Amodt Sr., Lawrence
Lawrence (Larry) William Amodt Sr., age 85, passed away July 11, 2005 after a
valiant struggle with Alzheimers Disease. Married Norma Day September 8, 1947.
Graduated from South High School in Salt Lake City, retired from Eimco after
35 years of service, avid fisherman, life member DAV, active in community
service, served in the Army in the Pacific Theater of World War II. Liked by
all who knew him, loving father and grandfather. Survived by his loving wife
Norma Amodt, children Leatrice (Tom) McBroon, Larry, Louis (Janet), and Robert
Amodt. 21 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, one niece and one nephew.
Preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. Family is grateful to
Veteran's HBPC and the loving care at Orchard Cove. Grave side service and
interment at Salt Lake City Cemetery (Cedar and 11th East) at 1:30 p.m.,
Friday, July 15. Viewing Thursday July 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. and noon to 1 p.m.
prior to service on Friday at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple. In lieu
of flowers, donations requested to the Alzheimer's Association.

Bridge, Marie Dietz
Marie Dietz Bridge 1912 ~ 2005 Marie Dietz Bridge was finally called home on
July 9, 2005. She was born to Conrad Karl Dietz and Augusta Mhros Dietz on
February 28, 1912, along with her twin sister, Martha. She married J. Kenneth
Bridge on November 10, 1933. This union was later sealed in the Salt Lake
Temple. Marie and Ken were the parents of five children: Mary Jo (Hal)
Humpherys, Tucson, AZ; James Kenneth (Carla), Taylorsville, UT; David (Kathy),
Murray, UT; Joseph William (Jane), West Jordan, UT; and Robert Alan (Eileen),
Greensboro, NC. Perseverance and hard work were the hallmarks of Marie's life.
She learned the value of hard work and reliability from her mother, and she,
in turn, passed these values on to her children. After Ken's untimely death,
Marie was faced with the task of keeping the family together, and making it
possible for each of her children to complete their education and continue
with their lives. Her life was a life of service to others, especially her
family. To know her was to love her; she was truly a person "without guile,"
and will be greatly missed. Marie is the last survivor of her generation, and
has anxiously anticipated reuniting with Ken and those who have passed on
before her. Her children, 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren survive
her. The family would like to extend special thanks to Marilyn Leishman for
her tender loving care during Mom's final weeks and months. Funeral services
will be held Fri., July 15th, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E.
South Temple. Friends and family may call on Thurs., July 14th, from 6-8 p.m.
and one hour prior to services on Friday. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.

Castiglione, Paola Blunda
Paola Blunda Castiglione "La Nonna" Paola Blunda Castiglione, age 79, passed
away July 11, 2005 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Paola was born August 3, 1925 in
Italy to Franco Castiglione and Maria Carucci. She married Nicola Blunda,
September, 1947 in Sicily, Italy. She was a member of the LDS Church. She is
survived by her loving children; daughter, Sara Blunda Decker and son, Franco
Blunda; 10 grandchildren, Antonella, Lina, Paola, Lorena, Jennifer, Heidi,
Yesika, Jesus, Elypaola and Rosmar; seven great-grandchildren, Rafael, Nicole,
Steve, Isabella, Luigi, Carlos Daniel and Anabella; daughter-in-law, Monzet
and Lucia. She was preceded in death by her son, Jose in 1982 and husband,
Nicola in 1994. Visitation Services will be held Thursday, July 14, 2005 from
6 until 9 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South. Interment:
Cabudare, Venezuela. A special thanks to the staff on the 6th floor at the
University of Utah Hospital for all of your care. In lieu of flowers,
donations would be appreciated for the family to help with funeral expenses at

Cole, Lucy G.
Lucy G. Cole 1911 ~ 2005 SPRINGVILLE, UTAH- Lucy G. Cole, 94, passed away of
causes incident to age on Sunday, July 10, 2005 in Springville. She was born
July 4, 1911 in Logan, Utah a daughter of Willard and Rebecca Viola Hale
Gardner, the third of seven children. She married Larry Snow Cole on September
26, 1929 in Farmington, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan
LDS Temple. He died on April 27, 1994. She was an avid bridge player, enjoyed
many arts and craft hobbies, and was active in many social and service
organizations, including USU Faculty Wives, PTA, Kiwaniannes, and especially
the hospital volunteer auxiliary, having started the hospital gift shop at the
old Logan Hospital, which was originally a gift cart built by Larry, and which
she helped manage for 14 years. She is survived by a daughter, Marjorie and
Wilford Gardner, Mapleton; a son, Richard Cole, Redmond, WA; seven
grandchildren, 17 great- grandchildren, four great-great- grandchildren,
brothers, Walter H. Gardner, John H. and Olga Gardner, Willard H. and DeAnn
Gardner; a sister, Relda G. and Frank Bringhurst. She was preceded in death by
her brothers, Nathan H. and Alma H. Gardner and their wives, sister-in-law,
Barbara Brown Gardner (Walter). Graveside services will be held Thursday, July
14, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in the Logan City Cemetery. Friends may call at the
Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center, Logan, Thursday from 12:00 - 1:30 p.m. In

Davis, Douglas Lynn
Douglas Lynn Davis 1935 ~ 2005 ST. GEORGE, Utah - Douglas Lynn Davis, age 70,
passed away Monday, July 4, 2005, at Dixie Regional Memorial Hospital in St.
George. He was the first child born to Lynn and Gwen Cooper Davis on May 27,
1935, in Panguitch, Utah. Doug served in the U.S. Army. He attended the
University of Utah and Barber College. Doug lived in the warmer climate of
California for most of his life, but for the past 30 years he has resided in
St. George. He was an avid golfer and was an active member of the Al-Anon
Chapter in St. George. He is survived by his: brother, Grant, of Washington,
UT; sisters, Barbara, of Las Vegas, NV; and Betty, of Salt Lake City, UT; and
many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his
parents, brother, Kenneth, and grandparents. Funeral services were held
Thursday, July 7, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. at the Spilsbury Mortuary Chapel, 110 S.
Bluff St., with a visitation from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., prior to services, at
the Mortuary. Interment was at the Panguitch City Cemetery. Arrangements were

Demetropolis, Gregory James
Gregory James Demetropolis Our Blue-Ribbon Cowboy Our gift from Heavenly
Father returned home July 11, 2005. He was born April 6, 1991 in Salt Lake
City to George James and Stephanie Hansen Demetropolis. Greg loved fishing
with his dad, games (especially winning his grandma), movies and teasing his
sisters. He loved being a cowboy, riding horses and going to the cabin. His
little giggle was infectious. He loved everyone unconditionally and taught us
all to do the same - he was the teacher. He is survived by his parents;
special sisters, Harleyanne and April; grandparents, Duane and Harley Hansen
and Jim and Athena Demetropolis; many aunts, uncles and cousins; special
friends, Lindsay Kerr, Lindsay Baker, Mike and Jessey. He will be missed by
all who knew him. Greg was preceded in death by his great-grandparents.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 15th, 2 p.m. at the Bluffdale 10th
Ward, 15175 S. Mountainside Dr. (2400 W.). A viewing will be held two hours
prior to services. The family would like to thank all those special people in
Greg's life that helped him accomplish those things he loved to do most. Greg,

Fillmore, Clint L.
Clint L. Fillmore 1958 ~ 2005 With wife and family by his side, Clint, 47,
passed away July 10, 2005 after a five year courageous and valiant battle with
liver disease. Born June 18, 1958 to David L Fillmore and Connie Perez in
Price, Ut. Married Susan Wood July 17, 1998. Survived by his wife, Susan; step
children, Candace Allen, Joshua (Kiana) Allen; five grandchildren; father,
David (Ann) Fillmore; sister-in-law, Vicki; sisters, Kay, Michele, Darcy,
Doreen, Carol and Rachell; brothers, Curtis, Kelly and Brad; many nieces,
nephews and good friends. Preceded in death by his mother, Connie Baxter;
Fillmore grandparents. A celebration of his life will be held Thursday, July
14th, at 2320 So. Jordan River Park (10th West) at 2 p.m., where friends and
family are welcome to bring a favorite dish and story to share. The family
wishes to thank the staff at Hospice Care Source, where Clint's passing was as
loving and peaceful as he was.

Francyk M.D., William Peter
William Peter Francyk, M.D. 1939 ~ 2005 Prominent Board Certified, Invasive
Radiologist, Dr. William Peter Francyk passed away July 11, 2005 after a long,
progressive illness. Born in Brooklyn, New York June 26, 1939. He was the only
son of Rose and Martin Francyk. Education included graduation from Valley
Stream Central High School, Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, and the
State University of New York Medical School, downstate. After interning at the
University of Utah, Salt Lake City he pursued his Radiology residency at the
University of Wisconsin, Madison. Two years Naval service followed. Bill then
returned with his wife and children to Salt Lake City where he instigated the
angiography program at LDS Hospital. His extracurricular interests included
skiing, competitive sports, spending time dabbling in the stock market, and
world-wide travel. His greatest pride and joys were his children: Tara, Peter,
and David, and his knowledge that he was an excellent radiologist who made a
positive change in so many of his patient's lives. He leaves behind his
children Tara (Bret Wells), Peter (Sunni), and David (Jennifer),
grandchildren: Emily Wells, Julian Moon, Braedon Francyk, and his life time
friend and ex-wife, Joan. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, July 13,
2005, 3:00 p.m. at the Park City Cemetery and will be officiated by Reverend
Paddy Wood. The family asked that all those who knew Bill celebrate his life
in their own special way.

Hardy, Janice Elaine
Janice Elaine Hardy 1938 ~ 2005 MAGNA- Janice Elaine Hardy passed away July
11, 2005 from leukemia. She was born September 6, 1938 in Windell, Idaho to
Lynn Eugene and Elsie Mae Kissler Hardy. She worked for the Utah State Tax
Commission and retired after 39 years of service. Elaine had a very strong
testimony and deep love of her Heavenly Father. She will be missed by all who
knew her. Elaine is survived by her brothers, Eugene (Heidi), Dennis (Sherry),
sister, Cathy (Glen) Hansen, seven nephews, one niece, and many great nieces
and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Larry Evan
Hardy. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2005 at the Elk Run
Chapel, 3084 South 8400 West, Magna. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July
10, 2005 at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 West 2700 South, Magna and 12-12:45 p.m.
at the church prior to services. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.

Johnston, Warren W. "Papa"
Warren W. Johnston "Papa" 1921 ~ 2005 Warren W. Johnston, 84 years old, died
on July 11, 2005 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born on March 11, 1921 in
Bureau, Illinois to Alice Mae Glover and William A. Johnston. He married
Margaret Havener on June 16, 1942. Warren served honorably in the U.S. Army
during World War II. He graduated from the University of Illinois in 1948. He
enjoyed a long, productive career in Technical Management and Development.
President of Biologics, Inc., manager at Kaman Sciences, both in Salt Lake
City. Warren loved reading, writing and spending time with his family. He is
survived by his son, Kevin (De Ann) Johnston, daughter, Becky (Bruce)
Garfield; four grandchildren, Anthony, Amanda, Jennie, Aaron and three
great-grandchildren. There are no scheduled services. In memoriam, the family
suggests donations to the American Liver Foundation or the Salt Lake City
Humane Society. Interment will take place in Roberts, Illinois at a later

Afton Ronneburg Leonard Together Again Our beloved mother, grandmother,
great-grandmother and friend passed away quietly July 11, 2005, five days
after her best friend and husband, John. She was born July 18, 1916 in Salt
Lake City to John and Ethel Pearl Roberts Ronneburg. She married John D.
Leonard, February 14, 1959. Afton enjoyed crocheting, gardening her roses, and
cooking for her family and friends. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother
and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Survived by her children,
Dolores (Fergus) Thompsen, Beverly (Max) Sorensen, Peggy Lynn (Jerry) Polson,
Delbert (Linda) Jensen, Larry (Claire) Jensen, Kent (Wendy) Jensen; many
grand, great, and great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband,
John and her brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held Thursday,
July 14th, 2:00 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 S. Redwood Road. A

Cameron Phillip Joel Lukenbach "Our Missionary From Heaven" Cameron Phillip
Joel Lukenbach was born, and returned to his Heavenly Father July 8, 2005 in
Salt Lake City. Cameron was born to Richard A. and Robin K. Lukenbach. He is
survived by his loving parents; sister, Krystal; brothers; Steven, Duane,
Aaron and Benjamin; grandparents, Fred (Kay) Baney, Richard (Shirlee)
Lukenbach, Helen Harrison and Shalto (Mona) Baney. He is preceded in death by
his sister, Sariah; grandparents, Ruth and Russell Craft; uncle, Robert;
grandparents, Leonard and Mary Lukenbach; grandfather, Edward; grandmother,
Bertha and cousin, Jennifer. Graveside Services will be Thursday, July 14,
2005 at 12:00 noon at Valley View Memorial Park, 4400 West 4100 South. The
family will receive friends at a visitation Thursday from 10:45-11:45 a.m. at

Mathews, Mary Olivia
Mary Olivia Mathews 1928 ~ 2005 Mary Olivia Mathews passed away on July 9,
2005. She was born on March 16, 1928 in Lander, WY. She lived in various towns
in Nevada, Wyoming, and Idaho. She eloped to Ely, NV with her sweetheart, pal,
and partner Donald on Jan. 16, 1948; they were later sealed for all eternity
April 11, 1958. She retired from Beehive Clothing in 1990. She was also a
loyal employee of Albertson's, JC Penney's, Dec's, and the U of U Huddle. She
was a dedicated servant of her Heavenly Father in numerous positions for the
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her smile and contagious
conversation will always be in our hearts. She now joins her parents, two
brothers and one sister, and will be holding her baby Craig for the first
time. She is leaving behind her loving husband, Donald; her children, John
(Carolyn)Taylorsville, Don (Linda) of South Jordan, Duane of Taylorsville,
Greg (Melanie) of Henderson, NV, Mary Jane of West Valley City; 24
grandchildren, 25 great-grand children, three great-great grandchildren, one
brother, and six sisters. The family wishes to express our deepest gratitude
to the Christus St. Joseph Villa for their loving care and compassion in her
last days. Funeral services will be held 12 noon on Wed., July 13, 2005 at the
Copperhill Fourth Ward Chapel, 4333 South 6400 West with a viewing from 10:30

Oakeson, Maxine Melissa Mackay
Maxine Melissa Mackay Oakeson Mom, Grandma, and Great-Grandma Maxine M. Mackay
Oakeson passed away July 10, 2005 of natural causes. She was born Nov. 12,
1919 in Taylorsville, Utah to Leonard and Wilma A. Mackay. Married Donald Lee
Oakeson on Jan. 24, 1938 in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were sealed in the Salt
Lake Temple in 1962. This brought great comfort to mother to have her family
sealed together forever. Mother led a simple life, she cooked, she cleaned,
sewed and made sure the household ran smoothly. She loved flowers, gardening
and beautifying her home, inside and out. She devoted her entire life to her
children, grandchildren and great-grand-children. She loved and spoiled us all
with a mother's love and wanted the best for each of us. She was never too
busy to tend our kids, listen to our problems or hear our joys. She left a
great example for each of us to follow. Nothing is more important than family.
Mother loved to take her family on vacations, which were usually to Jackson
Hole and Yellowstone. Her children all have fond memories of packing up the
car and heading out early in the morning for "our trip". We remember "counting
the bears" and all the wildlife we would see. These are wonderful memories we
each carry. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren love her with
all there is and will miss her every day until we meet again. We will all miss
chatting and laughing with her, our shopping sprees, and her always there for
us each and every day. We know that there was a joyous reunion with her
parents, brother and sisters who she dearly loved and missed. We know she is
especially happy now with daddy and Ned and Boyce, and they will finally get
all the attention and love that we have enjoyed all these years. Mom, please
know how much we all love you and appreciate all you did for us. We all know
that we will see you again someday. Our family would like to thank mom's South
Jordan Ward, her Bishopric and especially her devoted Home and Visiting
Teachers. They showed her true charity for many years. She loved and
appreciated you very much. Survived by her children, Ken and Gwen Oakeson,
Brigham City; Larry and Diane Oakeson, Herriman; Donna and Joy Moulton, Janice
and Russ Crump both of West Jordan and Merlene Crowton of Riverton; 21
grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren with two more soon to join us;
brother Stan (Loy) Mackay, Murray; sisters, Joyce (John) Owens; Barbara
Mackay, and June (Wally) Naylor all of Salt Lake City. Preceded in death by
parents, husband, sisters Ruth and Phyllis and brother Keith Mackay; son Ned
Mackay Oakeson, grandson Boyce Oakeson. Funeral Services will be held Friday,
July 15, 2005, 11 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley 1007 W. South Jordan
Pkwy. (10550 So.) where family and friends may call Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and
Friday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Interment South Jordan City Cemetery.

Phelps, Joey B.
Joey B Phelps Dad and Grandpa We will miss you dearly Our beloved Dad and
Grandpa, Joey passed away suddenly on July 10, 2005. We are heartbroken
knowing he is gone but he went to be with his love, Ann, who passed away two
years ago. We know he is happy to be back with "Love" holding her and giving
her lots of kisses and knowing he will have her forever now. Joey was born on
Jan. 1, 1924 to Fred Lee and Eva Phelps in Murray, UT. He graduated from
Murray High. He served in Italy during World War II, fighting and protecting
his country. He then came home and married his "Love", Ann in 1945 and started
their lives together. Joey became a meat cutter, a job he loved and he had his
own Butcher Block Store. He also worked for Miers Meat in Holladay for over 25
years where he was loved dearly by everyone who worked with him and all of his
customers because he always greeted them with a smile. He finished his working
career at Schneider Bros. Meats and The Store. He was hardworking and very
dedicated to his job. Joey is survived by his brother Jack, sister Thelma, and
his two sons, Joey and Jeff who he loved very much, daughter-in-law, Gayle who
he loved like his own and his five grandkids, Joe, Melissa, Ryan, Nick
(Bonnie) and Mandy. He cherished them very much. He also has three
great-grand-children, little Star, Coley, and Beth, who were his little
angels. Graveside services will be held Friday, July 15, 2005 at 12 noon,
Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South, in Sandy. A visitation will be
held Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the services. Our
hearts are sad and empty with him gone but we know he is with his "Love" and
we know he is looking down on us, watching over us forever because he knows we
love him very much.

Porter, Virginia L.
Virginia L. Porter 1/23/1923~7/8/2005 Virginia L. Porter, 82, passed away in
Las Vegas, Nevada, July 8, 2005. Virginia was born and raised in Salt Lake
City, Utah and graduated from the University of Utah. Virginia began her
career in personnel management and human resources at Alleganey College in
Pennsylvania. She later relocated to Salt Lake City to assume the position of
personnel director of the Paris Company until the business was sold. Virginia
retired from the Human Resources Department the University of Utah. Miss
Porter is survived by her nephew Bob Porter and his wife Georgene of Las
Vegas, Nevada. A graveside service is scheduled for Friday, July 15, 2005 at
12:00 noon at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation for friends and family one
hour prior to services at Evans & Early Mortuary, 574 East 100 South, Salt
Lake City.

Shirley, William O.
William O. Shirley "Bill" William O. (Bill) Shirley, 75, passed away
peacefully at his home July11, 2005 after a year-long battle with cancer. Bill
was born July 1, 1930 to William and Violet Shirley in Owensboro, KY. He
enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1946 and later enlisted in the USAF in 1950.
He retired as a photographer from the military in February 1973, settling in
Utah. He continued his photographic career working for Hill AFB until retiring
from civil service. Bill married his first wife Keiko Fukuma in December, 1956
and they had six children. They later divorced and he married his current wife
Trudy McStotts in June, 2003. Bill enjoyed golfing, fishing, camping, bowling,
coaching his children's sports teams, and traveling. Later in life he also
enjoyed playing bingo, watching his children and grandchildren playing sports,
and was an avid Utah Jazz fan. He enjoyed beauty, nature, his family and
friends. He was quick to offer a hand when needed and made friends easily.
Bill is survived by all six of his children: Mrs. Jay (Vera) Lewis - Colorado;
Richard Shirley, Mrs. Dean (Jeanne) Hamblin, Mrs. William (Linda) Bell, David
Shirley and Robert Shirley - Utah; 11 grandchildren and 10
great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his three sisters: Mrs. Harlan (Alba)
Altman - Indiana, Mrs. George (Josephine) Knoop and Mrs. James (Beverly)
Keating - both Kentucky. He had numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded
in death by both parents. Friends may call at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007

family wishes to express their deepest gratitude and thanks to Frank and Linda
Diana, Robin Harward, Russell Blatnick, Leslie Marsh, the staff of Vista Care
and all our wonderful friends for their friendship, support and generosity
during Bill's extended illness. Husband, father, grandfather, uncle, friend -

Smith, William A.
William A. Smith 1924 ~ 2005 William A. Smith, 81, passed away on July 9,
2005, in Salt Lake City. He was born on May 14, 1924 in Moorestown, NJ to
William C. Smith and Lucy Hampton. He married Renee Baker. He is survived by
his lovely wife, children William H. (Dawn), Bruce C. (Shawna) and Jone
Newberger (Kurt), Sister; Doris McCabe and five grandchildren. Preceded in
death by Parents. Private family services will be held at Camp Williams
Cemetery.

Williams, Kenneth Marlin
Kenneth Marlin Williams 1916 ~ 2005 Kenneth Marlin Williams passed away
peacefully July 11, 2005. He was born July 30, 1916 in Rexburg, Idaho to
Kenneth H. and Erma Blain Williams. His family moved to Spring City the same
year where he enjoyed his childhood. He had a love for all animals with a
special love of horses. He also gained a special love of classical music from
listening to the old records on the gramophone. He moved to Salt Lake City
where he attended Riverton and Roosevelt Jr. High School. He graduated from
East High School in 1933. He excelled in swimming and was on the swim team. He
loved singing and sang in the Choir. He had a love for literature and reading
scriptures and good books. He spent many hours reading at the library. He
loved history and theology. Kenneth attended the University of Utah for two
years He was always active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He was ordained a Deacon July 1928. He served as president of the Deacons and
Teachers quorum. He has served in leadership and teaching positions his entire
life. He served in the British Mission from 1936 to 1938. He had a special
assignment by Joseph J. Cannon to sell subscriptions to the Millennial Star.
He also spent several nights each week conducting street meeting in Hyde Park.
After his full time mission Kenneth helped organize the Millennial Choir and
served as a missionary at Temple Square for five years. He was a set apart
missionary for over eighteen years. Holds the office of High Priest and has
served in many positions including Teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, MIA
President, Counselor in Bishopric, Scoutmaster, Explorer Leader, Aaronic
Priesthood Leader, Group Leader, Aaronic Priesthood General Board. He married
Eris Merlene Sorenson on October 9, 1941. They raised five sons and one
daughter. Together they were always involved with The Boy scouts of America.
Kenneth earned his eagle scout as a teenager and has served most of his adult
life in scouting leadership. His wife has served by his side and has served
many years with Cub Scout leadership. Many young men enjoyed trips into the
High Uintah Mountains because of his leadership. Kenneth received the Silver
Beaver award and Eris was awarded the Silver Fawn. All five of his sons earned
the rank of Eagle Scout. He had the opportunity to participate in the 1937
World Scout Jamboree in Holland. He served in the U S Navy from 1944 to 1946
and was assigned to Radio Intelligence at Oahu, Hawaii. He received a
Presidential Citation from President Harry S. Truman for his contribution with
intelligence. He lived in the Fort Union Area from 1946 to 1959. Where his
family enjoyed country living, gardening, and horses. In 1959 moved his family
to Woodland, Utah. They resided there for 14 years. He wanted his children to
have the opportunity to learn to work. He and Eris lived in Genola for one
year, then in 1979 located in Springdale for almost 25 years. He and his wife
served two consecutive missions to The Lake Butler area in the Florida,
Tallahassee mission. They served as special stake missionaries in Springdale
and had a special program for tourists who were visiting Zions Canyon. They
were also Temple Workers in the Saint George Temple. In 1995 they located in
Saint George and later moved to Salt Lake in 2000. He was employed by Williams
Building Supply as general manager a family owned corporation. He owned and
operated a ranch and dairy at Woodland, Utah, Worked for Dixie College and
Springdale City. Civic service includes Springdale town board member,
President of Woodland Water Works, served on drafting committee representing
Summit Counting on the Central Utah Water Commission, served with the
Sugarhouse Lions Club and Midvale Lions club. He is survived by his wife Eris
Williams, his brother, Vaun J. Williams Salt Lake City; his sons, Richard
Williams, Lagoon Hills, CA; Glen Williams, Lyman, Wyoming; Glade Williams,
Salt Lake City; Blain Williams, Mountain View, Wyoming; and a daughter Merlene
(Kelly) Nelson, Ogden, Utah; 29 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren. He
was preceded in death by: his eldest son, Kenneth David and daughter-in-law
LuAnna, his sisters, Marjorie (Jon D.) Robbins, Carol (Duke) Frazier, and a
granddaughter Laurie Williams. He will be missed by all who know him. For
friends like words are lost and found and in passing do not altogether
disappear but leave an imprint in the heart. He left in peace, and was excited
about facing a new beginning. The family would like to extend special thanks
to Kathy Sieverts and all the care givers from Inspiration Hospice and
Hillside Rehabilitation Care Facility. Funeral services will be held on
Friday, July 15, 2005 at 12 noon at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland
Drive. The family will receive friends and family from 10 to 12 prior to the
service. Interment will follow at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.

Wilson, McKay
McKay Wilson 8/09/1922 ~ 7/11/2005 McKay Wilson found peace on July 11, 2005
after a brief battle with esophageal cancer in Salt Lake City. Born August 9,
1922 in Richfield, Utah, second son of Heber C. and Laura E. Ogden Wilson;
preceded in death by both parents, sister Emma Lou Wilson, brother Chase
Wilson and sister Anna Wilson Nagy. McKay graduated from Richfield High School
in 1942 and moved to Ogden, Utah to attend the Weber State Junior College. He
left Weber State to help with the war effort and went to work for the Naval
Supply Depot in Clearfield, UT where he was employed until 1960. He moved to
Salt Lake in 1952 to be close to his Mother and Father who had moved there.
When the Naval Supply Depot closed in 1960, he attended school again
graduating as an Electronics Technician and went to work for Western Electric
Co. in 1961 and retired from there in November 1983. McKay loved yard and
garden work and continued to work at that until 2002. He was a member of the
LDS Church, doing all he was asked and serving at anytime he was called on,
within the Church as well as to his many friends. He was always there to help
and give assistance. McKay had a sweet and kind nature that he exuded without
many words. As he worked in the yard and gardens of his many friends, children
in the neighborhood would follow him around and he taught them from the many
talents that he possessed. He truly practiced the admonition of the Savior to
"consider the little children". He was never to busy to listen. He had great
integrity and was honest in everything he did. We never knew him to argue over
a bill or a charge, he simply paid them. McKay is survived by a brother Max E.
(Helen) Wilson, Mesa, AZ, sister-in-law Jean Wilson, Rupert, ID,
brother-in-law Ernie Nagy, Layton, UT, and many loving nieces and nephews.
McKay had a host of friends who loved him dearly and he will be missed
greatly. The family would also like to extend our deepest appreciation for the
assistance, kindness, and consideration to the Garden Terrace staff and
Inspiration Hospice staff during Mckay's stay with them. We would also like to
acknowledge the wonderful care and friendship that McKay's doctor, Dr John
Luras and his staff always gave him. He said that McKay always "made his day"
when he would see him. Their kindness will always be remembered. Funeral
services will be held on Friday, July 15, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at the Murray 33rd
Ward, Green Oaks Chapel, 932 W. Green Oaks Drive. Friends and family may call
from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State Street and
Friday from 12:00-12:45 p.m. at the church prior to services. Interment
Elysian Burial Gardens.

Wolt, Peggy Jean Barngrover
Peggy Jean Barngrover Wolt 1952 ~ 2005 Peggy Jean (Barngrover) Wolt, 53, is in
awe and wonder at all she could "only imagine" heaven would be like. Peggy was
born on January 4, 1952 to Donald and Marion Barngrover of Worland, Wyoming.
In 1975 she married Terril Wolt. She graduated from Rocky Mountain College in
Billings, MT and enrolled in Medical school at the University of Utah. She
decided to give up medical school and got her second BS in Medical Technology.
She worked at Alta View Hospital for 20 + years. Brought up Methodist she also
loved her church family at the Nazarene church. She loved music (especially
the French horn), God's wonderful creation in outdoor activities, and
committed herself to home schooling her two sons through high school, "in the
way they should go". "I wouldn't trade places with anybody," she used to say.
She is survived by her husband Terril, sons Ryan and Phillip and Mother Marion
Black and step dad Bob Black of Worland, WY, brother Jim Barngrover (Angela)
of Helena, MT, sister Alice (Randy) McAbee of Coppell, TX, stepsister Leslie
Kim Black and stepbrother Steve Black both of Denver, CO, mother-in-law Mary
Wolt of Chico, CA, brother-in-laws Ed (Linda) Wolt of Sandy, UT and Gary
(Jeri) Wolt of Durango, CO; sister-in-law Barbara Wolt of Chico, CA; nieces
Amanda Larson, Sarah McAbee, Wendy Patterson, nephews, Brook Barngrover, James
McAbee, Scott Wolt, Jon Wolt, Michael Wolt, Peter Wolt. She was preceded in
death by her father Donald Barngover and infant brother Dwight Edward and her
father-in-law Emil Wolt. Services will be held on Thursday July 14, 2005 at 11
a.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene, 1760 S. Freemont Drive (2375 W. 1760
S.), Salt Lake City, Utah
