, she touched your life with kindness, generosity, and above all love. She was truly an angel on earth sent to enlighten and encourage anyone that needed her and she will be greatly missed. Patty's children are very blessed to have had her as a mother. It gave her great pleasure to have one last family outing together at Wolf Creek. She was born in Wadsworth, NV July 28, 1904 to Thomas W. and Jane Ellen Collins. Genevieve attended school in Idaho and later moved to Everett, WA where she met and married her husband of over 50 years, Wilfrid Hickison. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Genevieve and Wilfrid had three daughters. Their oldest daughter, Barbara, married and remained in Seattle when Genevieve and Wilfrid moved the family to Salt Lake in the late 1940s. Genevieve worked for the LDS Church in the Genealogy Library Microfilm Dept. She was a lifelong member of the LDS Church and lived true and faithful all of her days. She happily fulfilled many callings. She was secure in her belief that upon her death she would be reunited with her loving husband. Genevieve was a talented pianist and organist; she enjoyed gardening, cooking, and many needle crafts. She loved animals and had many different kinds of pets over the years. She is survived by two daughters, Mitsi (Jim) Perkins, Boise, ID, and Janis (Dale) Elton, North Salt Lake, UT; 12 grandchildren, Bret Elton, Kathy Elton, Tom Sparks, Sandy Garhart, Cookie Vigil, Bill Sparks, Corry Perkins, David Perkins, Jared Perkins, Ruth Palmer, Jane Sorensen, and Bill Perkins; 30 great-grandchildren; and one great great-granddaughter. Shauna was born in Preston, Idaho July 21, 1951 the daughter of Ivan and Renee Henrie. Shauna was an amazing homemaker who gave birth to and raised 12 children. She graduated from Logan High School and Utah State University. She married her husband, Kenneth, in the Logan LDS Temple, September 28, 1973. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and has served in numerous ward and stake callings through the years. She was preceded in death by her son, Curtis; and sister, Lisa. When he was two years old his mother died in childbirth. Bill attended Dixie Jr. College in St. George, later transferring to Utah State University where he graduated with a degree in industrial bacteriology. He worked in the canning industry and was employed by Rocky Mountain Packing Corp. and Hunt Foods of Utah. Bill served in the Naval Air Corps during World War II. He married Mary Petterson in the Logan Temple, June of 1944 while on leave from the Navy. They have five children. He served in various callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He and Mary bought a ranch in Wyoming where he enjoyed working. He is survived by his wife, Mary; and their children, Richard (Carol), Pegram, Idaho, Stephen (Terri), Lyman WY, Mark (Cynde), Lyman, Joan North (Mike), The Dalles, OR, Wade (Sharyn), Midway, UT; sister, Hazel Isom Nelson, Cedar City, UT; 31 grandchildren; and 23 great-grand-children. Giauque Lewis Beloved Sister and Aunt Gladys Lillian Giauque Lewis passed away November 5, 2005. Born Dec 4, 1913 in Salt Lake City, UT to James Arnold Giauque Sr. and Grace Lucille Harris. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Gladys attended LDS High School and West High School. She graduated from Heneger Business College where she won numerous awards for her shorthand and typing skills. She married Osborne F. Lewis Oct 9, 1936 in Reno, NV. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Denver, CO where they resided until 1974 when they returned to Salt Lake City. During the war years she traveled with Os while he was in the military. Gladys studied piano at the McCune School of Music and was an accompanist to many musical groups. She also played the piano and organ for many church services. She was very gifted in the needle arts. Knitting and needlepoint were two of her favorites. Her needle pointed footstools and hand knit baby shawls are treasured possessions of many family members. She had beautiful handwriting and was a prolific letter writer. Gladys corresponded with many friends and family over the years. She never missed a holiday, birthday or anniversary and wrote weekly to her many nephews who were serving missions around the world. Every missionary letter included a five dollar bill. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Os; brother, Kenneth Giauque; sister, Ellen Oakes; brother-in-law, Terry Oakes; and stepson, Bob Lewis. Mason left her earthly residence to return to her family in heaven Saturday, November 5, 2005. She was born in Gorgoza, Utah May 22 1930. Daughter of Osmond and Stella Rasmussen. Married George Mason September 23, 1946 in Evanston, Wyoming. Jacque was raised on the farm in Gorgoza, attended school in Park City, loved to ride horses, skied at "Ecker Hill." Moved to Tooele, Utah in 1951, and worked at Tooele Army Depot until George retired in 1965. After that she moved to Heber where she has resided since. While in Heber, Jacque owned a ceramic shop where she and her daughter made and sold ceramics. Jacque loved to be outdoors and never let the opportunity to go to the mountains pass. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She always had time for the nieces and nephews and her greatest joy was her children and grandchildren with whom she always enjoyed sharing time. She was a great seamstress and hand made custom cloths for all her family. Jacque is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, George Mason; stepson, Garold (Cheryl) Mason of Salt Lake City; son, Edward (Deanna) Mason of Heber; daughter, Deanna (Don) Pesicka of Heber; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren. Murphy March 22, 1962 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and raised her family in the Cottonwood area. An active member of the LDS Church, Lyn loved working in the Young Women's program. They had three daughters, Debbie Fife, deceased, Tami (Nathan) Jeppson, and Lori Cordova. Dar and Jim enjoyed nine grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. From the 9th grade on, Dar was a caregiver to her siblings, raised her own kids, and helped raise a granddaughter (Darlene Fife) and great-granddaughter (Candice Fife). She always had a gift ordered for someone from one of her many catalogs, was the best cook around, (her spaghetti will be missed) and was the best example of what it meant to be a beautiful woman by doing her hair, her fingernails, and wearing perfume, lipstick, and earrings, right to the end. We will miss especially her bright pink lipstick. Mostly we will miss her infectious smile and bright personality. She has traveled on many cruises to different locations and many special Club Med locations. Gerry loved to shop! She was always looking for a bargain. Her favorite hobby was entertaining her family and friends. She was a perfect hostess. She has accumulated hundreds of photo albums of those occasions. Gerry had a special gift; she was loved by everyone who knew her. So many people have lost their best friend, and we will forever miss her. Gerry is preceded in death by her parents and son Scott. She is survived by her brother Jimmy Greer (Marie), husband Fred and children Stephen Ure (Kathy), Steffenie Peterson, Stan Ure and Sally Wilde (George), 11 grandchildren and six great-grand-children. Private family services will be held. The family wishes to invite you to share in a celebration of Gerry's life on Wednesday, November 9, 2005 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the Cottonwood Country Club, 1780 East Lakewood Drive (5420 South).
