Allen, Lee Mark Lee Mark Allen "Our Rock" There was a beautiful sunset on the night the angels took you home. We bid you farewell and told you it was okay to go with them. You were a shining light in this world and our "rock." Lee Mark Allen was born May 16, 1940 to Adlean Croft and John Edwin Allen in Provo, UT. He then worked his way up to Division Sales Manager for Frito Lay and worked at "Frito" for 33 years until his retirement in 1999. Even after his retirement Lee worked hard at home in his garden and at the ranch in Nebraska, where he loved to go and was fortunate enough to go back to visit in April. His life long passion and way to relax was "tee time." Jensen, Kurt Kurt Jensen 1964 ~ 2005 Kurt Jensen, 41, passed away peacefully in the arms of his beloved wife on Aug. 16, 2005 in Salt Lake City, Utah, due to complications of Type I diabetes. He was born June 6, 1964 in Seattle, Washington to Ronald D. Jensen and Gwyneth Owen. At age 40, after a five year courtship, he married the woman he'd waited his whole life for, Tracey Berg Dalby on Nov. 12, 2004 in West Valley City, Utah. Survived by his wife, Tracey; parents, Ron and Gwyn; sister, Linsey (Dale) Durand; nephew, Charles J. Durand; and many other family and friends who miss him deeply. Also survived by three eternal friends, Chad Atkins, Kurtis Lowe and Allen Peacock; and the pets that he loved: Leo, Mary Lou, Meisha, Emily and Jackson. Kurt waited 40 years to marry the woman he adored. Their love was pure and everlasting. His most important goal in life was to make his wife happy; he did that every day. They both felt so blessed for the short time they had together. they cherished this gift of time. Kurt cherished the friendship he had with his parents and sister. He also cherished the friendships he had all over the United States. He quietly helped so many people. He attended the university of Washington and Columbia University. Kurt experienced so many trials in his short life and he always pulled through them with dignity and grace. He was a true gentleman. He loved Bach and all classical music. He read everything he could get his hands on and cherished his book and music libraries. He was a man with so much faith. He was gentle and forgiving. He always put the needs of his wife ahead of his own. He supported his wife in everything she did. He loved her more than anything and she loved him the same way. His laugh and smile were contagious. He loved life and was so thankful for successfully making it through all of the many trials that came his way, starting at age 14, when he was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes. This disease took away his dream of becoming a pilot. He made it through years of dialysis, heart surgery and a kidney and pancreas transplant. He was so thankful for the gift of life he'd been given by a donor whose family decided to give the gift of life through organ donation. A perfect night for Kurt was dinner with his wife, reading, and a trip to the book store to find books and music. He loved to share music with his wife, introducing her to classical music and wonderful literature. He loved to spend time alone with his books, music and writing. He felt blessed by his neighbors who treated him like they'd known him for a lifetime. He worked at Elliot Bay Book Store in Seattle for several years, hosting the reading series. He was so proud of that job. He went from Seattle to L.A. to New York to Philadelphia in a quest to be an editor. He wanted nothing more than to publish a book, which he was in the process of submitting to an editor; "The Children of Job: on Suffering." He was also working on a novel, "The Pilgrimage of His Consolation." He moved to Salt Lake City in January, 2002 to be with Tracey. Kurt was a wonderful writer. He worked for Kirkus Reviews and reviewed several books for the Boston Globe and Los Angeles Times. He also kept several journals. He had an amazing gift with words and language, and spoke fluent Latin and German. Special thanks to the staff of the University of Utah Hospital who provided care for him over the last few years. Very special thanks to his family and those he considered family. He had such deep love for them all. He will be missed more than words can say.
