She was born February 6, 1924, in Elsinore, Utah to Joseph and Tenora Anderson. She married the love of her life, Ralph R. Addison, on October 20, 1950 and spent 27 wonderful years together. They had 4 children Ray Addison (Jane), Jolene Coon (Dave), Charles Park Addison (Joanne), and Susan Hansen (Cliff). She loved family, music, reading and of course her dog, Sandy. She had an accomplished career at the University of Utah where she retired in 1988. She is survived by her 4 children, five grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, parents, and two sisters; Marjorie Croft and Barbara Jackson Nowlin. She will be deeply missed and always in our hearts. She was born September 2, 1925, the daughter of Frederick and Martha Page Riley in Salt Lake City, Utah. She married Richard L. Barrett on January 7, 1943 in the Salt Lake Temple. He died Sept. 26, 1993. Rhea lived in Bountiful, Pocatello, New York, California and for the past 16 years in Provo/Orem. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the DUP. She loved painting, golf, sewing, arts and crafts and spending time with her family. Rhea is survived by one son, Bruce (Tyra) Barrett of Provo; three daughters, Elaine Chowen of Bountiful, Carol Anne (Jim) Daniels of Orem; and Kathi Wright of Orem; one brother, William (Kathy) Riley of California; stepmother, Nina Riley Beaves; 20 grandchildren and 32 great-grand children. Benincosa Jr., William Albert William Albert Benincosa, Jr. (Skip) KAYSVILLE- William Albert Benincosa, Jr. (Skip) passed away September 14, 2005. He was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa to William Albert Benincosa and Rosa Irene Benincosa, April 18, 1945. He attended the Clearfield schools and graduated from Utah State University. He served in the United States Navy. He also served an LDS mission to South Africa and was always eager to serve in his various church callings. He grew up with Ree, Mary Jo, David, Barbara, Vallard, Robert and Warren, always loving them and their families. Always ready to help and to teach and to listen. Passing on now to join his father, William, they will stand together to await and prepare in the coming day for a sweet and glorious reunion of his mother, Rosa. His great love of her and gratitude for her endearing and enduring example brought him continued happiness and comfort always. Skip married Patricia Jo Pierce. Sealed together forever they loved one another in a most treasured way. Together they have seven strong sons and one lovely daughter: Ben, Paul, Tom, Adam, Ryan, Amy Jo, Neil and Nate. Later, Nancy, Rachel, Cami and Tym brought added love and heartfelt memories. Thirteen grandchildren enjoyed his jovial, playful, and loving heart. His overwhelming concern and compassion was always his priority and his gift. His great humor, ever present and treasured, was only exceeded by his gentle and tender nature to comfort, sustain, and serve his family. His message to his grandchildren is, "I'm Trying To Be Like Jesus". His message to his children was to remember hard work, service, and righteousness are what's needed to "Carry On". Evans 1907 ~ 2005 Helen McRae Young Stock Evans, age 97, passed away Tuesday, 13 September 2005 of causes incident to age. Born 26 November 1907 in Bisbee, Arizona Territory to John Kenneth McRae and Pearl Elizabeth Sabin. Mother was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served nine years as the Stake Relief Society President for the Young Stake which covered Northwestern New Mexico and South Western Colorado. She was a strong advocate of higher education and held a degree in Home Economics from New Mexico Western University. She taught Home Economics for four years at Kirtland, New Mexico High School. Later she served as the Home Demonstration Agent for San Juan County, New Mexico and then as Assistant Professor supervising Home Extension for the western half of the State of New Mexico. She was an avid, amateur painter and painted over 100 paintings which are cherished by all who have received them. She also was an active writer and wrote several life histories of her ancestry. She is survived by her children: Patricia (Dan) Noffsinger, Sylvia (Ray) Sensanbaugher, Robert (Donna) Young, Thomas (Edith Dale) Young; and Winslow (Marlene) Young. Georgelas, Thomas George Thomas George Georgelas Architect, Builder, Developer Thomas George Georgelas (Age 57) of Great Falls, Virginia, died unexpectedly on September 7 in Paris, France, while on a business trip with his brother Theodore. Born on February 7, 1948, at the Presidio of San Francisco, Tom is the beloved son of retired Colonel John G. and Angelina F. Georgelas. He was a founding partner in the family-owned Georgelas Group and a distinguished architect and member of the AIA. He is survived by a large and meaningful contribution of architectural design that reaches from the Metropolitan Washington area to Europe, across the Arabian Peninsula, and to the South Pacific. Tom moved seamlessly between consummate businessman, adoring husband, proud and doting father, loving brother and son, and steadfast friend. The depth of his insight and intelligence was rivaled only by the depth of his love for people; this, coupled with his innately gregarious nature, enabled him to touch people easily, and more importantly to him, to make a difference. Above all, Tom poured his heart and soul into his family, and is loved just as deeply in return. Tom will live on within the hearts, souls, and very beings of each of his family members including his devoted and adoring wife, Vickie Jacobson Georgelas, his unabashedly proud children, Damon Jacob (Tammy Berkhoudt), Aaron John (Alison Morris), and Jessica Thomas Georgelas, his brothers Theodore John (Rachel Sampson), Timothy John (Martha Karas), and Anthony John (Carol Crandall), 24 nieces and nephews, three grandnephews, and three God-children, Katherine Marie Georgelas (daughter of Timothy and Martha), Katarina Marie (daughter of Theodore and Rachel), and Tanner Dierman (son of Jeffrey B. and Tammy S. Dierman). My father was a poet philosopher who touched everyone he met. He was an outstanding man and was loved by a host of friends whom he loved in return. He was born on June 23, 1918 in Salt Lake City to Oluf Frederik Hansen and Axe-line I Schmidt. He attended Granite High School and Salt Lake Community College. He married Helen Elaine Trakas on September 14, 1940 in Salt Lake City. Edwin reunited with the love of his life on their 65th wedding anniversary September 14, 2005. He and Helen traveled around the world together for 50 years and now they can travel together for eternity. He was a lifelong resident of Magna and was an electrician for Kennecott for 43 years. He served in World War II in the Pacific Theater. After his service, he continued many lifelong friendships with his "war buddies" and treasured them as though they were family. He loved music, fishing and hunting but most of all he loved his family. Family was the most important thing in the world to him. Edwin survived prostate cancer for three years and walked in the Relay for Life. We love you and will miss you always. Hansen, Jeneal Ann Paxton "Jenny" Jeneal Ann (Jenny) Paxton Hansen 1953 ~ 2005 After a 20-year courageous battle with fourth-stage ovarian cancer, our dear, sweet, precious Jenny returned to the arms of her Heavenly Father at the age of 52 on September 15, 2005. Jenny was born September 1, 1953 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Norman Irl and Bettie Lou Paxton. Jenny was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She graduated from West High School in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1972 and went on to work at E-Systems and Com-tel. She quit electronics to follow her dream to work with animals. She became a pet groomer and worked at Fashion 'Elle Pet Salon for seven years and loved every minute of it until she became too ill to continue. Jenny had a generous and loving nature when it came to animals and leaves behind three dearly loved pets: Colby, Hannah and Marble. Jenny also had many on-line friends who were cancer survivors. They will miss her emails, her sense of humor, and her compassion and concern for their struggles with cancer, as well. Jenny loved her home, doing yard work, taking care of her pets and feeding countless wild birds. She also loved putting together picture collages of her family and friends. Jenny is survived by her loving and devoted father, Norman Paxton, who has been her caretaker, comforter, and best friend all these years. She is also survived by her mother, Bettie Paxton, her two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lynn and Sandy Faucett and Pam and Chuck Gaines. She will also be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews, Heather (Kevin) Mentaberry, Carmen (Bracken) Davis, Dylan (Tina) Faucett, Robert Gaines, Rachel Gaines, Bretton Faucett, Kevin Faucett and her great nieces, Mazy Mentaberry, Ava Mentaberry, and Madison Faucett. She leaves behind many aunts, uncles and cousins who were very dear to her heart. Hansen, Jerome Reid "Jerry" Jerome Reid (Jerry) Hansen 1924 ~ 2005 Beloved and cherished husband, father and grandfather, Jerome Reid (Jerry) Hansen passed away September 15, 2005. Jerry was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, to George L. and Blanche G. Hansen on April 1, 1924, and grew up in Chicago, Illinois. Jerry married Peggy Lowe in Salt Lake City in 1949. For 56 years, they enjoyed a rich, full life together. Jerry served in the US Army during World War II. He was injured while fighting in the Battle of the Bulge and was awarded the Purple Heart. After attending Syracuse University and Northwestern University, Jerry graduated from Purdue University in 1948 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Jerry was proud to receive the Purdue University Engineering Alumni Association Service Award in 1997. Jerry worked for US Smelting and Refining Company and the Johns-Manville Company before starting his own business, JRH Sales, a manufacturer's representative firm. Jerry had a great love of golf and was a founding member of Willow Creek Country Club. He was also a lifelong member of the Christian Science Church. Jerry is survived by his wife, Peggy, and three children: Eileen Hansen (Denise Wells), of San Francisco; Scott Hansen (Peggy Norton), of Salt Lake City; and Lisa Hansen Mietchen (Scott Mietchen), of Salt Lake City. "Pop" is also survived by three grandchildren who adored him: Abby Mietchen, Alex Mietchen and Maddie Hansen, all of Salt Lake City. The family is grateful for the help of Tyrone Winston, Dorothy Brown and Renee Marquez, who supported Jerry with great dignity. Lutz, Eleanor Eleanor Lutz 1915 ~ 2005 On September 14, 2005, Eleanor Lutz, a woman of great character, humor, independence, and courageous spirit left this world to join her heavenly father and be reunited with her husband, Arthur. During her eight year battle with the ravages of Alzheimer's disease, Eleanor shared her plucky and loving spirit with her family and many generous and devoted caretakers. While Alzheimer's shattered Eleanor's memory, she was able to leave a remembrance for all who knew this great lady. This was Eleanor's gift to us. Eleanor is survived by sons, Peter, of Farmington , Utah, and Scott (Debbie) of Sandy, Utah. She leaves behind four grandchildren, Steven, Megan, Nickolaus, and Wolfgang; nephews, Otis and Mark Kirk; and sister-in-law, Afton Schneider. Preceded in death by husband, Arthur (1992); and daughter-in-law, Rebecca (2000); and nine brothers and sisters, Mamie, Bill, Henry, Charles, Wilbur, Carolyn, Rosezela, Eddy, and Martha. Born November 15, 1915 in Williston, ND to Henry and Elizabeth Schneider. Eleanor was the youngest of 10 children. At the age of 18, Eleanor moved to Salt Lake City to work as a beautician in the downtown area. She later opened her own successful beauty parlor at the Belvedere Hotel. One of Eleanor's proud accomplishments was growing prize African Violets, for which she won wide acclaim throughout the intermountain area. In addition to raising her two sons, Peter and Scott, Eleanor achieved success as one the first woman real estate brokers in Utah owning and operating Indian Hills Realty. We would like to thank the many caretakers who lovingly cared for her during her battle with Alzheimer's. Our deepest appreciation to Garden Terrace during the early years of her disease, and special heartfelt thanks to Alta Ridge Assisted Living and Alta Ridge Alzheimer's Facility. The marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple, March 29, 1957. He preceded her in death August 4, 1999. She served faithfully in all the LDS Church Auxiliaries. She and Wendell served a service mission at the Bishop's Storehouse. She is especially known for all the beautiful handmade quilts that she made for her family and friends. She was an example of hard work, service and love to her posterity. Louise was a graduate of Granite High, a clerk for RKO and MGM Pictures in Salt Lake City and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, South Cottonwood Lions Auxiliary and Painter's local 77 Auxillary. She was the wife of the late John O.W. Nielsen; mother of Gerda Holcomb, the late Joyce Golsan; and the late John Terry Nielsen; also survived by four grandsons and ten great-grandchildren. Nordberg, Melvin Clyde "Mel" Melvin Clyde Nordberg "Mel" Melvin Clyde Nordberg passed away September 14, 2005 from complications of Alzheimers. Mel was born in Salt Lake City on February 8, 1920 to Ida and Adolph Nordberg. He grew up in Copperton, graduated from Bingham High School and the University of Utah. He and his wife, Elaine, were married 51 years. Mel served in the US Army during World War II. He was Chief Accountant for Lang Company and Dugway Proving Ground/Deseret Test Center. Mel retired in 1970 and became a "tennis bum". He also loved to play table tennis, chess, ballroom dance, harmonica, talking with people and traveling. Mel is survived by his wife, children Brian (Colleen) and Debbie (John) Colt and grandchildren Jefferson (9), Nicholas (5) and Daniel (1) Colt. He is preceded in death by his brother, Clifford and sister, Dorothy Lawrence Krause. The family would like to thank Alta Ridge Alzheimers Facility, especially Kathi, for the kind and loving care provided; also special thanks to Inspiration Hospice. Rasmussen, Betty Betty Rasmussen 1928 ~ 2005 Betty May Mason Bredesen Rasmussen, age 76, of Springville, passed away September 15, 2005. She was born December 16, 1928, in Springville, Utah to Albert Earl Mason and Sarah Ann Jones Mason. She was married to Arnold Bredesen on January 11, 1950. He preceded her in death and she was later married to Kay N. Rasmussen on October 3, 1974. Betty was a devoted wife and mother. She was a loving grandmother, sister and friend. Betty served in the primary as both a teacher and the president. She was a devoted visiting teacher and she served as a visiting teaching supervisor until shortly before her passing. Betty is survived by her loving husband, Kay N. Rasmussen, and their daughters: Kathleen (Morris) Nelson of Provo; Jan Allen of South Jordan; Patricia (Roger) Sumsion of Springville; Katie (Neil) Jeppson of Saratoga Springs; Diane (Barry) Walker of Kamas and Denise (Mike) Kelly of West Jordan; 28 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; three sisters: Mildred Bolinder of Salt Lake; Martha (Loyd) Barker of Springville; Della (Vern) Thornton of Orem, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Ritter, Arthur Joseph Arthur Joseph Ritter 1933 ~ 2005 Arthur Joseph Ritter, born August 1,1933 in Dayton, OH to Max Edward and Vera Elizabeth Ritter passed away on September 14, 2005 in AZ. His first love, flying, led him to a career in the Air Force, from which he retired in 1973. He fulfilled his second life ambition by attaining his Juris Doctorate from the University of Utah Law School in 1976. He was able to combine his passion for flying and his zest for law by later teaching aviation and law at Westminster College in Salt Lake City, UT. Upon his retirement in 2001, he headed to Arizona to hone his golfing skills. Though life dealt him many medical challenges, he never gave up and lived his life to the fullest whenever possible. Art is survived by his wife and soul mate of 28 years, Colleen; His children Stephanie Tanner, Howard "Chip" D. (Hally) Ritter, Cynthia (Edward) Uhl, R. Patrick Ritter, Christine (Ralph Symes) Hansen, and Heather (D.J.) Woods; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; special cousins Middie, Betsy and Georgia; numerous nieces and nephews; and his former wife Jane Gramlich. His sister Jean preceded him in death. A visitation will be held on Sunday September 18, 2005 from 4-6 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State St. Murray, Utah. Rufener, Bud Bud Rufener 1927 ~ 2005 Beloved husband, father, friend and mentor passed away peacefully on September 14, 2005 at home surrounded by his loving family. Bud was born on Dec. 26, 1927 in Salt Lake City to Henry and Emma Rufener, the sixth of seven children. Bud married Beverly Key, later divorced. On June 15, 1963, he married Wanda Nash. He graduated from South High School in 1945 and served honorably in the Army Air Corps, 475th Fighter Group, in 1946. After 27 years of working in delivery sales, Bud found his passion building a successful Farmers Insurance Agency for the next 38 years. He was genuinely concerned about the well being of his clients. Bud's compassion and love for life extended beyond his family and friends. He found great satisfaction in helping those in need. He is survived by his wife Wanda, his sons, Ray Nash, Dave (Barb) Rufener, Bob (Laurie) Rufener, Don (Larissa) Rufener and daughters, Jan (Tom) Rasmussen, Dodie Hemingway, 14 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Tate, Harold Vern Roy Harold Vern Roy Tate "Gone Fishing" In loving memory of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Harold Vern Roy Tate, who passed away peacefully with his family by his side on September 14, 2005. He was born February 4, 1929 to Roy Phillip Tate and Elizabeth Hansen. He married Donna Lee Butterfield on August 24, 1949. They had 56 wonderful fruitful years together. Their marriage was solemnized on December 7, 1966 in the Salt Lake Temple. Harold lived a very full life. He is the father of 10 children, 39 grandchildren, and 53 great-grandchildren. He loved life and taking his family with him to experience the great outdoors. Harold was an Elder of the Rosecreek 1st Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Harold worked hard all his life. He loved and supported his family to his last day. He taught us all so many things, and will leave a large hole in the lives of all who loved him. Preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Elizabeth; in-laws, George and Hazel Butterfield; brother, Darrell; sisters, Marjorie and Barbara; great-granddaughter, Regina Tate. Wright, Ed Ed Wright "Pop" Charles Edward Wright, age 51, passed away September 15, 2005 at the South Valley Care Center after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born October 19, 1953 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Niles Crane and Erma Thorup Wright. Married Pamela Kaye Todd on October 28, 1981. He enjoyed golfing and cooking and loved spending time with his grandchildren and his dogs, Shasta and GQ. He was a dedicated employee for Rite Aid for 33 years.
