Alldredge, Lily Dee
Lily Dee Alldredge Sweet Angel Lily Dee Alldredge precious daughter of David
O. Alldredge and Hetty L. Alldredge was still born February 14th, 2005. She is
survived by maternal grandparents, William H. Hopkinson of Las Vegas, NV;
Deanna Carter of Ivins, UT; great-grandparents Ernest W. and Helen Carter and
Lavern Hopkinson of St. George, UT; paternal grandparents, David A and Laura
Alldredge and Paul and Denise Ormond Pulley of Salt Lake City, UT;
great-grandmother, Eve Chynoweth of Ferron, UT, as well as many loving aunts
and uncles. Graveside services will be held Saturday, February 19th in Salt
Lake City, UT. Rest in peace sweet angel.

Anderson, Agnes
Agnes Anderson 1912 ~ 2005 Agnes Arletta Phillips Anderson, age 92, died Feb.
15, 2005 at the home of her daughter. Born Aug. 3, 1912 to Levi Augustus and
Matilda Gurney Phillips in Lehi, Utah. Married Hyrum Dale Anderson, Mar. 20,
1934 in the Salt Lake Temple. Four children were born to this union: Phillip
Dale (Gail); Lorraine (Lee) Openshaw; Rosalie (Robert) Larkin; and Neil Levi;
11 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Gave special care to her handicapped son, Neil, for 20 years. Member of LDS
Church. Served faithfully in many Church positions. Served a mission with her
husband in the Independence, Missouri Visitor's Center. Temple worker for 10
years. Preceded in death by her husband, Dale; two children, Rosalie and Neil;
and two great-grandchildren, Mark and Elizabeth West. Survived by two
children: Phillip, Lorraine and sister, Freda (Nyal) Fletcher. Funeral
services will be held Saturday, Feb. 19, at 11 a.m. in the Midvalley Seventh
Ward Chapel, 1211 East 7800 South. Friends may call Friday 6-8 p.m. at Larkin
Mortuary, 260 East South Temple and at the ward one hour prior to service.
Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.

Andrus, Shawna Colleen Salazar
Shawna Colleen Salazar Andrus 9/30/1979 ~ 2/6/2005 Our precious little
Patches, Shawna Colleen Salazar Andrus returned to the loving arms of her
Father in Heaven on Sunday, February 6, 2005, due to injuries sustained in a
tragic automobile accident in Flagstaff, Arizona. She was born on Sunday,
September 30, 1979, to Michael Shawn and Colleen Jayne Smith Salazar at St.
Mark's Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. Shawna, and the love of her life,
Joshua Brock Andrus, celebrated their first wedding anniversary on August 30,
2004. Shawna graduated from Taylorsville High School in 1998, and was employed
at Discover Card. Shawna and Joshua enjoyed spending time with their fat cat,
Tonto. Shawna will be remembered as an uncomplicated and perfect person. She
loved everything purple and collected anything related to frogs. Shawna was a
strong willed woman. She was charming and loved making new friends. Shawna's
dream was to become a police officer, following in the footsteps of her Uncle
John. Shawna is survived by her devoted husband Joshua, her parents, Mike and
Colleen, brothers and sisters, Melissa (Jim Ranke-Joshua's best friend),
Michael Jr., Angela, John, and Patrick. She is also survived by her
father-in-law Brock Andrus, mother-in-law Sherry, Joshua's sister Lexi, as
well as her grandparents and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Shawna was
preceded in death by her Uncle Joel and Aunt Carmen. In order to provide
Joshua sufficient time to recover from his injuries and to be in attendance,
the Vigil Service will be held Sunday, February 20, 2005, at 7:00 p.m. Funeral
Mass will be celebrated Monday, February 21, 2005, at 11 a.m. All services
will be held at St. John the Baptist Parish, 300 East 11800 South, Draper,
Utah. Interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 South Highland Drive, Salt

like to express our deep appreciation for the overwhelming love and support we

Bailey, Marjorie Jackson
Marjorie Jackson Bailey 1919 ~ 2005 Marjorie Jackson Bailey passed away
February 17, 2005. Marge was born in Nephi, Utah on October 6, 1919, the
daughter of Leon Nephi Jackson and Emily Lee Jackson. She had many interests,
but none quite so grand as her family. Her 65-year marriage to Monte D. Bailey
began in 1939. In 1947 they settled in Ogden and together they reared four
daughters: Linda Beynon of Salt Lake City; Nancy (Ronald) Oyler of Ogden;
Clela Madsen (Michel) Salvo of Ogden; and Karen (Michael) Mooney of Boise,
Idaho. Marjorie thrilled to her seven grandchildren and six
great-grandchildren and anticipated yet another on the way. Her life's great
tragedy was losing a beloved grandson to brain cancer. Her smile and quick wit
will be remembered by all who knew her, including all who met her during her
28 year career at the Ogden Chamber of Commerce. In 1984 Marjorie was the
recipient of the Ogden Chamber's most prestigious award "Order of the Western
Big Hat." Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Harold
and William, and her grandson, Todd Schumacher. Funeral services will be held
Saturday, February 19, 2005 at 3:30 p.m. at Leavitt's Mortuary, 836 36th
Street, Ogden, Utah. Family friends may call Friday, February 18, 2005 from
6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the services at Leavitt's Mortuary.

Deragon, Anthony Lawrence "Chief"
Anthony Deragon "Chief" SYRACUSE - Anthony Lawrence Deragon, 46, passed away
Monday, Feb. 14, 2005 at McKay-Dee Hospital from a rare pulmonary embolism. He
was born June 6, 1958 in Ashland, Wisconsin to Anthony and Esther Rose
Deragon. He was raised by Walter and Ester Rose Miller. Anthony served in the
U.S. Navy from 1977-1983. He married Deborah Crowther January 13, 1994 in
Amarillo, Texas. He was the owner of Prolift Forklift Service and Sales. He
was baptized a member of the LDS Church Dec. 6, 2002. He served with the
scouts and deacons. He was a loving husband and father and enjoyed spending
time with his family. Surviving are his wife Deborah, children, MacKenzie,
Dakota, Skylar and Sierra. and older children Christopher, Michael, Matthew
Deragon from first marriage, and four grandchildren. Preceded in death by his
son Jeremy Lee Deragon. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 19,
2005 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd. Friends
and family may call Saturday from 12:45-1:45 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment,

DuBois, Stephen Dale
Stephen Dale DuBois 1916 ~ 2005 Stephen Dale DuBois, age 88, beloved husband,
father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away on February 14, 2005
from causes incident to age. He was born on 2 July 1916 in North Mankato,
Minnesota, to Edward Henry DuBois and Ethel Alvira Walrath. He married Slyvia
L. Smith who passed away in 1989. His second wife was Caroline Bowthorpe who
passed away in 2004. He had a great love for the outdoors and an amazing
knowledge of plants, insects, birds and all animals. He was a graduate of
Mankato State University, Makato, Minnesota. He was a biology teacher for many
years at Ellsworth High School in Ellsworth, Minnesota, at the same time he
served as the school basketball coach. He is a World War II veteran, achieving
the position of Captain as an Anti-Aircraft Gun Unit Commander. He is a
retired employee of the State of California, having served as an Efficiency
Expert in Work Force Services. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-day Saints. Survived by his sister, Isis Dean (Burdett) of
Edina, Minnesota, daughters, Kathe (Kevin) Mitchell of Walnut Creek, Ca,
Kristina (Glenn) Wilfert, of Sandy, Utah, two grandchildren and one
great-grandson. Preceded in death by his parents and brothers Arden and
Cedric. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 19, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at
the Granite View Ward Chapel at 2675 E. Mount Jordan Rd. (9800 South), with a
viewing one hour prior to services from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. Burial, Larkin
Sunset Gardens.

Duncan, William
William E Duncan 1939 ~ 2005 William E. Duncan, age 65, passed away peacefully
February 8, 2005 after a long struggle from complications of diabetes. Bill
was born July 17, 1939 in Whigham, Georgia to John Floyd and Clyda Worn
Duncan. He grew up in Georgia and was sent to Alaska after enlisting in the
military. It was there he married Virginia Ruesink in 1962 and later had three
children. After leaving the military he joined an engineering firm in Alaska.
His firm relocated him to Salt Lake City in 1981. He was an active member of
the Christ United Methodist Church in Salt Lake City. He loved his family,
Georgia, reading, fishing and his remote control. He will be dearly missed by
his family and friends but we are glad to know that he is no longer in pain.
Survived by his wife Ginny; children Michael, Karen and Laurie; grandchildren
Nick, Drew, Kelli, Parker, Gabrielle and Conner; and brother Myron Prevatte.
Special thanks to his medical providers for their compassionate care. Funeral
services were held Sunday, February 13, 2005 at the Whigham United Methodist
Church in Whigham, Georgia. Memorials may be made to Christ United Methodist
Church or the American Diabetes Association.

Fehrs, Angela C. Williams
Angela C. Williams Fehrs 1962 ~ 2005 Angela C. Williams Fehrs, age 42, passed
away on February 13, 2005, in Grover Beach, CA. She was born March 5, 1962, to
Floyd Dee Thomas and Eva M. Schacht in Salt Lake City. She married Bill
Williams; they later divorced. She then married John Fehrs. Angela enjoyed her
membership in the LDS Church, especially during her younger years. For the
past 20 years, Angela served as an officer in the U.S. armed forces. She
currently held the rank of Major. She was trained for many assignments. Some
of her time in the service was spent as a helicopter pilot and with the DEA.
While assisting the DEA, she trained law enforcement officers all over the
country. Needless to say, there were numerous other assignments during her
service years. She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Eva Dodge Baxter
and Thomas Baxter, of Sandy; sisters, Judith Borges (Pat), Wendy Jensen
(Kirk), and Laurie Willis; stepbrothers, Steven (Carol), Randy and David; and
many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jonathan.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 19, at 10 a.m. at Crescent 4th
Ward, 949 E. 10600 S., Sandy. Visitation will be held for an hour prior to
services. Interment will be in California. In lieu of flowers, donations may

Foreman, Shirley
Shirley Foreman 12/26/36 ~ 2/15/05 Shirley Foreman, beloved mother,
grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, wife and dear friend passed away
peacefully February 15, 2005. Her family was by her side. The lord gave us the
last hours and Valentines Day with mom. Shirley was born December 26, 1936 to
Rudolph Hodges and Violet Monette in Kearsarge, Michigan. She was a very
strong-willed and independent lady. She enjoyed family gatherings and the
company of her children and grandchildren, setting an example of love,
direction and genuine care for all that knew her. She enjoyed time to herself,
her pets and later, her daily routine around her immaculately kept home.
Shirley liked to crochet, care for her plants and gardens, reading and being a
mom. She loved to cook, especially those recipes handed-down from family.
Shirley was beautiful throughout, graceful in life and finally in death. Her
touch was so kind and strong. She worked much of her life providing care for
the elderly. She understood their physical and mental needs, being there for
so many as they lived and passed away. She cared for others and openly shared
her enthusiasm and love for life. Shirley touched the lives of everyone she
met, leaving a legacy of patience, love, kindness, direction and energy. We
all love, admire and will miss her inner strength and her abundant character.
Shirley worked and traveled with her husband. When younger, she enjoyed the
outdoors, adventure and camping. She loved our great country and the
communities where she shared her life with others. She lived in Allouez, MI;
Lake Linden; MI, Green Creek, MI; White Pine, MI; Franklin Park, IL; Tooele,
Kearns, and South Jordan, Utah. Shirley has a large and very close family. She
is survived by her husband, Willard Foreman and three children, Judy Manley
(Alan) and Janice Dunstan (Robert) and Glenn Foreman (Sharleen). Shirley has
seven wonderful grandchildren, five very special great grandchildren, and
numerous nieces and nephews. Shirley has four sisters, Tina Hodges, Audrey
Ison, Gloria DesTrampe, Patti Matta, and Rose Herron. Shirley is preceded in
death by her son Alan Foreman, her brother Samuel Hodges, her sister Grace
Hodges, mother, Violet Monette, and father, Rudy Hodges. Private family
services will be held Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005. Although she will always be with
us, here and in heaven, it will be difficult. We are left with a special sense
of inspiration and many great memories. With many tears and great sorrow, we
will forever miss her smile and gentle, warm touch.

Fulton, James Reynolds
James Reynolds Fulton "Jimbo" James Reynolds Fulton, age 75, passed away
February 15, 2005 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Jim was born October 3, 1929 in
Drumwright, Oklahoma to Homer and Martha Fulton. He loved to cook, play the
guitar and listen to country music. He married Gloria Barney on March 4, 1950
in Richfield, Utah, they later divorced. Together they had four children;
Melvin (died at birth), Bonnie (Rod) Butterfield, Marie (Bob) Freudenberger
and Lowell Fulton. He has four grandchildren, ten great-grand-children and one
great-great-grand-daughter. He is also survived by two sisters; Oleta Birdsong
and Marie Nichols, as well as many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by
both parents, his little brother, Harold and one son. The family wishes to
thank Dave Stong and Harmony Home Health. Funeral Services will be held
Monday, February 21, 2005 at 12:00 noon at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West
4100 South. The family will receive friends at a viewing Sunday evening from
5-7 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service on
Monday. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.

Groscost, Kathleen Sharp
Kathleen Sharp Groscost 1938 ~ 2005 Kathleen Sharp Groscost, a loving wife,
mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to many passed away
on Feb. 15, 2005 after a courageous and valiant battle with ALS. Born Aug. 5,
1938 in Tooele, Utah, to William Harold Sharp and Mary Smith. She grew up in
Tooele and had a happy childhood. She attended schools in Tooele where she
enjoyed learning and excelled in many activities. She met Jim Groscost and
enjoyed church and school functions together. They were married Oct. 8, 1954
in Tooele, Utah. Solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple Oct. 7, 1955. Kathy was
always active in the LDS Church serving in various callings. At the age of 23
she was called as a Primary president in the Holladay 15th ward by Bishop Paul
Davis. She went on to serve the young women in the ward as a teacher in
various groups over the years and loved many into activity in the church. She
served as Young Women's president, ward Relief Society president, and as stake
Relief Society president in the Olympus Stake. She was a dedicated and devoted
mother to J. Michael (Cheryl), Gary B. (Leisa), Janalyn and Richard S.
(Tiffany). She is the grandmother of 15 and the great-grandmother of 3 8/9.
She will be remembered as an efficient and well organized person ready to help
with any project. She was clever and resourceful and had a willingness to
serve. She loved to travel and with Jim they traveled around the world. She
was a green thumber and loved to work in her gardens. She loved flowers and
knew exactly the kind and type that would grow in her yard. She would plan and
have parties that included two or 200 and loved to entertain. Her home was her
castle and she loved to share of her talents with others. She showed an
exceptional and unconditional love to all and in so doing cultivated many
friends over her lifetime. She would never leave anyone out of any activity
and made sure all was comfortable. Her special time of the year was Christmas
and she spent many days decorating the house so the family could enjoy this
special feeling. She was always eager to spend time with her family and
friends. It was always a good time for food and she was a great cook, eager to
share with others and enjoy their company. She enjoyed bowling with her
buddies, sewing with the group and dancing with Jim. She was grateful to be
able to celebrate her 50th anniversary this past year with her family and
friends at her cabin in Weber canyon. We will miss this special person.
Funeral service will be held Sat., Feb. 19, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Olympus 5th
Ward, 3070 Nila Way, Salt Lake City, viewing will be held 6-8 p.m. at Wasatch
Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Dr, Salt Lake City, and again one hour prior to
service at the church. Interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park at 3401
Highland Dr.

Gunn, Janice Enid Timms
Janice Enid Timms Gunn 1921 ~ 2005 Janice Enid Timms Gunn, 83, passed away
peacefully February 15, 2005. Born April 12, 1921 in Centerville, Utah,
daughter of Thomas and Arminta Timms. Janice was an active member of The
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Fruit Heights 4th Ward. She
served in many positions and was loved by all. After 60 wonderful years of
marriage, Janice and her husband Lester were sealed in the Bountiful Temple in
January 2005. Janice is survived by her husband, Lester Gunn; daughter, Ruth
(Phil) Duarte of Cloverdale, CA; son, Steven (Elna) Manning of No. Salt Lake;
daughter-in-law, Sarah Gunn of Tucson, AZ. She is also survived by a sister,
Ruth (Joseph) Edmunds of St. George; and brother, Keith Timms of Kearns.
Preceded in death by her sons, Douglas Gunn and Earl Gunn; a daughter, Enid
Marie Manning, and brothers, Leslie Timms, Bertrand Timms, and Stanley Timms.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 19, 2005 at 2 p.m. at the
Fruit Heights Stake Center, 170 N. Mountain Road. Friends and family may call
Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main and
Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the church. Interment, Centerville City
Cemetery.

Hales, Madeline Lee
Madeline Lee Hales 1988 ~ 2005 Our beautiful, loving daughter, sister, and
friend returned home to our Heavenly Father on Valentine's Day, February 14,
2005 at the age of 16. Mature beyond her years, Madeline was born October 25,
1988, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Nicholas and Michal Hardy Hales. She was a
sophomore at East High School, a cheerleader, member of the dance company and
an honor student. Madeline loved beauty in all things. Beautiful music,
beautiful dancing, and, most of all, beautiful people, made Madeline's life
and others', full and rich. Madeline was disciplined, organized and
self-motivated and pursued her goals with commitment and vigor. Madeline's
laugh was spontaneous and frequent and her warm, natural smile brightened the
darkest day. Madeline enjoyed and loved her many friends and often befriended
the underdog or just someone who needed a friend. Madeline was an active
member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her primary focus
in her life was obeying her Heavenly Father and following her Savior Jesus
Christ. She loves the Gospel and knows the joy that comes from serving others.
Madeline developed many talents and did not hesitate to share them. Blessed
with an angelic voice, Madeline lifted her listeners heavenward. She performed
frequently in plays and musicals at City Repertory Theatre, Grand Theatre,
Hale Center Theatre and in school productions. She danced with the Salt Lake
Dance Center, Children's Dance Theater, in Ballet West's Nutcracker and
performed as a child of light during the 2002 Salt Lake Olympics. Madeline's
primary love was her family. She simply preferred to be with them even as a
teenager. She is a devoted sister, daughter and granddaughter. We will miss
her deeply in all areas of our lives, but know that our separation from her is
temporary and for a small moment. Her sisters Emilie, Rachel and Angela, her
brothers Russell, David and Clayton, her grandparents Russell and Carma Hales
and many aunts, uncles and cousins, survive Madeline. Her maternal
grandparents Grant and Janell Hardy preceded her in death. Funeral Services
will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 19, 2005 at the Monument Park
North Stake Center located at 1300 S. Wasatch Drive in Salt Lake City, Utah. A
viewing will be held Friday, 6-8 p.m. at Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 1300 S. 2350
E., and Saturday at the Stake Center 90 minutes prior to the service.

Hess, Laurie Dawn
Laurie Dawn Hess 1958 ~ 2005 Laurie Dawn Hess, 46, was born August 27, 1958 to
William R. and Fern R. Hess of Salt Lake City, Utah. Our Laurie valiantly
fought an infection that came on fast and took her long before any of us were
ready to let her go. She returned to our Heavenly Father on February 8, 2005.
She leaves behind a beautiful daughter, Abigail Rebecca; two brothers, Rick
(Anne) and Chip (Beatrice); and three sisters, Becky Boyack (Harold), Jodi
Ellsworth (Butch), and Julie Thomson (Dan); numerous aunts, uncles, friends,
and nieces and nephews; especially Tyler, Ryan, Mitchell, Alexis, and Megan
for whom she frequently provided loving daily care. Laurie's easy smile and
cheerful attitude made you want to be her friend. Spending time with Laurie
inevitably meant lots of laughter. Laurie was a loving and devoted mother, a
fantastic cook, she had a beautiful singing voice, was very articulate with
the written and spoken word, and created amazing works of art with her crochet
hook. Laurie recently discovered a new talent - teaching. She was an assistant
in a computer class, and her students instantly loved her - just like the rest
of us. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 19, 2005, at 12:00
noon at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 10600 South 1950 East, Sandy. A visitation will
be held on Friday evening, February 18, 2005, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and again
on Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m., just prior to the funeral service. The
family would like to express deep gratitude for the gentle and loving care
Laurie received at the Intensive Care Units at Cottonwood and LDS Hospitals,
most specifically, her nurses Jeannette and Rob.

Kajiyama, Bill
Bill M. Kajiyama 1/1/1956 ~ 2/14/2005 Bill M. Kajiyama, 49, passed away Feb.
14, 2005 in Salt Lake City. He was born January 1, 1956 in Salt Lake City,
Utah to Shigeki and Kimiko Endo Kajiyama. Bill was an avid golfer and bowler.
He is survived by his mother; brothers Kenny and Bobby Kajiyama, sisters Peggy
Pearson, Debbie (Gil) Trujillo and Nancy (Randy) Pearson, nephews, Travis
Pearson, Nathen Pearson and Oswaldo Noriega; nieces Brandy (Jeremy) Smith,
Kristy Pearson, Dena Kajiyama. Great-nieces Briana Smith, Kaitlyn Smith,

Lambert, Marjorie Isabelle Linton
Marjorie Isabelle Linton Lambert 1909 ~ 2005 Marjorie Isabelle (Linton)
Lambert, age 95, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2005 at home with her six
children and many other family members at her side. She was the daughter of
John Barrett and Frances Child Linton. Marjorie married Thomas Allan Lambert
in the Salt Lake Temple on December 7, 1932. Mom's life was centered around
her children, extended family and the Gospel. She enjoyed visiting with her
children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and sharing her love of life
and testimony with them. Her life was spent in serving others. She loved her
various callings in the church, including, Primary, Young Women, Relief
Society, and especially her many years of service in the Salt Lake Temple. She
was amazingly imaginative and her hands were always busy creating gifts for
others. Visitors often left with a hand-made gift. After her beloved husband's
untimely passing, she learned to live independently, and enjoyed being able to
live in her home and manage her own personal affairs very successfully. She
had the opportunity to visit her children living in California, Japan and
Georgia. She was known for her beautiful smile that greeted everyone. Even
casual acquaintances were edified by her sweet spirit and commented on her
smile. Her concern for others was evident in everything she did. She is
survived by her four sons and two daughters: Robert Allan, Howard John
(Nancy), Thomas Linton (Jo Ann), St. George, UT; Glen Lionel (Janet), Marjorie
Cannegieter (Ron) Georgia and Ann Hansen (Alan); 32 grandchildren; 78
great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her
parents, her eternal companion; Allan, nine siblings, daughter-in-law Myrna
Holding (Robert's wife), and grandson Tobin (Robert's son). Funeral services
will be held Saturday, February 19, 2005, at 11:00 a.m., at the East Millcreek
1st Ward, 2700 East Evergreen Avenue (3435 South). Friends may call on Friday
evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300
East, and at the Church on Saturday from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the

Paulson, LaVon Norton
LaVon N. Paulson 1915 ~ 2005 LaVon Norton Paulson, 89, our beloved mom,
grandma, and friend passed away on February 15, 2005 in the loving presence of
her family. She was born June 10, 1915 in Hiawatha, UT. to James and Lillian
Norton as the youngest of nine children. She married Don Paulson on October
19, 1935 and their union was later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. She is
survived by her five children; Sally (James) Featherstone, Carole (Evan)
Williams, Reed (Berenda) Paulson, June Cassidy, Brad (Cindy) Paulson, 11
grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. LaVon was preceded in death by her
husband, Don in 1964, two grandsons, as well as all of her siblings. Mother's
life was an example of love and devotion to her family. She will always be
remembered for her kind caring ways, smiling face and sweet dimples. Funeral
services will be Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005 at 12:00 Noon at Memorial Mortuary,
5850 S. 900 E., Murray, UT. Friends and family may visit Friday, from 6-8 at

Pedersen, Vivian L.
Vivian L Pedersen 7/14/1910 ~ 2/16/2005 MURRAY- Vivian L. Pedersen, 94, died
Wednesday, February 16, 2005 of natural causes. She was born July 14, 1910 to
Alfred and Ellen Hanson in Murray Utah. She was the youngest child of two
brothers and a sister and the final survivor of her family. She married
Clarence Pedersen February 14, 1941. She was a member of the Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a longtime resident of Murray, Utah. She
came of age during the Great Depression. Vivian was a devoted wife and mother.
She was valiant as she cared of her husband in his final years. Her love and
concern has always been for us even until the end. Her family will miss her
but we know she will be in our hearts forever. She is survived by her two sons
Ray Pedersen (Linda) and Chris Pedersen (Karen); grandchildren Tyler Pedersen
(Jeri Lynn) Jodi Tueller, Kallie Tueller, Karaghan Lily Tueller, Jennifer
Pedersen, Kathy Pedersen and other nieces and nephews. She is preceded in
death by her husband Clarence and her son Don Pack. We want to express our
appreciation for the compassionate care our mother received at Garden Terrace
and Care Source Hospice during her final months of her life. A funeral will be
held at Jenkins and Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State Street, Murray, UT, Monday,
February 21 at 11:00 am. A viewing will be held Sunday evening February 20,
5-7 p.m. and one hour prior to the service. Interment, Murray City Cemetery.

Pinales, Raymond Anthony
Raymond Pinales 1953 ~ 2005 Raymond Anthony Pinales "Ray" passed quietly from
this life on February 15, 2005. Ray was born December 11, 1953 in San Marcos,
Texas to Humberto and Esther Pinales. He grew up in San Marcos and graduated
from Palo Duro High School. On November 16, 2002, he married Ginger, who he
referred to as the angel of his life. Ray has a love of model trains, theater,
comedy improv, doing movie productions and chasing trains. The loves of his
life are his wife, six kids, and his grandchild Alayna. He is an Elder in the
LDS Church. He was employed at Cisco and previously employed at UTA. He had a
contagious smile, a big heart, a zannie personality and loved to make people
laugh. He self-proclaimed himself "The Mad-Mex". Ray is survived by his wife,
Ginger, parents, Humberto Pinales (Flora) and Esther Pinales and in-laws Clara
Welsh and Vince Welsh, children; Adam, Briana, Megan, Skyler, Devon and Ryan
Spencer. Grandchild; Alayna, brothers and sisters; Phillip (Martha), David
(April), Michael, James, Richard Maggi, Julie Maggi, Tammy Lee (Mark); Grandma
Eggett and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and friends. The
family will meet with friends at the Farmington. Utah 1st Ward, 825 South 50
East, from 8:00-9:45 a.m. on Saturday, February 19, 2005. The funeral service

Rex, Diania H.
Diania H. Rex 1916 ~ 2005 ST. GEORGE, UT- Diania Haycock Rex, a beloved
daughter of God, returned to Him February 9, 2005. Born September 12, 1916 in
Panguitch, Utah, she was the youngest of Albert F. and Margaret Hatch
Haycock's four children. They later moved to Salt Lake City where she
graduated from East High School in 1934. On October 14, 1940, she married
Harold M. Rex (of Randolph, Ut) in the Salt Lake Temple. Their home was
blessed with five children. Government and service to The Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-day Saints took their family to many parts of the world. As a
young mother she and her husband presided over the Brazil Mission from
1945-1949. Harold worked for the US Foreign Service in Brazil, Bolivia, Peru,
Paraguay, Libya, Trinidad, and Colombia. Diania was a wonderful hostess and
friend to foreign dignitaries and many general authorities who visited. Life
was not easy being so far from family and homeland. They were often the only
LDS members in a country, holding church services in their home. Diania
instilled in her children a love of the gospel of Jesus Christ and a deep
appreciation for their American heritage and freedoms. After retiring in 1975,
they returned to the US and their family, making St. George their home. In
1977 they accepted a mission call to serve in the Genealogical Society's
extraction program. They traveled to New York, Central America, Haiti, the
Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and Jamaica to secure permissions and oversee
the microfilming of church and government records. They returned and built
their first home in Bloomington in 1984. Living in impoverished parts of the
world enhanced Diania's natural compassion for all people, and especially
those less fortunate. She taught her family service and sacrifice as she
volunteered in many settings such as hospitals, schools and libraries. In St.
George she worked for eight years at the Chamber of Commerce and donated over
3,500 hours to the Dixie Regional Medical Center as a Pink Lady. An avid
reader, she especially loved helping children and adults learn to read. A
champion of good causes, her family first, she worked cheerfully and
tirelessly for others. We know her joy continues. She is survived by her
loving children: John (Deann) of St. George, Ut., Jeff (Joette Marie) of
Escalante, Ut., Yara (Wayne) Selph of Salt Lake City, Ut., Judd (Cindy) of
Yorba Linda, CA., and J.B. (Fran) of Leeds, Ut., 26 grandchildren, and 35
great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings,
husband, and one grandson. Her family wishes to express heartfelt thanks for
the love and care she received at Brighton Gardens and through the hospice
program. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 19, 2005, at 10
a.m., at the Winchester Hills LDS 2nd Ward Chapel, 5338 N. Winchester Dr. A

Roach, Vicky V.
Vicky V. Roach 1948 ~ 2005 Vicky, beloved daughter of God, returned to Him
February 15, 2005. She rejoined her mother Ferne who preceded her in March of
2004. Vicky was born September 8, 1948 to Ferne and Ellis Varcoe. She was
raised in Salt Lake City where she met her eternal companion Tom. They were
married July 31, 1968 in the Logan temple. An artistic and creative woman, she
enjoyed sharing her talents with family and friends. She was always supportive
of those in need, unconditionally giving of her love. Vicky had the uncommon
ability to empathize with the many people who's lives she touched. She was a
mother to many more than the children to whom she gave birth. She enjoyed
traveling with her family, especially along the majestic Southern Oregon
coast. She is survived by her husband Tom; children Lisa (Tom Frankowski),
Corey, Rebecca (Jason Pahl), Gregory; and grandchildren. Also by her father
Ellis and sister Nancy of Fort Jones, CA. Funeral services will be held

Hannah Schweibish 12/14/04 ~ 2/15/05 MAGNA-Our sweet precious Hannah was
called back early by the Lord February 15, 2005 after passing away in her
home. She was born December 14th, 2004 at LDS Hospital, Salt Lake City, Utah
to Jared Schweibish and Jody Finley. She lived just a short time yet touched
an enormous amount of hearts. Hannah Lynn loved spending time with her family
and being mauled by her brother and sisters. She had big wandering eyes, with
a soft smile that made people melt. We were so blessed to have her with us and
she will live in our hearts and memories forever. We love and miss you and
will always be in our prayers Boo Hannah. Hannah is survived by her parents,
Jared Schweibish and Jody Finley; brother, Sean, sisters Kamei and Bradie. She
is also survived by grandparents, Mary Adams, Kenneth Schweibish, Tom and
Ronda Beecher, Rick and Shannon Harrold; great grandparents John and Ruth Van

Ellen Grace Hanson Schweppe "Devoted Wife, Mother" Ellen Grace Hanson Schweppe
died February 16, 2005. Born September 3, 1925 to Roy David and Johanna
Magdelena Wolf Hanson in Buena Vista, Utah. Grace was an active member of the
LDS Church. More than anything she loved her husband and family. Grace loved
good books, music, art and travel; was a talented seamstress; she donated many
hundreds of hours in service to family, friends and community and was
thoughtful in remembering those who served her family. Survived by her loving
husband, Ralph C. Schweppe, Sr.; daughters, Mary Ellen Barnes, Kathryn Stevens
Carbine, Ruth (Rictor) Glass, Bette (Bruce) Miller; Roselyn Earl Stevens, Mary
Jane Michaelis; sons, Rex (Kathy) Stevens, Glen (Annie) Stevens, Ralph C.
Schweppe, Jr.; sisters, Marlene (Burton) Lorensen, Josephene (DeVel) Gedge;

Simmons, Beulah Monk
Beulah Monk Simmons 1929 ~ 2005 Beulah Monk Simmons, 75, of Bountiful died
Wednesday, February 16, 2005 at the U of U hospital after a brief illness. She
was born April 26, 1929 in Cowley, Wyoming to Thomas and Chloe Monk, and
married Lee T. Simmons September 3, 1947 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mother
was dedicated to the Gospel and found fulfillment in her years of service at
the Bountiful Temple. Beulah is survived by her husband of 57 years; their
five children: Calvin (Janice) Simmons, Colette Miller, Marvin (Patty)
Simmons, Ron (Sharon) Simmons, Marilyn (Rick) Olsen; a brother Coulam Monk; a
sister Mary Cloward; 24 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was
preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Jones and Calvin Monk.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 19, 2005 at 10 a.m. in the
Bountiful Hills Ward, 1190 E. Bountiful Hills Drive, Bountiful. Friends may
call Friday evening 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 N. Main

Smith, Joann Despain
Joann Despain Smith 1938 ~ 2005 Joann Despain Smith died on February 6, 2005
in Arlington, Virginia after a long illness. Joann was born and raised in Salt
Lake City, Utah where she attended local schools including the University of
Utah. She was born on September 5, 1938, the only child of Vaughn and Ruth
Rosenlund Despain. She met G. Robert Smith on a blind date on Friday,
September 13th, and later recorded in her journal that it was the "luckiest
day of my life." She is survived by her husband and three children, Leslie
(Roland) Whatcott of Salem, Utah; Stephanie (Reeve) Southam of Bowling Green,
Ohio and Gerrit (Stacy) R. Smith, Jr. of Greensboro, North Carolina. She was
the proud grandmother of six granddaughters and four grandsons, Corinne (Ben)
Whatcott Potter of Prosser, Washington; Candace, Christine, April, Angela,
Daniel, Matthew Whatcott, all of Salem; Jacob Southam, of Bowling Green;
Juliana and Jackson Smith, both of Greensboro. Joann was delighted to have two
beautiful great granddaughters, Natalie and Lucy Potter, of Prosser. Joann was
an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and
served as a long-time and loving teacher of children and as president of her
wards and stakes Primary, Young Women and Relief Society in the McLean
Virginia Stake and in the Virginia Beach, Virginia Stake. All who knew Joann
loved her for her friendliness. Her health declined following two strokes, and
recently she suffered another stroke, causing her great pain and discomfort.
She is now freed from that suffering for which her family is grateful, with
our understanding that she is in a state of happiness with her loved ones in
paradise where she and they shall rest from all their troubles and from all
care, and sorrow. Funeral services were held in McLean Virginia on February
12, and Salt Lake City services will be held on Saturday, February 19 at 2:00
p.m. in the chapel at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Drive in Salt
Lake City where friends may call one hour prior to the services. Interment
will be at the cemetery following the services. Joann was a great champion of
the poor and the needy, and as such contributions may be made, as a memorial
to her, to Sri Lankan Help, P.O. Box 994, McLean, VA 22101 to assist the
wonderful people of that country who lost loved ones in the devastating
Tsunami, and who are rebuilding their homes with our help.

Stanfield, Carmen Nicolle "Nikki"
Carmen "Nikki" Nicolle Stanfield 1942 ~ 2005 Carmen "Nikki" Nicolle Stanfield
died peacefully in her home on January 25, 2005 in Boise, Idaho. Nikki was
born in Twin Falls, Idaho on April 6, 1942 to Olivia and Orville Stanfield.
She grew up in Boise where she graduated from Borah High School in 1960. She
married Clayton Winn in 1964. She lived in Boise, Hawaii, California, and Salt
Lake City where she held many jobs and excelled at them all including many
years as a checker. She enjoyed the many people that insisted on going through
her line even if they had to wait. Nikki had too many friends to count and was
loving and kind to everyone especially those in need. She had an adventurous
and generous spirit and was never afraid to try new things. She loved animals
and plants, even those that others had given up on. She enjoyed collecting
antiques, water skiing, traveling, movies, and dancing. She wanted to return
to school and learn sign language. She loved her family, especially her
grandchildren. Nikki endured a debilitating injury for the last 16 years. Her
strength and inner will helped her persevere through this difficult period.
She is survived by her mother Olivia, her children Rachel, Cristina, and
Jeffrey Winn, her brothers Patrick and Michael Rockwell, and her grandchildren
Conner and Emily Hooper and Parker Winn. She lost her daughter Jennifer in
1980 and never stopped grieving and missing her. We are all comforted that she
is finally able to join her again. Now you can rest peacefully sweet girl. You
will always be in our hearts and minds. Funeral Services will be held
Saturday, February 19, 2005, 2:30 p.m. at Cloverdale Memorial Park, corner of
Fairview and Cloverdale, Boise, Id.

Weber, Dale "Lynnie"
Dale "Lynnie" Weber Will Be Missed Dale "Lynnie" Weber is survived by her
husband Don "Cutter", her three sons, Shane, Andy, and Jake. She succumbed
after a 21/2 year struggle to injuries she sustained when we were hit by a
drunk driver. Her smiles and joy will be missed by all who had the good
fortune to have known her. There will be a Celebration of Life to be held at
the Barbary Coast Saloon 4242 S. State Street on Sunday the 20th at 4 p.m. All
are welcome to attend.

Westwood, Ralph W.
Ralph W. Westwood 1928 ~ 2005 Ralph W. Westwood died February 13, 2005 in Salt
Lake City. If you are reading this, I have taken my last breath. Instead of
your having now to put together my obituary, consider letting me write it for
you, as follows. I was born on March 29, 1928, to William H. and Gladys Barker
Westwood, in Salt Lake City. I grew up there and after graduating from the
University of Utah College of Law in 1952, practiced law there for a time,
mostly while working half time and later full time for the State of Utah. That
job led to my working for the U.S. Bureau of Public Roads in Washington, D.C.
My last job of any consequence, it involved the collection and analysis of
highway accident and travel data. In time, I left Washington to live again in
Salt Lake City. I never married, living most of my life with my stepmother,
Ruth Newman Westwood, in her home in Salt Lake City. There she gave me
sustenance of every kind, sacrificing unstintingly in doing so yet avoiding
being judgmental with me about my many shortcomings. That I didn't deserve
what she did for me is a huge understatement. To each member of my family
(both nuclear and extended) and to each of my friends: Thanks for the joy and
richness you brought into my life and for being you. Carry on...and take care.
Ralph is survived by mother, Ruth N. Westwood, sisters; Carol (Arnold) Angle,
Sandy, UT., and JoAnn (Gale) Johnson, Grover, WY; brothers; Dale (Shirley)
Westwood, Salt Lake City, and Richard Westwood, Cedar City, UT; and many
nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, sister Lucile (Carl)
Weatherbee, nieces, Shauna Angle and Linda Weatherbee. Memorial services will
Friday February 18, at 3:00 p.m. at the Wasatch Ward, 1750 South 1500 East.
