Alder, Diane Elise
Diane Elise Alder 1940 ~ 2005 Our sister, aunt, and friend, "Dee" left this
world June 4, 2005 and is now free from sickness, sorrow, and struggle. While
living she found enjoyment in simple things - the color yellow, flowers, her
cat, Libby, great music, her dog, Missy, and a good game of Scrabble. She
willingly joins her grandparents, parents, brother, and niece in Celestial
glory - a reunion she has anticipated for years. She leaves behind her
brothers, David (Celie) and Alfred (Joyce); her sister, Linda Ingles; and a
handful of nieces and nephews. Thank you to the people who loved her most and
brought joy into her life, especially her beloved Ben; the Lister family;
Robert and Janet; her senior companion; the maintenance man at LCC; and all of
her care providers. All those who knew Diane will miss her love, gracious
heart, and robust laugh. Private services will be held. "There is no
difficulty that enough love will not conquer; No disease that enough love will
not heal; No door that enough love will not open; No gulf that enough love
will not bridge; No wall that enough love will not throw down...A sufficient

Allers, Bernard E. "Gene"
Bernard E. 'Gene' Allers Ft. Meade, SD Bernard E. 'Gene ' Allers, 73, died
Friday, June 03, 2005 at Ft. Meade Medical Center, Ft. Meade, SD. He served in
the US Army entering the service Oct. 19, 1950 and was honorably discharged
Oct. 23, 1953. He is survived by his children, Ann Hickman, Mukilteo, WA,
Ginger Thorsgaard, Rapid City, Steve Allers, Salt Lake City, Lynn Allers, Salt
Lake City, Lana Williams, Sioux Falls, Shanna Petrus, Port Orchard, WA, Keith
Allers, WA, Charles Allers, Auburn, WA, Bernard Allers, Jr.; and numerous
grandchildren and great grandchildren. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m.
Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at Pine Lawn Memorial Park chapel with Rev. Al Jacobson
of Trinity Lutheran Church as officiant. Behrens-Wilson Funeral Home is in

Bagley, Lillian Marie Pearson
Lillian Marie Pearson Bagley 1917 ~ 2005 Lillian was born February 14, 1917 in
Ririe, Idaho to Roy Oscar Pearson and Marie Sofie Peterson. She died
peacefully on June 4, 2005 at her home in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was
preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Merle Bagley; her son,
Michael Allan Bagley; her parents, and three brothers. She is survived by six
of her children and their spouses, Donald Merle, Jr. (Elaine), Dona Dryden
(David), Michael's widow (Sue), David LeRoy (Dian), Colleen Breeze, Gary Wayne
(Tamie), Marilee Cook (Brian); and brother, Howard Pearson (Cheryl). She was
the proud grandmother of 33, and great-grandmother of 52. Mother was a woman
of faith, integrity, and virtue. Foremost in her life was her love of the
Gospel of Jesus Christ. She bore a strong testimony to it's truthfulness and
was steadfast in living it's principles, setting a wonderful example for her
posterity to follow. She loved her family very much and was concerned about
their happiness and well-being. During her last coherent days on earth, she
often stated she felt surrounded by love and said "I've had a wonderful life."
We're thankful she's in a better place surrounded by many of her loved ones
who have gone on before and we're thankful for her life and for being able to
share it with her. We will miss her and we look forward to the day when we can
be with her again. Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 8, 2005, 11 a.m.
at the Salt Lake Ensign Stake Center on the corner of Second Avenue and A
Street. A viewing will be held Tuesday evening, June 7, from 6-8 p.m. at
Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple St., and Wednesday at the church from
9:30-10:45 a.m. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens, 10600 S. 1950 E.

Barker, Herbert "Tex"
Herbert "Tex" Barker 1934 ~ 2005 Tex met his Heavenly Father June 3rd, 2005.
He was born Oct. 10, 1934, in Petty, Texas to Herbert and Mattie Barker and
resided there until 1948. He then moved to Utah and lived in Davis and SL
County. Tex loved the mountain-man era and the Civil War era of history. He
was president of the Mountain Men of the Wasatch Gun Club and an active member
for several years. He married Phyllis Rickman, Nov. 20, 1959; has two sons,
John, Steve (Debbie); two grandchildren, Chris, Natalie (Justin);
sister-in-law, Margaret; sister, Linda (Chuck). Tex's wish was to be cremated.
Saturday, June 11, 2005 there will be an open house from 2-4 p.m. at the
Barker Home for any friends that would like to pay their respects. In lieu of
flowers please send a donation in Tex's name to Hospice for Utah, Draper,
Utah.

Barksdale, James Arthur
James Arthur Barksdale 1972 ~ 2005 James Arthur Barksdale, 32, was called home
to his Heavenly Father unexpectedly this week while hiking in Big Cottonwood
Canyon. Jim had a deep and abiding love for the beauty of nature and the
splendor of the outdoors, and died doing what he loved the most. For him,
every stream had a fish, every mountain was made to climb and snowboarding was
a way of life. Born July 21, 1972 in New Castle, PA, Jim also loved Reggae
music, baseball, and most of all, spending time with his son, Elijah. He was a
devoted and doting father, who will be deeply missed. He is survived by his
wife, Juliet Larson; one son, Elijah Mason Barksdale of Salt Lake City; his
parents, Glen and Ruth Barksdale of Orem; five sisters, Karyn, and Susan
Barksdale, both of Orem, Kathy Ashton of Draper, Liz Huntsman of Orem, Mary
Mack of St. George; and three brothers, Darryl Barksdale of Fresno, CA, John
Barksdale and David Barksdale of Orem. Funeral services will be held at the
Lakeridge 5th Ward 575 South 400 West in Orem on Wednesday, June 8th, 11 a.m.
Friends may call 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church.
Interment will be in the American Fork Cemetery. Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary. A
memorial fund has been established in Jim's name and donations may be made at
any Far West Bank.

Barnett, Bernice Nelson
Bernice Nelson Barnett "Nana" Bernice died of natural causes at her home in
Murray June 4, 2005. She was born September 24, 1918 in Payson, Utah to Carl
Oscar and Dollie Wightman Nelson. She married the love of her life, Maurice
Colvin Barnett, March 17, 1939 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They lived in many
communities during their marriage including Aurora, Layton, Gunnison, Payson,
Manti, and Murray, Utah as well as Paris, and Menan, Idaho. She graduated from
Payson High School and attended BYU. She was an active member of the Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her life centered around her family, her
church, and her music. She used her love of music to share her knowledge and
her voice. She had a beautiful singing voice and used it to comfort and
entertain many people. She directed the Singing Mothers, the MIA Choirs, and
MIA Roadshows, principally in Manti. Her great love of classical music
prompted her to give opera reviews to numerous clubs and organizations. She
taught voice to many young people. She also played the piano and one of her
favorite callings was Primary pianist. She loved her grandchildren and
great-grandchildren and spent many hours singing, teaching, and guiding them.
She is survived by her children, Sandra Barnett Gant, Murray, Gary (Carolyn)
Maurice Barnett, Cottonwood; a sister, Joyce (Jack) Provstgaard, Payson; one
brother, Carl Nelson, Jr., Payson; grandchildren, Lisa, Heidi, Erik, Michelle,
Natalie, Cinda, Larissa, Cathryn, Benjamin, David and Jonathan; and 21
great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice, her
parents, and three sisters. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 8,
2005, 1 a.m. at the So. Cottonwood 12th Ward, 6155 So. Glen Oaks (850 E.).
Friends may call Tuesday, from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So.
State St. and Wednesday at the church from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Payson
City Cemetery.

Berryhill, M. Loree
M. Loree Berryhill 1929 ~ 2005 Myrtice "Loree" Berryhill, age 75, of Magna,
passed away peacefully on June 1, 2005 at the Woodland Park Care Center. She
was born October 14, 1929 in Calhoun, MS to James Branyon and Lula Ethel
Guthrie McGee. She married Joseph H. Berryhill, October 14, 1946. Loree was a
member of the Church of Christ. She was a loving and generous person, always
doing for others. She enjoyed arts and crafts, and had a passion for fishing.
Survivors include her husband Joseph, grandson Jonathan Spencer, son-in-law
Donald Spencer all of Magna; sisters Flora Swanson of Albuquerque, NM and Ruby
Thompson of Orem. She was preceded in death by two daughters; Patricia Lynn
Vasquez and Mary Ethel Spencer. Memorial services will be held Saturday, June
11th, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. at Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street,
Orem.

Braithwaite, Larry L.
Larry L. Braithwaite 1937 ~ 2005 Six months shy of our 50th wedding
anniversary, Larry died tragically when he lost control of his vehicle while
heading home from a day fishing at Strawberry. He died May 30, 2005. He was
born January 16, 1937 to Laurence and Neva Norma Butcher Braithwaite in Salt
Lake City, Utah. He spent many years of his childhood in Ely and returned to
Salt Lake City where he married Barbara Johnson November 12, 1955. Together
they had seven children. Larry was a devoted son, husband, father and
grandfather. He was a brick mason and the hardest worker anyone knew. He
enjoyed working, fishing, hunting, camping and bowling and loved watching his
grandchildren's ball games. But most of all he loved talking to everyone. He
could strike up a conversation with anyone whether they were old friends or
total strangers. Little children will never forget him as they were the love
of his life. Many people will never forget his stories, as he had many to
tell, and his practical jokes that he played on many. He is survived by his
wife, Barbara; children: Mike (Teresa), Randy (deceased), Laurie Hemingway,
Jon, Darren (Kelley), Jeff, Jodi (Rick) Littleford; 15 grandchildren: Colette,
Mandy, Jake, Brad, Staci, Scott, Dylan, Cody, Whitney, Landon, McKenzee,
Brielle, Colton, Caitlyn; great-grandson, Dakota; brothers and sisters: Bob
(Louise), Bud, Stan (Mary), Norma (Mel), Les, Alice, Marge, Faye (Richard),
Connie (Jim), Judy; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents;
sister, Joyce; half sister and brothers: Gwen Chandler, Jack, and Ray. Funeral
services will be held Monday, 1:00 p.m. at the Granger North Stake Center,
3100 South 3450 West. A viewing will be held Sunday, 5-8 p.m. at McDougal
Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Monday at the church, 11:45 a.m. -
12:45 p.m. prior to service. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates.

Bush-Goins, Shelley Lynne
Shelley Lynne Bush-Goins 1952 ~ 2005 Shelley Lynne Bush-Goins passed away in
Salt Lake City June 3, at age 52. Born June 11, 1952 in "the Pacific time
zone" to David and Lorraine Bush, Shelley was raised in Clover, Utah. Shelley
was witty, clever, and just really great company. She was an example of
courage and inspiration to all who knew her and faced her challenges with
humor and a positive attitude. She spent many happy years working for the U.S.
Postal Service and served in the LDS Church in a variety of capacities. Her
scads of friends and family look forward to being with her again. We love you,
Shelley! Shelley is survived by her husband, James Goins; daughter, Sophia;
moth-er, Lorraine; siblings, Dan (Dorothy), Craig (Janice), Christine Hale,
and Lorrie. Preceded in death by her father, David. Services at Larkin
Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple Tuesday, June 7, at 12 noon; viewing one hour
prior. Interment, Clover Cemetery, 2:30 p.m.

Christensen, Belva Andersen
Belva Andersen Christensen 1932 ~ 2005 OGDEN, UT- Belva Andersen Christensen
passed away suddenly on June 1, 2005 at the McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden. Belva
was born in Brigham City on April 21, 1932 a daughter of Alonzo and Margaret
(Bassett) Andersen. She married Norman B. Christensen July 2, 1952 in the
Logan Temple. She graduated from Box Elder High School in Brigham City in 1950
and attended Weber State and Utah State University. She worked beside her
husband, first in their Salt Lake City floral business, Norman's Floral Arts,
and later in their San Francisco Store, The Greenhouse. Belva served in many
church callings, from Relief Society President to Nursery Leader. She also
taught early morning seminary in her former, Walnut Creek, California Ward.
Children were her special interest. Belva is survived by her husband, Norman
Christensen, Providence, Utah, her daughters, Lisa Christensen of Middletown,
CA; and Cristina Christensen Lawrence and husband, Paul, of Kaysville, Utah,
and her seven grandchildren, Melissa, Britton, Wyatt, Courtney, Sheridan,
Ethan, and Christian. She is also survived by her siblings and their spouses,
Melvin and Patsy Andersen, Delpha and Steve Baird, Faye Jeppson, Ralph and
Margaret Andersen, Vertis and Sandra Andersen, and Jean and Seth Jensen. She
was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Carol Andersen, a niece, Mary
Jeppson, a brother in law, Ralph Jeppson, and two nephews, James and Robert
Jeppson Funeral services will be held Monday, June 6, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. in the
Fruitland Acres Ward building, 155 North, 100 East in Providence, Utah. A
viewing will be held Sunday, June 5th at Allen Hall Mortuary 34 East Center St
in Logan from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral service at
the church. Burial will be at the Brigham City Cemetery, located at 3rd E and

Crane, Michael Todd
Michael Todd Crane 1967 ~ 2005 Our loving husband, father, son, brother and
friend, Michael Todd Crane, age 38, was released from his mortal body on June
2, 2005 following several years of challenges with his health. Born February
5, 1967 in Provo, Utah, son of Fredric John and Donna Evelyn Dixon Crane. Mike
graduated from Cyprus High School in 1985 and was an Eagle Scout. He then
served an LDS Mission in Paris, France from 1986-1988. Mike married Carolyn
Dahl on August 26, 1989 in the Salt Lake Temple. He worked as a kitchen
manager and chef at Dee's Family Restaurant for many years and then as a UTA
Bus Driver before his health failed. Mike enjoyed playing basketball, watching
sports, fishing and camping, and tinkering with cars. As an active member of
the LDS Church, he served in many callings, including that of Primary teacher,
and most recently as a special assistant to the Bishopric. Mike's greatest
joy, however, came from spending time with his family, particularly his
children. They were his pride and joy! He was always attending their soccer
games and cheering them on. Mike was a devoted family man. Mike is survived by
his wife, Carolyn; his children, Joshua, Ben, Derek, and Melinda; his parents,
Fred and Donna; brothers, Steve (Janette) and Jared (Elizabeth); sister,
Sheila Crane (Scott Tuckey); parents-in-law, Richard and Joan Dahl;
sister-in-law, Kathy (Frank) Godfrey; brother-in-law, Mark (Elayn) Dahl;
grandmother, Mary Hansen; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and
nephews. Funeral services will be Monday, 12 noon, at the Prairie 3rd Ward,
7000 South Cougar Lane (4800 West). Family and friends may visit Sunday, 6-8
p.m. at the church, and again Monday at the church, 11-11:45 a.m. Interment,
West Jordan City Cemetery. Arrangements directed by McDougal West Jordan

Erickson, Winifred Rees
Winifred Rees Erickson 1915 ~ 2005 2 June, 2005 Winnie Erickson passed from
this life, one month short of her ninetieth birthday. Born 4 July, 1915, her
birthday was cause for celebration throughout the years. Her parents were
Thomas Matthew Rees and Rebecca Ann Angell Rees. Winnie graduated from Granite
High School as valedictorian and continued her education at the University of
Utah to become a school teacher. She taught at Fillmore High School for one
year before marrying Max Perry Erickson 8 June, 1938. She had eight children,
Laurelle Gerber (Sterling), Rowene Jensen (Les), Winston (Laurel), Kathryn
Pack (Jim), Merrila, Wynnette (Beaker), Weslyn (Liz), and Kamet. All her
children survive her as do 28 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Winnie
and Max divorced in 1969. Winnie's life centered on music. She played the
piano, led music in church and choirs, and directed numerous musical
productions for the community and church, and thereby, gave opportunity for
myriads of people to develop and exhibit their talents. She dragged her
children, sometimes kicking and screaming, into those productions, and they
are forever grateful for those experiences. We will honor the life of Winnie
Tuesday, 7 June at the Rosecrest II Ward, 3101 So. 2300 E. The funeral will
begin at 11 a.m. Friends and relatives may visit with the family between
10-11. In lieu of flowers please bring voices prepared to sing to honor
Winnie's legacy. Interment, Elysian Burial Gardens. Directors, Holbrook

Halliday, Eldo H.
Eldo H Halliday 1901 ~ 2005 Eldo H Halliday, age 103, passed away Wednesday,
June 1, 2005 in Salt Lake City. He was born September 4, 1901, in Pleasant
Grove, Utah, to Joseph and Josephine Halliday, growing up in Pleasant Grove
and American Fork before moving to Salt Lake in 1918, where he attended West
High School. In June, 1920, Eldo accepted a position with Utah Power & Light
Co., advancing through the management ranks of the company until his
retirement in 1968. In November, 1940, Eldo married the love of his life,
Emmeline Frost. They were married in Coalville, Utah, and later sealed in the
Salt Lake Temple. Eldo has had a lifetime of service in The Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many wards and stake assignments in
the Salt Lake Bonneville Stake. One of the highlights of that service was in
1976, when he and Emmeline were called as Welfare and Friendshipping
Missionaries to work with Cambodian refugees in the Salt Lake valley. Eldo is
survived by his wife Emmeline, sons David and James (both of Salt Lake),
nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents,
brothers Varian (Selena) Halliday, Vere (Irma) Halliday and sister Geneal
(Elwood) Workman. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 6, 2005 at 12:00
noon, at the Bonneville Stake Center, 1535 E. Bonneview Drive, Salt Lake City.
Friends and family may call from 6:00-7:30 p.m., Sunday, June 5, at Russon
Brothers Mortuary, 255 South 200 East in Salt Lake, and 10:45-11:45 a.m. prior
to the service on Monday. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. The

Harmon, Frances Ballard
Frances Ballard Harmon 3/27/1911 ~ 6/1/2005 Julia Frances Ballard Harmon, 94,
of Holden, UT, peacefully left mortality, June 1, 2005, in Fillmore. Born
March 27, 1911, in Candler, FL to Lawrence Ballard, Sr. and Mary Ellen Hurst
Ballard. Graduated Leon High in Tallahassee, and received B.S. from Florida
State College for Women in 1933. Baptized into LDS Church in 1936. Taught in
Florida schools until marriage to Horace Ansil Harmon in Salt Lake Temple, May
18, 1939. Made their home in Holden, until moving to Deer Park, FL in 1955.
Frances taught in Melbourne, Deer Park, and St. Cloud, FL schools. Returned to
Holden in 1969. She served with her husband in the Manti Temple and in the
Florida Tampa Mission. Horace passed away May 31, 1994. She was continually
involved in church, school, and community service and became one of state's
oldest CERT volunteers at age 90. Survived by four children, Lawrence Milo
(Carolyn) Harmon and Doris Hodgkinson of Salt Lake City; Gene A (Karren)
Harmon of Oakdale, CA; Dixie Lee (Michael) Steimle of Mesa, AZ.; 21
grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren with two more expected soon; brother,
Hugh H. Ballard of Newport, NC; sisters, Marion Nelson of Fillmore, Louise
Brown of Melbourne, FL,;and multitude of nieces and nephews. Services,
Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at 12 noon in Holden Ward. Friends call at church
Tuesday, 10:30-11:45 a.m. Burial Holden Cemetery. Funeral Directors, Nickle
Mortuary, Delta. The family expresses a special thank you to the long-term
care staff of the Fillmore Community Hospital for their many kindnesses and
great love.

Haws, Edith Broadbent
Edith Broadbent Haws 1907 ~ 2005 LEHI - Our dear mother and grandmother, Edith
Broadbent Haws, age 97, of Lehi, UT, passed away surrounded by her family on
Thursday, June 2, 2005 at her home from causes incident to age. She was born
Dec. 6, 1907 in Lehi, UT to Joseph Samuel and Annie Shaw Broadbent. She
married her husband, Jay Knollin Haws, Nov. 3, 1933 in the Salt Lake LDS
Temple. After eight years, she has been reunited with her sweetheart.
Following her graduation from Lehi High School, she attended the LDS Business
College in Salt Lake City. Upon her marriage to Jay, she worked and helped in
several family businesses. She and Dad spent many hours doing genealogy and
temple work in the first years of their marriage which became a hobby during
their entire life. Her favorite job, however, was being a Mom and a
Grandmother. She provided untiring love and support to children and
grandchildren. The Gospel was very important in the life of Mother. Her payday
in life was when her children were doing and serving as we had been taught
from childhood. Mom was very patriotic and supported her sons and son-in-law
as they served for many years in the Utah Army National Guard. She loved
growing flowers, especially her roses and the family garden. She was a member
of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served faithfully
in many callings. Her favorite was serving as the Lehi Fifth Ward Relief
Society President where she and the other sisters enjoyed quilting, making
meat pies cooking and baking for Ward dinners. She was an ordinance worker in
the Provo LDS Temple for 14 years and served two missions with her husband in
the Sidney Australia Mission (1971-73) and the Missionary Training Center, SLC
(1974-75). Dad and Mother loved to travel and took many of their grandchildren
(three at a time) to the Church Historical sites in the East and the Palmyra
Pageant in New York. Edith is survived by three sons and one daughter: John
Knollin (Deanna Eggli) Haws of Lehi, Joseph Hugh (Deanna Lee) Haws of
Riverton, Ralph Jay (Connie Dean) Haws of South Jordan currently serving in
the West Indies Mission at Trinidad, and Elaine Haws (J.H.) Hadfield of
American Fork, 23 grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, 65
great-grand-children, and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in
death by her parents, husband, and two brothers, John Samuel and Alvin Dixon
Broadbent and two sisters, Tora Broadbent Loveridge, and Ruth Broadbent
Wagstaff Lamoreau and a granddaughter and great-grandson. Special thanks is

Marlo Dean Honey 05/01/24 ~ 06/04/05 Marlo Honey of South Jordan, 81, returned
to our Heavenly Father after a strong and courageous battle against cancer. He
is reunited with his wife, Elaine, and his father, Joseph. Marlo had a great
love for family, friends, and his horses. You could always find him out back
with his four legged pals. He leaves behind his mother, Violet Honey; two
brothers, Don, and Paul; sister, Beverly. His son, Romell Honey (Julie); two
daughters, Janice Honey-Allred (Steve), Sharon Bickley (Dave). Grandchildren,
Meghan (Kerry), Tyler, Mandy, Josh, Zach, and Angel; along with many dear deaf

Jarvis, Lee Taylor
Lee Taylor Jarvis 1920 ~ 2005 Lee Taylor Jarvis, 84, died June 2, 2005 in Salt
Lake City, Utah. Lee was born November 6, 1920 in Hinckley, Utah to John
Taylor Jarvis and Rose Edith Lee. He was raised on a farm with his four
sisters and grew up doing milking and farm chores. His father died when Lee
was three years old. His mother then married Joseph Sylvester Nielson. The
family later moved to Salt Lake where they managed a dairy farm. Lee attended
Hinckley Elementary School, Horace Mann Junior High and West High School. He
served in the Texas-Louisiana Mission. He was in Palestine, Texas, at the time
of Pearl Harbor. On returning home, Lee entered military service. While
stationed at Randolph Field, San Antonio, Texas, he met his future wife
Jeanette (Jeri) Bowers, who was touring the country as a singer with a USO
troop. Lee and Jeri were married May 18, 1946 in the Salt Lake Temple. Lee
attended the University of Utah for a year and then moved his wife and son to
San Antonio, Texas where he attended Texas Chiropractic College. Lee began his
chiropractic practice in Salt Lake while holding down a part-time job with the
Salt Lake City Water Department. He served as president of the Utah
Chiropractic Association and on many professional boards and committees. He
served in the first bishopric of the Garden Park 2nd Ward. He taught Sunday
School, Primary, and priesthood and was an innovative cub master and
activities chairman. Lee and Jeri taught ballroom and folk dancing in wards
and stakes and assisted with June dance festivals. Lee enjoyed camping, hiking
and outings with his children. He and Jeri and the family loved family
vacations and traveled throughout the United States and also visited many
foreign countries. In his retirement years Lee and Jeri completed three
proselyting missions and also served as hosts on Temple Square for eight
years. Lee was a devoted father to four daughters and three sons: Ken (Patty),
Patricia, Kelly (Ruth), Scott (Jane), Jill (Craig) Maddox, Kathlyn (Tom)
Thatcher, Wendy (John) Hairel. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren, with
one more expected in November, and 10 great grandchildren. He is preceded in
death by his parents, four sisters, Roma Knight, Lillian Chatterley, Ione
Reeder, Vesta Lindstrom; and grandson Christopher Lee Jarvis. Funeral services
will be held Tuesday, June 7, at 12:00 p.m. in the Garden Park Ward, 1150 Yale
Ave., Salt Lake City. Friends may call on Monday, June 6 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 255 S. 200 E. Salt Lake City and from 11:00 -

Lemon, Homer Harold
Homer Harold Lemon 1915 ~ 2005 Early on Thursday June 2, 2005, Homer Harold
Lemon passed away in his sleep and into the waiting arms of his eternal
companion and sweetheart Genevieve, never to be parted again. Homer was of
pioneer stock, being the great-grandson of William McClure Lemon and Charles
A. Harper, both Mormon pioneers of the first companies to reach the Salt Lake
Valley on July 23, 1847. He was born Feb. 24, 1915 in Francis, Summit County,
Utah and recently celebrated his 90th birthday. His parents were Harold Harper
Lemon and Hilda Jane Peterson. He was preceded in death by a sister; Ella Mae
(Leon) Jeppson, and a brother, Royal Woodrow (Janet Madsen) Lemon, and
son-in-law, Donald Garfield. As a young boy, he was baptized in a small creek
in Francis and was a life long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints. He joined the Navy as a young man and was a veteran of
World War II and later retired as a Chief Petty Officer after 23 years of
active service. He met his sweetheart, Genevieve, on a Greyhound bus while on
leave from the Navy and they were married on November 20, 1943. After retiring
from the Navy, Homer worked as a letter carrier for the Postal Service for
many years and then as an aircraft mechanic at Hill Air Force Base, from which
he retired. He also enjoyed working part time as a school crossing guard in
Salt Lake City. He loved fishing, even though he wasn't very good at it! He
enjoyed many hobbies including ham radio, growing orchids, four wheeling,
traveling with mom and the Wally Byam Airstream Club, including a trip to the
tip of the Yucatan peninsula one Summer, and raising canaries and pigeons. The
grandchildren loved to hear Grandpa trill like a canary or hee haw like a
donkey. One of his favorite callings was a temple worker in the Jordan River
Temple in his later years. From a first marriage to Agnes Howell, he has left
behind a daughter, Colleen Black, of Overland Park, Kansas. Homer and
Genevieve are both survived by their three sons and two daughters; David
Lemon, Stephen Lemon, Kevin (Linda) Lemon, Deborah Garfield, and Pamela Lemon,
eleven grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. He was a loving father,
grandfather, and great-grandfather. We love you Dad. Go in peace, until we
meet again. We wish to thank the caregivers at Heritage Place, and the Life
Care Center of Bountiful for all they did for Dad. Funeral Services will be
held Tuesday 11:00 a.m., June 7th, 2005 in the Murray 29th Ward Chapel, 6300

Terry A. Mann 1939 ~ 2005 Our loving father, son, brother, and friend, age 65,
was released from his mortal body June 4, 2005 following several years of
challenges with his health. Born June 17, 1939 in Bountiful, Utah son of
Leonard and Wanda Bray Mann. Remarried Joan Rowland June 16, 2004 in Elko,
Nevada. Terry was an all around mechanic all of his life. Worked for Granite
School District. Loved fishing, hunting and telling stories about his life or
adventures. Terry's greatest joy was in his relationship with his
grandchildren. They were his pride and joy. Survived by his wife, Joan;
children, Rickie Dean, Terry Lynn, Tammra Jean, Tessie, Troy, Bodi, Rick,
Scott, Shane, Jill; brothers, Clealon (Nanell) and Taylor; sisters, Iris,
Jennie (Gary), Marsha (Ron). Preceded in death by twin sons; parents;
brothers, Neil and Wendle; sister, Donna. Acknowledgment to Lynda Davies, his

McCarthy, Wilma Rebecca Jones
Wilma Rebecca Jones McCarthy 1910 ~ 2005 Wilma Rebecca Jones McCarthy died
June 2, 2005 in Salt Lake City. She was born July 6, 1910 in Wellington, Utah
to John Johnson and Fanny Rebecca Lucas Jones. She married John C. McCarthy
Sr. on July 13, 1934 (Friday 13th) in Provo, Utah. She lived in Clear Creek,
Utah from childhood until 1969 when she and her husband moved to Orem, Utah.
She was an active member of the LDS Church, and served as Primary president in
Clear Creek for many years, and librarian in the ward in Orem for over 20
years, as well as serving in many other positions. She was the Post Mistress
at Clear Creek for several years, and owned and operated the Clear Creek
Market. She loved her family, neighbors and church friends. She enjoyed
crocheting, poetry, reading, big family dinners and cooking. She especially
enjoyed sharing her cookies, fruit cakes, pies, and fruits and vegetables from
their trees and garden. Their field in Orem has been a playground for
neighborhood children for over 40 years. She was one of the few democrats in
Utah County. She was preceded in death by her husband, John "Jack"; her son,
Larry; son-in-law, Richard Murdock; two sisters, Elizabeth Neilson and
Florence Wallace; and by four brothers, Willis, Walter, Melvin and Joseph
Jones. She is survived by her daughter, Marlene of Salt Lake City; son, John
C. Jr. (Lorraine) of Glenwood Springs, CO; one brother, Ross (Yvonne) Price;
eight grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild; a
sister-in-law, Ruby Roberts of Tooele; and many nieces and nephews. The family
would like to thank Wilma's many neighbors, Sam and Nancy Rushforth, Jim and
Maurine Allen, John and Kendra Hall, Linda Gardener, Bishop Robert Mower and
family, Blaine and Merlene Farnworth, and many others. We would also like to
thank the staff at Highland Care Center for their special care during the last

Sharren McCauley "Mimi" Our loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and
friend, Sharren McCauley, age 59, passed away after fighting a battle with
cancer. Born December 14, 1945, in Salina, Utah, to Leon and Boneta Taylor
Schofield. Married Steve McCauley on June 5, 1964. She was affectionately
known as Mimi by her grandchildren. Survived by her husband, Steve; children,
Kori Ann (Chad) McNeill, Megan V. (Richard) Conder, Audra Lee (Jeff) Hankins;
grandchildren, Shariah, Shelby, Taylor, Cody Von, McCauley, Alexandera, Colin,
Sierra; mother, Boneta; sisters, Bonnie (Jim) Davis, Tracey Schofield, Tricia
Chaudoin; brothers, Troy Schofield, Phillip Connell; many nieces and nephews.

Howard Jay Moody 1927 ~ 2005 Howard Jay Moody, our beloved husband, father,
grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, passed away in Sandy, UT on June
1, 2005. He was born April 30, 1927 to Edgar Rollo and Emma Floy Sorensen
Moody in Delta, Utah and was married to his sweetheart, Florence Marie
Birtcher, in the Manti LDS Temple. He served in the Eastern States Mission and
was veteran of World War II. He graduated with honors in business from BYU and
worked as an accountant and business manager in the automotive industry for 35
years. He loved the Lord and served diligently in the LDS Church, fulfilling
callings in bishoprics, stake presidency, stake president, and patriarch. His
joys were his family and the Savior. He is survived by his wife Florence and
children: Cheryl (Ron) Tate, Craig (Karlene), Jaydene (Chad) Washburn, Doug
(Chris), Darin (Marcia), Jennifer (Bradley) Bassi, 26 grandchildren, 18
great-grandchildren; sisters, Madge, Doreen, and Floy; and brothers, Paul,
Brian and Bruce. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Marilyn.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 6th at 12:00 noon at the Sandy Utah
Crescent South Stake Center, 275 E. 10600 S., Sandy, Utah. Friends may call

Morgan, Larry Dean
Larry Dean Morgan 1935 ~ 2005 Our beloved husband, father, grandfather,
great-grandfather, and brother passed away June 3, 2005 after a long,
courageous battle with cancer. He was born September 6, 1935 to Harris Garr
Morgan and Leone Cooley in Murray, Utah. He married his high school
sweetheart, Barbara Mc-Clellan June 23, 1953. They were later sealed in the
Salt Lake Temple September 2, 1955. His sweetheart, Bobbie, was the love of
his life, followed by his four sons and their families. He enjoyed any
activity that involved his kids or grandchildren, and he also loved to spend
time with his brother, Jack, and other close friends. He was a wonderful story
teller that could strike up a conversation with anyone. He loved our country
and its history and served proudly in the Nation-al Guard. He influenced many
young people through his lifelong career in the grocery business, and was a
gifted salesman that could sell anything. He was an active member of the
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in many callings. He
is survived by his wife, Bobbie; and his children, Stephen (Sandra), Mike
(Judy), Bret (Kathy), Mark (fianc , Kelly), (former daughter-in-law, Carolyn);
13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Jack (Janice);
stepsisters, Renee Patrick, Kay Gunderson, and Norma Roylance. He is preceded
in death by his parents; brother, Bob; and stepsisters, Billie Sweeney and
Marge Hall. Special thanks to Dr. Marta Petersen and the staff of the Huntsman
Cancer Institute for their compassionate care. Funeral services will be held

LaVerda Moss "Babe" 1925 ~ 2005 Mom left us suddenly at the age of 80 years on
June 2, 2005 in West Bountiful, Utah. She was born January 12, 1925 in Twin
Falls, Idaho the daughter of Ernest and Stella Kynaston Youngberg. LaVerda
married William Leonard Moss on December 13, 1947. He died July 13, 1966
Everyone who knew Babe loved her and her bright spirit. Babe has lived in
Bountiful for the past 36 years. She enjoyed trips with her sister, Emily, and
loved being with and cooking for the family. For the past six years Babe had
worked at the Centerville Target. She enjoyed camping, fishing and being in
the outdoors. She is survived by three children, Glen C. (Linda) Peterson, Tom
(Terry) Moss, Linda Lujan, all of West Bountiful. Two sisters, Emily Petersen
and LaVerna (Willard) Cleverly, both of Bountiful; ten grandchildren,16 great-
grandchildren and one on the way. Preceded in death by her husband, William
Moss; two sisters, Lydia Bangerter, Genevieve Jarvis; three brothers, Ernest,

Norton, William
William J. "Bill" Norton 1924 ~ 2005 Bill Norton, age 80, died June 3, 2005 at
his home in Tooele. He was born Dec 16, 1924 in Panguitch, Utah the son of
Merritt L. and Eliza Ann Cameron Norton. He graduated from East High School
and attended the University of Utah. He served in the Navy during World War II
and served in the Texas-Louisiana Mission. He married Shirley J. Hansen May
22, 1950 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They just celebrated their 55th wedding
anniversary. Bill was a kind and generous husband, father and grandfather who
was nice to everyone. He is survived by his wife, Shirley; children, Becky
(Glen) Murray, Richard Norton, Shirley (Ken) Oltmanns; 10 grandchildren; and
seven great-grandchildren, all of Tooele; brothers, Ron, D.R., Kenneth (Mary),
Lorin; sisters-in-law, Donna, Thelma, Shirley and Ellen; brother-in-law,
Quintin Graves. Preceded in death by his son, Tim; brothers, Preston, Dexter,
Earl, Clem, Clinton, baby brother Clive; sisters, Barbara, and twin Alice.

Ogren, Zina Snyder
Zina Snyder Ogren 1913 ~ 2005 "All of us are largely the product of lives that
touch ours." - President Gordon B. Hinckley. We are deeply grateful for the
privilege of knowing Zina Snyder Ogren, a most gracious lady, whose mortal
existence touched countless lives during her 92 years spent on earth. We can
only imagine the great heavenly reunion as she reunites with so many of her
family and friends, including her sweetheart husband, Carl G. Ogren, who
passed away in 1978. Zina left her earthly existence on the beautiful morning
of June 3, 2005. She spent her life in the service of others, always thinking
of someone else's needs before her own, even until the end. Our mother,
grandmother and dear friend left a legacy of the pure love of Christ through
her unconditional love, generosity, charity, and faith. Zina was born on March
10, 1913 to Albert F. and Aurelia Clyde Snyder. She spent her childhood in
Provo as one of seven children, all of whom preceded her in death, Essie
Jepperson, Birdie Shank, Evelyn Brown, Blanche, Elwyn, and Deloss Snyder. On
November 15, 1933, Zina married Eric Carl Gustave Ogren. Together they raised
four children. Zina and Carl owned and operated several restaurants in Utah
County. She worked, until her retirement, in the nursery and admitting
department of Utah Valley Hospital, where she made many long-lasting
friendships. She was a life-long resident of Provo, Utah, where she was a
faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Zina spent
countless hours caring for others. Whether it was preparing a dinner for
someone in need or sitting through the night, awaiting a last breath, Zina
willingly served others without ever seeking rewards or recognition. She was a
true example of "the wind beneath our wings." Zina especially enjoyed spending
time with her family. She loved a party and was the hostess of many. Numerous
dinners, holiday celebrations, sleepovers, and fun times were spent at
Grandma's house. As we say, "See ya for now," we will miss Grandma Zina's
bright blue eyes, "nickels", jokes, phone calls, long car rides, "snacks",
people watching, ice cream, card games, pumpkin pie, candy bowl, and her very
existence as our "command post." However, these memories will be forever
locked away in our hearts, filling some of the emptiness left behind, until we
meet her again. Zina leaves behind her four children, Douglas (Nelma Jean,
deceased) Ogren, Provo, Carla and Jerry James, Spanish Fork, Jim and Sammy
Ogren, Mapleton, and Rhoda and Richard Zobell, Provo. She has six
grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and five great
great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Mrs. Elsie
Mecham of Spanish Fork. We will celebrate Zina's life and honor her graduation
at a funeral service to be held this Tuesday, June 7 at 11 a.m. in the Berg
Mortuary Drawing Room Chapel, 185 E. Center Street, Provo, Utah. A viewing
will be held at the same location on Monday, June 6 from 6-8 p.m. as well as
Tuesday morning, one hour prior to services.. Interment will be in the Provo
City Cemetery. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the

John Blaine Oldham 1916 ~ 2005 BOUNTIFUL - John Blaine Oldham, age 88, passed
away Friday, June 3, 2005 in Bountiful, Utah John was born June 12, 1916 in
Logan, Utah, the son of James and Ellen Oldham. Married Pearl Mitchell in the
Salt Lake Temple August 19, 1936, who died February 25, 1980. Married Genieve
Ashby Dec 22, 1980 who died June 9, 1995. John was an active member of the
Bountiful 3rd Ward. John was very active at the Bountiful Golden Years Senior
Citizen Center where he enjoyed the company of many friends. He performed
community service by delivering "Meals on Wheels" for several years. John
worked 37 years as a switchman for the Union Pacific Railroad. He took great
pride in his yard and won many beautification awards from Bountiful City for
his lovely flowers and yard. John was an active happy person who looked at
life as every day was a good day! Survived by his children, David M
Oldham(Julia), Mary Lou Crane (Robert), James E Oldham(Carolyn); 24
grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; and three brothers. Preceeded in death
by his wives, Pearl, Genieve; his son, John H. Oldham; one grandchild; and

Oleen, Stefani Diane
Stefani Diane Oleen "Honey" Our loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother,
and friend, Stefani Diane Oleen passed away unexpectedly June 2, 2005 and the
angels came to take her home. Daughter of Patrick and Kathy Bacca, Stefani was
born December 15, 1968. She married Max Aragon, later divorced. Married Shayne
Oleen on August 9, 1996. Stefani's passion was her family, friends, and her
work. She also loved playing softball and being in the great outdoors. She was
a kind and gentle soul. Survived by her parents; loving husband; children,
Theresa, Sara, Carlos Aragon, Colton Oleen; three stepchildren, Ashlee, Amber
and Tonya Oleen; two granddaughters, Tatum and Jaylenn; sister, Katy;
brothers, Nick, and Joe; and numerous aunts, and uncles. Preceded in death by
her grandparents; and her favorite uncle, Randy. A Funeral Mass will be
celebrated Tuesday, June 7 10 am at Our Lady Of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 715

Pulver, Phoebe Lois Earley
Phoebe Lois Earley Pulver (Don't Forget!) Our sweetheart, mother dearest,
grandmother, and friend returned to her Heavenly Father peacefully with her
family surrounding her on June 3, 2005 after a lingering illness. She was born
April 2, 1928 to John Lyman Earley and Henrietta Calder in Salt Lake City,
Utah. She was married in San Diego, California June 28, 1946 to Stirley J.
Pulver. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They
lived happily together for almost 59 years. Lois served in many positions over
the years in the LDS Church. She loved her pioneer ancestry and served for
many years in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Her greatest joy came from
the Gospel, her family, and sweet service to others. She is survived by her
husband, Stirley; sister, Donna DeYoung, Carlsbad, California; and children,
Sue Hall (Rick), Peggy Eaton (Mike), John, Linda Oldroyd (Jack), Phil (Jill),
and Bruce (Darlene). She leaves behind 20 grandchildren and eight
great-grandchildren. The family expresses their sincere appreciation for all
those who worked so lovingly and showed such great care during all of her
health struggles. She leaves behind a legacy of great faith for all her
posterity to emulate. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 7th, 11 a.m.
at the Haven Ward, 2280 South 300 East. Family and friends may call Monday
evening from 6-8 p.m. at Memorial Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East and Tuesday at
the ward from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be at the

Redden, Jeffrey E.
Jeffrey E. Redden 8/13/86 ~ 6/2/2005 Jeff left us to join his Grandpa Paskett
and to meet for the first time his other Grandparents, Carlos E. and Lafay
Redden, and other loved ones in heaven. Survived by his dad, and mom, Eddie
and Lois Redden; sister, Cheryl (Josh) Short; nieces Hailie and Caitlyn;
grandmother, Esther Gwen Paskett; many extended family and friends. A viewing
will be held Tuesday, June 7 from 11 a.m.-12 noon at the Neil O'Donnell and
Sons Mortuary 372 East 100 South. Interment, Memorial Estates Cemetery 6500

Reed, Max Holbrook
Max Holbrook Reed 1923 ~ 2005 Max Holbrook Reed, 82, died in Salt Lake City,
Saturday June 4, 2005. Max was born May 14, 1923 in Bountiful, Utah. He
married Ruth Kerr Reed July 27, 1946, in Salt Lake City, Utah and was later
solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. He attended Davis High School, and was an
active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Max was
raised in Bountiful as the seventh of eight children. He was taught early in
life the value of hard work, which was the central theme of his entire life.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II at the same time as four of his
brothers. He was employed by the V.A. Hospital, and by the church. He retired
from the post office. He had a great love for fishing, camping, and the
outdoors. His great loves in life were his sweetheart Ruth, family, and
farming the small portion of the family farm on Orchard Dr. in Bountiful. Max
is survived by his wife, Ruth Kerr Reed; and children, Mike (Kathy) Reed,
Connie (Dave) Emett, Bob (TerriLynn) Reed, Kent (Mae) Reed, Dick (Corie) Reed;
one brother, Harry (Carol) Reed; 28 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and five brothers.
Funeral services will be held Wed-nesday, June 8, 2005, 11 a.m. at the Cannon
5th Ward Chapel, 1250 West 1400 South, Salt Lake City. Friends may call
Tuesday, June 7, from 6-8 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North

Roylance, Victor Storey
Victor Storey Roylance 5/17/11 - 6/3/05 Victor S. Roylance, 94, passed away
Friday, June 03, 2005 at the home of his daughter. He was born in North Ogden
May 17, 1911 to George Newby and Margaret Storey Roylance. He was educated in
Weber County schools, playing football for Weber High School, Weber Academy
and the University of Utah. Victor was an engineer for the Union Pacific
retiring in 1974. He was a high priest in the LDS Church. He taught a number
of Sunday School classes and was active in genealogical work. Together with
his father and brothers, they drilled many of the wells that are still
supplying water to Northern Utah. He married Grace Wolthuis Aug 20, 1935 in
the Logan LDS Temple. They are the parents of five children, Sharon (Dee)
Neuenschwander, Nancy (Ross) Olsen, Paul (Linda) Roylance, Gay (Hugh)
Bringhurst and Grant (Karen) Roylance. They are grandparents of 21 and great
grandparents of 40. Peceded in death by his wife; parents; a sister, Norma;
and two brothers, Clyde and Richard. He was a hard working and devoted husband
and father who provided well for his family, and will be missed by all who
loved him. Funeral services are Monday, June 6, 1 p.m. at Myers Mortuary
Chapel, 845 Washington, Blvd., Ogden, Utah. There will be a viewing at Myers
Mortuary on Sunday, June 5th from 6- 8 p.m. and on Monday June 6th from
11:30-12:30 p.m. Interment will be in the Ben Lomond Cemetery, North Ogden.

Cody T. Sherman 1977 ~ 2005 PRICE, UT- Cody Tod Sherman, age 27, returned to
his Heavenly Father May 28, 2005, at Lake Powell. He was born Oct. 25, 1977 in
Provo to William Howard and Marsha Dawn Wilson Sherman. He married Nichole
Jean Parlett Dec. 24, 1999, in Cleveland, later divorced. Above all else,
Cody's children, Jordan Brooke (5) and Dylan Gage (3), were the love of his
life. Funeral services will be Monday, June 6, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. in the
Orangeville 3rd Ward LDS Chapel, 165 W. 800 No., in Castle Dale where friends
may call one hour prior to services. Burial in the Castle Dale Cemetery under
the direction of Fausett Mortuary.

Simon, Bonnie Lynn
Bonnie Lynn Simon 1946 ~ 2005 St. George, Ut - Bonnie Lynn Simon, 58, of St.
George, passed away on June 3rd, in her son's home, from a long battle of
Renal Failure. She was born November 27, 1946 in Gunnison, Utah to Mr. Jabez
Walser Durfee and Evelyn Virginia Casteel Durfee. In 1965 she graduated from
Granite High School in Salt Lake City, Utah. She also attended Dixie College.
She was married in October of 1967 to Gary Simon who later divorced. She was a
member of the LDS Church. Bonnie will always be remembered for her enduring
strength. She loved life and especially her grandchildren. Our mother and
friend will be deeply missed. Her father preceded her in death. She is
survived by her Mother, Evelyn Durfee, son Nick Simon and wife Wendi of St.
George, daughter Bobbie Heywood of St. George, three grandchildren Barry
Heywood, Nicole Simon, and Sean Simon, two step grandchildren, Shawn Snow and
Ashley Snow, and five brothers and five sisters. Funeral services will be held
Tuesday, June 7, 2005, at 11 a.m., at the Metcalf Mortuary Chapel, 288 W. St.
George Blvd. A visitation will be held Monday, June 6, from 6-8 p.m., and
Tuesday, June 7, from 9:30-10:30 a.m., at the mortuary. Interment will be in

William Owen Smith "Smitty" (GG) Gone Fishin' Our beloved father, grandfather
and friend, W. Owen "Smitty" Smith passed away June 2, 2005 at his home. He
was born August 25, 1919 in Salt Lake City, to William Henry and Helen Smith.
Married Beth Edginton; later divorced. He served two years in the US Navy.
Married Afton Rossiter, she preceded him in death. Married Marvel Ashbridge
who also preceded him in death. Smitty worked for Kennecott Copper for 40
years; retired and started living his life. On his retirement, he joined the
49ers where he met so many friends. He enjoyed bowling, fishing and family
parties. He was loved by all, and will be missed by his many friends and
family. He is survived by his sons, Brent and Steve; sister, Ruby Hansen;
step-children, Steve, Stuart, Penny, Stan; 17 grandchildren; 20
great-grand-children and four great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will
be held Monday, June 6th, 11:00 a.m. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 S.
Redwood Rd. A viewing will be held Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. and one hour
prior to services.

Snow, Donna May Manning
Donna May Manning Snow 1928 ~ 2005 Donna May Manning Snow returned to Heavenly
Father on June 2, 2005. Donna was born on January 28, 1928 to Alpha Horatio
Manning and Mary Muhlfeit Manning in Shelley, Idaho. She attended schools in
Shelley, Idaho and graduated later from Ogden High School. She worked at
Mountain Bell and then went to a full-time job as mother and grandmother.
Donna married Harry Luman and later divorced him. She then married her current
husband, Emery V. Snow in Elko, Nevada on November 3, 1956. They were later
sealed at the Salt Lake Temple in 1975. She worked at the Salt Lake Temple in
the Youth Center for over 11 years and was an election judge. She also tended
children in the home for some time. Her lifetime passions were crafts, serving
others and her family. She especially enjoyed her membership in the LDS Church
and her friendships she maintained there and her associations. She also loved
the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. She is survived by her daughters, Suzie (Wayne)
Harris, and Mary, both of Salt Lake; sons, Kenton and Charles of West Valley
City. Survived by grandchildren, Lee Birky, Katherine and Rebecca McIlrath and
Joe Stewart, fianc  to Rebecca. She is also survived by her sister, Alice
Whipple; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by
parents; sisters, Edith, Ellen, and Ruth; and brothers, William, George, and
Paul. She also was preceded in death by grandson Mark D. McIlrath. Many thanks
to all her doctors at the University of Utah and the Stephen D. Radcliffe
Clinic, friends and others who have been with her those last few years.
Donations may be given to the Primary Children's Hospital or the American
Heart Association. Funeral services will be held at Tuesday, June 7, 2005, 11
a.m. at Rose Park North Stake Center, 1155 North 1200 West (Boy Scout Drive).

9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at Larkin Sunset Garden, 1700

Stimpson, Jonathan David Barson
Jonathan David Barson Stimpson 04-26-91 ~ 06-01-05 Our "Little Man" Jon Jon
completed his journey in this life on June 1st at Primary Children's Medical
Center. Jonathan valiantly fought a life long battle with physical illness.
His smile and inner light touched the lives of everyone he came in contact
with. He was an example of love and courage and all who knew him lived a
richer life because of his influence. Jonathan was adored by his four sisters
and brother. His favorite thing was to play with them. He loved to pull their
hair and spill their drinks. He enjoyed the outdoors, swinging, and riding
four-wheelers in the warmth of the sun. Jonathan loved to read with his
grandparents and his teacher Tina. He was full of energy and expressed a will
to live life regardless of his many challenges. His passion for living and
spirit of love will remain in our hearts forever. Jonathan and his family
would like to thank the many care-givers that so kindly provided countless
hours of service throughout his life. Jonathan is survived by parents, Todd
and Tina Stimpson, and John and Julie Barson; Grandparents, Dave and Miriam
Stimpson, Elaine Woolsey, Donald Hamson, and Clyde, Jeanette Barson.

Strong, Gladys B.
Gladys B Strong 1908 ~ 2005 Gladys B Strong passed away May 7, 2005. She was
born October 15, 1908, Logan, Utah to Leonard Olofson and Cora Poppleton
Olofson. Married Walter Belfield January 7, 1932 and moved to Salt Lake.
Walter Belfield died July 10, 1941. Married LeRoy Westover June 6, 1956 in
Salt Lake. He died November 30,1967. Married Marvin Strong May 5,1970. Marvin
died January 8,1987. Survived by son, James S. Belfield; two grandchildren,
Southern California; and four great-grandchildren in California. She has two
surviving siblings, a half sister in North Salt Lake and a half brother in
Logan, Utah. There are also several step-children from Le Roy Westover. Gladys
was a single mother for 15 years while her son was growing up and survived by
working in the wholesale drug business for minimum wage and managed to save
money to pay cash for a car when her son turned 16. Burial will be in Logan,
time and date to be announced.

Woodhouse, Grant Molen
Grant Molen Woodhouse 1931 ~ 2005 Grant Molen Woodhouse, our beloved husband,
father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, passed away at home in
West Jordan, Utah on June 3, 2005. He was born October 21, 1931 in Bingham,
Utah to Jesse Monroe and Lila Marie Harmon Woodhouse. Married his high school
sweetheart, Dawn Stoker, and was sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. He was a
master machinist until his medical retirement in 1991. He loved the Lord and
served diligently in the LDS Church, fulfilling callings as a high priest,
stake high councilman and working in the temple. His greatest joy came from
his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survived by his wife,
Dawn; children, David Grant (Dulane) Woodhouse, Shari (Mike) Bunderson, Scott
Gale (Brenda) Woodhouse, and Becki Simmons; 29 grandchildren; 28
great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara (Clay) Robinson. Preceded in death by his
parents; and brothers, Lyle and Gale. Funeral services will be Tuesday, June
7, 2005, 11 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 So. Redwood Rd, where a

Wycherly, Elda
Elda Wycherly 4/30/1915 ~ 6/2/ 2005 Our beloved mother, grandmother and
great-grandmother, Elda Wycherly, of Salt Lake City, UT, passed away
peacefully on Thursday, June 2, 2005 in Taylorsville, UT. Elda was born April
30, 1915 in Manassa, CO to Samuel and Harriet Ella Jackson, Jr. Elda graduated
from BYU with a degree in Education and taught second grade. She met Gaylen
Lloyd Wycherly while attending BYU. They were married December 23, 1938 in the
Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mom was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter-day Saints. She held various callings in the church. She enjoyed
reading, crocheting and working hard. Her greatest joys were her family and
Gaylen and her beautiful home. Moms favorite saying was "I'm glad that's
over." Elda is survived by her three daughters, Madelyn Newman (Stan,
deceased) of Idaho Falls, Harriet (David) Ballard of Salt Lake City, Kathy
(John) Page, Salt Lake City; ten grandchildren; 13 great-grand-children; and
three sisters, LaMone, Lois and Hannah. Preceded in death by her husband,
parents, brothers and sister, and one granddaughter. Funeral services for Elda
will be held on Monday, June 6, 2005, 12:00 noon at the Rosecrest 1st Ward,
3101 S. 2300 E., Salt Lake City, UT, where friends may call on Monday morning
