Archibald, Delaine
Delaine Archibald Will Be Missed MALAD - Delaine Archibald, 81, of Malad and
wife of the late Elden Archibald, died Wednesday, March 23, 2005, in Salt Lake
City, Utah. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 26, at 2 p.m., in the
Malad LDS Fourth Ward Chapel, 20 S. 100 W. Friends may call at the church
Friday evening, March 25, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Malad Third Ward Chapel, 400
N. 200 W., and Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the Fourth Ward prior to
services.

Bauman, Camille Openshaw
Camille Openshaw Bauman "Cami" Our sweet, beautiful and generous spirit Cami,
was called home to her heavenly father on March 20th, 2005. She was at her
home. Born on August 25th, 1956 in Salt Lake City to R. Boyd Openshaw
(deceased) and Doris Dalton Openshaw. She was a very loving mother, daughter,
sister, aunt and niece, who was loved dearly by everyone that knew her and
will be sorely missed by all. As a young girl, she was very talented in
dancing and playing the guitar. She graduated from Olympus High School in
1973. In her later years, she loved modeling with her twin sister and
competing in body building. They won several trophies throughout the United
States. Cami became a very successful executive over the last 20 years in the
NuSkin business. She married Ben Sewell (divorced), married Keith Bankhead
(divorced), and married Greg Bauman (divorced). Survived by two daughters,
Rheo Sewell and M'Lisa Bankhead Kiser (Brandon), her mother, Doris Openshaw,
two sisters, Cathy Openshaw Bond and Claudia Openshaw, one niece and one
nephew. A graveside service will be held on Sat., March 26th at 2 p.m., at the
Memorial Estates Cemetery, at 3115 E. 7800 S. (Bengal Blvd) in Salt Lake City.
Following will be a luncheon at the Brighton Point Chapel, at 3455 E. 7800 S.
(Bengal Blvd).

Brown, Lois Sears
Lois Sears Brown 1911 ~ 2005 MANTI, UTAH - Lois Sears Brown, 93, of Manti,
Utah, passed away March 24, 2005 in Ephraim, Utah. She was born April 6, 1911
in Manti, Utah to George Lucian and Magnola Hougaard Sears. She married Don H.
Brown on May 25, 1941. He preceded her in death. She is survived by her
children, Sears (Armida) Brown, Las Vegas, NV; Dan Brown, Manti; and Vik
(Christie) Brown, Cedar City; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; parents; and two brothers.
Private graveside services and burial will be held on Saturday, March 26,
2005, at 11 a.m. in the Manti City Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby

Cervantes, Dina Ruth
Dina Ruth Cervantes 1951 ~ 2005 Dina Ruth Cervantes, Our Beloved Mother,
Sister and Wife. Born June 18, 1951, returned to our Heavenly Father March 21,
2005. Dina is survived by her beloved husband, Bernardo Cervantes and her four
children, Karen, Mahonri, Katia and Zeniff, as well as eight grandchildren.

Corbridge, Thayne W.
Thayne W. Corbridge Together Again LAYTON - Thayne W. Corbridge, 92, our
beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother passed away Tues.,
March 22, 2005. He was born July 17, 1912 in Smithfield, Utah the son of
Samuel Ray and Ruby Ellen Whitesides Corbridge. Thayne married Sarah Parker on
February 3, 1932 in the Salt Lake Temple. She preceded him in death on March
8, 2000. Thayne was a dairy farmer for many years. He then retired and worked
for Davis County Assessor's office. He was elected as Davis County Assessor
and served for 12 years retiring to serve a mission with his wife Sarah to
Rapid City So. Dakota Mission and to the Denver, Colorado Mission. Dad and mom
were always serving together; serving for nine years as Ordinance Workers in
the Ogden, Utah Temple. Dad served in the Layton 2nd Ward Bishopric. In his
younger years he was very involved with the Scouting program. Dad was a very
hard worker and taught his children to be hard workers as well. He very much
appreciated all the visits from family and friends over the years. Surviving
are his son, Vern (Linda) Corbridge, West Haven; three daughters, Karen (Jay)
Thurgood, Meridian, ID; Orell (Bill) Bindrup, Layton; Letha (Brent) Ogzewalla,
Centerville; 28 grandchildren, 78 great-grand-children, six
great-great-grand-children and brother, Mac (Jennie) Corbridge. Preceded in
death by his wife Sarah, parents, daughters, Gaylen, Lois Black, Janet
Olmstead, four grandsons, one granddaughter, sister, Afton Hatch Barber.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 26, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the
Layton South Stake, 505 S. 1000 W. Friends and family may call Friday from 6
to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Saturday
from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery. We

Hines, William Eugene "Bill"
Bill Hines 1924 ~ 2005 William Eugene Hines, 81, died Monday March 14, 2005 at
his home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Bill was the rare commodity, a Leap
Year baby. He was born Feb. 29, 1924 in Leavenworth, Kansas, but grew up in
Salt Lake City, Utah. When he graduated from East High School in 1942, all his
friends were enlisting in the military to fight in World War II. Tall and
thin, Bill tried to join the US Navy but was turned down because he was
underweight. A doctor told him to eat four pounds of bananas and drink a
gallon of milk. He did and barely met the weight requirements. In four years
of service, he was lucky enough never to be shipped overseas. He used to joke
that he had fought in the battle of San Diego. He was trained to teach
aircraft recognition. After the war, he was offered a job with the FBI, but he
heard airplane engines overhead and chose to become a small plane pilot and
salesman. In 1969, Bill was hired by McCulloch Aircraft as Western Regional
Sales Manager for the J-2 Gyroplane in Lake Havasu City. It was a dream job,
he loved it. He flew that plane to air shows all over the US and Canada in the
early 1970's. He said it was the most difficult plane he ever learned to fly.
The J-2 never quite made it into every garage, but Bill never lost his faith
in its potential. In 1974, McCulloch Aircraft was sold and newly divorced,
Bill moved to the San Jose, CA area, where he later became a partner in an
early cell phone brokerage. When he retired and moved back to Lake Havasu City
in 1993, he was disappointed that no one here seemed to remember or care about
the J-2 as part of the city's history and legacy. He was proud to be a member
of the Quiet Birdmen, a pilot organization. Bill Hines was a good guy.
Whatever he told you, you could take to the bank. He loved cats. His favorite
cat, Hobie, almost 18-years-old, had to be put to sleep just 10 days before
Bill died of a massive stroke. Bill was preceded in death by Laura Lewon Hines
(they were divorced.) They had two sons, Corey of Queen Creek, AZ; and Brett
of Mesa, AZ. Bill also has two brothers, Don, Salt Lake City; and Frank of
McAllen. TX. Bill was much loved by many friends and his companion of 20
years, Helen Mosbrook. There will be no services.

Holeman, Lawrence W.
Lawrence W. Holeman 1919 ~ 2005 Our beloved Larry died peacefully this
morning, March 24, 2005. He was born to John Isaac and Margaret Hyson Holeman
on November 30, 1919 in Emerson, Iowa. Dad was one of seven siblings, survived
by his sister, Margaret (Babe). Dad always told us stories about how he and
his brother, Ron, left home in their youth during the depression to ride the
rails to find work in Utah. He also told stories about how his mother left him
and his siblings in an orphanage, but changed her mind and returned to take
them home when she learned that all siblings would not be placed in one home
together. Married Florence G. Walters, later divorced. Larry and Flo had five
children, Sandra Barrett (deceased), Patricia Barney, Mary Jo Smith, Rebecca
Satterfield, and Larry Holeman Jr. Married Lucinda Brumfield, who survives
him. Dad loved the outdoors, particularly building and standing in front of a
huge camp fire (always with a cocktail in hand). His lifelong passions were
hunting and fishing, both in and out of season. Survived by his wife, Lucinda,
his four surviving children, his stepdaughters, Sherill, Peggy, Mikie, and
Bobbie Gail, 19 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. A special thank
you to grandson, Christopher, for his love and care. Predeceased by his
faithful pal, Penny. Family and friends may gather for a memorial observance
on Saturday, March 26, 2005, from 2-4 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500
South Redwood Road, West Jordan. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that

Kielsmeier, Irma S.
Irma S. Kielsmeier "Irmie" CENTERVILLE - Irma Leola Stamps Kielsmeier, 68,
passed away March 22, 2005. She was born November 3, 1936 in Albany, Georgia
to Paul and Evie Johnson Stamps. She grew up in Leesburg, Georgia and entered
the United States Air Force after high school where she met her eternal love,
Ralph Kielsmeier. They were married March 24, 1957. They were later sealed in
the Salt Lake Temple. She was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints, holding various positions. She was a wonderful, caring,
giving, thoughtful and spiritual person. Her sense of humor kept everyone
laughing and smiling. She is survived by her husband, Ralph, one daughter
Vicki, one son Gregory (Sherri); four grandchildren that she adored, Chad,
Kayla, Megan and Eastlin. Preceded in death by her father and mother. Funeral
services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, March 28, 2005 at the Briarwood Ward
Chapel, 950 N. Main, Centerville, Utah. Friends may call Sunday, March 27th
from 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. and 10-10:45

Killpack, Terry Joe
Terry Joe Killpack "Gone Digital" Terry Joe Killpack, 58, died on March 21,
2005 at his home after a three and a half year battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was born July 15, 1946 in Provo, Utah to Theron William and Ardis Gadd
Killpack. He married Dianne Partridge on Aug. 11, 1971. He served a full- time
mission in the Southeast Mexico Mission. He received his Bachelors Degree in
Physics from BYU and his Masters Degree in Geophysics from the U of U. Terry
worked many years in the CAD industry. He was a devoted servant of the Lord in
all his church callings. He had six computers and sure loved his Macs. We
enjoyed his storytelling and his great sense of humor. His family and the
Gospel were the most important things in his life. He is survived by his
devoted, loving, caring wife Dianne; children, Jennifer (Tyler) Anderson, Kip
(Kristin), Chad (Angie), Cory (Angela), and Natasha; four grandsons with two
grandchildren on the way; his mother Ardis; siblings Vicki (Al) Lee, Randy
(Stephanie), and Kim (Ruth). He was preceded in death by his father, Theron.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 26, at 11a.m. at Granite Sandy
South Stake, 2130 E. 10000 S., Sandy, where friends may call Friday 6 to 8
p.m. at the stake center and Saturday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services.

Larson, Roald O.
Roald O. Larson 1910 ~ 2005 Roald O. Larson passed away March 23, 2005 at home
in Salt Lake City. Born September 10, 1910 in Cleveland, Utah the fourth child
of Lars Peter and Nora Oveson Larson. The family moved to Salt Lake City in
1915. Married Helena Williams with whom he had three children - later
divorced. Married Dorothy Piatt in 1951. Retired from the Town Supply Company
in 1974 after 45 years in the automotive supply business. Member of The Church
of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In addition to his wife Dorothy he is
survived by son Michael (Julie Ann), Livermore California, and daughter Jolene
Froewiss (Ken), Short Hills, New Jersey; seven grandchildren; eight
great-grandchildren; and brother Lanol Larson. Preceded in death by parents;
daughter Laurelyn; brothers Eric and Bland and sisters Noral and Clovis.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, March 26, 2005 at 2 p.m. at
Mountain View Memorial 3115 East Bengal Blvd. (7800 South) friends and family
may call Saturday one hour prior to the services. No flowers. Contributions to

Lawson, Frederick R.
Frederick R. Lawson 1912 ~ 2005 Frederick R. Lawson, 92, died peacefully at
home in his sleep, March 21st, 2005, three days before his 93rd birthday, of
causes incident to age. Fred was born in Boston, Mass., March 24, 1912 to
Peter C. Lawson and Annie H. Lawson, nee Dickerman. He was raised in Boston
and attended and graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy and Princeton
University. In his youth he was an excellent hockey player in the winter and a
fine tennis player in the summer. In 1944 he married Janet Eccles Quinney.
When Fred was discharged as a Captain from the Army (Air Force Branch) he made
his home in Salt Lake City where he and Janet raised their three children. In
Salt Lake, Fred continued to enjoy tennis, and he exchanged his ice skates of
the hockey rink for skis on the slopes of Alta. He spent his working life at
First Security Bank where he served at various branches around the city. He
retired at age 65 and then spent several years living in Colorado Springs,
after which he returned to live in Salt Lake. Fred is survived by his two
sons, Frederick Q. Lawson and Peter Q. Lawson. His daughter Joanne Lawson
Shrontz predeceased him two years ago. Fred is also survived by nine
grandchildren whom he adored and was very proud of. The family would like to
extend personal thanks to Celeste, Sonia and Sumara for their wonderful care
and companionship of the past four years. Funeral services will be held at St
Mark's Cathedral, 231 East 100 South, Salt Lake City, Utah on Wednesday, March
30th at 2 p.m. There will be a reception at The Salt Lake Country Club (2400
S. 2300 E.) following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a
contribution to a charity of your choice.

Mudrow, Kurt Alfred
Kurt Alfred Mudrow "POP" 7/15/28 ~ 3/23/05 Kurt Alfred Mudrow, 76, passed away
March 23, unexpectedly, but peacefully of natural causes at his home in
Bountiful, Utah. He was born July 15, 1928 in Kruez, Pommern, Germany. He was
the son of Gustav and Emilie Henriette Jordan Mudrow. He married Dagmar Martha
Katherina Kossin on May 17, 1952 in Langen, Hessen, Germany. They immigrated
to Salt Lake City in 1954, where their marriage was solemnized in the Salt
Lake LDS Temple on January 21, 1955. Kurt was an avid scouter. He loved the
boys and served as cub master for 15 years. The Boy Scouts of America
recognized him for his service with the Silver Beehive. He was the inspiration
for his sons and grandsons to get their Eagle award. Kurt served four LDS
missions with his sweetheart, including serving in the Freiberg, Germany
Temple and the Bountiful, Utah, Temple. He always strived to live the
teachings of this faith and was a great example to us all. Kurt is survived by
Dagmar, his wife of 53 years; children: Oliver Mudrow, J. David Mudrow
(Valerie), Lorraine Conradi (Michael), and Raymond Mudrow (Laurie) and 13
grandchildren. His grandson Tyler is currently serving a mission in the
Jackson Mississippi Mission. He is also survived by his brother Helmut and a
sister Irmgard, and numerous other relatives. Funeral services will be Sat.,
March 26, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Bountiful Orchard Stake Center, 3599 S.
Orchard Dr., where friends may call from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to services.

Packard Jr., Lynn Rue
Lynn Rue Packard Jr. "Lynnie" Lynn Rue Packard Jr, age 58, passed away March
22, 2005 in Salt Lake City, Utah due to complications of surgery, after a long
battle with Diabetes. Lynnie was born June 20, 1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah,
son of Lynn Rue Packard Sr. and Jean Petersen Packard. He had an enjoyable
childhood and loved the hours spent in the company of his grandmother
Petersen. They played games and read together and she shared her zealous love
of reading. He lived most of his life in Granger/West Valley area. Graduated
from Granger High School and was involved in many activities. He had a
pleasant smile for everyone and was generous to those less fortunate then he.
He served an LDS mission in Los Angeles, California. He was the proprietor of
the Motor Valet Car Wash in West Valley City. He enjoyed fishing and the
association with many friends. Lynnie is survived by his mother; brother,
Michael (Charlene); nephew, Jacob; nieces Adrianne (Corby) Merchant, Erin
(Phillip) Harrison; and many extended family and friends. He is preceded in
death by his father and grandparents. He has returned to the loving embrace of
his grandmother. Lynnie, we hope you find love in your Father in Heaven's
presence and know you are free from your earthly turmoil's. The family would
like to thank the Midtown Manor for all the love and care of Lynnie. A viewing

Quinney, Lucius Manning
Lucius Manning Quinney "Lu" 1941 ~ 2005 Lu Quinney, age 64, passed away
peacefully at home in the early morning hours of March 20, 2005, after a long
battle with lung cancer. Born March 9, 1941 to Ted and Gene Manning Wilder, Lu
was later adopted by Gene's second husband, David Quinney, after her divorce
from Ted. Lu graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1963, with a
degree in political science and an officer's commission in the United States
Navy where he proudly served his country for the next six years including a
tour of duty in Vietnam aboard the USS Towers. Upon his discharge from the
Navy, Lu went on to establish Quinney & Associates, an independent city
planning and consultation firm in San Diego. He remained in this chosen career
untiI his retirement in 1989, though he always remained a Navy man at heart.
Lu married Amy Roberts in 1968 and they had two children together, Scott, 32
and Kathy, 29. They later divorced. In 1998, Lu met whom he would later refer
to as "the love of his life", Carolyn Douglas. They were married in 2001 and
enjoyed a wonderful, happy, adventurous four years together. Even through the
adversity of cancer, Lu and Carolyn brought renewed meaning to the phrase "In
sickness and in health". Lu Iived life to the fullest, even when he was so
very sick. With fierce independence, opinion and a quick, irreverent sense of
humor, he brought his special, optimistic brand of life to all who knew him.
For Lu, the glass was always half full! Lu belonged to many organizations in
San Diego reflecting his deep sense of community and service. They include the
Navy League, San Diego Chamber of Commerce, San Diego Sun Harbor Chorus,
Optimist Club of Point Loma, San Diego Maritime Museum, and as a tutor at the
Cabrillo Elementary School. Luis survived by his wife, Carolyn, children,
Scott and Kathy, Carolyn's children Donna and David who Lu adopted as his own;
brother, David; niece and nephew, Lee and "Deker" and uncountable friends and
associates, all of who have had their Iives enriched by having known Lu.
Memorial services will be held at the Torrey Pines Christian Church, 8320 La
Jolla Scenic Dr. North on Monday, March 28, at 1 p.m. Following, will be a
celebration of Lu's life at 2:30 p.m. aboard the Berkeley Ferry, 1492 Harbor
Dr. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to San Diego Hospice. Lu,
You lived the good life and fought the good fight. Now rest and awaken whole.

Smith, Alice Louise Trost
Alice Louise Trost Smith Beloved Mother & Grandmother Born January 27, 1923 in
Salt Lake City, Utah to Fredrick and Louise Schobert Trost. Married John
Maynard Smith in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on November 9, 1943. She was active
in the LDS church, serving in ward and stake positions. Teaching the children
in primary and singing in church choir. Her prized work was her family. She
loved and lived the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Survived by her three daughters:
Kathryn Alice Smith (Midvale); Louise Ellis Tunzi (Midvale); Christine Faith
Jackson (Salem, Oregon); 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Preceded
in death by husband, John Maynard; son, James, sister and brother. Funeral
services will be Monday, March 28th at 1 p.m. at the Midvale Utah Union Park
Stake Center, 7699 So. Chad St. (950 E.). Viewing 11 a.m. until 12:45 prior to

Thurber, Lynell
Lynell Thurber "Nelsie" Lynell was born in Pinetop, Arizona on February 2,
1977, the first child of her loving parents, Vance and Laraine (Larsen)
Thurber. She was born on Groundhog Day and sadly passed away in the presence
of her loving parents into the arms of her Heavenly Father on the first day of
spring. Lynell was a very bright and energetic child as an adolescent. She
suffered from some developmental delays in her preschool years and her parents
enrolled her in Jordan Valley School after she was diagnosed with Static
Encephalopathy Seizure disorder. Lynell attended this school facility until
she was 21 years old. John Gardner, Jordan Valley principal, and his
incredible staff provided 18 years of very dedicated care, love and service to
our precious "Nelsie." After Lynell graduated from Jordan Valley School she
remained under the constant care and supervision of her dedicated parents,
brother, Andy, as well as several members of our extended family. Before the
seizure disorder took away most of Lynell's physical and mental abilities she
was a very loving, caring, mischievous, little girl. She and her brother,
Andy, were great playmates, with Andy getting most of the teasing and
tormenting, which is common for most little brothers. "Nelsie" had a
personality and a "twinkle" in her eye that would immediately win over
everyone around her, even though she could not communicate verbally. People
often commented on how they could feel her spirit and the love that surrounded
her each time they interacted with her. Lynell was stricken with a severe case
of pneumonia and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit at Alta View Hospital on
March 16th. Her condition deteriorated throughout the week until it was
obvious that she had no chance of recovery. As a family, we would like to give
our sincere thanks and express love to each nurse in the ICU who helped make
the last days of Lynell's life so comfortable and well cared for; God bless
you; you guys are awesome!! Lynell was preceded in death by her grandparents,
Ez and LeVon Thurber of St. Johns, AZ and Andrew Larsen and Vera Carter of
Genola, UT. She is survived by her parents, Vance and Laraine Thurber, her
brother, Andrew Thurber and his wife, Elizabeth "Tizzy." Lynell is also
survived by a large extended family, on both on the Larsen and Thurber sides.
She is survived by many uncles, aunts, and cousins who all loved and cherished

public visitation will be held Saturday, March 26, from 1 - 2:30 p.m. at
Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 E. 10600 S., Sandy. A private family

Tomlin, Maurine Gunn
Maurine Gunn Tomlin 1920 ~ 2005 Maurine Gunn Tomlin, 84, died at her home
March 23, 2005. She was born December 7, 1920 in Devil's Slide, Utah, daughter
of John Oral and Thelma Jane Wilde Gunn. Attended grade school in Devil's
Slide, Salt Lake City, Lincoln Jr. High and graduated from South High School
in 1937. Attended LDS Business College. Married Deel Fowles Tomlin August 18,
1941 in the Salt Lake Temple. She worked in the Morning Report and finance
sections at Camp Kearns during World War II. She was an active member of the
Hunter 18th Ward and held many Relief Society positions in the stake and ward.
She enjoyed quilting, sewing, tinting pictures, and most of all, her family
and friends. Survived by husband, Deel; sons, Kenneth O. (Sharleen), Tomlin,
Spring, TX; Brent Edward (Julie) Tomlin, West Bountiful; stepson, Bishop Mark
D. (Jean) Smith, Salt Lake City; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grand-children.
Preceded in death by parents; sister, Valeen Gunn Cushing. The family would
like to express a special thanks to Dr. Newman, Alane Day, Valerie
Poltoratzsky, Stephanie Gardner and James Ondricek, at Rocky Mountain Hospice,
for their loving care of Maurine. Funeral service will be held Saturday, 12:00
noon at the Hunter 18th Ward, 3737 South 5600 West. A viewing will be held
Friday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and
Saturday at the church, 10:30-11:45 a.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.

Woodward, Thelma LaVaughn
Thelma LaVaughn Woodward "Grama Woody" Thelma LaVaughn Woodward passed away
quietly in her sleep on March 22, 2005 in her home at the age of 88. She was
born July 20, 1916 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Roy and Evelyn Ida Kelly Cahoon.
Thelma was married to Russell George Woodward. She attended the University of
Utah and was the past President of the Rebekah Assembly of Utah. She was
employed for 35 years at Mountain Bell and was retired. Grama loved her family
and was very independent and will be missed dearly. She is survived by her
sons, Lloyd, Lynn (Dana), and Ted (Lynda); her grand and great-grandchildren,
and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Woodward;
and her eldest son, Dennis. Close family will meet at 9 a.m. on Sat., March
26, 2005, at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, Midvale. Friends may call at 9:30
a.m. and a short service will follow at 10:30 a.m. Family and friends may
follow to Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery for a graveside gathering at 1950 E.
10600 S. in Sandy.
