Adams, Clesta Worthen         
Clesta Worthen Adams 1911 ~ 2005 Clesta Worthen Adams was born in St. George,
Utah on February 28, 1911 to William and Mary Ann Worthen. She passed away on
November 29, 2005 at the age of 94. She was preceded in death 31 years ago by
her husband A.D. "Lon" Adams. She loved her family which includes son, Darryl
(DeAnne) Adams, daughters, Dixie (Grant) Taylor and Cathy Laraine (Greg)
Hewitt, 13 grandchildren and 31 great-grand-children. Clesta loved young
children and taught kindergarten and first grade in St. George, Utah and
Tucson, Arizona. After retirement, she continued to volunteer at Jackling
Elementary in West Valley City, Utah, and in her neighborhood helping children
learn to read. She also volunteered 13 years extracting information from Welsh
Wills at the LDS Church Office Building. Clesta's other loves were music,
hiking, dancing, yard work and watching Utah Jazz games and BYU sports. She
was an accomplished pianist and taught some of her children and grandchildren
as well as others how to play. In her youth she played accompaniments for
silent movies. She will be remembered for her generosity with her time and
money in helping others. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 3,
2005 at 1 p.m. in the Hunter East Stake L.D.S. Chapel, 5000 West Pavant, (3710
So.) West Valley City. A viewing will be held prior to the services starting
at 11:30 a.m.

Allred, Venetta Elizabeth Howell        
Venetta Elizabeth Howell Allred 1909 ~ 2005 BLUFFDALE- Venetta Elizabeth
Howell Allred, age 96, completed her life on earth and returned to her
Father-in-Heaven on the 29th of November 2005. She was born on the 30th of May
1909 in Taylorsville, Utah, the second of 10 children born to John Albert
Howell and Annie Pearl Butterfield Howell. She attended school in the Jordan
School District. During her teenage years and also after marriage she enjoyed
working in the "Mutual" in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
One of her special loves was writing and helping produce "road-shows" and
plays. Writing short stories was another source of her enjoyment. Some of her
short stories were accepted by publishers and made available to the public. On
January 25th, 1925 she married Joseph Parley Allred. In 1935 their marriage
was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They lived in Sandy and Hunter
before purchasing a farm in Bluffdale, Utah. They spent many years there on
the farm and it was there the children were raised. Some of those years were
during the difficult depression years and the years of drought of the late
1920s and the 1930s. However, even in her most senior years there were still
many fond memories of those challenging years. To Venetta and Parley were born
six children, 24 grandchildren, 54 great-grand-children and 14
great-great-grand-children for a total posterity of 98. Venetta was a loyal
and devoted wife, a gracious and loving mother, grandmother of special
stature. She was preceded in death by parents, her husband - and one infant
son. She will be greatly missed by many. Survivors include two sons: R. Lynn
Allred (Jeannene) - Clearfield, Utah; Gary P. Allred (Margie) - Murray; and
three daughters: Donna Eastman - Herriman; Lyla Jean Gough - Salt Lake City;
and Karen Francis (Chuck) Salt Lake City. She is also survived by three
younger sisters: Verla, Carol and Violet. Thanks for the friendship of the
many special friends cultivated over the years. A special thanks to you who
helped care for her during her later years: A special recognition to Julie and
Scott Gardner who so tenderly cared for her many years while she lived in West
Jordan. Also much appreciated are those who attended to her needs during the
past 10 months: care facility personnel, the doctors, nurses, hospice
individuals, and Mr. Broomhead, all who have been so tender and caring.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday the 3rd of December, 2005 at
the Broomhead Funeral Home in Riverton, Utah. A viewing will be held at the
funeral home on Friday the 2nd of December from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and
again Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m., 12600 S. 2200 W., Riverton,
UT. Interment - Bluffdale City Cemetery.

Bailey, Carter           
Carter Bailey 1975 ~ 2005 Carter Bailey left this earth before his time on
November 26, 2005 as a result of a tragic fire in which his cousin also passed
away. As with all accidents, the suddenness and unexpectedness has been
overwhelming and difficult to accept. Carter was born November 5, 1975 to
Dennis and Julie Bailey. Carter worked as an apprentice electrician and also
in the landscape business. Carter had a magic quality about him that made
people gravitate to him and he was always surrounded by friends. Carter
enjoyed his family and they enjoyed him. Carter was loving, giving and
tender-hearted. He loved to dance. You could always count on having a good
time with Carter. He was especially close to his sister, Jessica. The two were
inseparable during their childhood years. Carter was a sensitive individual
from childhood on. He was an accomplished artist and enjoyed composing poems.
Carter was well known for his culinary skills and frequently was the resident
chef for his friends. Carter's passing creates a tremendous void in all our
lives. Carter is survived by his parents, Dennis and Julie Bailey; brothers,
Preston (Pam) Bailey and Troy (Deena) Maxfield; sister, Jessica (Richard)
Gundersen; grandfather, Richard (Dona) Bell. Also survived by nephews and
nieces Parker, Paisen, Britney, Jenny, Cassie, Garret and Brighton. His
extended family of uncles, aunts and cousins were as close as his immediate
family. A gathering to celebrate Carter's life will be held Friday, December
2nd from 7-9 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 E. 10600 So., Sandy.
A nicheside service will also be held Friday at 12 noon. The family wishes to
express thanks to the Sandy City Fire Department and neighbors for their
assistance. In lieu of flowers, please donate to someone in need at this time
in Carter's name.

Behrens, Peter           
Peter Behrens 1927 ~ 2005 OGDEN- Peter Behrens, born in Bochum, Germany on
April 25, 1927, passed away on November 25, 2005. He is survived by his wife
Dagmar, his three children, Barbara, Philip, and Konrad, his sister Ilse
Wisselmann, and brother Wolf Behrens. We will miss you dearly. A private
service was held with his immediate family. Funeral directors, Larkin & Sons,

Biggins, Maxine Donaldson          
Maxine Donaldson Biggins 1924 ~ 2005 Maxine, age 81, passed away November 29,
2005 in American Fork. She was born Jan 22, 1924 in Standardville, Carbon
County, Utah to Walter Robert and Mary Morgan Donaldson. She married Charles
Perry Biggins on July 15, 1947. Their marriage was later solemnized in the
Salt Lake Temple. She referred to him lovingly as her "beau" up until the very
end. We know that she is delighted to be reunited with "Biggins". She was a
woman ahead of her time, working in the banking industry for 20 years. She was
a devoted grandma to 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She will be
missed by her four daughters, Kathleen, Marian, Barbara and Janice and her
best friend, Tipper. Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec 2, 2005 at 11
a.m. in the American Fork 26th Ward, 975 N. 60 E. Friends may call Thursday
evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 E. 100 N., American

Clyde, Hazel Arlene Savage         
Hazel Arlene Savage Clyde 12/24/17~11/27/05 Our dear mother, grandmother,
great grandmother, sister, and friend, Hazel Arlene Savage Clyde, passed away
Sunday, November 27, 2005 joining her eternal companion William (Bill) Russell
Clyde who passed away on December 22, 2002. She was born December 24, 1917 in
Salt Lake City, Utah to John LeRoy Savage and Anna Helena Hedman Savage. Hazel
graduated from Springville High school in 1936. She married Bill on June 24,
1938 in Tooele, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake
Temple. Together, Hazel and Bill spent their lives in Springville, Utah
enjoying their eight children, 46 grandchildren, and 69 great-grandchildren.
Hazel spent many hours serving others in church callings, 4-H, the community
and as a friend. Hazel was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and
a former member of the Pari Passu Club and the Musettes. She enjoyed square
dancing and participating in community plays. Later in life Hazel and Bill
traveled with dear friends to visit family throughout the United States,
Canada, and Asia. Hazel was a gifted homemaker. She loved to sew, quilt, can
and bake. Hazel loved to spend time in her beautiful gardens. She loved a
productive fruit tree, a bountiful harvest and a blossoming rose bush. She
listened patiently, chided playfully, instructed wisely, reprimanded sternly,
and loved eternally. At her home there was always an extra bed, an extra
plate, and an extra hug. There was always enough Jello, enough cake, and
enough cream for all. No one was ever turned away. Her love for her Heavenly
Father permeated every aspect of her life. Hazel had charity for every soul.
Not only a beloved mother, Hazel was a dear, dear friend. We loved her and she
will be missed. Hazel is survived by her children, Wilford Russell (Anne),
Harold Leon (Aty), Marietta (Norman) Young, Joan (Ross) Whicker, William Dale
(Ellen), Steven LeRoy (Pam), Helene (Larry) Arnett, and Warren Dean (Cindy),
as well as all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also, surviving
are two sisters, Janet (Terry) Selin and Marcille (Ted) Woodhouse, and
in-law's Lena Savage, Louise Clyde, Edna Clyde, Vernon Cook, David Salisbury,
and Blake Gammell. Hazel was preceded in death by her brothers, Clarence, Roy,
Robert, and John Savage, and daughter-in-law, Lucila (Nena) Clyde. Funeral
services will be held Monday, December 5, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hobble
Creek LDS Stake Center, 455 South Canyon Drive, Springville. Friends may call
at the at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 2nd South, Springville from 6 to 8 p.m.
on Sunday, December 4 and from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the service in the
Relief Society Room. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Condolences

Crandall, Eugene E.           
"Gene" Eugene E. Crandall 1945 ~ 2005 Eugene E. Crandall passed away on Nov.
30, 2005 after a 10-year battle from the effects of Agent Orange. Born to Earl
and Virginia (Lake) Crandall in Park City, UT on Oct. 27, 1945. Married
Barbara Carpenter on March 5, 1971 in Salt Lake City, UT. A Vietnam Veteran,
Gene served in the USMC from 1965 to 1968. He was a member of the LDS Church.
He loved all sports and excelled at them as a youth. He was a lifelong truck
driver. Gene is survived by his wife, Barbara, son Jeremy (Jodi), mother, two
brothers Leon (Sharon), Roger (Dorothy) and one sister Shelly (Don) Pead.
Preceded in death by his father, one niece and one nephew. He belonged to the
DAV, VFW and the American Legion. Everyone who met Gene remembered him. A
special thanks to Dr. Saundra Buys for 10 years of her loving care. Viewing
will be Friday, December 2, 2005, from 6 - 8 p.m. at Memorial Mortuary, 5850
S, 900 E., Murray UT. Graveside services will be held Saturday, December 3,
2005, at 2 p.m. at Redwood Mortuary, 6500 S. Redwood Road, with a viewing at
the Redwood location one hour prior to graveside services.

Erwin, Sheri Jeanne Honeycutt           
Sheri Jeanne Honeycutt Erwin 5/16/64/ ~ 11/27/05 A light in our lives dimmed
on Sunday evening, Nov. 27, 2005, when Sheri returned to her Heavenly home. At
the young age of 41, Sheri died unexpectedly at home in Taylorsville, Utah.
Sheri was born May 16, 1964 to Donald L. and Betty Ann (Arnold) Honeycutt in
Durango, Colorado. She attended schools in Silverton and Durango, CO. and
Moab, Utah and graduated from Grand Junction High School, Grand Junction, CO
in 1982. She graduated in 1985 from St. Mark's Hospital School of Radiological
Technology in Salt Lake City in 1985. She married Robert L. Erwin on August
11, 1985 In Salt Lake City and they had two sons, Robert "Paul" and
Christopher Del. At the time of her death, Sheri was employed as a registered
mammographer at Intermountain Health Care Cottonwood Women's Center in Murray,
Utah. She loved her work at the Women's Center and doing things with and for
her family. She was an active member of the Wasatch Hills Seventh Day
Adventist Church. Other loves included reading, crocheting and listening to
country music. She will be missed by many friends, co-workers, neighbors and
family. She touched the lives of many with her unique sense of humor. Those
celebrating her life include her husband and sons of Taylorsville; her parents
Donald L. and Betty Ann Honeycutt of Grand Junction, CO; two sisters, Dee
(Ryan) Goodsell and Tammy Fitzpatrick, both of Grand Junction; her
parents-in-law Robert and Susan Erwin of Salt Lake City; and numerous nieces,
nephews and extended family members. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Friday,
Dec. 2, at Wasatch Hills Seventh Day Adventist Church. Funeral services will
be at 11 a.m. on Friday at the church. Burial will follow at Elysian Gardens,
1075 E. 4580 S. in Murray. Arrangements are under the direction of SereniCare

Evans, Delphia Dee       
Delphia Dee Evans 1926 ~ 2005 Delphia Dee Horn Wilson Evans passed away
peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on November 12, 2005. She was born
July 27, 1926 in Magna, Utah to Alvin Cecil Horn and Gladys Rachel Fowler. She
was a very beautiful, elegant and sophisticated lady. She graduated from St.
Mary's of the Wasatch in 1944 and attended the U of U. She married Peter W.
Wilson in 1947 and later married Stanley C. Evans in 1964. She moved to TX in
1980 and returned to UT in 2004, residing at the Wentworth at Willow Creek.
Delphia was preceded in death by her loving husband Stan and is survived by
her mother Gladys and sister Linda (Jerry) Olson, CO; sons Scott (Stephanie)
Wilson and Brett (Cheryl) Wilson, UT; stepdaughter Claudia (Richard) Bodily,
OR; stepsons Scott (Melody) Evans, UT and Rex (Donna) Evans, NV. She is also
survived by six grandchildren and one great-grand-child; 10 step-grandchildren
and 20 step-great-grandchildren. Graveside memorial services will be held at
10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 3rd, 2005, at Larkin Sunset Lawn located at 2350
E. 1300 So. in Salt Lake City. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to

Fausett, Neil Ray        
Neil Ray Fausett 1927 ~ 2005 Our dear husband, father and brother, Neil Ray
Fausett, passed away November 28, 2005 at the age of 78. Neil was born July
18, 1927 in Price Utah to George and Thelma Jones Fausett. He served in the
U.S. Air Force at the end of World War II. He later attended the Univ. of Utah
and married the love of his life, Gloria Miller in the Salt Lake City Temple
Aug. 16, 1949. Neil was trained as a computer programmer with I.B.M. in White
Plains, New York. He also worked many years as a programmer for First Security
Bank. Neil loved the Utah outdoors, fishing and hiking were his favorite past
times. Neil is survived by his wife of 56 years, Gloria; daughters: Kathy
Kossaras and Patricia Fausett, brothers: Maurice and David Fausett; sisters:
Eileen Grant and Theone Chatman. He was preceded in death by his parents and
brother Vee. With heart felt thanks, the family would like to thank the
Bishopric and Members of the Rose Park 7th Ward for all their love, help and
support. We also thank Love Hospice and the Care Source Center for their care
and support. A Graveside Dedication will be held on Friday, Dec. 2, 2005, 2:00
p.m. at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 S. Highland Dr.

Fugate, Laurie Jo Holindrake       
Laurie Jo Holindrake Fugate 1956 ~ 2005 Laurie Jo Holindrake Fugate, born
September 14, 1956, died November 28, 2005. She lived life to the fullest in
each of her roles: wife, mother, grandmother, friend, sister and daughter.
Laurie loved to garden and her hours spent landscaping in the yard were filled
with enjoyment and satisfaction. Playing with her dogs at the beach, enjoying
concerts with her sweetheart and spending time with her family and friends
were the keenest of pleasures to her. She was a woman of character and courage
who taught her daughters by example and never let a day pass without telling
her family of her love and affection for them. Bubbe, Mom, Rojahana - we are
honored to have had you with us here for the time we did. We will remember
your wit and insight with laughter and love and not forget what we have
learned from you. We are grateful you are relieved from the pain you have
struggled with in the past months, but we will miss you terribly. Laurie
Fugate leaves behind her soul mate RD Fugate, daughters Jenna (Troy) Potter,
Brooke (Layne) Ethington and Ashley Livingston, sister Karen Sanderson,
brother Ron Murphy, mother Janice Murphy, five adored grandchildren - Justine,
Alex, Gavin, Abby Jo and Zack, her dogs, Tess and Lucy and countless friends.
Laurie was preceded in death by her beloved parents, George and Maxine
Holindrake and brother Lance J. Murphy. Funeral services will be held
Saturday, Dec. 3, 2005 at 12 noon, at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 So.
Highland Dr., where friends may call Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and

Garnas, Theresa Margaret Leaver Snape        
Theresa Margaret Leaver Snape Garnas 2/24/18 ~ 11/28/05 Margaret Snape Garnas,
age 87, died peacefully on November 28, 2005, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Her
courage, faith, and ability to "accept each day as it comes," was her true
gift to her family and all those she inspired. Margaret faced numerous
hardships throughout her life, yet was adamant she had lived a good, long
life. She loved life. Margaret was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on February
24, 1918. She married William R. Snape, Sr. on October 15, 1936. Margaret
worked as a secretary for the army during World War II, then MGM Studios.
Margaret and Bill then owned a laundry mat, Sparkle Car Wash, Ken Rey
Apartments, Maytime Manor Nursing Center, Tiny Tike Toys and Bill Snape
Marine. Together she and husband Bill worked side by side and devoted
themselves to their son, daughter and grandchildren. At age 79, she met and
married Lyle Garnas and lived seven cherished years sharing all the best that
life can offer. Margaret is a past patron of Eastern Star, Park City Chapter.
She is preceded in death by husbands William R. Snape, Sr., and Lyle Garnas;
parents, Theresa Hoffenbeck and William Hartlett Leaver; brothers, Clifford,
Verl, Fred, Earl, and Meryl Leaver. Margaret is survived by son William R.
(Laurie) Snape, Jr., and daughter Sharon (Robert) Cook, grandchildren, Justin,
Jeremy, Bronco, Stephanie, Nicholas, Melissa, Kristen, Vanessa, Christopher,
Brady and Coby. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 1, 2005, 12
Noon at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 3900 So. 2500 East, where friends may
call from 11-11:50 a.m. Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery under the direction
of Wasatch Lawn Mortuary.

Groll, Nancy        
Nancy Innes Groll 12/24/51~11/28/05 HIGHLAND, UT - Nancy Innes Groll passed
away peacefully, at her home surrounded by her loving family Monday, November
28, 2005. She was born Dec. 24, 1951 in Salt Lake City, to Russell and Phebe
Weston Innes. She married Steven Groll on March 17, 1973 in the Provo Temple.
She is the mother of three children, Nanette (Bart) Brockbank, Weston, and
Rebecca (Josh) Peck and three grandchildren; Stockton, Kennedie, and Weston.
Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life. Nancy graduated
with honors from Lehi High School and Utah State University. She was active in
the LDS Church, where she was currently serving as Stake Relief Society
Secretary. Nancy held many positions including Young Women's President, Relief
Society teacher, and Ward Activities Committee chairman. Nancy also faithfully
served two missions; at the LDS Conference Center in Salt Lake City and the
Missionary Training Center in Provo, where she shared her testimony and love
of the gospel. She is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, her
sister Paula (Kip) Peterson, her brother Weston (Jody) Innes and numerous
nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. Preceded in death by her parents.
Nancy touched the lives of everyone she knew. Join us as we honor Nancy's life
on Friday Dec. 2nd from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Highland Utah West Stake Center,
1100 N. 6000 W., Highland, Utah. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec.
3, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Highland West Stake Center. Friends may call one
hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Lehi City Cemetery under
direction of Wing Mortuary, funeral directors.

Haacke, Dolores Bird          
Dolores Bird Haacke 1927 ~ 2005 BOUNTIFUL - Dolores Bird Haacke, age 78,
passed away Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2005 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Born June 7, 1927
in Salt Lake City, Utah the daughter of Floyd Henry Bird and Josephine
Hickenlooper. Dolores graduated from Davis High School in 1944 and went on to
obtain her LPN License. She married S. Lincoln Haacke, June 29, 1948 in the
Salt Lake LDS Temple. He passed away October 29, 2003. They served an LDS
mission in the Indianapolis, Indiana Mission. Dolores was a caring nurse and
worked in many hospitals around the valley and treated all who came to her
door. She was an avid lover of the theater and performed in the opera, Ieda.
She served as Drama Director in the Young Women's and Young Men's program for
many years and served in the Relief Society and Sunday School. She had a great
talent for writing and shared this ability throughout her life. Survived by
her daughters, Bobby Haacke, Nevada; Carol J. Lalor (Bill), Salt Lake City;
Bonnie J. Hadlow (Jim), West Bountiful; Jana L. Westergard (Lynn), Mesa, AZ;
11 grandchildren; eight great-grand-children; brother, Floyd H. Bird (Kathy),
Provo; sisters, Janet Anderson, WA; and Helen Bryson (Wallace), ID. Preceded
in death by her husband; daughters, Michelle Argyle and Pamela Vigil; sister,
Jean Blake and parents, Floyd and Josephine Bird. Funeral services will be
held Saturday, December 3, 2005 at 1 p.m. at the LDS Chapel, 1500 South 800
West, Woods Cross, Utah. Friends and family may call Friday evening from 6 - 8

Higbee, Dr. Nellie T.         
Dr. Nellie T. Higbee "Educator" Loving mom, caring sister and faithful friend,
Dr. Nellie T. Higbee (Aunt Nell) responded to her new calling November 22,
2005. Born Jan. 12, 1923, in Cannonville, Garfield County, Utah, to Joseph W.
Thompson and Rachel Wilson. Married Howard James Higbee September 5, 1942, in
the St. George Temple; he preceded her in death by 60 years. Dr. Higbee
graduated from Dixie High School and Dixie Jr. College in St. George, and was
a young widow with a 2-yr. old daughter when she decided to return to college.
She earned bachelor of science, master's and doctor's degrees at BYU. Dr.
Higbee taught 3rd grade in Cedar City, Utah, from 1947-1951, then became
elementary supervisor for the combined districts of Garfield and Piute
Counties (Utah) 1951-1955. From 1955 until her retirement in 1983, she was
supervisor of elementary education for Murray City Schools. During her
professional career, Dr. Higbee served in the International Reading
Association, the Association for International Childhood Education, Chairman
of Utah State Kindergarten Committee, President of Murray Business &
Professional Women and served on several committees for the National Council
of Teachers of English. She also served in the Utah Association of Supervisors
and Curriculum Development and on the Utah Women's Legislative Council. She
cherished her membership in the LDS church. Her service included Pres. of Ward
YW, various auxiliary teaching assignments, and ward and stake organist. In
recent years she served a proselyting mission in Florida, in the Genealogy
Name Extraction program, and as a worker in the Jordan River Temple. She is
survived by her daughter, Joan Bean (Paul R., II) Las Vegas, Nevada, and
step-grandson, Paul R. Bean, III, (Trey), Salt Lake City, Utah. She is also
survived by her brother, George W. Thompson (Ada), Cannonville, Utah, and
sisters, Marva Fletcher, Cannonville, Utah, Rayda Barton, Richmond Virginia,
and Laurie Coon (Theron), St. George, Utah. Nell's family express gratitude to
Good Shepherd Hospice, Nurse Ann Lazenby, and to the folks at Residence Care
Source. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 3, 2005, 10 a.m. at

Velda Hoskins "Sweetheart, I'll meet you in heaven" Velda Bernice Anderson
Hoskins, 80, passed away November 30, 2005. Born May 17, 1925 in Centerfield,
Utah, daughter of Andrew Christian and Josephine Fredrickson Anderson. Married
Arden Hoskins August 6, 1946; sealed in Salt Lake Temple in 1985. She worked
for the LDS Church clothing mill in Salt Lake City for 19 years. She loved to
fish and enjoyed nature. Survived by husband, Arden; sons: Larry LaVern
Hoskins, Colorado; Ray Hoskins, Salt Lake City. Preceded in death by son, Lee
Arden. Funeral services will be held Friday, 12 noon at the Cannon Stake
Center, 934 West Fremont Avenue (1110 South). A viewing will be held Thursday,
6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Friday at the
church, 11-11:45 a.m. prior to service. Interment, Utah Veterans Memorial

Huber, Audrey Scott           
Audrey Huber 7/14/18 ~ 11/27/05 Audrey Scott Huber, 87, passed away November
27, 2005 at the home of her daughter in Lindon, Utah, due to causes incident
to age. Born July 14, 1918, the second daughter of Della Smith and Denon
Scott, in Brookhaven, Mississippi. Audrey graduated from Lloyd Star High
School in 1937, and married Bennie L. Woolley in 1938. They had one daughter,
Rita Ann. Bennie passed away in July, 1941. After Benny's death, Audrey went
to work for her brother-in-law at J. A. Huber Shoe Shop in Jackson,
Mississippi. In 1956, she married Clarence C. Hultz but was again a widow in
1958. She married Henry A. Huber in 1974, and they continued to run the
business together until poor health forced them to close the shop. Huber Shoe
Shop was a landmark on Capitol Street for many years, and Audrey made many
friends there in the 42 years she worked. Widowed again in l981, she moved to
Clinton, Mississippi until 1999, when she moved to Utah to live with her
daughter and to be near her granddaughters and great-grand-children. Survivors
include daughter, Rita Woolley Penix (Roy G.) of Lindon, Utah; two
granddaughters, Audrey Theresa Allred (Mike) of Lehi, Utah; Debra Michelle
Okelberry (Scott) of American Fork, Utah; seven great-grandchildren: Benjamin,
Joshua, and Rebecca Allred; Matthew, Camille, Steven, and Michelle Okelberry.
She is also survived by sisters Wisie Smith of Wesson, Mississippi; Nita
Hanenkrat of Rancho Santa Margarita, California; and Virginia Hurst of
Brookhaven, Mississippi. Audrey was preceded in death by three husbands, her
parents, and older sister, Agnes Woolley. The family would like to give
special thanks to Leann Jackson. She has been Audrey's hospice nurse during
her illness and a very special friend to all of us. She has been our own angel
during the last three years. Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 4,
2005 at 12:30 p.m., at Riverwoods Funeral Home in Brookhaven, Mississippi.
Visitation will be prior to services at 11:00 a.m.

Hunsaker, Damien J.           
Damien J. Hunsaker "Dax" Before dawn on November 26, 2005 Damien "Dax"
Hunsaker unexpectedly died. A young man, just 22-years-old, lived life on his
own terms, but whose life was tragically cut short in a house fire that also
took the life of his beloved cousin, Carter. Dax was born August 29, 1983 to
Jerald and Mariam Hunsaker. He was their only child. As a child Dax was curly
haired and toe headed with a disposition that matched the kink in his locks.
As he outgrew the curls, he matured into a loving, responsible, selfless young
man. He was a proud member of the Jordan High School graduating class of 2002.
He later attended business classes at Salt Lake Community College. Dax worked
with his father at Covington Capital Corporation and often talked about
someday taking over the business. He reveled in the benefit of the "mileage
allowance" and volunteered his car for whatever the assignment required. He
loved three-day weekends, road trips, hotel sleepovers, fajita parties at his
mom's, holidays spent in the St. George condo, power shopping at Costco,
detailing his car, movies, video games and his cell phone. How does one use
3,000 minutes of air time a month? He was truly a platinum T-mobile customer.
Dax had a tender, kind heart and always sought out to befriend the weakest
member of the group. He had a diverse range of friends. No one would ever feel
uncomfortable in his presence. He was accepting of all and knew that judgment
was not his to make. He taught his parents many lessons - not the least of
which was patience. He had a charming, commanding presence, a brilliant smile
and was just one handsome dude. He took pride in his appearance and was the
consummate gentleman. You always felt important in his company. He loved
animals and during his short life had quite a variety. He should tell you the
story about the snake that got loose in his dad's Jimmy at Fish Lake. He
leaves behind two dogs, Snuffy and Gizmo. He loved his family and was fiercely
loyal to them and was never too proud to give his father a hug or tell his
mother he loved her. Dax leaves behind his most prized possession; his family.
Included therein, his father, Jerald Hunsaker, mother, Mariam (Paul) Kay,
grandparents, Thomas and Vilda Hunsaker and Richard (Dona) Bell, four uncles,
five aunts and 38 wonderful cousins. Dax is preceded in death by his
grandmother Venice Bell. Friends and family are invited to attend a
celebration of Dax's life Thursday, December 1, 2005 at the Marriott
University Park Hotel, 400 South Wakara Way, Salt Lake City from 6:30 to 8:30
p.m. Graveside services will be held at the Larkin Sunset Gardens, on Friday,
Dec. 2, 2005 at 11:00 a.m., located at 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy. In lieu
of flowers, donations can be made in Dax's name to the Humane Society of Utah

Barbara Owen Kelsch 1916 ~ 2005 Our mother, Barbara Owen Kelsch, went to her
heavenly home November 30, 2005. She was born December 19, 1916 in Ammon,
Idaho to Charles Henry Owen and Betsy Vilate Kingston. She married Louis Alma
Kelsch, November 9, 1933. She spent her life serving her large extended
family, temporally and spiritually. She is survived by children, siblings and
a large extended family. Preceded in death by her husband, Louis and son,
Robert. A viewing will be held Friday, December 2, 2005, 11 a.m. until 1:30
p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple followed by a graveside prayer, 2
p.m. at Elysian Burial Gardens, 1075 E. 4580 South. The family deeply

Clarence W. Linnett 1919 ~ 2005 Clarence Walter Linnett, loving husband,
father, grandfather and great- grandfather, passed peacefully on November 29,
2005, age 86, to join his loved ones who preceded him. Born in Leicestershire,
England in 1919 to Clarence Gordon Linnett and Elsie May Bradley. Married
Grace Rudd, 14 August 1948; moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1949 to have his
marriage solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Clarry loved life and was very
active in the LDS Church. His favorite pastimes were football (soccer),
scouting (obtaining the equivalent of Eagle Scout), and serving in the church;
especially loved working in the temple. British army veteran of World War II.
He promoted soccer as an officer of the Utah Soccer Association for many
years. Clarry took pride in all his endeavors. Served in many church
leadership positions and loved people. After Grace died in 1986, he was
married and sealed to Barbara Neilson in the Jordan River Temple 7 April 1987.
Survived by his wife Barbara; four of his children, C. Gordon (Renee), DeLynn
(Sumi), Claudene (Ken) Wabel, Geoffrey (Pat); daughter-in-law Irene; nine
grandchildren; 24 great- grandchildren; sisters Elsie Armstrong and Doreen
Archibald. Preceded in death by wife Grace, parents, brother Edgar, and son
Evan. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 3, 2005, 10:00 a.m. at
Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Drive. Friends and family may call

Col. Gerald B. McAllister 1/4/1918 ~ 11/28/2005 Gerald Bennion McAllister,
loving and devoted husband, cherished father, grandfather and
great-grandfather passed away November 28, 2005 at age 87. Born January 4,
1918 to Joseph Fitzgerald McAllister and Vera Bennion McAllister in Salt Lake
City, Utah. Married Donna Snow, May 2, 1939. Later solemnized in the Salt Lake
Temple. Attended East High and the University of Utah. A distinguished U.S.
Air Force pilot who proudly served his country for thirty years. President of
the Better Business Bureau of Salt Lake. He took pride in all his endeavors
and did them well. He dearly loved his family and was so proud of their many
accomplishments. Survived by children, Annette (Marshall) Heard, Gerald
(Sharon) McAllister, Michael (Jane) McAllister, Dawnette (Michael) Hock, Marie
(Kenny) Mays, Marilyn (Richard) Jones; 14 grandchildren and 20
great-grandchildren; brother Warren McAllister. Preceded in death by his
loving wife, both parents, a brother and a sister. Funeral services will be

Papanikolas, Katherine Soter       
Katherine Soter Papanikolas 1915 ~ 2005 Katherine Soter Papanikolas was born
in Midvale, Utah on July 1, 1915 and died in Oakland, California on Sunday,
November 27, 2005. We, her children, called her Mom; our children called her
YiaYia; our Dad called her Kate; her many nieces and nephews called her Aunt
Kate or Aunt Katie; friends called her Katie some called her Katherine. In
remembrance of both Mom and Dad, here we will call her Kate. Kate died after a
long illness as a result of complications related to age and diabetes. She
lived in the Salt Lake valley virtually all her long and productive life. The
last six years she has lived in Oakland, California with her daughter,
Georgene Kosmos. Kate was valedictorian of the Jordan High School class of
1933; she married John E. Papanikolas in Salt Lake's Holy Trinity Greek
Orthodox Church in 1937; she gave birth to each of her three children in Salt
Lake's Holy Cross Hospital and she participated in Utah chapters of many
philanthropic and civic organizations including the Order of the Eastern Star,
the Salt Lake Opera Guild, and Philopticos Society and she was an early patron
of the Utah Symphony Orchestra, the Utah Opera Company, and Ballet West. Kate
was preceded in death by her parents, Gregory Frank Soter and Ellen Drimouris
Soter; her husband John; and all her siblings, Mary Soter, Sam F. Soter and
Fay Soter Sargent. Kate is survived by her children Michael J. Papanikolas and
Barbara Burt Papanikolas, Georgene Papanikolas Kosmos, Gregory J. Papanikolas.
She is also survived by eleven grandchildren: Theresa Papanikolas, Katherine
Kosmos, John Papanikolas, Kristan Kosmos, Amelia Papanikolas Hannon, Stephanie
Kosmos, Susan Papanikolas, Matthew Papanikolas, David Papanikolas, Amanda
Papanikolas, Andrew Papanikolas, their respective spouses and nine great
grandchildren. In addition to her children and grandchildren she leaves Lyn
Martin Papanikolas, Chris Kosmos, her dear sisters-in-law Katherine F.
Papanikolas, Ida P. Collard, Willa Dean P. Cocorinis, and Dorothy H.
Papanikolas, many nieces and nephews and her devoted companion Zufan Amde.
Kate's life was fruitful and blessed. She brought a positive influence to the
lives of practically everyone she knew and she was universally loved. The
world is a better place because of Kate and she will be sorely missed. A
viewing and prayer service will be held on Friday, December 2, 2005 from 6:00
- 8:00 PM at Evans and Early Mortuary, 574 E & 100 S in Salt Lake City. The
funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2005 at 11AM at Prophet
Elias Greek Orthodox Church, 5335 S. Highland Drive, Salt lake City with
burial immediately afterward at Mount Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the

Paul J Paulsen 1926 ~ 2005 Paul J Paulsen, beloved husband, father,
grandfather, brother and friend, age 79, passed away with his loving wife by
his side Tuesday, November 29, 2005. Born May 19, 1926 in Orangeville, Utah to
Glen F. and Julia Jewkes Paulsen. Married Grace McElprang March 29, 1948;
later sealed in the Manti Temple. He was a life long member of The Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Paul was always a missionary and faithfully
served two church service missions with his sweetheart. He also faithfully
served in various church callings such as bishopric and the stake high
council. He had an unwavering faith of the Savior. He also served his country
in the Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Paul retired from
Associated Foods. Survived by his loving wife, Grace; children: Judith (Bob)
Davis, Pauline (Grant) Dansie, Glen (Patty) Paulsen, Alma (Linda) Paulsen,
Janean (Glen) Roach; proud grandfather of 12: Robert (Stephanie), MaryAnne
(Steve), Richard (Angela), Trenton (Jayme), Mark (serving in the Philippines,
Naga Mission), Michelle (Damon), Jennifer (Stacy), Peter, Erin, Chancie,
Marshal (Reagan), and Christina; 14 great-grandchildren: Robert III, Jessica,
Carly, Ryan, Madison, Megan, Zackary, Kennedi, Joshua, Braydon, Collin, Brady,
McKaila, Tayler; sisters: Glena (Paul) Zielke and Linda Hansen. Preceded in
death by daughter, Joyce; brother, Alma; sisters: Elaine and Fay. The family

Iona Rose Rasmussen They Are Together Again Our loving mother was reunited
with our father on November 26, 2005. Mom was born Feb. 20 1920 to Jacob and
Rose Losser of Salt Lake City, Utah. Mom married Leland Ray Rasmussen Apr. 17
1937 in Salt Lake City, their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti
Temple Aug. 27 1966. Mom loved and cared for her family and will be sorely
missed by all, especially her six children, 24 grandchildren, 50
great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She enjoyed fishing,
painting, hunting arrowheads, crocheting and playing Yahtzee. Everyone loved
mom's delightful spirit. Mom worked as a dietician for Monticello Schools and
Highland Manor. Family surviving Iona: sons Roger, Boyd, Rex and daughters
Susan, Pamela and Debbie, sister LaFawn, brothers Wayne and Mack. Preceding
her in death: Husband Leland Rasmussen, parents Jacob and Rose Losser, son
Douglas Ray, brother Wardell and sister Darlene. Funeral Services will be held

Reid, Robert C.          
Robert C. Reid "Bob" Our beloved, special "Bob", 82, passed away on Nov. 25,
2005. Bob was born on June 29, 1923 in Salt Lake City to Clif and Laura
Shotwell Reid. Bob grew up in Magna and attended Webster Elementary School
where he first met his special "life mate", Beth. They graduated together from
Cyprus High School. He married Elizabeth "Beth" Ashby on Aug. 29, 1946. He
helped build their home in Murray, where they lived for 56 years. Beth passed
away March 9, 2005. Bob was employed at Kennecott before serving in the Marine
Corps during World War II. Bob had a career in sales before finding his true
passion in commercial art and display works. He took pride in and was known
for his creativity and quality "craftsmanship" in both his personal and
professional life. He loved growing a garden and cooking. He enjoyed sharing
those special talents, as well as hunting, fishing and vacations, with family
and friends. Bob was a member of the LDS Church. Bob is survived by his son,
Dan (Cheryl); sister-in-law, Dortha Reid; three grandchildren, Aimee (Alan)
Smith, Brian (Angela) Reid, and Kevin Reid; four great-grandchildren, A.J.,
Alex, Lexi, and Aiden. Also preceded in death by his brother, Ken. Family and
friends will miss Bob dearly, but will always have their many special
memories. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 3rd at 12:30 p.m. at
Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State St., where friends and family may call

Toomer, Gerald Ross           
Gerald Ross Toomer 1925-2005 Our father, grandfather and hero died peacefully
in his sleep at his West Valley home Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005. He was 80 years
old. Born Sept. 22, 1925, to Lavon Barkdull and Clifford "Tip" Toomer of
Montpelier, Idaho. Graduated from Montpelier High School. Graduated in 1947
from the United States Military Academy at West Point. Served in the U.S.
Army's 82nd and 101st Airborne divisions - a proud Screaming Eagle. Served in
Berlin, Germany, following World War II, and in Vietnam as an advisor to the
South Vietnamese Army. Married Barbara Greenlee, at Ft. Bragg North Carolina
on September 5, 1953. Ross played saxophone in a dance band in his youth. He
loved fly-fishing in Idaho waters, playing cards, cracking jokes, and
crossword puzzles. He was a connoisseur of all things sweet, and never met a
chocolate chip cookie he didn't like. He loved literature and history. He had
a 2,000-tome library, and had read each at least once. He wrote poetry, and
recently won a national contest through Readers Digest, which also published a
short story he wrote. He was a lifelong Democrat, and once ran for the
Minnesota House of Representatives. A child of the Depression, Ross lived
modestly. But he invested in what mattered: people. He often gave freely and
selflessly to friends and family who dreamed of starting their own business,
had fallen on hard times, or just needed a lift. He loved to chat with
everyone, and particularly enjoyed people he met at the VA. His final gift is
that of himself: He donated his body to further the education of University of
Utah medical students. Survived by wife, Barbara; children Stephen, New York;
Jean Layton (Willis), James, and Jennifer Toomer-Cook (Tim), all of Salt Lake;
three grandchildren: Eric and Bethany Layton and Lauren Cook; sister, Joann
Berrey, Idaho Falls. Preceded in death by parents and sister, Jean. Please
join us in an open house to honor Ross and share stories, laughter and tears.

away on Wednesday, November 30, 2005 at her home in Spanish Fork, Utah, of
natural causes. She was 67-years-old. She was born in Beaver, Utah on October
1, 1938 to George Elmo Gillies and Jeneva Shipp Gillies. She married Robert
Wells Wentz on Dec. 10, 1953 in Springville, Utah. The marriage was later
solemnized in the Manti Temple Dec. 23, 1954. They had three sons, two of
which died shortly after birth. They later divorced. Deanna then married
Gordon Maxwell and they had one son. They divorced and she married Paul John
Kowacich. After he passed away she remarried her first husband, Robert Wells
Wentz July 19, 1990. Deanna attended elementary school in Beaver and high
school in Springville. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints, she served in the Relief Society and especially loved doing temple
work. She ran a day-care for 16 years in Roosevelt, Utah and worked as a
waitress for many years, particularly enjoying being of service to others. She
was a "people person", a very special spirit and loved by everyone who knew
her. She loved children, horses, crafts, jewelry making, her flower garden and
collecting things. She is survived by her husband, Robert Wells Wentz; sons:
Ron M. Wentz (Delly) of West Jordan, Utah and Rick G. Maxwell (Jodi) of
Vernal, Utah; sisters: Shirley Gillies Rockwood (LaVar) of Lindon, Utah; Ida
Rene Gillies McDowell (Dave) of Fairview, Utah; brother, Bonner Elmo Gillies
(Diane) of Springville, Utah; stepchildren: Robin Page Wentz Allred (Carl) of
Trout Creek, Utah; Kimberly Val Wentz Williams (Mont) of Spanish Fork, Utah;
Utahna Myree Wentz Jessop (Shem) of Rocky Ridge, Utah; Race Wells Wentz
(Marci) of American Fork, Utah; Banner Lane Wentz (Autumn) of Nephi, Utah;
Christian Colt Wentz (Traci) of Spanish Fork, Utah; 28 grandchildren and seven
great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two babies
Robert Wells Wentz, Jr. and Steven Gillies Wentz. Funeral services will be
held at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South in Springville, Utah on Saturday,
December 3, 2005 at 11 a.m. There will be a viewing at the mortuary Friday
evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to the services.
Interment will be in the Provo City Cemetery 610 S. State. Deanna wished to

Woolley, Jay Calvin           
Jay Calvin Woolley "A Ute Man Till He Died" Jay left us on Tuesday, November
22, 2005, in his sleep. Jay was born June 21, 1939, in Salt Lake City, Utah to
Calvin Roberts Woolley and Ivy Walker. He attended school in Salt Lake,
graduating from East High in 1957, having played on the championship football
team. Jay attended the University of Utah, majoring in business Administration
and played football there as well. He served a two year LDS Mission to the
West Central States. Jay spent 25 years with Western Airlines, starting at
Salt Lake airport, then served in Managerial position in San Francisco,
Billings, Cheyenne, and then to the Los Angeles Corporate offices in the
Government Affairs Dept. He served as the Director of Government Affairs his
last three years of service. Western Airlines held a special place in his
heart and he continued to think of it as "The Only Way To Fly". It was there
he met his wife, Barbara, who was a Western Stewardess for 15 years. From his
years of association with Utah Legislative members, Governor Bangerter asked
Jay to join his new staff as the Utah Travel Council Director, and he was
delighted to return home and be actively involved in promoting the state as a
tourist destination. "Utah! Greatest Snow on earth" was launched, with the
help of Harris & Love's Michael Gallivan. He was actively involved in the
campaign for the Winter Olympics bid for the 1998 Games. Jay served the Travel
Council for eight and a half years, and remained in touch with several of his
former staff members. Jay later spent several years associated with Willey
Honda in Bountiful, where he and his family resided for 18 years. Jay and
Barbara moved to Palm Desert, CA in October 2002, where he became associated
with J & W Management as a Properties Manager for several large gated
communities in the valley. He loved to spend his spare time on the golf course
as a resident of Palm Desert Greens C. C. Jay is survived by his wife Barbara
Williams. They were married and sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. They just
celebrated their 25th anniversary in September with a golfing trip to Kapalua,
Maui. Also survived by their daughter Jeannine E. Greeno and son-in-law Seth,
Clearfield, UT; their first grandchild Emma Kate, whose first birthday they
celebrated Nov. 4; brothers Dee R. Woolley (Carol) and Dr. James W. Woolley
(Jeanette) all of Salt Lake. He was a favored uncle to many nieces and
nephews, and was a loved son-in-law to Jess and Mildred Williams of Palm
Desert. Preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Sue, and LouJean W.
Jensen. A memorial service was held in Palm Desert on Monday, November 28 at
2:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at
Monterey Ave. and Parkview Dr. Funeral services will also be held in Salt Lake
City on Saturday, December 3, at 12:00 noon, with a viewing on Friday from 6-8
p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of services at the Larkin Mortuary,
260 East South Temple. Interment will be at the Larkin Sunset Lawn Cemetery,
2350 E. 1300 So.

Worthen, David Michael        
David Michael Worthen 1963 ~ 2005 David Michael Worthen, born January 5, 1963,
passed from this life into the next at his home November 29, 2005. He is
survived by his children, Collin, Zachary, and Nicholas Worthen; parents,
David L. and NaDene Worthen; sister, Debra Worthen Oldroyd (Paul); nephews,
Andrew, Daniel, and Patrick Oldroyd; grandmother, Gladys Roesner; aunts,
uncles, cousins; and special friend, Kim. He was a member of The Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a student at Brighton High School he
developed many relationships while working on his car with friends. His keen
mechanical ability and love of a challenge developed into his adulthood. Known
as one of the best health and exercise technicians in Salt Lake, he used his
abilities to provide for his sons, who he lovingly supported in many
activities, BMX racing, football, skateboarding, and guitar. He always took
time to listen while fixing our cars, he always had a smile, even at the worst
time. Dad loved the outdoors, hiking, fishing, and exploring Utah four
wheeling his truck. Everything good we have learned was taught by him. Thank
you Dad from your three boys for filling our lives with loving joy, for always
being there for us even when times were rough. You will always be in our
hearts just like we were in yours from the start. Love-Collin, Zach, Nick.
Graveside services will be held Friday, Dec. 2, 2005 at 11:30 a.m. at the
Midvale City Cemetery, 450 West 7500 South.
