She was born to Georgia and David Kesler on June 12, 1954 in Salt Lake City where she would make her home. Spending many years as a single mother, there was no one more committed to her children. Holding down two jobs at times, Ruth made it all work and she ensured that her daughter and two sons would have a good home and the opportunities they needed to become the adults they are today. Ruth was a self-made woman. With limited resources, she advanced her career sometimes completely changing direction to fulfill a dream. She taught herself what was necessary to succeed, and earned the respect and admiration of those in the Real Estate Appraisal Community. Ruth belonged to a community of rare people who make it their business to rescue animals. We will never know how many dogs, cats and rabbits Ruth bottle fed in the early hours of the morning so that they would survive and find a good home. Her kindness and compassion were truly an inspiration. Ruth made the world a better place for those privileged to know her.
