Burns, Jason Patrick Jason Patrick Burns 3/22/1971~8/2/2005 Jason Patrick Burns, 34, passed away Aug 2, 2005 in his home in Holden, Utah, surrounded by his family. Born Mar. 22, 1971 in Hemet, CA to James G. and Rabecca E. Robison Burns. The forth of four children. Brothers: James G. and Scott A. Burns; Sister: Kristyne Burns. He moved with his family to Holden in 1973. He attended elementary, middle, and high school in Fillmore, Utah. He graduated in 1989 from Millard High School on the honor roll. He excelled in sports and especially as a baseball pitcher. He was always on the side of the underdog and went to the defense of many who were not treated well. He showed kindness and compassion to those who had few friends. He brought so much happiness to everyone he was in contact with, even though he felt he had so little to offer, which made him sad. He felt so bad that he was not able to do more for others. He was repeatedly told that his love, his heart and his spirit touched everyone he knew for the good, even those who did not know him - because it did! He has served as his Heavenly Father expects us all to do. He is a member of the LDS Church. The joy in his life was to attend the temple as often as possible. We will meet him there on his birthday from now on, as that was the day he tried never to miss. He will now be serving, teaching others the gospel, and spend time with his many family members and friends who have gone before him, including a terrific grandfather he never met while in this life, that loved baseball more than he did. They will probably have a good game of catch. He is survived by parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by all his grandparents and his uncle Don and his aunt Whimpie. Funeral: Fri Aug 5, 2005 in the Holden Ward at 11 a.m. Friends call at church 9:30-10:45 a.m. Burial in Holden Cemetery under direction of Nickle Mortuary, Delta. Eatough, Mary Clare Erickson Mary Clare Erickson Eatough 1916 ~ 2005 Mary Clare Erickson Eatough, born in Salt Lake City on March 23, 1916, died of a heart attack on Saturday, July 30, 2005 at Timpanogos Hospital in Orem, Utah. Mrs. Eatough graduated from East High School in Salt Lake City, and the University of Utah, where she majored in bacteriology and pathology. She worked in laboratories for Holy Cross Hospital, the University of Utah and Cloverleaf Dairy. Her first of several missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was to the East Central States, beginning in 1939. On June 16, 1941, 10 weeks after returning from her mission, she married G. Watson Eatough. The couple lived in Bremerton, Washington where they had daughters Randy (Nelson) and Carolee (Lowry), and then moved to American Fork, Utah, where son Gregory Eatough and daughter Margo (Spencer) were born. The Eatoughs lived in American Fork until 2004. Mary taught piano lessons for 25 years. Her hobbies included needlepoint, interior decorating, and family history. Mary became interested in oil painting when she took her widowed mother to art classes, hoping to find her a hobby. Her landscapes, seascapes and portraits have been placed in homes throughout the United States, in the Provo LDS Temple, and one was displayed at the Utah Governor's Mansion. Mary won numerous awards for her painting and had several private showings of her collected works. She was a regular exhibitor at the Utah Pageant of the Arts at the American Fork Steel Days. She donated paintings to local charitable organizations and schools. She taught painting classes to many members of the American Fork community as well as her own children and grandchildren. Nothing delighted her more than seeing the thrill of accomplishment in the lives of her students and friends. Many of her grandchildren inherited her artistic ability and at least three have college degrees in art or design-related fields. The inspiration for many of her masterpieces came from her travels around the world. During her life, Mary visited at least 45 of the 50 United States and traveled to at least 26 foreign countries. (Tony) Fratto died on Aug. 1, 2005 at St. Joseph's Villa. He was born on Oct. 3, 1909 in San Giovanni In Fiore, Italy to John and Victoria Romano Fratto and immigrated to the United States at the age of three years. Anthony was the eldest of 11 children and was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters. He married Catherine E. (Tangaro) Fratto on January 17, 1932 at Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church, Price, Utah. She preceded him in death on May 16, 2002. Tony's professional career and expertise were primarily in the mining industry where he was employed as a maintenance superintendent at the Kenilworth and Castle Gate coal mines and the PCS, formerly TGS, Phosphate Mine in Moab, Utah from which he retired on Oct. 14, 1974. He also owned and operated the Electric Service Company in Helper and Price for a period of years when the mining industry was in a state of decline and unsettlement. Tony utilized his many talents by acting as a consultant to Joy Manufacturing Co. during his employment and to General Electric Co. Service Shops after his retirement. Tony loved baseball and was an avid player in his youth and was contracted to play professionally for the San Francisco Seals Ball Club. The depression unfortunately negated all contracts due to lack of funds. This love was replaced by golf which he thoroughly enjoyed until ill health no longer permitted it. One of his greatest joys was to sit and play the organ that he taught himself to play. He was especially thrilled whenever family and friends asked him to "perform". Catherine's younger brothers and sisters lovingly called him "Big Tony" as he was their role model, mentor and "rock" due to the youthful and untimely death of their own father. This term of endearment and respect continued even after they reached adulthood and "towered" over him. He lived the spirit of volunteerism before it became "fashionable". This was demonstrated by his willingness to assist others in many ways and to "fix and repair" items for family members and friends who had those specific needs. As a member of the Roman Catholic Church he donated a multitude of hours to building, repairing and developing school ground equipment and to renovating projects in the Price and Moab parishes. He also served as diocesan development director for both parishes while chairing several committees. He was an usher for 18 years at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Salt Lake City. Tony is survived by one daughter, Connie Brunetti (Ross); two sons, Robert (Irene) and Anthony (Mindy); three grandchildren, Dr. Ross Brunetti (Andrea), Alicia Montgomery and Hydee Fratto-Barney (Sean); two great-grandchildren (Ross Dominic and Mark Brunetti); sisters, Rose Petta, Tucson, AZ; Vera Miles, Simi Valley, CA; Stella Wallner (Ed) and Angelina Williamson, Milwaukee, WI; and numerous nieces and nephews. Tony was a faithful and devoted family man and will be greatly missed by all who knew him, especially by those who knew his loving heart. Tony did not aspire to greatness, but achieved and exemplified it by the way he lived. His actions and values taught us how to live and how to die. The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Joseph Villa who lovingly took care of our father. They provided quality care while maintaining the dignity that is so critical and important to all of us. In lieu of flowers family requests that donations be sent to Sister Angela's Charity Fund, St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1375 Spring Lane, Salt Lake City, Utah 84117 or St. Joseph Villa, 451 Bishop Federal Lane, Salt Lake City, Utah, 84115.
