Ackman, Edith M.
Edith M. Ackman "Our Angel" SALT LAKE CITY - Edith M. Ackman, born September
13, 1935, passed away February 23, 2005 in her home with family by her side.
She married Howard Ackman in June, 1954. Preceded in death by her husband and
a son, Lynn. Survived by her children, Chrissy, Howie, Marv, Gordy, Bo, Kevin
Colleen, and Carleen; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grand children. "Edie is
our true meaning of an angel" A gathering of family and loved ones will be

Austin Jr., Raoul Emery
Raoul Emery Austin Jr. 1920 ~ 2005 Raoul Emery Austin, Jr., 84, passed away at
the RTA Hospice Center in Casa Grande, AZ on Feb. 18, 2005. Ray was born on
July 2, 1920 to Raoul Emery Austin and Laura Cole Austin in North Salt Lake
City, Utah. Ray married Faye Delores Spencer in April. 1942, and began serving
four years in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After Ray's discharge from
the Navy, he returned to Bluffdale, Utah and subsequently Taylorsville, Utah.
Ray heard the gospel in 1953 and continued in This Way until his death. He
partnered with Harry Rozema to form Rozema & Austin Construction Co. and later
Larry Dean Construction Co. with his son Michael. Faye preceded Ray in death
in Nov 1998. Ray later married Esther Emogene Williston on July 21, 2001 in
Casa Grande Arizona, where he lived until his death. He is survived by his
wife Esther, son Larry Ray Austin and wife Dorothy; daughter Deanna Fay
Chafee; daughter Shanna Lee Olson and husband Harvey; son Michael Dean Austin
and wife Carol; stepson, Kent Williston; brother Bruce Austin; and sister Ann
Poston. He will be greatly missed by 13 grandchildren and 11
great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at Redwood Memorial
Estates at 6500 South Redwood Rd. on Feb. 28, 2005 at 2:00 p.m.

Bragonje, Albert H. "Bert"
Albert H Bragonje "Bert" Albert H Bragonje, 95, passed away February 21, 2005.
Born January 20, 1910 in Odgen, Utah. He attended Ogden City Schools and Weber
College. He was preceded in death by his parents Jenny Tingen Bragonje and
Albertus Bragonje, sisters Henrietta and Alice, and brothers John and Harold.
Bert married Cecile Jane Wheeler on September 3, 1940. He is survived by his
wife of 64 years, Cecile, daughter Claudia (Gary) Thompson of Hurricane, UT;
Nancy (Brent) Larsen of Foster City, CA and Louise Hulet of Tooele, UT; his
brother Earl of College Park, MD. also seven grandchildren Eric (Candice)
Mitchell and Crystal (Charlie) Mitchell, Sasha, Christian, and Miranda Larsen,
Samuel (Krystle) Hulet and Rena (Dusty) Griffith. two great-grandsons, Kaleb
Samuel Hulet and Xander Eugene Mitchell. Bert was a Lapidary instructor at the
Heritage Senior Center in Clearfield, UT and at the Golden Years Center in
Bountiful, UT. He was a silversmith instructor at the Golden Hours Center in
Odgen, UT. In addition he was a guide at the Natural History Museum in the
Union Station in Odgen, UT. He was a member of the following organizations:
The International Wood Collector Society; The National Rifle Association; The
Golden Spike Gem and Mineral Society; The Browning Collectors Association. He
was a passed member of the Albany Oregon Kiwanis Club and had been a charter
member of the Albany Oregon Toast Masters Club. While Bert was a member of the
Browning Collectors Association, he obtained the financing from the
association and supervised the placing of a monument to the world-renowned
firearm inventor John M. Browning in his hometown of Ogden, UT. Bert has
chosen cremation with no service or flowers. Please make donations in the name
of Albert H. Bragonje to Primary Children's Hospital. Friends may visit
family, at the Bragonje home, Saturday February 26th between 2:00-6:00 p.m.

Brown, Harriet Ann
Harriet Ann Brown 1916 ~ 2005 H. Ann Brown passed away in her sleep early on
the morning of February 20, 2005 in Moab, Utah. Ann was born May 26, 1916 in
Salt Lake City, the only daughter of Charles Eugene Ostler and Vera Badger
Ostler. Though her humility prevented her from seeing herself as special, her
intelligence led her to achieve more than she realized. Ann obtained a high
school diploma long before it became common for a girl to do so, and continued
reading and researching areas of interest most of her life. She took a job
with Mountain States Telephone as an operator and participated in the
transition from pull-and-plug to modern switchboard operations. On April 3,
1942, in Livermore, California, she married Donald A Brown, an Air Force
junior officer she met while he was stationed in Wendover. This was the
beginning of a journey which would span much of the world and 59 years until
Don's death in 2001. During that time they raised two sons, Brint Brown (Tina)
of Moab, Utah, and Michael P Brown (Kathleen) of Sandy, Utah. Ann was preceded
in death by Don, her parents, and two brothers, Boyden B and Rodney C Ostler.
She is survived by her sons, grandson Phil Brown, granddaughter Michelle
Patterson, and great-granddaughter Jordyn Ann Patterson. As per Ann's request,
there will be no service, but we will take with us many memories. Thank you,
Mom, for everything, and say hi to Dad for us. We love you.

Burk, Kelly Ralph
Kelly Ralph Burk 1957 ~ 2005 Kelly Ralph Burk, 47 of American Fork, UT,
beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend, returned to the
loving arms of his Heavenly Father, Feb. 22, 2005 surrounded by his wife and
family. He was born November 4, 1957 to Ralph Burk and Helen Burk in Provo,
UT. He was proud of the fact that he became an Eagle Scout at the age of 13.
Kelly graduated from American Fork High School in 1976. He graduated from UVSC
with a degree in Diesel Mechanics. He was married to Jenny Croft on June 2,
1976. They had two children and later divorced. He married Janie Nordblad, the
love of his life, on August 9, 1991 in the Los Angeles Temple and had two more
children. He was a faithful member of the LDS Church. Kelly served diligently
in his church callings, working extensively in the scouting program and most
recently in the Elder's Quorum Presidency. He loved hunting, fishing, and
motorcycle racing, but his greatest love of all was the time that he could
spend with his family, children and their families. Kelly was caring,
compassionate and willing to do anything for anyone. He had a great sense of
humor and was a joy to be around. He was an extremely hard worker and was
currently employed by Comtrol, Inc. (general contractors in Sandy) as a
project manager and estimator. Kelly blessed the lives of so many and, in
turn, has been blessed with so many close and dear friends and family members
who cherish him and will keep him always close and dear to their hearts. Our
lives have been blessed and our days enriched for every moment we were able to
share with our beloved Kelly. Kelly is survived by his wife, Janie; children,
Misty Cox, Orem, Pimerton (Sarah) Burk, American Fork, Breanna Burk and Megan
Burk of American Fork; his father, Ralph (Wendy) Burk, Levan; his mother,
Helen Burk, Orem; four brothers and three sisters, Brian (Shauna) Burk,
Draper, Brent Burk, Fruit Heights, David Burk and Scott Burk, Sharon (Calie)
Zobell, Annette (Brian) Russell and Susan Burk, all of Orem, and seven
grandchildren. Preceded in death by one brother, Gary Burk and grandparents.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the
Hillcrest Chapel, 1120 North 150 West, American Fork. Friends and family may
call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Sundberg Olpin Mortuary, 495 S. State, Orem and
at the chapel one hour prior to services. Burial will follow at the American

Cable, E. Warren
E. Warren Cable He loved the U.S.A. Our beloved husband, father and
grandfather, Edward Warren Cable, passed away at home Feb. 24, 2005. He was
born February 11, 1923 to Edward and Matilda Cable. He married Fern Adams
November 30, 1946 in the Manti LDS Temple. He joined the Navy during World War
II and spent most of his tour in the South Pacific as a radar technician. He
loved The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many
positions. He spent three years in Europe as an LDS supervisor of new
construction in Epsom, England and Frankfurt, Germany. He is survived by his
loving wife, Fern Adams Cable and his children, Gregory and Linda Cable, Glen
and Shelley Cable, Dale and Stephanie Cable, Elizabeth and Bradford Harris,
Barbara and Aaron Cox; 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren, also
foster daughter, Doreen and Sheldon Lindsey. Preceded in death by two
granddaughters, his parents and three sisters. Funeral Services will be
Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Valley View Funeral Home Chapel,
4335 West 4100 South. The family will receive friends at a viewing Saturday
from 12:45 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Valley View Funeral Home. Interment: Valley
View Memorial Park.

Fausett, John Doyle
John Doyle Fausett 1926 ~ 2005 John Doyle Fausett, beloved by his family and
friends, passed away peacefully February 23, 2005. John was born December 11,
1926 in Fruitland, Utah to Louis and Lucy Bigelow Fausett. Married the love of
his life, Donna Mae Sparks in Ely, Nevada, October 12, 1947. He will always be
remembered as a proud and loving husband, father, grandfather and
great-grandfather. He was an accomplished painter, loved watching his races,
golfing, bowling and spending time with family. Retired from the United States
Navy in 1946 after serving in World War II. He worked for Cudahy Meats for 15
years, and then retired from Consolidated Freightways after 25 years. Survived
by his wife, Donna; children: Lonnie (Charlotte), Tom (Mary Ann), Gail (Gus),
Judi (Steve), Robin, Sandi (Don), Bambi (Rick) and Randy (Connie); 24
grandchildren and more than 35 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his
mother and father; brothers, Carl and Leonard; sisters: Ella, Clara and Neet;
grandson, Rodney. He was deeply loved by everyone that knew him and will
always be loved and missed. Graveside services will be held Monday, 11:00 a.m.
at Valley View Memorial Park, 4400 West 4100 South. A viewing will be held
Monday, 9-10:45 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road.

Hansen, Alice M. Larsen
Alice M. Larsen Hansen 1907 ~ 2005 MAYFIELD/GUNNISON - Alice M. Larsen Hansen,
97, of Mayfield/Gunnison, Utah, passed away February 23, 2005 at her daughter,
Joye's, home in Gunnison, Utah. She was born April 9, 1907 in Mayfield, Utah
to Hans Christian and Rebecca Estella Christiansen Larsen. She married Lester
Hansen, November 25, 1925 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in
death, October 20, 2003. Alice was an active member of the LDS Church where
she served in many callings: Relief Society President, Sunday School
Coordinator, primary teacher, chorister, long time visiting teacher and
supervisor, and Manti Temple worker for 13 years. Alice and Lester were
honored as Utah's longest married couple from 1925 to 2003. Lester and Alice
were invited to sing at many weddings, funerals and at church. Lester and
Alice resided at their daughter, Joye Hanson's, home for a number of years
until their deaths. Their presence blessed the home daily and their absence
will be greatly felt. It was a joy and a pleasure to have them in her home.
She is survived by her children, Joye A. Hanson, Gunnison; DeeAnn (Alan)
Allred, McGill, NV; 10 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 33
great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Lester;
children: Junior L. Hansen, Jewel E. Hansen, J. Kimball Hansen; brothers and
sisters: Rhoda (Dan) Harris, Wells C. (Thelma) Larsen, Delbert J. (Elda)

McMullin, Lee
Lee McMullin 1925 ~ 2005 CLEVELAND, UT-Lee McMullin passed away Feb. 24, 2005,
in the Price Hospital due to complications following surgery. He was born Jan.
21, 1925, to George Douglas and Luella Gordon McMullin in Morhland, Emery
County, Utah. He married Hazel Ruth McKee in Cleveland on Aug. 23, 1946. Later
solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on Apr. 24, 1964. Lee served in the Army
Infantry during World War II in the Pacific. He was a jack-of-all-trades and
did many things in his life. He was a barber, TV sales & repairman, heavy
equipment operator, diesel mechanic, storeowner, coal miner, stokermatic
dealer and farmer. But his most important accomplishments were with his wife
and family. He was a member of the LDS Church, the American Legion and served
on many boards in various county businesses. He is survived by his wife,
Hazel, of almost 59 years. Children: Bernice (Val) Payne, Mark (Maggie)
McMullin, Bruce (Sherrie) McMullin and Annette (Kevin) Jensen all of
Cleveland, sister Erma Lou (Duane) Jones, 17 grandchildren and 18
great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, one sister, one
grandson, one granddaughter and one great-grandson. Funeral services will be
held Monday, Feb. 28, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. in the Cleveland LDS Chapel. Family
will be at Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale for a viewing Sunday evening from
6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services. Burial in the Cleveland City
Cemetery.

Olsen, Betty Roundy
Betty Roundy Olsen "Mom - a great lady" WEST JORDAN/ELMO - Our loving mom,
grandma, great grandma, sister, aunt and friend, Betty Roundy Olsen,
peacefully passed away February 24, 2005 in West Jordan, Utah. She was born
May 29, 1929 in Scofield, Utah to Leonard and Sally Roundy. She was raised in
Spring Glen, Utah. She graduated from Carbon High School and played clarinet
in the high school band. She married John H. Olsen on June 18, 1948 and began
residing in West Jordan. Betty worked at Nick and Sam's, later to become
Michaels Food Mart for several years in West Jordan. She moved to Elmo, Utah
in 1986. She loved the outdoors, loved to fish, boat and water ski, and took
up snow skiing at the age of 50. She especially loved her family, spending
time at Scofield, was a wonderful cook and loved to shop. She was a member of
the Lily of the Valley D.U.P. camp and served as captain two years. She was a
faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and taught
primary for many years and was a faithful visiting teacher and loved all she
had the opportunity to come in contact with. Survived by one son and three
daughters, Larry R. Olsen of South Jordan, Kathy (George) Hotchkiss of Kearns,
Janice Olsen of Florida, and Linda (Cesar) Cabrales of South Jordan. 10
grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. One sister and one brother. Doreen
(Jay) Donohue of Texas, and Gary (Loretta) Roundy of Elsinore. One
sister-in-law, Mary Burnside of Kearns, and many other family members and
friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and two grandsons.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Utah Valley Regional
Center, South Valley Care Center, and Hearts for Hospice for their loving care
of our mom. Funeral services will be held Mon., February 28, 2005 at 1 p.m. at
the Elmo LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call at Fausett Mortuary in Price at 680
East 100 South Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and at the church in Elmo on
Monday from 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Interment will be in the Price City
Cemetery.

Petersen, Clay Irvin
Clay Irvin Petersen "He Taught With Love" Our beloved father, grandfather,
great-grandfather and friend, Clay Irvin Petersen, age 83, passed away due to
pneumonia on February 24, 2005 in Salt Lake City. Born March 23, 1921 in
LaSal, Utah to Delbert and Ethel Day Petersen. Married Bertha Larson on April
27, 1942 in the Manti Temple. She preceded him in death. He lead a life of
service to his community, church and family. He taught over four decades in
the public schools of Utah. Every year he volunteered his time before or after
school to teach the students music. His love for his students was always
reciprocated. In his church he served as bishop, high councilor, counselor in
two stake Presidencies and the last 20 years as stake patriarch. He and his
wife were temple workers for 10 years in the Jordan River Temple. Until his
last illness he volunteered his time to teach a choir at a local retirement
home. He was selected by his peers as the "Teacher of the Year" for both the
Granite School District and the state of Utah. In 2004 he received the Alumni
Distinguished Service Award from Brigham Young University. He was loved and
adored by his family, extended family, and anyone who had the good fortune to
know him. Survived by children: Clay (Charllot), Sue (Bill) Guest, Ann (Scott)
Stewart; foster daughter, Ruth (Jerry) Gordon; 20 grandchildren, 13 great
grandchildren; brothers: Delbert and Dale (Lora). Funeral services will be
Monday, Feb. 28, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Taylorsville North Central Stake
Center, 3120 W. 4700 S. A viewing will be Sun. from 6-8 p.m. at McDougal
Funeral Home, 4330 S. Redwood Rd and at church Mon. from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.

Peterson, Freddie LeRoy
Freddie LeRoy Peterson 1931 ~2005 MAGNA- On February 23, 2005 our hearts were
broken when our loving husband, father and friend was called home to his
Heavenly Father. Fred was born July 13, 1931 as the only child of Arthur LeRoy
and Georgia Grace Mower Peterson. He married the love of his life, Doris Jane
Poulsen in Copperton, Utah Jan. 18, 1951. Later solemnized in the Salt Lake
Temple. Fred retired from Kennecott Copper Corp. after serving over 38 years
of dedicated service. His loves were hunting, fishing and camping in the
mountains above Fairview. His fondest memories is spending time in the
mountains with his family and going on trips to Disneyland. Most of all the
light of his life were his grandchildren. Fred is survived by his wife,
children, Leslie (Jesse) Lavado, Scott Peterson, Lori Peterson, Julie (Ben)
Tucker, Lynette Gardner, 11 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by his parents Lorin and Grace Beck. Funeral services will
be 12 noon Monday, Feb. 28, 2005 at the Spencer 2nd Ward, 8181 W. 3320 S.,
Magna. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005 at Peel Funeral Home,
8525 W. 2700 S., Magna and 11-11:45 a.m. at the church prior to services.

Maximo R. Ramos 1939 ~ 2005 Maximo Ramon LoSantos Ramos passed away February
23, 2005 at his home in Salt Lake City. He was born October 21, 1939 in
Camabuy, Cuba to Jose Maria Ramos and Fermina LoSantos Ramos. He was married

Robbins, Addison
Addison Robbins 2/9/05 ~ 2/23/05 Addison Robbins returned to her Heavenly
Father on February 23, 2005 after two precious weeks of life. Addison was born
February 9, 2005 in Mesa, Arizona to William and Melinda Robbins. Addi was
able to come home with her parents on February 17th and spent seven wonderful
days with them there. Weighing only one pound, fourteen ounces, this tiny girl
has a strong spirit and blessed the lives of all she met. Her parents and
grandparents were able to hold her around the clock while she was at home and
cherished every moment they had with her. Addi is survived by her parents,
William Robbins and Melinda Swenson-Robbins of Glendale, Arizona; her
grandparents Michael and Nancy Swenson of Spanish Fork, and Charles and
Kathleen Robbins of Salt Lake City; her great-grandparents Laura Bingham and
Paul and Nedra Swenson of Spanish Fork, and Gordon and Afton Miner of Provo,
and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Her parents were blessed with her life
and will love and adore her forever. They look forward to the day they will be
with her again. Service Sat. 1 p.m. at Spanish Fork South Stake Center 1240 So
1150 E.

Russell, Veda Jewel Peay
Veda Jewel Peay Russell 1925 ~ 2005 Veda Jewel Peay Russell, age 79, passed
away February 23, 2005 in West Valley City, Utah. Veda was born September 10,
1925 in American Fork to Grace and William Peay. She married William M.
Russell on March 7, 1953 in American Fork. A special wife, mother,
grandmother, sister and friend. She devoted her life to her husband and
family. We will miss seeing her out working in her yard and tending her roses.
The family wishes to express its deepest appreciation to the wonderful people
at the Rocky Mountain Care Center in West Valley, who were so caring and
concerned for her the last several months. You fought so hard to stay with us,
but we know you are in a better place without pain and watching over us. We
love and miss you. Veda is survived by her daughter, Jean (Roy) Dalton and
son, Randall (Michelle) Russell; sisters, Lucille Evans, Wilma (Loyd)
Armitstead and Adline Peay; grandchildren, Pam (Allen) Anderson, Valerie
Dalton, Diane Russell and Cindy Russell. She is preceded in death by her
parents and husband. A viewing will be held Mon., February 28, 2005 at 10:30
a.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 So., with open time at 11:00
a.m. Immediately after the open time, the family will proceed to the Tooele
City Cemetery for Interment.

Schimmelpfennig, Dale
Dale Schimmelpfennig 1921 ~ 2005 PLEASANT VIEW - Everybody who knew Dale
Schimmelpfennig loved him. He always thought of others first and gave from his
heart. Dale was born June 18, 1921 in Sigourney, Iowa. His parents were George
and Pauline Schimmelpfennig. Dale served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World
War II. He attended Seattle University and earned his Masters Degree at Utah
State University. He was Finance Director of Cache County School District and
Weber School District. He also worked for Ellerbe's Architectural Firm in
Minnesota and the Utah State Board of Education. Dale married Dorothy Jenson
in Logan in 1949 and they were sealed in the LDS Logan Temple. They reared
their sons in Logan and Bountiful and were presently living in Pleasant View,
Utah. Dale died suddenly at home on February 24, 2005. He is survived by his
wife, Dorothy; sons Howard, Scott and Glen, seven grandchildren and nine
great-grand-children. Family and friends may call at Myers Mortuary on Monday

Shepherd, Robert L. "Bob"
Robert "Bob" L. Shepherd Shep" Bob Shepherd 70, our loving husband, dad,
grandpa, great grandpa, and friend left this green earth after a long battle
with several illnesses. Bob was born on August 10, 1934 in Barnesville, Ohio,
the son of Mack and Lucille Shepherd (deceased). Bob married the love of his
life and kindred spirit Josephine (Dodie) Tomsich on August 27, 1955 in
Dragerton, UT. He served proudly in the United States Army during the Korean
conflict in Panama, South America. He was a lifetime member of DAV, American
Legion Post 613 Dayton Ohio. Retired after 20 years from Kennecott Copper Corp
as a Master Electrician and Instrumentation. He also held his masters and
contractor licenses in several western states. He loved the great outdoors and
all the times he spent with his family and friends, boating, fishing, and
hunting. His other passions included the Chicago Cubbies, all other major
sports and his daily tribune crossword puzzle. His family and friends could
always find him by looking in the direction of his infectious laugh. Survived
by his devoted wife of 49 1/2 years Dodie; sister Marge (Buggs) Bakosh of West
Carrollton, OH; brother Bill (Evelynn) Shepherd of Shadyside, OH; children
Randy (Lisa) Shepherd of Bountiful; Kelly Jo (Lee) Whittaker of West
Bountiful; Bob (Cindy) Shepherd of West Bountiful; grandchildren, Joshua,
Cassie (Arron), Robbie, Jessica, Ryan; and great-grandchild Kayden who all
loved and respected him dearly. Also survived by his sisters and brother
in-laws as well as many nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Gwen Mitchell,
his home health nurse and the entire staff and administration at the VA
hospital who went out of their way in every aspect in taking care of Bob the
last several months. "Though your mind was still strong, your body just
couldn't keep up. We share the tears of joy and sorrow that you are now
finally at rest. We will forever love and miss you on your new journey, and
hope that you will still sucker them in on that inside straight, because to us
we think you are that once in a lifetime royal flush". Memorial services will
be held 11 a.m. Tuesday March 1, 2005 at Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary, 727
N. 400 E. where friends may call 9:45 - 10:45 a.m. prior to services.
Interment, Bountiful City Cemetery. Cremation under the direction of
