Allred, Bennie M.
Bennie M. Allred 1937 ~ 2004  Our beloved brother and son passed away in his
sleep Nov. 17,2004.  Bennie was born May 28, 1937 to Alvin Linsey Allred and
Pauline Meadows in Ogden.  Survived by his mother: Pauline Sheen, Salt Lake;
two brothers: Carl Allred, Salt Lake; Curtis Allred of Salt Lake; and a
sister: Carol (Tom) Abel of Lusby, MD.  At Bennie's request there will be no
funeral service. He has bequeath his body to the University of Utah medical
school. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.  Thanks to Meals on
Wheels of San Francisco, Pathways of San Francisco and IHC Hospice of Salt
Lake and to all his friends who helped in his time of need. A special thanks
to: JP Perino, Charles Robinson, Joe Clack, Robin Meese Cruz and Michael
Chrisman. We will miss you.

Bowen, Kim Ryan
Kim Ryan Bowen 1947 ~ 2004   Kim (Ryan) Bowen passed away on November 18, 2004
at the age of 56 due to complications associated with the sudden onset of
Leukemia. Kim was born on November 30, 1947 in Coalville, Utah to John and
Mildred Bowen. He grew up in Sunset, Utah and graduated from Clearfield High
School in 1966. He served a mission for the LDS Church in the Northwestern
States Mission. Kim loved theater and played a diverse list of roles in
several Salt Lake theater productions. He was an adventurer and loved the
outdoors. He had a unique gift for relating to and inspiring children. He
loved to make children happy and encourage their imaginations. He was loved by
many and will be missed. He is survived by his son, Justin (Brooke);
granddaughter, Shayla Rachel; mother, Mildred; brothers, Dennis (Judith),
Roger (Marcy), Bruce (Sue), and Jeff (Lori); sister, Connie (Richard) Emerson;
and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, John. A
viewing will be held on Friday, November 26, 2004 from 6-8 p.m. at Cannon
Mortuary, 2460 E. Bengal Blvd. (7600 So), Salt Lake City. A funeral service
will be held Saturday, November 27, 2004 from 11 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Butler
West Stake Center, 1845 E. 7200 South in Salt Lake City. A viewing will be
held at the same location prior to the service from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment
will be at Murray City Cemetery.

Charlesworth, Peggy Lenore Cottrell
Peggy Lenore Cottrell Charlesworth 1939 ~  2004  Our beloved Mother,
Grandmother, and Sweetheart, Peggy Lenore Charlesworth, 65, passed away
quickly and peacefully Nov. 21, 2004, surrounded by the love and respect of
her family, as a result of the complications of an aggressive bone cancer. 
Peggy was born June 5, 1939, in Emery, Utah. She married the love of her life,
Robert Lewis Charlesworth, in the Salt Lake Temple. They were married for 47
years. Together they were the parents of one daughter and two sons. Peggy was
an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, holding
many positions over the years, dedicating the last 10 years of her life as a
scribe to her best friend, her husband, Patriarch Robert Charlesworth. Peggy
loved reading the scriptures and sharing talks or stories that touched her
spirit. She loved the many years of working with students at Olympus High
School, Taylorsville High School, and Granger High School, where she retired. 
She always took time out from whatever she was doing to listen to and counsel
her children and grandchildren. She loved the thought behind the gift. Some of
her greatest joys in life came when she was preparing special meals for
birthdays, holidays, etc., and spending wonderful one-on-one time with her
grandchildren.  She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her
son, Alan Robert (Saundra) Charlesworth, her parents Clyde Cottrell and Ellen
Stewart; and her twin brothers Ron and Don Cottrell.  She is survived by her
husband, Robert (Bob) Charlesworth; daughter, Vickie (Jeff) Walker; son, David
(Lori); 10 grandchildren: Korrina, Jeremy, Cassi, Cara, Rob, Alex, Brittany,
A.J., Mitchell, Tanner; three great grandchildren: Kamryn, Thad, and Hadley;
brother, Roger Stewart; Sister, Ruth Godwin.  A Viewing will be held Tuesday,
Nov. 23 from 6-8 .m. at the Valley View Memorial Funeral Home, at 4335 W. 4100
S., West Valley City, Utah. Funeral Services will be held  11 a.m. on
Wednesday, Nov. 24th, in the LDS Chapel at 4251 S. 4800 W., West Valley City.
A viewing will also be held at the church where friends may call from
9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral. Interment at the Valley View Memorial
Park. The family wishes to thank the staff and nurses of the Utah Valley
Regional Medical Center for the reverent, sweet, and compassionate care they
provided.

Cole, John Edward
COLE- Funeral services for John Edward Cole, 73, of Carbonville, UT, will be
held Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, 12:00 noon, at Fausett Mortuary in Price, UT,
with a viewing Tuesday evening from 7-8:00 p.m. (building will be open till
9:00 p.m.) and also one hour prior to services. Burial in the Price City
Cemetery.

Egbert, Alma DeMar
Alma DeMar Egbert 1944 ~ 2004  Our loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle
and friend, DeMar Egbert, age 60 passed away November 18, 2004 in Salt Lake
City, UT.  He was born in Murray, UT on July 1, 1944 to Max Callicot and Viola
Beth Shulsen Egbert. Dad kept himself busy with several occupations throughout
his life but always resorted to one of his passions, land developing. He loved
to vacation with his family and his greatest pleasure among the many places
was boating at Lake Powell. He possessed many talents from seamlessly
operating equipment, vehicles and boats of any kind to training horses,
developing land and navigating the country all of which made him an
exceptional teacher, father, husband and friend. His children made him proud
and grandchildren made him smile. He found it easy to make friends and he
would give the shirt off his back when he could. DeMar is survived by his
loving children Kimberly (Geoffrey) Bruce; Natalie (Michael) Watson; Kevin;
special son Dougie; three grandchildren Ashley, Hailey and Cannon; his mother
Viola; three brothers; seven sisters; lots of nieces and nephews and many
friends. He was preceded in death by his father. Funeral services will be held
on Wednesday, November 24, 2004, 11 a.m., at Cottonwood 14th Ward chapel, 2080
E. 5165 S., Holladay. A viewing will be held Tues. 6:00-8:00 p.m. as well as
one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow at the Riverton City

Jensen, Vontess Hales
Vontess Hales Jensen 1909 ~ 2004  Vontess Hales Jensen passed away Nov 17,
2004 in Richfield, UT at age 95.  She was born Aug. 5, 1909 in Redmond, UT to
John S. Hales and  Rebecca Mickelsen. She married  Keogh Jensen in Richfield,
Utah in 1930. He died in 1952 and she raised their ten children alone. She
held numerous LDS church positions and served in the D.U.P. and Legion
Auxiliary. She has been at the Richfield Care Center for the past few years,
and many thanks to her caretakers there. She has seven living children,
Phyllis (Hank) Thiessens, LaRene (Hal) Barker, Kay (Powell) Johnson, Lee
(Luane), Paul (Linda), Allen (Louise), and Steve (Lorilie) Jensen. Preceded in
death by husband Keogh, son Lynn (Jan), and daughters Elaine (Veryl) Kesler,
Velma Oviatt. She had 35 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren and nine
great-great-grandchildren. She has one living brother, Willis (Anna) Hales. 
Vontess was laid to rest Sat. Nov. 20th, 2004 at the Redmond Cemetery.

Johnsen, Ferris Mehner
Lt . Col Ferris Mehner Johnsen 7/14/22 ~ 11/3/04  Our dear sweet father,
brother, and grandfather returned home to join his eternal companion Lorna
Luella Johnsen, Wednesday, November 3, 2004. What a joyous reunion for them to
be together again. Ferris was the fourth son of Ervin Daniel Johnsen and Ida
Susanne Mehner Johnsen. He was born July 14, 1922, in Spanish Fork,
Utah.Ferris graduated from East High School and served in the United States
Navy from 1943   1946. He joined the United States Air Force in 1951. During
that same year he met his eternal companion Lorna, and they married September
20, 1951 in the Salt Lake Temple. He served in Florida, England, Utah, Japan,
and Texas. He retired from the Air Force in 1969 and returned to the
University of Utah where he received a Masters degree in Education. He was
appointed the Media Director at the Salt Lake Community College in 1970 and
retired in 1979. Ferris was active in the LDS church where he held numerous
callings and served them faithfully. He was a member of the Mormon Tabernacle
Choir for 6 years and loved every minute of it! He had a deep love for his
family and a strong testimony of the gospel. He was very proud to be an
American. All appreciated his sense of humor. He loved writing, music and
nature. He had a passion for learning and education. He would tell family and
friends, "Knowledge is Power!" Ferris completed several books, some of which
have been published. He was a kind, loving father and was adored by his
grandchildren. He is survived by his son, Kent, (Sandra) Johnsen, Newark,
Delaware, daughter, Tauna Jacobsen, Alpine, Utah, grandchildren; Lauren,
Matthew, Shelley, Angela, Sheila, Emily, and Noel, brothers; Ervin Mehner
Johnsen, (Shirley) Salt Lake City, Utah, Fred Mehner Johnsen, Bountiful, Utah,
Norden Mehner Johnsen, (Joyce), Salt Lake City, Utah, Woodrow Mehner Johnsen,
(Sheryl), Salt Lake City, Utah and his sister Ruby Adolphson, Bountiful, Utah
as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday,
November 27, 2004 at 12:00 noon at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401
South Highland Drive, Salt Lake city, Utah. Friends may call from 10:00-11:45
a.m. prior to the services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. We will
miss his love.

Okleberry, Frank C.
Frank C. Okleberry1923 ~ 2004  Frank C. Okleberry , beloved husband, father,
grandfather, and brother passed away peacefully in his sleep November 20,
2004.He was born August 14, 1923 in Twin Falls, Idaho the last of seven sons
of Martin Lorenzo and Kristina Ma-tilda Erickson Okleberry. He grew up during
the Depression on his family's farm near Eden, Idaho. He attended local
schools and graduated from Eden High School in 1942. After high school, he
attended the WPA vocational school in Wieser, Idaho and received training as a
ma-chinist. He accepted a job at the Puget Sound Navy yard, but decided to
join the Navy soon afterwards. He completed his basic training at Farragut,
Idaho, and was stationed aboard the light cruiser USS Birmingham (CL62) in
early 1943. The Birmingham fought with distinction in the Mediterranean and
Pacific theatres of the war. It was severely damaged three separate times at
the battles of Bougainville, Okinawa, and Leyte Gulf, where Frank narrowly
escaped death because he said he listened to that "still, small voice" and
took cover just before a massive explosion occurred that killed or wounded
nearly half the crew of the ship. After the war, he continued his Navy career
and became an electrical technician. He met and married Katherine Nelson in
Seattle, WA and had two sons. They were later divorced. In 1950, he was
serving aboard the aircraft carrier USS Valley Forge (CV45) when the Korean
War broke out. His ship was one of the first to launch air attacks to repel
the invasion and support the U.S. troops. He transferred to the Naval reserves
in 1952, and retired in 1972 as a Chief Petty Officer with 30 cumulative years
of service to his country. As a civilian, Frank worked in Seattle for the
Boeing company as an electrician. He met LaRee Goates, and they were married
June 12, 1957 in the Salt Lake Temple. They had two sons, and the family moved
from Seattle to Layton, Utah in 1962. He took a job at Hill Air Force base,
where he was employed until he retired in 1986. He enjoyed gardening and was
expert at getting fruit trees and grape vines to produce abundant crops. He
loved his family and was fond of his grandchildren. He was an active High
Priest in the LDS Church. He was a true patriot who never missed an
opportunity to vote or fly the flag, and would often stop along roadsides just
to pick up litter. He is survived by his wife; his sons, Tom and Frank, Jr.,
of Seattle, WA, Jeffery (Maristella) of Catania, Italy, Kevin (Leigh) of North
Salt Lake; his brother, Edwin of Eden, ID; 11 grandchildren; four
great-grand-children; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by
his parents and five brothers. Funeral services will be held Friday, November
26, 2004, 11 a.m. at the Valley View 9th Ward, 789 E. Wasatch, Layton. Family
and friends may call Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 250 No.
Fairfield Rd., Layton and Friday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment

Olson, Marilyn Day
Marilyn Day Olson 1931 ~ 2004  Marilyn Day Olson, beloved wife, daughter,
mother, and "gramma," age 73, passed away Nov. 20, 2004, surrounded by her
loving family. She was born October 9, 1931 to Ralph Snow Day and Wilma
Mickelsen Day of Draper Utah. She married Gerald L. Olson in Draper Utah
September 12, 1952. Marilyn graduated from Jordan High School, attended Utah
State and the University of Utah. She was a beautiful talented lady and was
crowned the Draper Queen in 1951. She was a member of the LDS church and
served in many callings. Her musical talents blessed the lives of many. She
enjoyed planning family celebrations, playing word games, watching sports,
attending Hillcrest games, and taking trips to Park City. She loved animals,
gardening, music, and her friends "the gang." Most of all, she loved and
cherished her grandchildren. Marilyn brightened any room with her sense of
humor, wit and friendliness. She delighted in bringing happiness to others
with her generosity and love. Survived by her husband, Gerald L. Olson of
Midvale; daughters, Christine O. Martin of Orem; Alyssa (Steven) Bailey, of
West Valley City; Shannon (Darron) Heaton, of Taylorsville; mother, Wilma M.
Day of Draper; and grandchildren, Megan, Jessica, Bryson, Zachary, Spencer,
and Blake. She was preceded in death by her son, Ryan; her brother, Duane; and
her father, Ralph. A viewing will be held for friends and family on Tuesday,
Nov. 23, 2004, from 6 - 7:30 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, Midvale. A
private family memorial will be held on Wednesday Nov. 24, 2004 at 1 p.m. at
Goff Mortuary.  Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens. The family would like to
express their appreciation to the medical personnel who assisted Marilyn
during her illness. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to
Marilyn's favorite charity, the Humane Society of Utah.

Rackele, Frances Donna Potter
Frances Donna Potter Rackele 1921 ~ 2004  Frances Donna Potter Rackele, age
83, of Provo, died November 21, 2004, at the Timpanogos Regional Medical
Center.  She was born July 3, 1921 in Winter Quarters, Utah to Noah Sr. and
Mary Ellen England Potter. She married Rudolph R. Rackele in Price, Utah.
Frances attended schools in Carbon County, Utah. She worked as an LPN at the
Hospital in Price. She was a member of the Orem Community Church, Order of the
Eastern Star of Utah in Price and Provo, the Lady Shriners and Lybia Temple,
Daughters of the Nile in Salt Lake City, Utah. Her hobbies included sewing for
her family and taking care of her home. She enjoyed a long and loving marriage
to her husband Rudolph. She loved her children and grandchildren, and
cherished the time spent with them. She is survived by her husband of Provo;
Merrielee (Bill) Hatch of El Paso, TX; Kristen (John) Briody of Forestville,
CA; Rudene Rackele of Henderson, NV; and Kim (Scott) Fillmore of Provo, UT;
nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by
four brothers, two sisters and a great-grand-daughter. The family wishes to
express their gratitude to the staff of Orem Nursing and Rehab, Summerfield
Manor and Timpanogos Regional Medical Center ICU, for the loving care and
kindness given to our wife and mother. A celebration of her life will be held
Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, 11:00 a.m. at the Orem Community Church, 130 N. 400
E. Friends may call at the Church one hour prior to services. Interment, Orem
City Cemetery. Services under the direction of Berg Mortuary of Provo. In lieu
of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Shriner's Hospital
For Crippled Children in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Roberts, Maize Hansen
Maize Hansen Roberts 1/4/11 ~ 11/21/04  Maize Hansen Roberts, Our beloved
mother, grandmother, great-grand-mother, great-great-grandmother, sister, and
aunt passed away at the age of 93. She was born January 4, 1911 in Richfield,
Utah to Charles Martin and Millicent Hannah Haycock Hansen. She married Heber
Fay Roberts, June 12, 1931, in Flagstaff Arizona. Their marriage was
solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple June 8, 1943. She was an active member of
the LDS Church and served in many church positions and sang in the ward choir
at Wells Ward. She is survived by one son, two daughters and three spouses.
Roger F. Roberts and Nina Roberts, Salt Lake City, UT; Wally Foote, Salt Lake
City, UT; Lorraine Hull, Tustin CA. Janeane and Mike Bowen, Salt Lake City,
UT; and eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-
grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband Fay Roberts and her
daughter Marjorie Foote. A viewing and services will take place from 1-2 p.m.,
followed immediately by a graveside service, Wednesday, November 24, 2004 at
Mountain View Memorial Estates. 3115 E. 7800 S. Salt Lake City, UT.

Siddoway, Barbara Young Morris
Barbara Young Morris Siddoway 1914 ~ 2004  BOUNTIFUL-Barbara Young Morris
Siddoway, 90, passed away Monday, Nov. 22, 2004 from heart failure.  She was
born August 9, 1914 to Nephi L. and Harriet Young Morris in Salt Lake City,
Utah. She married Clarence H. Siddoway, June 14, 1939. Later solemnized in the
Salt Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in death in 1982. Although her beautiful
voice won her a place as a soloist with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, she put
that behind her to devote her time to rearing eight children. She spent many
years as a leader in the Cub Scout program in the Bountiful 9th Ward, where
she influenced the lives of scores of young men. Barbara was generous to a
fault and will be sorely missed by her children, grandchildren and
great-grandchildren.  She is survived by her children, Richard and Janice
Siddoway, Barbara (Bobsy) Siddoway, John and Sandy Siddoway, Vicki and Danny
Broderick, Craig and Kristeen Siddoway and Philip and Christie Siddoway, all
of Bountiful; Sydney and Gary Mears and Suzy and Robin Lee of Farmington; 36
grandchildren and 53 great-grandchildren. She is also succeeded by one sister,
Harriet Westergard of Bountiful. She was preceded in death by her husband, an
infant son, David, and a daughter-in-law, Geri. At her request, graveside
services will be held in the Bountiful Cemetery at 3:00 p.m., Wed., November
24, 2004. Friends and family may call Tuesday evening from 7-9 p.m. at the
Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 N. Main and Wed. from 1:30-2:30 p.m.
at the Val Verda 3rd Ward Chapel, 3350 S. 100 E., Bountiful, prior to
services. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the
Perpetual Education Fund of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Stanley, Carl B.
Carl B. Stanley 1926 ~ 2004  Carl B. Stanley, age 78, passed away surrounded
by his loving family November 19, 2004 in Sandy, Utah. He was born May 2, 1926
in Evanston, Illinois son of Carl A. and Mildred B. Stanley. After a
fulfilling life, including a long, successful business career in the Chicago
area, Carl, an avid skier, fly fisherman, and outdoorsman, moved to Sandy in
1999 to enjoy the western lifestyle. He is survived by his brother, Wil-liam
Stanley, and his wife, Antoinette; sister-in-law, Alice Peterson; and her
husband, Harold; four children, Susan (Peter) Barber, Robert (Debra) Stanley,
Shirley (Don) Stevens, and Thomas (Tracy) Stanley; nine grandchildren, Joseph
and Kristin Barber, Peter and Carl Stanley, Keith and Sarah Stevens, Jason and
Josh Kone, and Chad Stanley; and one great-grandson, Hunter Kone. He is also
survived by numerous nieces and nephews and many beloved friends. He was
preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Robertson Stanley; and his parents,
Carl A. and Mildred B. Stanley. A memorial service will be held Wednesday,
November 24, 2004 at 2 p.m. at the Hilltop United Methodist Church, 985 E.
10600 South, Sandy. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made
to Hilltop United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.

Walz, Susan E.
Susan E. Walz 1938 ~ 2004  Sue, Suz, Suzy, Mom, Grandma Sue, died at home
November 19, 2004, after a courageous seven year battle with cancer. Sue will
be greatly missed by her loving and devoted husband, Leo; her daughter, Kate
(Derek) Mattsson; her son, Joe (Beth) Walz; and her grand-children, Joey,
Tommy, Johnny, and Anthony Walz, along with Emily and Elliott Mattsson. She's
also survived by her sister, Claudia (Dick) Hunsaker of Loveland, CO; and her
brother, Bill Evans of Timberline, UT. Sue was born September 18, 1938 in Salt
Lake City, Utah to Elliott W. Evans and Aline J. Evans. She spent her early
years in Bingham Canyon, moving to Salt Lake in the fourth grade. She
graduated from East High and later attended the University of Utah where she
received a BA Degree in Education in 1960. While at the University, she was
active in the Delta Gamma Sorority and various campus activities. In August
1965, she married Leo J. Walz (Buns) at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Salt
Lake City. She spent the rest of her life as a devoted spouse, mother,
grandmother, and community volunteer.  Sue's life was full of giving to
others. While raising her children, she contributed countless hours to the
Cosgriff School and St. Ambrose Parish, working in various capacities from
coaching softball and volleyball to serving as an officer in the Ladies of St.
Ambrose and treasurer of the Carmelite Fair and the Altar Society. Sue also
stayed involved with the sisterhood of Delta Gamma Sorority throughout her
life, a membership she enjoyed with her mother, sister, and daughter. As part
of her association with Delta Gamma, she spent 40 years of her life doing
vision screening for children, one of the sorority's missions. Her passion for
the work of her sorority was equaled by her love for PEO, a philanthropic
women's organization. During her 30 year membership in Chapter O of PEO, she
served in all leadership positions while establishing many lasting
friendships. While at home, Sue enjoyed spending time with family and friends,
which included her monthly "Lunch Bunch" and bridge groups. Her greatest
passion in life was her grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking as
demonstrated by her cookbook collection which numbers in the hundreds. Sue's
dedication to family and friends will forever be her legacy. The family wishes
to thank the medical community that aided in Sue's struggle during the past 11
months, particularly Dr. Graydon Harker and the "Sisters of the Holy Cross" --
Joni, Cloe and Mary. You are the best. Memorial services will be held Friday,
November 26, 11 a.m. at the St. Ambrose Parish, 1975 S. 2300 E. in Salt Lake
City. Friends may visit the family one hour prior to the Memorial Service.
Burial will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Salt Lake City. The family
suggests donations be sent to Sue's favorite charity, the Denver Children's
Hospital Cardiac Care Center Cardiac Unit (1056 East 19th Avenue, Denver,
Colorado, 80218 to the attention of Chris Mashburn, R.N.) in honor of Grandma
Sue and her grandson Tommy Walz. Directors, Neil O'Donnell & Sons.
