Alcorn, Jared R.
Jared R. Alcorn "Shaggy" Our beloved son, Jared R. Alcorn died tragically on
April 30, 2005. Born Dec. 9, 1983, son of Wendell Alcorn and Patricia
Martinez. Jared was fun, loving, energetic and vibrant. He had many friends
and could win you over with his smile, easy going attitude and humor. His
friendship was treasured by many and will be missed. He loved basketball,
music and riding wave runners. He attended West Lake Jr. High and Granger High
School. He was employed in construction doing concrete foundations and
painting part time. He was known as a very hard worker. He enjoyed being with
family and friends and was dearly loved by his sister and younger brothers.
Preceded in death by his Grandfather Rupert and Uncle Earl. Survived by
parents Wendell and Carolyn Alcorn, Patricia and Craig Winkelkotter, sister
Kristi (Darren) Atkinson, brothers Kyle, Brandon and Josh, nieces Aishia and
Tiffany, nephews Ashton and Cody, grandparents Wendell Sr. and Jean Alcorn,
Kathryn Williams, Sarah Martinez and Bob and Ellen Winkelkotter and many
aunts, uncles and cousins. Many thanks to the Staff at the University Hospital
- Neuro Critical Care for the loving care and support shown for our son and
family. Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in the Granger
6th Ward, 3274 So. Hillsdale Dr. (2760 W.) where friends may call from 9:30 to

Bacca, DeeAnn
DeeAnn Bacca Earth Angel The angel's from above came and took our beloved
wife, mother, sister and best friend May 1, 2005 after a courageous battle
with cancer. She was a very loving mother and wife who loved taking care of
her family. Dee enjoyed entertaining her friends and family, and doing service
work for her friends of Bill W. She attended Valley Assembly of God Church.
She worked at UPS for ten years, where she made many friends whom she will
miss. Dee is survived by her husband Troy Bacca, son Kip Bacca, as well as
Bongie and Josh Maestas; siblings Jenney, Stormy, Teresa, and Kimberley; as
well as her grandkids. She was preceded in death by her mother, Darlene and
brother, Wade. A viewing will be held Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at Larkin
Mortuary, 260 East South Temple from 4 - 5 p.m. A memorial service will take
place on Thursday, May 5 at 2 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 East
1300 South.

Beardall, Dawn Duffin
Dawn Duffin Beardall 1916 ~ 2005 Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and
friend, Dawn Duffin Beardall, 89, passed away May 1, 2005. Dawn was born March
3, 1916, in Logan, Utah, to Clarence Duffin and Jennie Barlow Duffin. She
married John Woodville Beardall on June 19, 1935, in the Salt Lake Temple. He
passed away June 8, 1997. Dawn spent a lifetime serving others. She was a
homemaker, a librarian at the Scera Park Elementary School in Orem for 16
years, and taught piano lessons for over 25 years. She was active in the LDS
Church; even up to the end, doing extraction work in her home and serving as a
visiting teacher supervisor. She taught in Primary, Mutual and Relief Society
and also served as Primary and Relief Society President. She was also a ward
librarian for eight years. She belonged to the Alethian Club in Salt Lake City
and Paideia Sorosis in the Provo-Orem area. Her hobbies were genealogy,
reading, and making quilts and afghans. She is survived by her children, W.
Lee Beardall, Carol (Jerry) Billings, Bonnie Wright, and William C. (Sheryl)
Beardall, 18 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, with one more expected
soon. She is also survived by brothers and sisters, Allese (Paul) Vestigo, C.
Harlow (Marjorie) Duffin, B. Keith Duffin, G. Richard (Betty) Duffin, and
Sharol (Grant) Wilson. She was preceded in death by her husband Woodie, son
David, parents, Clarence and Jennie Duffin, brother, Robert B. Duffin, two
grandsons, Jeffrey Brey and Mark Brey, one great-granddaughter, Vanessa Wright
and sister-in-law, Ruth Duffin. Special thanks is extended to her friends and
neighbors in Orem, Maria Moon for loving home care over the years, and the
caring staff at Care Source of Salt Lake City in her final days. Funeral
services will be held Thursday, May 5, 2005, at 11 a.m. at the Sharon 2nd Ward
Chapel, 641 South 400 East Orem, Utah. A viewing will be held Wednesday
evening from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home at 646 East 800
North and 9:45 to 10:45 prior to the services at the church. Interment will be

Bessinger, Max
Max Bessinger 1943 ~ 2005 KAYVILLE, UTAH - Max Bessinger, 61, a great man
passed away due to a heart attack on a beautiful Sunday morning, May 1, 2005.
Max was born December 16, 1943 in Tremonton, Utah. He was the son of the late
Albert Bessinger, Jr. and Faye Beth Holland Bessinger. Max married Mary Susan
Barlow of Clearfield, Utah on December 4, 1968 in the Salt Lake Temple. He
attended Bear River High School and graduated from Utah State University in
1971 with his MBA. He served a LDS mission to London England from 1962 to
1964. He spent a year at Fort Dix, New Jersey before he served in Vietnam
during 1970 and 1971. Max was an active member of the LDS church and served
faithfully in his church positions. He loved to hunt, fish, and play sports.
Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and
grandchildren. Max is survived by his wife of 36 1/2 years, Mary Susan
Bessinger; children Emily (Phil) Neuenswander of Las Vegas, NV, Becky
(Spencer) Nielsen of Sterling, VA, Chad (Tenaya) Bessinger of North Salt Lake,
Amanda (Ryan) Nybo, Kaysville, and Mickey (Mio) Bessinger of Bountiful, UT;
grandchildren Natalie Neuenswander, Nicole Neuenswander, Sarah Jane Nielsen,
Amanda Nielsen, Eliza Nielsen, Cohen Bessinger, Elisa Bessinger; mother Faye
Beth Holland Bessinger Larsen of Brigham City; siblings Richard (Karen)
Bessinger, Hightop, AZ, Robert (Kathy) Bessinger of Honeyville, UT, and Garry
(Pat) Bessinger of Preston, ID. Preceded in death by his father Albert
Bessinger, Jr. and brothers Clyde and Dennis Wayne. Funeral services will be

Burningham, Joshua David
Joshua David Burningham 1982 ~ 2005 Josh passed away peacefully in his sleep
on April 30, 2005. Josh loved sports and was a huge Yankees fan. He was "born
with a ball in his hands". He had a keen sense of humor and an infectious
laugh. He was always trying to make others happy. Josh loved children and will
be deeply missed by his nieces and nephews. Josh, we will miss you so much and
will never forget your special spirit. We are grateful to Heavenly Father for
the chance to have you for these short 22 years. We thank you for your good
example to us. Jade, your brother and very best friend, will miss having his
other half around. Josh, you were our miracle baby and touched everyone's
heart. Josh was born in Roosevelt, Utah on July 14, 1982 to L. David
Burningham and Janice (Burningham) Denkers. He is survived by his parents,
Dave, Jan and Bill; brothers and sisters, Danielle (Aaron), Nathan (Lindsey),
Brittini, Jade, Jordan, Jennifer, Candace and Jared (Tangie); four nieces and

Bonnie Ellen Crus 3/22/47 ~ 5/3/03 THE BROKEN CHAIN We little knew that
morning, God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, In
death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, You did not go alone,
For part us went with you, The day God called you home. You, left us beautiful
memories, Your love is still our guide, And thought we cannot see you, You are
always by our side. Our family chain is broken, And nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one, The chain will link again Mom, We miss you
more than words can say. We think about you each and every day. You hold a
very special place in each one of our hearts. Your love and kindness will

Davis, Phyllis
Phyllis Davis 1935 ~ 2005 Phyllis Maureen Waite Davis, dearly loved wife,
mother, step-mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend,
passed away on May 2, 2005 at the age of 69. She was born on October 15, 1935
to Winifred Tetley and George Waite in Los Angeles, California. Phyllis was
raised and lived in southern California until she moved to Bountiful, Utah
with her family in 1968. In 1995 she moved to St. George, Utah and resided
there until she returned to northern Utah and settled in Syracuse in 2002. She
is survived by her husband of 31 years, Keith Joseph Davis; children Carrie
Hall, John (Michelle) Hall, Scott (Jane) Hall, Kelley (Kathy) Hall, and Chad
(Jennifer) Davis; step-children Keith (Cheryl) Davis, David Davis, Steven
Davis, John (Sue) Davis, James (Celia) Davis, Alan Davis, Gary (Wendy) Davis,
and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister Gladys Overson; and
niece Connie Powell. Preceded in death by her parents and nephew Donald
Overson. Funeral services will be held, Thursday, May 5, at 10:00 a.m. at
Country Crossing LDS Ward Chapel, 1285 South 2500 West, Syracuse, Utah. A
viewing for family and friends will be one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be at the Lake View Memorial Cemetary,1640 East Lakeview Blvd.,
Bountiful, Utah. Our heartfelt thanks and appreciation go to the many family
members, friends, neighbors, and Hospice workers who showed so much tender
care and concern.

Margaret R. Fraser 1916 ~ 2005 Margaret R. Fraser, 89 passed away peacefully
at her home April 29, 2005 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born March 25,
1916 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was predeceased by her husband Russell Simon
Fraser and is survived by her loving sister Frances Jane Riley, of Salt Lake
City. Margaret loved the beauties of nature and was a member of Natural
Resources Defense Council (NRDC). Graveside funeral services will be held
Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. at Salt Lake City Cemetery. In lieu of

Frye, Robert Eugene
Robert Eugene Frye "Sonny" 1934 ~ 2005 Robert Frye died May 1, 2005 after a
long illness. He was born October 3, 1934 to Cecil and Arlow Frye in Lander,
WY. He attended the School for the Deaf in Ogden, Utah. He enjoyed fishing,
hunting and camping and being with family and friends. He is survived by four
siblings, Dolly Loghry of Riverton, WY; Gerald, Jerry and Barlow of
California; five children, Arlow, Danny, Larry (Linda), Dave (Toni), and
Roger; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by
sister, Mary; brother, Dennis; and son, Boyd. Funeral services will be held
Wednesday, May 4th, 12:00 noon in Lander, Wyoming at Hudson Funeral Home, 680
Mount Hope Drive. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services.

Hill, Anne
Anne Hill 1943 ~ 2005 Our beloved wife, mother, sister, and aunt, Anne Hill,
age 61, died April 30, 2005 at her home in West Valley City. She was born May
26, 1943 in Dibbel, Lebanon to Samuel and Mariam Howa. Anne came to the US
with her family at the age of three. She married Stephen Wayne Hill on October
12, 1963 in Salt Lake City and during the course of their 41 year marriage had
three children. She was employed with the Granite School District for 23 years
where she enjoyed serving the countless children in her care everyday until
her retirement in July of 2003. Anne enjoyed cooking, watching old movies, and
spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband, Stephen; three
children, Connie, David, and Debbie; three brothers, George, Ray, and Fred,
all of Salt Lake City; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in
death by her father and mother, Samuel and Mariam, and three brothers, Abe,
Ronnie, and Michael. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 12 Noon at
Neil O'Donnell and Sons Mortuary, 372 East 100 South. Committal, Mt. Calvary
Catholic Cemetery, 4th Avenue and T Street. Words cannot express how much she
was loved and how much she will be missed. "We Love you mom."

Hurdsman, Darlene Ruth
Darlene Ruth Hurdsman (Abramowski) Our beloved wife, mother, nana, sister,
auntie, and friend passed from the loving arms of her husband into those of
her Savior April 30, 2005. Darlene Ruth Abramowski Hurdsman, 61, endured many
years with numerous illnesses. She is finally relieved of all her pain and
suffering. She loved her family with all her heart. Her favorite thing to do
was spend time with her family and grandchildren. She was a very compassionate
person, often giving all that she had before thinking of herself. She was born
on May 28, 1943, in Southgate, CA, to Kurt Emil and Wilhelmina Giesewski
Abramowski. Little sister to Sigrid (Ward) Davis, Rodney (Marci) Abramowski,
and Rita (Robert) Walgren. Married Joseph Earl Hurdsman on January 26, 1968,
in the St. George LDS temple. Loving mother to five children: Kristin,
Jennifer (Shane), Julie (Brian), Kurt (Angie), and Kevin (Jodi). Proud nana to
seven grandsons and two granddaughters. Auntie to many nieces and nephews.
Friend to all. Preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law JoAnne
Abramowski. Darlene was an active member of the LDS Church, having served over
22 years in the Primary and also served as Relief Society President. She was
an excellent teacher whose lessons will be long remembered. She had a strong
testimony and a mountain of faith. She felt her greatest and most important
accomplishment in life was that all five of her children had been through the
temple and are active in church. We wish to thank the family of Brooke Graviet
for their generous donation of their daughter's liver so our mother could be
with us an additional seven years. We'd also like to thank the staff at the
LDS Hospital Transplant Clinic for helping keep her alive so long. Family and
friends are invited to attend a viewing to be held on Friday, May 6th at
Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 So.) South
Jordan, Utah, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 7th at
the LDS Hunter 27th Ward building, located at 4980 West 3285 South, West
Valley, Utah at 11 a.m., with visitation from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Interment to
follow at Richfield Cemetery, Richfield, Utah. Mom, we love you. You're

Jensen, Bernice B.
Bernice B. Jensen "Nana" Our beloved mother, grandmother, and
great-grandmother, Bernice Burton Jensen, age 88, passed away May 1, 2005 in
Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born in Clear Creek, Utah on March 7, 1917 to
Otto F. Burton and Mary Evelyn Thorpe. She married M. Duane Jensen on June 15,
1938. Later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They enjoyed 65 wonderful
years together before his passing in June of 2003. She often reminisced about
her happy childhood and her love of tap, ballet and acrobatics. She could even
be found turning cartwheels well into her "senior years". She loved to use her
mind and keep busy. In early years, she worked as an elementary school
secretary and then as a sales clerk for Keith O'Brien. Then she took on the
roll as Vice president of Laundry Supply Company where she worked along side
her husband. She took great pride in the successful business they owned and
operated. They also loved camping, fishing and traveling. In later years they
enjoyed spending winters in San Diego. They cherished the many friendships
they made on these outings. Family times were very important to Bernice.
Backyard barbeques, swimming parties and holiday dinners were always special
occasions at her home. These times together have provided many great memories
for her family. "Thank you Grandma and we love you." She is preceded in death
by her parents, husband, brother Joe T. Burton and daughters Gayle Jensen
Reaveley and Kathleen Jensen Paull. Survived by her son Robert D. Jensen,
grandchildren Kenneth (Rochelle) Reaveley, Craig (Deniece) Reaveley, Julee
(Mike) Snarr, Lisa (Bryan) Kenney, Erik (Cindy) Reaveley, Christopher Paull,
Stefani Paull, and 13 great-grandchildren. Viewing will be held Wednesday, May
4, 2005 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Dr. Private
family services will be held at a later date. Interment will be held in
Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.

Johnson, Mable A.
Mable A. Johnson 2/19/20 ~ 4/29/05 Mable left the earth on April 29, 2005 to
start a new life with those she loved who have gone before her. Born February
19, 1920 to Charles Thomas and Sophia P. Allgier Ashley, five sisters and two
brothers. Raised in Salt Lake City, Utah where she graduated from South High
School. Mable married Fred C. Johnson Sr. on July 16, 1935 and to them were
born 13 children. She was a dedicated mother to be loved and admired as well
as a grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. Along with
her domestic career, she was employed outside the home throughout the years.
Retired in 1978 with her husband and moved back to Utah. She was a member of
the LDS church. Preceded in death by her son, Fred C. Johnson, Jr. and
husband, Fred C. Johnson, Sr. Services celebrating Mable's life will be held
at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 S. Redwood Road, West Jordan, on Wednesday,
May 4, 2005 At 11:00 a.m. Family and friends may call at the funeral home,
same address, the night before from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on
Wednesday.

Kuepper, Paul
Paul H. Kuepper 1904 ~ 2005 Saying goodbye to our dear Dad, grandfather, and
great-grandfather until we meet again. Dad was born in Essen, Germany on
September 28, 1904. He passed away in his sleep on April 30, 2005 at the age
of 100 in Durango, Colorado. He married Ella Wittenberg in November of 1928 in
Germany. Paul and family immigrated to America in 1951. Their marriage was
solemnized one year later in the Salt Lake Temple. His wife Ella died in 1968
of cancer. Dad then married Regina Anna Kirschner. She passed away in 2001.
Dad was very active in the LDS church where he held many positions and stayed
true to the faith. Paul is survived by daughter Ingrid, son Rolf (Cindy),
stepdaughter Helga, brother John H. Kuepper, eight grandchildren,12
great-grandchildren A special thanks to Sunshine Gardens and the Hilger family
in Durango. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday the 4th at
Redwood Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road with a family gathering at 9:30 at
the mortuary.

Mabey, Ruth Agnes Bain
Ruth Agnes Bain Mabey 1924 ~ 2005 Our beloved mother, grandmother, great
grandmother and friend returned to the arms of her loving parents and heavenly
home April 30, 2005. She was born July 17, 1924 in Salt Lake City to Daniel
William and Cecelia Troxler Bain. Graduated from South High School in 1942.
Married Edward Leo Mabey Sr. May 14, 1945 later solemnized in Salt Lake
Temple; later divorced. For the past 12 years she has enjoyed the
companionship of her dear friend Fred M. Johnsen. Ruth was a bank teller for
the National Reserve Bank during the war, a secretary for Aerotech, Universal
Grinding, Skaggs and Bailey Beauty Supply. She was a Relief Society secretary,
chorister and cooking specialist for Homemaking meetings, Sunday School
teacher, Stake stenographer, Visiting Teacher and Stake name extractor for The
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Holladay and Bountiful. She
loved her family and enjoyed her precious grandchildren and great-
grandchildren; all of whom referred to her tenderly as "Grandma Great". She
was very pleased to be of Scottish heritage and enjoyed her visit to Scotland,
a dream come true. We will always love and fondly remember her beautiful
smile, quick wit and contagious laugh. Preceded in death by her parents, two
sisters, four brothers and great grandson, Jarom Jason Farr. Survived by three
daughters Kerrie Lee Heaton (Lamoine), Charlene Farr (Jerry), Laurie Ann
deJong (Dan) and two sons Edward Leo "Ted" Mabey Jr. (Juli) and Richard
William "Rick" Mabey (Camille). She leaves behind 15 grandchildren and 22
great-grand-children. She will be missed by her loving family and friends.

Martin, Annette C.
Annette C. Martin 1955 ~ 2005 Our beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt and
friend, Annette, passed away April 29, 2005 surrounded by her loving family
after a courageous battle with a devastating illness. She was born August 12,
1955 to Thomas Keith and Thurza Vance Christensen in Salt Lake City, Utah. She
married her high school sweetheart, William G. Martin, on August 30, 1974 in
Salt Lake City. Marriage later solemnized in the Manti Temple. Netty was a
faithful member of the LDS Church serving in the Primary, Relief Society, and
Scouting program (earning her Wood Badge). She provided loving child care for
many families over 15 years. Her interests included Grizzlies hockey,
needlework, movies, music, and attending the temple. Survived by husband;
children, Keith, Stephanie, and Michael; brothers and sister, David (Violeta),
Bruce (Carolyn), Jill (Bob) Stewart, Tom (Cindy); brother-in-law Sam (Carol)
Loftin; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents;
brother, Dale; and sister, Linda Loftin. Funeral services will be held at
noon, Wednesday May 4 at the Salt Lake Canyon Rim Stake Center (3051 South
2900 East). Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 3 at Larkin Mortuary
(260 East South Temple) and from 10:45 - 11:45 a.m. at the Stake Center prior

Mary E. May 1922 ~ 2005 "Always a Lady" Our dear sweet mom, grandma and
friend, Mary E. May, passed into the loving arms of our Lord Savior Jesus
Christ, on April 26, 2005. Born Feb. 15, 1922 in Oakland, CA to Nickolas
Anastasopoulas and Mabel Hazell. Graduated from UC Berkley as a Registered
Nurse with a degree in Science. While obtaining her degree, mom met dad- a
young Marine ready to be shipped off to defend our Country. For three years
mom faithfully wrote to dad and on Oct. 22, 1945 they married at Grace
Cathedral in San Francisco. As an extremely devoted wife, mom played a very
important role in the success of the family business of May Foundry and
Machine Co. "Standing by her man" through many adventures of flying, sailing,
traveling, camping and building, many memories and stories were created. Some
of moms many involvements include: Mispah Chapter 5, O.E.S., Assistance
League- where she was very instrumental in self-breast exam awareness, "Golden
Girl" of P.E.O. Chapter R and Charter member of the dance club Hi-Steppers.
Dad's been waiting since March 13, 2005 for a dance with his partner - dance
on mom and dad - you're "Unforgettable". Mom, you've been a wonderful person,
friend and mom - I love you, you're the best! Thanks to all who have loved and
helped my mom and family, especially over the last nine months. Survived by:
son Mark (Nancy), daughter Sharon (Rondo) Biggs; grandchildren Mike, Danielle,
Ashley and Alex May, RJ and Nicki Biggs. Graveside services will be held at
Mount Olivet Cemetery, 1342 E. 500 S. Tuesday, May 3, at 11:00 a.m. A

Dorothy Patterson McGowan 1930 ~ 2005 MAGNA- Our beloved mother, grandmother,
and friend, Dorothy Mae Patterson McGowan, left to be with her husband April
30, 2005. She was born March 23, 1930 in Fort Worth, TX to James and Goldie
Sweaney Patterson, and raised in Oklahoma. She married the love of her life,
Ralph F. McGowan August 29, 1947; he died January 18, 2002. She was an active
member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time with her
grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survived by her children, Michael
McGowan, Gary McGowan, and Debra Simmons; six grandchildren, Kristen (Dallas)
Urie, Matthew, Brandi, Holly, Ben (Chelley), and Christopher; four
great-grand-children; and many friends at the VFW. Graveside services will be
held 12 noon Thursday, May 5, 2005 at the Utah Veterans Memorial Park, 17111

Milburn, Liane Anita Manwaring
Liane Anita Manwaring Milburn 11/9/18 ~ 4/24/05 Liane passed away in her home
in Visalia, California of natural causes at the age 86. She was born in
Sedgewick, Kansas to Eva Cottam Manwaring and George Ross Manwaring. She
married James Douglas Milburn October 25, 1937 in Salt Lake City, Utah. They
later divorced. She was a devoted daughter. She cared for her younger sisters,
to help her widowed mother. She grew up in Salt Lake City and graduated from
West High School. She was a gifted artist, a fine seamstress and a
perfectionist in all she did. She worked many years in the electronics
industry. Liane was loving, wise, kind, tolerant, and honest. She instilled
those values in the four children she left behind. Survivors are: Penny
Spencer (Wayne), Lynne Gibson (Gary), Jadine Steadman (Allen) and Bruce
Milburn (Marilyn); two sisters Louise Roth, and Norine (Myrtle) Ben Baird, a
brother George Raymond (Bus) Manwaring. She was blessed with 11 grandchildren,
19 great-grandchild-ren and two great-great-grand-children. She was preceded
in death by her parents, her sisters Margo Larson, Marian Pettersson, Marie
and Maude Scott, a brother George Scott and her former husband. Graveside
services will be held May 4, 10 a.m. at the Salt Lake City Cemetery at 4th Ave
and N St.

Moore, Ann
Ann Moore Will Be Missed Loving mother, grandmother, great- grandmother and
friend, went home to be with Jesus on May 1st, 2005. She is survived by three
children: Mitch Moore, Lance Moore and Dawn McLaren, six grandchildren and 10
great-grandchildren. She was a faithful follower of Jesus and a member of
Valley Assembly of God, where she loved to greet people and welcome them with
hugs and a church bulletin. She will be missed. There will be a memorial
service held at Valley Assembly, 3818 W. 4700 S. on Wednesday, May 4th at
11:00 a.m.

Sylvia Ann Christensen Pead 1934 ~ 2005 Sylvia Ann Pead, age 70, returned to
our Heavenly Father on Saturday, April 30, 2005 at her home with loved ones
around her. She was a great-grandma, grandma, mother, wife and sister. Sylvia
was born in Santa Monica California to Marvin and Dorothy Christensen,
step-mom Georgia. She married Fredrick Delos Pead on April 8, 1955. They had
four children: DeeAnn, Will (Carol) Pead, Don (Shelli) Pead, Brenda Jean
(Steve) Davies. She has six brothers: Gary, Farrell, Gail, Dan, Lee, Glen and
two sisters: Dorothy Jean and Marva Dawn, seven grandchildren and four
beautiful great-granddaughters whom she loved and cherished very much. Sylvia
was a nurse for 20 some odd years. She always put everybody's needs before
hers. She is preceded in death by her husband and daughter. She will be deeply
missed. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2005 at 12:00 noon
in the Winchester Ward, 6300 South 700 West, Murray. Friends may call

Pickett, Sharlynn Allen
Sharlynn Allen Pickett 1944 ~ 2005 Sharlynn Allen Pickett, loving wife and
grandmother, left this earth on Thursday, April 28, 2005 at the age of 61. Her
loving husband, John was at her side. Sharlynn was born of February 15, 1944
to Johnny (Haywood) Allen, Jr. and Ruby Dalton in Salt Lake City, Utah. Later,
she lived in Louisiana before returning home to Utah where she met the love of
her life, John. She married John Donald Pickett on November 1, 1997. She
always considered this day to be the greatest in her life, when she got the
family she always wanted. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake City
Temple in November 18, 1999. She loved working with her hands, making crafts
and was a talented painter, earning prestigious awards for her artwork.
Sharlynn had a powerful, unwavering faith in the Lord as was very active in
the LDS church, holding many positions in the Relief Society. Her faith was a
constant comfort to her in her life. She is survived by her husband, John of
Salt Lake City; grandchildren, Jamie (Jamie) Creekmore, Kory (Brett) Ellis,
and six great-grandchildren, all of Grantsville; and brothers, Paul and
Richard. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Lynn Allen.
Graveside services will be held on Tues., May 3, 2005 at 1 p.m. at Lake Hills
Cemetery, 10055 S. State St. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services
at the mortuary, same location. Though your tired body rests, your vibrant

Dorothy Anne Stahl Roberts "Native New Yorker" Dorothy "Dot of the Desert"
Roberts passed away peacefully in her sleep on 29 April 2005. Born on 29 March
1932 in Brooklyn, New York. Married Fred C. Roberts, later divorced. Mom is
survived by children, Melanie (Allen) Lahman, Phoenix Roberts, Sharon
(Jeffrey) Savage, and Chris (Shanna) Roberts; grandchildren, Jennifer Galati,
Anna, Alexander and Matthew Stoddard, Hether, Melanie, and Amy Lahman, and
Rachel Roberts; sister, Ruth S. Baker; nephew, Robert Baker; and nieces
Victoria and Karin Stahl. Mom was gifted with love for others, a joyful heart
and a great sense of humor. She was devoted to her Savior and longed to be
reunited with her beloved parents and older brother, Edmund Stahl, and her
nephew, Matthew Stahl. Mom insisted that we were not to mope around after her
passing. We're having a party at Hillcrest 5th Ward, 915 E. Peach Blossom Dr.
(9355 So), Sandy, Utah, Thursday, 5 May 2005, at 11 a.m. Dedication of the
grave will be at 3 that afternoon at the Spanish Fork Cemetery. The family
especially wishes to thank Mom's dear friend, Bertha Carter, for years of
extraordinary friendship.

Marjorie E. Wittenbach Morgan Searle "Elegant Lady" Marjorie passed away April
29, 2005. She was born July 25, 1920 to Fredrick and Ruby Wittenbach in Bern,
Kansas. She married and was preceded in death by Wayne Beckstead Morgan, Al
Searle, and her special companion and friend, John J. Olsen. She was a very
special lady who loved and was loved by everyone. She had a strong active
faith in the LDS church. She was always very thoughtful and inspired and cared
for others. She loved writing, reading, homemaking, traveling, bingo, and
spending time with friends and family. Her greatest love was spent researching
her family genealogy and history. She will be deeply missed by all of us.
Survived by three children, Sharron Rino (Frankie), Midge Morgan (Craig),
Wayne Morgan; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and her siblings,
Floyd Wittenbach (Zela) and Mavis Marsh. Preceded in death by her parents;
husbands; brothers, grandson, Travis Shane McDermaid; and daughter, Waynette
Willits. A special thanks to Mt. Olympus Senior Citizens Center and Murray
Heritage Center for their kindness and friendship. Funeral services will be

Shelley in 1975. Member of the L.D.S. church, served many callings, Sunday
school, M.I.A., Relief Society. Worked for Prudential Federal Savings, retired
from Metropolitan Water District of Salt Lake City. Active member of A.O.W.P
and Credit Women International. Everyone she met she considered a good friend,
and she was a friend to all. Survived by niece Sharon L. Day, nephew Richard
S. Davis, grandnieces, grandnephews, step-daughter Patricia L Peterson,
step-grandchildren: Christine, Beverly, Joanne, Edward and Mark. Preceded in
death by husband, Clarence on Feb. 5, 1989; son, Craig G. Coburn; sister
Dallas, and step grand-daughter Kathleen. A celebration of life will be held

Stephens, Marian Baird Ballard
Marian Baird Ballard Stephens 1927 ~ 2005 Our beautiful mother left us May
2nd, after sinking into the depths of Alzheimer's. We began to miss mom
several years ago, and it was hard losing her friendship and recognition, but
she always let us know through her brilliant smile and her shining eyes how
much she loved us. After graduating from South High, Mom married our dad Don
Ballard after World War II ended. They divorced 18 years later. She married
Steve Stephens, and they divorced after 13 years. Later, she was fortunate to
find Jesse Carter, an old high school friend who became the love of her life
45 years later. She was an ace at the comptometer, and she used to dazzle
those she worked with her amazing speed at adding numbers. She worked at
Mountain Bell, Penny's, Williamson's Truck Equipment, and Utah Power. Mom was
a vivacious, laughing, kind, caring, hard working, and supportive person. She
was a member of the LDS Church. She loved decorating her home, redoing each
room at least four times. She also loved organizing containers, As the World
Turns, dolls, ice cream, golf, pets, knitting, high-heeled shoes, dancing, and
music - which she played loud! She had every Frank Sinatra Song ever recorded.
Although we have had seven years to prepare for this day, it breaks our heart
to lose her. She is survived by her children Brad (Michelle), and Nancy
(Brent); grandchildren Jessie, Jordin, and River; sister Sharen (Reuben)
Lambert, several nieces and nephews, and Jesse Carter. Preceded in death by
parents, Floyd and Mildred Baird, sisters Ida Strong and Dorothy Jacketta and
niece Kaylynn. Thanks to wonderful Silverado Care Center for all their
kindness. Mom always loved flowers, but a donation to the Alzheimer's
Association would be nice too. Graveside service will be held Thursday 3 p.m.

Stribakos, Nicholas George
Nicholas George Stribakos "Beloved Son, Brother" Nick Stribakos passed away on
April 30, 2005. Born January 8, 1981 to Gus and Kathy Stribakos in Salt Lake
City. Nick's death will leave a void in every life he touched. He was as kind
and generous a spirit as ever walked this earth. Nick graduated from Valley
High School in 1999 and was working in shipping/receiving at the time of his
death. His interests included skiing, bowling, billiards and a passion for
music and songwriting. He had a large circle of friends and an abiding love
for his longtime companion Ashly Rich. Nick was preceded in death by his
grandfathers, George Stribakos and Ladislaus Zrebski. He is survived by
grandmothers Virginia Stribakos and Virginia Zrebski, parents Gus and Kathy,
brother and sister Conrad and Amy, many aunts, uncles and cousins. A viewing
will be held on Wednesday, May 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe South
Valley 1007 W. South Jordan Pkwy. (10600 So.) Services will be held on
Thursday, May 5, at 2 p.m. at the same location. In lieu of flowers, donations

Swenson, Kenneth L.
Kenneth L. Swenson 1926 ~ 2005 "Going Home" Kenneth L. Swenson, age 78, was
called home after a courageous battle with renal cancer on April 30, 2005. He
was born June 10, 1926 in Salt Lake City to August LaVern and EreBelle Vance
Swenson. Served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy. He then
married his sweetheart, Maurine Woodruff, November 4, 1949. Later solemnized
in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they enjoyed 55 wonderful years of marriage.
As a member of the LDS Church, he served in many callings-his favorite being
home teaching. He enjoyed a career in catalog design and retail apparel sales
where he coined the phrase "Fit isn't everything". Ken's passion for pigeon
racing spanned over 60 years. His birds won many awards including his 1973 AU
Hall of Fame winner "304". His family will miss his tenderness and love, his
wit and humor will be missed by all. Preceded in death by his two sons, Randy
and Paul; parents; two brothers; and one sister. Survived by his wife,
Maurine; children, Deborah (Gary) Whetton, Cassandra (Lynn) Ritchie, Joseph
(Patricia) Swenson, Paula (Richard) Merrill; 17 grandchildren; 10
great-grandchildren; brother, August LaVar Swenson. We thank his many friends
who made it possible for him to continue racing up to his final hours. Our

Taylor, Wendell Earl
Wendell Earl Taylor, DDS 1924 ~ 2005 Wendell Earl Taylor passed away
peacefully at home on April 29, 2005, surrounded by his family. He was born
October 21, 1924 to Golden and Evelyn Madsen Taylor in Payson, Utah. In 1949
he married his lifelong sweetheart, Joyce Beverly Johnson, in the Salt Lake
LDS Temple and together raised six children. Upon turning eighteen, Wendell
enlisted in the military service as a Naval aviator. Flying the F4 Corsair as
a First Lieutenant in the Marine Corps, he survived a plane crash in China on
April 1, 1946. Despite this scare, flying remained a passion throughout his
life. He built two airplanes and loved the excitement of acrobatic maneuvers
and the thrill of moving freely through the air. Wendell graduated from BYU
and later from dental school at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco
where he and Joyce made many lifelong friends. He practiced dentistry in Salt
Lake City for over 40 years. He was active in the Salt Lake Dental Society
where he served as President and was on the state Board of Dental Examiners.
Wendell loved to explore, and upon settling in Utah bought the first of many
Jeeps, making countless journeys into the wide-open spaces of Utah and the
West with his family and friends. Glen Canyon, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef, The
San Rafael Swell, and Robbers Roost were only a few of the places he
frequented long before they became popular. He taught his kids to enjoy
water-sports, camping, horseback riding, Dutch oven cooking, skiing, and the
pleasure of many outdoor activities. His love of life and adventure earned him
many strong and loyal friends. Wendell is survived by Joyce, his wife of 55
years, his children; Jim and Mary Jane Taylor, Tom Taylor, Pete and Rachel
Taylor, John and Connie Taylor, John and Jane Merrill, Kent and Shelly
Christensen, nineteen grandchildren and one great-grand-child born this week
(all of Salt Lake City); and his dear sister Vivian Creer of Las Vegas,
Nevada; and brother Noel of Provo. Wendell was preceded in death by his
beloved daughter Wendy, his parents and two brothers: Sherm, and Grant (Ross).
Thanks to the many wonderful people that were lasting friends throughout his
life. Thanks to the VA Hospital, The Neighborhood House, and Arlington Hills
Care Center for providing excellent care. Funeral services will be held on
Tuesday, May 3rd at 12 noon at the Monument Park Second Ward located at 1005
So. 2000 E. in Salt Lake City. A time to greet Joyce and the family will be
held at 11 a.m. prior to the funeral service. A viewing will also be held
Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary located at 2350

Tukuafu, Viliami Kauvaka Lavulavu
In Memory Of Viliami Kauvaka Lavulavu Tukuafu 1923 ~ 2005 Born on April 10th,
1923 to Aisake Tukuafu and Kavamahea Lavulavu in Lape, Vava'u, Tonga Isle. In
the early morning of April 28th, 2005 while peacefully sleeping in his home,
Viliami Tukuafu was called home to his Heavenly Father. Viliami was a very
successful farmer in his home island of Tonga. He diligently and faithfully
served his church for many years, holding several different callings for The
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as Branch President for
the Fua' amotu branch, was a District Sunday School Pres. Served a two year
mission with his first wife and four of his oldest children, and later served
as a labor missionary in Tonga. Was a ward missionary and his favorite calling
was being a home teacher. He taught his children and grandchildren "SERVICE"
and his deep love and faith in Christ were seeded in his children and
grandchildren. 11 children, 23 grandchildren served full time missions for the
LDS church. Three grandchildren are currently serving full time missions. Next
to his faith in Christ, Papa loved his family. He had a special love for his
grand and great-grand-children. It was a tradition in the family that whenever
one of his grandchildren married, that he would sing one of his favorite
songs: "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine, you make me happy when skies
are gray, you never know dear how much I love you, please don't take my
sunshine away. " He married Losaline Lapu'aho on March 3, 1943 and they were
later sealed in the New Zealand Temple. Losaline passed away on Jan. 20, 1968.
Together they had 14 children. Eveline (Petelo) Kaufusi, Samiu (Ofa), Makalita
(Euta) Mulitalo, Fanga (Luseane), Ku'ulei (Semisi) Lavaka, Aisake (Lose),
Talangofua, Kavamahea (Gary) Haiola, Heamasa (Holly), Tipasa (Melini), Sungalu
(Meliame), Avalisi (Ola) Lapu'aho, Finau (Mele) Tukuafu. There are 77
grandchildren and 88 great-grandchildren. On Sept. 29th 1978, he married
Ilaise Pasikala Vainikolo, and later sealed. They have four children, Fiefia
(Ofa) Tonga, Jackson (Lauren), Viliami, Sateki (Lisa) and two grandchildren
Kulaea and Madison. Not only is he survived by his wife, children,
grandchildren and great- grandchildren, but also his brothers, Piula, Paula,
Sione and Kaveinga, and his sisters, Taunoa and Ofa. He is preceded in death
by his parents, and not only his first wife, but their son, Silivenusi,
daughter, Ku'ulei Lavaka, twin granddaughters, Akanesi and Miriam Haiola and
grandson, Jason Kaufusi. Also his sisters, Finau, Fiefia, Salote and Mala, Ele
and his brothers, Eleveni, Toni and Etuini. Families and friends are welcome
at a special Family Evening which will be held Wed, May 4, at the Cannon 3rd
Ward, 1301 S. 1200 West 6:00-10:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held, Thurs.,
May 5, at 11:00 a.m. at the Cannon 3rd Ward also. Families and friends

Beth Heaps Ham Ward "Dolly" Beth Heaps Ham Ward, our loving mom and grandma,

Deseret Pharmaceutical and Jordan School District. She met and married Blair
Ward and they had an enjoyable life traveling, jeeping, boating, fishing and
being with their families. Blair preceded her in death. Beth spent the winters
in Overton, Nevada and the summers in Hagerman, Idaho. Survivors: children,
Barbara Ham, Salt Lake; Rick Ham (Mary), Seattle, Washington; Janice Dennison
(Myron), Highland, Utah; Pamela Todeschi (Dale), Mesa, Arizona; Brian Ham
(Carrie), Riverton, Utah; 27 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; also
survived by Blair's children: Vernon Ward (Nancy), Boise, Idaho; Linda Bassett
(Dex), Tacoma, Washington; Sherry Mallard (Herb), Boise, Idaho; Dean Ward,
Maine; Grant Ward, Portland, Oregon; Melanie Sheehan (Dan), Boise, Idaho;
brothers and sister, Darrell Heaps (Josie), LoaFae Palmer (Reed), Bill Heaps
(Sharon), Judy Christensen (Gerry). Funeral services will be held Wed., May 4,
2005, at 11:00 a.m. in the Highland 10th Ward, 6400 West 11000 North,
Highland, Utah. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary 8090 So. State St., Midvale,
Tuesday 6-8 p.m. or Wednesday at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Graveside
services will be held Thursday, May 5, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the Hagerman
Cemetery in Hagerman, Idaho. The family expresses special thanks to a special
nurse, Cori, our guardian angel, for her devotion to Mom.
