Adams, Marilyn Jeanne Price        
Marilyn Jeanne Price Adams 1926 ~ 2005 Marilyn Price Adams died August 31,
2005, enduring well her battle with cancer. Born August 26, 1926, the youngest
child of James Robert and Mabel Alexander Price. She grew up in Phoenix,
Arizona. She was educated in Arizona and at the University of Utah where she
graduated in 1948 with a B.A. degree in English. She was a member of Chi Omega
sorority. She met Beecher D. Adams while attending the "U" and they were
married in 1948, and sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. They are the parents of
four children, Beecher Dan Adams Jr. (Karen) of Salt Lake City, Christine
Holland of Highland, UT, Stephen P. Adams (Shelia) of Layton, UT, and Lisa
Bohne (Richard) of Highland, UT. She was a member of The Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in the Mutual Improvement Association
and Young Women for many years, teaching the girls and directing the
activities of that organization and as ward and stake Young Women president.
She loved girls and loved her association with them through many years,
bonding her forever to their friendship. In 1972, she was called to the Young
Woman General Board where she served until 1978. In 1982, she was called as a
national vice president of Lambda Delta Sigma, the Church sorority, and was an
associate member of the Relief Society General board, serving in that capacity
until 1990. Marilyn's greatest joy was her family. She has 20 grandchildren,
and six great-grandchildren. She was famous among them for her homemade ice
cream and chocolate sundae pie, her clever skits and songs that they lovingly
performed, her "Grandkid's Days" which she and Beech loved to have, gathering
them around for activities of all kinds, and her unyielding testimony of the
gospel, and love of her Savior, which she shared with them often. The J.R.
Price family held many three day family reunions in Utah, Arizona, and
California, and she was very much involved in these which led her to giving
many seminars and classes on family reunions. Her hobbies included oil
painting, cooking, sewing, creative arts, reading, and writing poetry, songs,
skits, and dramas for family and friends. She wrote extensively in her church
callings including the words to the primary song, "Hum your Favorite Hymn."
She was one of the four writers for the sesquicentennial production of "Zion"
held in the Salt Lake Tabernacle. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Sept.
6th, at 12:00 noon at the Monument Park Stake Center located at 1320 S.
Wasatch Boulevard in Salt Lake City. An evening viewing will be held on
Monday, Sept. 5th at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary located at 2350 East 1300
South from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and preceding the funeral service from 10:30 to
11:30 a.m. Interment and graveside services will be at Larkin Sunset Lawn
Mortuary in Salt Lake City.

Anglesey, James Franklin           
James Franklin Anglesey 1947 ~ 2005 EDEN - James Franklin Anglesey, 58, passed
away Thursday, September 1, 2005 surrounded by his loving family at home after
a long battle with leukemia. Jim was born April 18, 1947 in Birmingham,
Alabama to Walter Merle and Mary Frances Estey Anglesey and was raised in
Idaho and graduated from Blackfoot High School; educated at University of Utah
and BYU. He married professional violinist Theresa Ellis March 14, 1992,
solemnized in the Jordan River LDS Temple. Also known as Jimmy Franklin, he
played keyboards with Ellis & Franklin. He was a composer, an arranger, and a
recording engineer. He was known and sought after for his expertise and
knowledge by the worldwide music community. Jim was on faculty at BYU School
of Music for 20 years and taught sound recording technology. He was a director
of the cappella group, Vocal Point. He was the owner and CEO of Lodestar
Productions. His greatest joy was performing music with his wife. Jim was
honored to volunteer for the 2002 Winter Olympics. He served his country
honorably in the US Navy. He was an Elder and active member of The Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is survived by his wife; sons, Joshua
and Joseph; mother; brother, Don (Carolee) Anglesey, Magna; two sisters, Jane
(Scott) Johnson, West Virginia; Gayann (Jim) Norton, Price. Preceded in death
by his father. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at the
Nordic Valley Ward, 2900 North Highway 162, Eden, UT at 1:00 p.m. Friends and
family may call Tuesday at the Church from 11-12:30 p.m. Interment, Mountain
View Cemetery, Eden, Utah. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations

Bronicel, Jetta Eustance           
Jetta Eustance Bronicel 1944 ~ 2005 Jetta Eustance Bronicel passed away
Tuesday, August 30, 2005, due to respiratory failure. She was born to Faye
Holst and Lemuel John Eustance October 2, 1944, in Murray, Utah. In 1963, she
married Ronald Jay Bronicel in the Salt Lake Temple and became a widow in
1978. She is survived by her children Cori Giardiello (Nick), Glade J.
Bronicel, and her granddaughter, Kelsi Giardiello. Family and friends may call
Monday, September 5, 2005 from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So.
State Street, Murray, Utah, and the next day, September 6th at the mortuary
one hour prior to the 11 a.m. graveside services at the Murray City Cemetery,
5600 So. Vine Street. Jetta has requested that a funeral not be held and that
this self-written obituary contain a bare minimum of words.

Budd, Charles Edwin "Ted"          
Charles Edwin "Ted" Budd 1932 ~ 2005 Charles "Ted" Budd, our dear and beloved
husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, peacefully went home
to our Father in Heaven September 1, 2005. Born April 30, 1932 in Salt Lake
City, Utah; a son of Mary Adelaide Romney Budd and George Edward Budd. Married
Claudia Susan Pitts on July 2, 1955. Survived by wife Claudia; son Charles
"Chuck" Budd and granddaughter Brandy Budd; son Michael (Trudi) Budd ,
granddaughter Zoyie Budd and grandsons M. Paul, Bryan "BJ" and Matthew Budd;
sister Marilyn (Mark) Pack; and many loved nieces and nephews. Ted has been a
wonderful family man, a great friend, a man of integrity and honor. He truly
loved people. He valiantly served God and country during the Korean Conflict.
Ted was an employee of Pepsico Corporation for 40 years. Ted loved all of
nature - especially time spent fishing and at Bear Lake. He was an avid sports
fan. He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren as being a fan and
great supporter of all their activities, games and ambitions! Most of all, Ted
loved having his family around him! "Pappa Ted," we'll all love and miss you,
too! Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, September 7, 2005, 11:00 a.m.,

Marvel Joy Cavalli In Loving Memory Marvel Cavalli, age 77, passed away
peacefully in West Jordan on September 2, 2005. She was born July 9, 1928 in
Mitchell, Nebraska to Elmer and Arlie Flood. Marvel was one of six children.
She is survived by two daughters: Maureen (Jerry) Bickham; Kim (Glen) Jensen;
nine grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren; siblings: Arlys Frymuth, Sharon
Andreas, and Arlyn Doyle Flood. To our Mom and Grandmother: God looked around
his garden And found an empty place, He then looked down upon the earth And
saw your tired face. He put his arms around you, And lifted you to rest, God's
garden must be beautiful, He always takes the best. He knew that you were
suffering, He knew you were in pain, He knew that you would never, Get well on
earth again. He saw the road was getting rough, And the hills were hard to
climb, So he closed your weary eyelids, And whispered "peace be thine." It
broke my heart to lose you, But you did not go alone, For part of us went with

Cook, Marie         
Marie Cook 1920 ~ 2005 HOLLADAY - Jane Marie Rasmussen Cook, 85, passed away
peacefully in Provo, Utah, September 1, 2005, with loved ones at her side.
Despite the debilitating effects of a stroke in 1997 that left her with
dementia, Marie always graciously greeted family and friends with a smile and
a twinkle in her eye. She had a great affection for little children and was
thrilled to be among them. She was born March 31, 1920, in Price, Utah, to
Lawrence M. and Mary Jane Olsen Rasmussen. During wartime she married Jack N.
Cook June 16, 1943. Later she was sealed in the Salt Lake Temple to her loving
companion of 61 years. She was a special friend to her older sister Jessie.
She was a creative homemaker and became an expert at decorating cakes and
dipping chocolates. She loved to entertain and was a hard worker, having been
employed most of her life. She was a whiz at shorthand and amazed us just
recently with her talent. She and Jack loved to travel, taking souvenir photos
from coast to coast. Her many years of service in the Relief Society gave her
great pleasure. She was a sensitive and generous person, spending many
holidays and birthdays with her nieces and nephews who affectionately called
her Mimi. Survived by nephew Richard and Maureen Holdaway and their children;
Laurie and Chris Meacham, Kristin and Ben Francis, David and Jessie Holdaway,
Brian and Jessica Holdaway and Mark Holdaway. Other nieces and nephews, Art
Rasmussen, Dorothy Hackwell, Helen Jean Platis, Ruth Buchanan, Paulette Harte,
Paul Naturale Jr., Candace Hsiao, and numerous others. Sisters-in-law Norma
Rasmussen and Sybil Howard and brother-in-law Paul C. Naturale . Preceded in
death by her husband Jack, brothers Arthur and Morris Rasmussen; sisters,
Jessie R. Holdaway, Beverly Holbrook and Barbara Naturale. Funeral services
will be at Cottonwood Memorial Mortuary, 4670 So. Highland Drive, Holladay,
Utah, Tuesday Sept. 6 at 11:00 a.m. Friends may call one hour before the

Crizer, Francis Edward "Ned"       
Francis Edward "Ned" Crizer Will be missed Francis Edward "Ned" Crizer, son of
Wendy and Barry Crizer, passed away peacefully at his home in Sandy, Utah, on
September 3, 2005, after a long and very courageous battle with cancer. Ned is
survived by his parents Barry and Wendy Crizer, his sisters Audra Jean Crizer,
Kathleen Marie Crizer, Rachel Dawn Crizer and his brother Steven Samuel Rutter
Crizer and his Nephew Thomas James "TJ" Sanders and his darling little Lillian
"Lilly" Grace Sanders. Ned faithfully served in the Las Vegas West Mission for
the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Ned was devoted to his
family. He loved fishing and camping and was a talented artist and his sense
of humor was a delight for everyone who knew him. Ned was preceded in death by
his cousins, David John Crizer, Melissa Gae' King and Emily Ruth King Ned set
a great example for all those around him and he will be truly missed. Funeral
Services Wed., Sept. 7th, 12 noon at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950
E. 10600 So. in Sandy, where friends and family may call on Tues. 6-8 p.m. and
on Wed. one hr. prior to the services. Interment Larkin Sunset Gardens. In

Colleen Griffith "Beloved Wife, Mom & Grandma" Esther Colleen Griffith, 66,
beloved wife, mom and grandma, passed away September 1, 2005. She was born
April 15, 1939, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Richard Lehi and Constance Kohlhepp
Hardman. On May 1, 1957, Colleen married Allen Keith Griffith in Salt Lake
City, Utah. Survivors, husband, Allen, Sandy, Utah; children, Joyce Robinson
(Randy), Draper; Grant (Lorie), Carl, both West Jordan; six grandchildren; and
two great-grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday,
September 6, 2005, 1:30 p.m. at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 So.

Hall, Erma Pack          
Erma Pack Hall 1945 ~ 2005 Our Sister, Our Friend "Memories light the corner
of our mind." As we think of you, we remember Murray High, the young girl
riding a bike in New Zealand, the great mom taking her kids to the library,
endless hours working on quilts and dolls for family and friends and the
sister, who supported all of our endeavors. We miss you. She was the daughter
of Emery and Lucyle Pack, the wife of Ron Hall, mother to Yvette, Seth, Brett
and Wade, grandmother, sister to Christine and Clyde, friend of many. Erma
fought a brave, short battle with liver cancer. She's been gone 5 months, but

Hardman, Glenn Lynn           
Glenn Lynn Hardman 1942 ~ 2005 Glenn Lynn Hardman, at age 63, took his final
motorcycle ride home on August 27, 2005. He passed away peacefully with his
love and soul mate, Nancy, by his side, at his son's home in Payson, AZ. He
was born Jan. 26, 1942, in Salt Lake City, UT to Henry Richard Harman and
Grace Vermont Williams. Lynn was a spiritual man with deep beliefs and 22
years of Sobriety. He touched so many lives with his pleasant smile, good
humor, and kindred spirit. He always had the willingness to lend a helping
hand to whomever needed it. He was always a joy to be with and to be around.
He loved to ride free and gave of his love so evenly. He is survived by his
children, Joey (Annette) Hardman, Snowflake, AZ; Bob (Pix) Hardman, Payson,
AZ; Shelley (Randy) Hill, Payson, UT; Beaky (George) Keyworth, Layton, UT; 13
grandchildren and four great-grand-children. He is also survived by his
brothers, Bob Martin, Ivan Hardman, Terry Hardman, Udell Hardman, Mike
Hardman; and his sisters Carol Landures, Bonnie Clift, and Sharon Brewer. He
was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Grace, brother DeMoine Hardman,
sister Virginia Purdy. Services were held at Payson Funeral Home, Payson, AZ,
Tuesday Aug. 30, 2005. Interment at Mountain Meadows Memorial Park, Payson AZ.
A memorial service will be held in Salt Lake City, UT on September 5, 2005, at
Draper Park South Pavillion 12450 S 1300 E, at 5 p.m.

Holbrook, Beverly        
Beverly Holbrook Together Again Violet Beverly Richter Holbrook, age 86,
passed away Friday, September 2, 2005, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Beverly was
born on July 5, 1919, in Salt Lake City, Utah the daughter to Ransam Wells and
Violet Preece Richter. Beverly grew up in Farmington, Utah, where she
graduated from Davis High School. She married L. Dale Holbrook on February 14,
1939, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Dale passed away February 3, 1996. In 1941
Dale and Beverly opened the Clearfield Mortuary and in 1962 they opened the
Holbrook Funeral Chapel in Salt Lake City, Utah. Beverly also worked as a
secretary and teller at Davis County Bank, Clearfield State Bank, First
Security Bank in Salt Lake, and Christensen Diamond Products. Beverly was an
active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in a
variety of positions including 16 years as Ward and Stake Relief Society
President. She served with Dale in the Akron Ohio, Wilford Stake, Johannesburg
South Africa Temple, Washington D.C. Temple, and Salt Lake Temple Missions.
She enjoyed family gatherings, particularly Christmas and family vacations
especially in Yellowstone. She was an exemplary mother, grandmother, companion
and friend. At life's ebb she demonstrated great faith and endurance. Beverly
is survived by her children; Rick (Lynda) Holbrook, Helen (Bruce) Smith,
Tamara Snow, Thomas (Lisa) Holbrook, John (Sandy) Holbrook, all from Salt Lake
City; 24 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Lou Jean (Bill)
Barlow, Bountiful; brothers-in-law, John (Wilma) Morgan, Salt Lake City, J
(June) Holbrook, Burley, ID; sisters-in-law, Beth (Carmen) Pearson, Burley,
ID, Zora Holbrook, San Antonio, TX, and Margaret Arnel, Citrus Heights, CA.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters; Florence
Barton and Daisy Morgan; brothers-in-law, Dale Barton, Glenn Holbrook and Don
Holbrook. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday September 6, 2005, 1:00
p.m. at the Grandview 3rd LDS Ward Chapel, 2851 South 2000 East. Friends may
visit with the family on Monday evening September 5, 2005 from 7:00-9:00 p.m.
at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, and at the church on Tuesday
from 11:45- 12:45 p.m. prior to the services. Interment: Wasatch Lawn. In lieu

Jensen, Brett W.         
Brett W. Jensen 03/13/61 ~ 09/01/05 Brett Wendell Jensen, beloved by so many,
peacefully entered Paradise September 1, 2005 while surrounded by loving
family. Brett was born March 13, 1961 in Torrance, CA to James Despain and
Consuelo Gibler Jensen. He was the seventh of eight children. He married
Nellie Blanco, January 1, 1985, in Hawaii, their marriage was later solemnized
in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. A hard worker throughout his life, Brett was a
district manager for several retail clothing firms and employed by PeeKay Inc.
in CA at the time of his death. Brett survived leukemia ten years ago. In
April 2005, his leukemia returned. He fought valiantly to live for the sake of
his wife and children. Brett will be remembered for his delightful humor, big
heartedness, devotion to family, and loyalty to friends. He truly cherished
life. He is survived by his mother; loving wife; daughter, Heather; sons,
Brett II and Kyle; siblings, Jim (Linda), Jon (Judy), Pam (Jim) Saley,
Jeannine (Earl) Leeman, Tanya Jensen, Charmaine (John) Wright, Janelle (Steve)
Luhm; caring friend, Scott Eben; and many others. Preceded in death by his
father. Celebration of Brett's courageous life will begin with a Family
Visitation Mon., Sept. 5, 2005 from 6-8 p.m. Memorial Services will be held
Tues., September 6, 2005 at 12:00 noon. Friends may call from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
Services and Interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Gardens (3410 Highland Dr.
SLC, UT). The family wishes to thank Kaiser Riverside 4th floor, Winchester
Ward, PeeKay Inc., Inland Empire Hospice in CA, and Vista Care Hospice, in UT,
for their loving care and concern. Brett will live forever in our hearts for

Kastler, Sheridan Joseph           
Sheridan Joseph Kastler "Kas" Gone Trailering! Sheridan "Kas" Kastler, age 63,
passed away in Salt Lake City on Aug. 24, 2005, from complications due to
diabetes. He was born in Salt Lake on April 10, 1942 to Joseph Charles and
Cleo Dastrup Kastler. He resided most of his life in Salt Lake where he
attended Olympus High and University of Utah and currently lived in Yuma,
Arizona. He enjoyed 12 years of retirement from the Federal Reserve Bank. He
will be remembered for his joy of trailering, square dancing, detailing cars,
many construction and landscaping projects. Kas had a talent for turning an
ordinary story into a fascinating one. Kas served in the military in Germany
and recently visited there with his daughter. Kas is survived by his daughter,
Kari; granddaughter, Shakira of Salt Lake; father, Joe of Yuma; sister,
Katherine Ball of Phoenix; sister-in-law, Maysie Swensen of Fruit Heights;
many nieces and nephews, and his former wife and friend, Myrna of Salt Lake.
He was preceded in death by his mother and his brother, Gary. Kas elected not
to have a funeral, but his life was celebrated on Sunday, August 28th at his
former Salt Lake home with his friends and family. He will be interred in
private services at Memorial Estates on Redwood Road. Messages may be sent to

Albert Kump Family Tribute IDAHO FALLS, ID- Albert O'Donnell Kump, 88, of
Idaho Falls, ID, died September 2, 2005, in Idaho Falls. Born May 10, 1917,
Lund, Nevada, to Jacob and Catherine O'Donnell Kump. Served in the U. S. Army
Corps of Engineers. Married Dorel Greenhalgh December 28, 1944, at Santaquin,
Utah, solemnized January 2, 1952, in Salt Lake City Temple. Co-owned Custom
Floors of Idaho in Twin Falls. Active in The Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints, with 25 years service to the Boy Scouts of America and a
full-time mission to Palmyra, NY. He enjoyed woodworking, plastic art (his
knitting), gardening, and being a loving, devoted, doting husband, father, and
grandfather. Surviving are his wife: Dorel Kump; children, Laurine (Lynn)
McCord, Norman (Beverly) Kump, Alan (Katie) Kump, Douglas (Cathleen) Kump,
LoAnn (Richard) Burge; siblings, Jay Kump, Glen Kump, Donna Baum, Juanita
Burton, Vilate Silver, 20 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Preceded

Smith "Tita" Lay passed away September 2, 2005 after suffering a massive

1970 when she moved to Salt Lake City. She married Fred Lay on July 1, 1970.
Tita's life was not unlike a beautiful flower that silently endures storms and
sacrifices in order to provide happiness and beauty to others. She was a
considerate, selfless person who made 35 years of marriage nearly perfect.
"We'll meet again, my love, although the snow covers the hope of spring."
Survived by her husband Fred, sons Troy (Stephanie) and Robert; sister,
Frances Legdan, sisters-in-law Laura Plain, Linda LemMon, Theresa Smith, Ruth
Harding and Helen Lay; brothers-in-law Frank Lay, Lee Plain, Verl Harding,
Mike Britto and Garn LemMon; one aunt, Louise Honey of Hernando, Mississippi.
She is also survived by several special nieces and nephews. Preceded in death
by parents and by her brother Howard. Services will be held Tuesday, September
6 at 10:00 a.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Drive, where friends
may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment: Wasatch
Lawn Memorial Park.

Lloyd, Mary Lou Farr          
Mary Lou Farr Lloyd 1929 ~ 2005 Mary Lou Farr Lloyd of Kaysville, Utah, passed
away on September 1, 2005. She was born March 1, 1929, in Salt Lake City,
Utah, to Willard Ballantyne and Jane Lucretia Brown Farr. She spent many of
her growing up years in Salt Lake City and Richfield, UT. She graduated from
East High in 1947. Our angel-haired mother was eternally 29 years old. She
married Grant S. Lloyd on May 26, 1949, in the Salt Lake Temple. In 1954, Mary
Lou and Grant moved to "Just-A-Mere Farm" in Kaysville and began attending the
"Old North Farmington" ward. Mary Lou served in many positions in all the
auxiliaries of the church, including Stake Relief Society President. One of
her longest callings in the church was that of ward organist. She held that
position for nearly 40 years. Music became one of her great loves and brought
great joy into her life. In 1996, Mary Lou and Grant served an LDS mission at
the Visitors Center in Sharon, Vermont, the birthplace of Joseph Smith. Mary
Lou worked side by side with her dear husband in creating and establishing
Cherry Hill Resort. Together for over 30 years, she and Grant helped greet
people to their "little farm" from all over the world. Mary Lou is survived by
Grant, her husband of 56 years, her five children: Kathleen (Kent) Gauchay,
Idaho Falls, ID; Scott (Marilyn), Kaysville, UT; Bruce (Debbie), Kaysville,
UT; Keith (Tammy), Kaysville, UT; Carol (Blair) Barton, Kaysville, UT; 22
grandchildren; seven great-grand-children; sister, Louise McAllister,
Vancouver, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Willard
Farr, three sisters, Violet Higham, Zella Smith, Ethel Gardiner, and a
granddaughter, Michelle Lloyd. Funeral services will be held Wed., September
7, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Fairways LDS Chapel, 1533 N. 1075 W. Farmington, UT.
Friends and family may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Kaysville

Tammy Ann Miyahira 1968 ~ 2005 Tammy Ann Miyahira, age 37, passed away
unexpectedly on September 1, 2005, at her home in West Jordan, Utah. She was
born June 7, 1968, in Pueblo, Colorado to Bob and Ann Austin. On July 26,
1986, she married Warren Y. Miyahira in the Hawaii LDS Temple. Tammy pursued
her passion and graduated from Cosmetology School in 1997, where she became a
successful hairstylist and Cosmetology Instructor. She was an avid sports fan;
she followed the Utes, the Jazz and the Titans, as well as being a NASCAR
fanatic. She also enjoyed bowling and golfing. Tammy is survived by her
husband Warren, son Moke, parents Bob and Ann, brothers Bobby (Nancy) and
Monty, and sister Wendy (Don), as well as many other family and friends. Tammy
was a very loving and giving person who was taken much too soon from all who
loved her. We will miss you greatly. Funeral services will be held Tues.,
September 6, 2005, 11:00 a.m., at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, where
friends and family may visit Monday evening from 6-8 p.m., and one hour prior
to services Tuesday.

Murri, Ralph J.          
Ralph J Murri 1923 ~ 2005 Aloha! Ralph Murri, age 82, of Salt Lake City Utah
passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 31st. Ralph was born in Heber
City, Utah February 5, 1923, to Lecil Carlile and William C. Murri. Married
Gwendella Earl January 23, 1943; sealed June 23, 1947, in the Salt Lake
Temple. Ralph was a kind and gentle man, a great story teller with a very
humorous dry wit. He graduated from West High School and completed vocational
courses related to his career as an office machine serviceman. He worked 35
years for Olivetti-Underwood Company and became one of the first computer
service technicians in the area. He also worked for several years as a
building service technician and manager for the Union Pacific and Kennecott
office towers. He loved to travel and to take the back roads to points not
well known, as long as they either went through Yellowstone or to Disneyland.
His greatest joy was his family, and he loved teaching kids new things. He was
an active member of the LDS church, and will be missed by all whose lives were
touched by his love, generosity and wit. A special thanks to Shirley, Leann
and Dr. Gilbert at the U of U Cardiac Transplant Clinic for their special
care. Survived by wife Gwen; children, Lynn (Sandi), Jolene (Gary) Porter,
Robert (Judy), Wanda (Lane) Logsdon, Douglas (Michael), Martin, Cindy (Todd)
Powers; sister, Lucille Gervais; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, and
the Melvin West family. Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, LaVar,
Guy, Ray; sister Clara, and great-grandson Jacob. Funeral services will be

Darren "Craig" Newby Beloved Husband/Father Darren "Craig" Newby, beloved
husband, son, father, brother and friend, age 41, died suddenly of a heart
attack at his home on August 28, 2005. Craig was born November 11, 1963, in
Salt Lake City, Utah, to Verl B. Newby and Kaye Farnsworth Newby. Craig
married his first and only true love, Amy Kathryn Gravdahl on April 25, 1992.
Together they had three beautiful daughters that Craig cherished with all of
his heart. Craig was a graduate of Taylorsville High School and has worked for
Smith's Food and Drug for the past seven years. He was recently promoted to
Store Director of the Elko, Nevada, store and was excited for this new and
challenging opportunity. Craig was a dedicated worker with a strong work
ethic. He always gave 100%. Craig loved to golf with his daughter, brother and
friends. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved camping and fishing with his
family. He adored his wife and supported her by going to her Jazzercise
classes. We didn't have time to say good-bye or tell you how much we love you.
If we did, we would have told you what an exceptional man you were. Craig was
a hero to his family and to others. He was admired for his quick wit, his
smile, his honesty and strength of character. Craig left us too soon, but we
know he is in heaven with his sweet little daughter, Camryn. Craig was an
Elder in the LDS Church. Amy's parents, Bob and Nancy Gravdahl and all of her
brothers and sisters, loved Craig so much and welcomed him into their family.
They thought of him as a son. Craig is survived by his loving wife, Amy Newby;
daughters, Mikena and Karlee; parents, Verl and Kaye Newby; brothers, David
(Jackie) Newby and Kevin (Amber) Newby; sisters, Carrie (Duane) Bylund and
Bethany (Rick) Crabtree; also many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
His grandparents and daughter, Camryn Belle Newby preceded Craig in death.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2005, at 12:30 p.m. at the
St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 4501 West 5215 South. Friends may call

Rodger Dee Nielson 1915 ~ 2005 Rodger Dee Nielson, age 90, returned to the
arms of our Heavenly Father and his sweetheart, Phyllis. E. Nielson September
1, 2005 in Tooele, Utah. Rodger was born May 27,1915 in Ephraim, Utah to Mons
Alma Nielson and Algia Mortensen Nielson. He grew up and completed his
schooling in Sanpete County, Utah. He was a member of The Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-day Saints. Rodger married Phyllis July 2, 1934. They had
four children, Carole (Gary) Geldmacher of Grantsville, Utah; Ronald (LaRae)
Nielson, of Pleasant Grove, Utah; Donald (Norma) Nielson of Grantsville, Utah;
and Keith (Laura) Nielson, of Pleasant Grove, Utah. Dad will be greatly missed
by 15 grandchildren, 42 great-grand-children, and 17 great
great-grand-children. Also one sister, Ruth Blain of Salt Lake, City, Utah.
Preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis; two brothers and one sister. Graveside
services will be held Wednesday, Sept 7th, 11 a.m. at the Tooele City

Doris H. Oakeson Devoted Mother and Grandmother 1926 ~ 2005 Doris Hebdon
Oakeson passed away September 1, 2005, of natural causes in Salt Lake City.
She was born March 10, 1926, in Glendale, Idaho to Edward Eardley Hebdon and
Ellen May Auger. She married Leonard Francis Oakeson on Sept. 9, 1946, in Salt
Lake City. He passed away Oct. 17, 1973. Doris was an active member of the
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, she has been a resident of South
Jordan for 60 years and was retired from the U.S. Postal Service. Survived by
her sons, Rallo (Donna), Vance (Judy), Morris, and Sheldon (Vicki); 22
grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren. Also survived by her brothers, Keith,
Harold and Floyd Hebdon; and sisters, Velma Forman, Delsa McCracken, and Hazel
Hansen. Preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Richard; one sister;
and three brothers. A special thanks to her son, Morris, for his loving care

Penberthy, Elizabeth Adams         
Elizabeth Adams Penberthy 3/28/1918 ~ 9/2/2005 Elizabeth Adams Penberthy, age
87, returned to her Heavenly Father on Friday, September 2, 2005, surrounded
by her loving son and daughter-in-law in Peoria, Arizona. Born March 28, 1918,
in Riverside, Utah, to John Quincy Adams and Thurza Amelia Tingey. As a member
of an old pioneer family, she lived nearly all of her life in Centerville,
Utah. She was raised in Samoa and Hawaii; she graduated from Davis High
School, and attended L.D.S. Business College in Salt Lake City. Beth (as she
was more commonly known) joined the WAACC (later the Women's Army Corps) in
1942. She married William S. Penberthy in 1945 (later divorced). Beth attended
the University of Utah where she graduated in 1954 with a degree in education.
She taught first grade and kindergarten in Farmington and Kaysville, Utah, for
23 years. She is known as a gifted and inspired teacher who helped set
hundreds of students on an educational journey. She is survived by her son,
William Adams; two grandsons, Abraham Quincy and Brigham Joshua; and one
great-grandson, Aidan William Penberthy all of Peoria, Arizona. On Wednesday,
September 6, the funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. at the Centerville
First Ward chapel (160 South 300 East in Centerville). Friends may call on
Wednesday from 9:00 - 9:45 a.m. at the Centerville First Ward prior to the
funeral service. Interment will take place at the Centerville City Cemetery
under the direction of Russon Brothers Mortuary.

Dorothy L. Potter 10/24/20 ~ 09/01/05 Our mother, grandmother,
great-grandmother and friend Dorothy Louise Foote Potter passed away Thursday,
September 1, 2005 at the age of 84. She was born October 24, 1920 in Pontiac,
Michigan to Donald Mar and Alice Welborne Foote. The family moved to Jerome,
Idaho when she was a child. She moved from Idaho to Salt Lake City to attend
business college. While employed by Young Electric Sign Company she met and
married her husband, Alfred J. Potter in 1940. They moved to Bountiful in
1948. She was employed by Phillips Petroleum Company from 1958 until her
retirement in 1985. In her retirement years she enjoyed her hobby as a
porcelain artist sharing with her children the beauty of her outstanding
talent. She received many awards for her excellence. She is survived by her
children, Dorothy A. "Dottie" (Russ) Earl, Evelyn (LeRoy) Gallegos, and Jay L.
(Barbara) Potter; grandchildren, Stephanie, Kris, Jeffrey, Elizabeth, Jason
and Lisa; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her
parents; her husband; and one sister, Marian Daugherty. Graveside services
will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2005, 1:00 p.m. at the Bountiful City

Eva M. Purdy 1906 ~ 2005 Eva M. Purdy peacefully passed away two days after
her 99th birthday at the Rockwood Retirement Home in Spokane, Washington. She
was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse L. Purdy. She is survived by, son
Richard Purdy, and his wife, Patricia, of Roseville, CA; daughter, Peggy
Monda, and her husband, Joseph, of Seattle; three granddaughters Barbara
Leiker, of Novato, CA, Diane Purdy, of Clear Lake, CA, and Melissa Hall, of
Bellingham, WA; two grandsons, Joe Monda, of Seattle, WA and Matthew Monda, of
Guadalajara, Mexico; four great-granddaughters, Madeleine Hall and Gabrielle
Hall of Bellingham, WA, and Erika Monda and Monica Monda of Guadalajara
Mexico; and one great grandson, Mark Leiker, of Novato, CA. Eva, with her twin
brother Harry Williams, was born to Henry and Melissa Coon Williams, in Salt
Lake City, Utah, in 1906. She was the great-granddaughter of Evan and Sarah
Williams, who migrated from Wales to Salt Lake City in 1861. She met and
married her husband, Jesse L. Purdy, in 1924 and moved to Spokane where he
taught at the old Hillyard High School and then at John Rogers. Mr. Purdy was
principal at John Rogers from 1946 to 1962. Eva was very active in PTA during
her children's grade and high school education and a member of PEO, holding
the office of president from 1963 to 1965. She was also active in the YWCA.
She accompanied her husband on his many travels as District Governor of the
International Lions Club and was active in the Lioness organization. After Mr.
Purdy's death in 1978 she moved to Hawthorn Manor retirement home and finally

Schmidt, Erna N.         
Erna N. Schmidt "Oma" 1910 ~ 2005 Our beloved mother, grandmother,
great-grandmother, Erna Nabrotzky Schmidt, returned peacefully to her Heavenly
Father on Tuesday morning, August 30, 2005 at the age of 94. She was born
November 7, 1910 in Breslau, Silesia, Germany to C. Wilhelm Nabrotzky and Anna
Kuller Nabrotzky. She immigrated to the United States in 1930 where she met
Alfred B. Schmidt in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were married in the Salt Lake
Temple on November 7, 1934, on her birthday. Erna, a hard worker all her life,
was a marvelous cook and all her children and grandchildren loved to gather in
her home for holidays and special dinners. Christmas Eve was the most
remembered occasion because it was celebrated in the German tradition. She
sang for many years with the German L.D.S. Choir and then with the Chorus
Harmonie. Her greatest joy was her family, especially "the little ones." Erna
is survived by daughter Evelyn Pollaehne, son Harold (Sona) Schmidt, daughter
Elona (Robert) McEntire, 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grand children and
sister-in-law Katie Nabrotzky. She was preceded in death by her parents, her
husband, two sisters, three brothers and son-in-law Horst Pollaehne. The
family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses and staff at the
CareSource Home Health and Hospice for the loving kindness and care they gave
to our mother. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at 11

Alice Barbara Lingner Lambert Sorensen 1921 ~ 2005 Our loving wife, mother,
grandmother, and friend peacefully returned to her Heavenly Father September
1, 2005. She was born July 8, 1921, to John Malcolm and Hortense Eunice
Franklin Lingner in Nashville, Tennessee. Alice was married to Hubert C.
Lambert in the Salt Lake Temple May 31, 1940, and together they had nine
children. Hubert passed away March 5, 1973, and Alice married DeOrr Sorensen
in Salt Lake City May 11, 1996. Alice was an active member of the LDS church,
serving in callings such as Stake Missionary and Temple worker. She loved arts
and crafts and was very artistic. She was well read, wrote poetry, and liked
to paint and draw. Alice's heart was bigger than her pocket book. Everyone who
knew her will miss her sweet spirit. Alice is survived by her husband, DeOrr,
children, Hubert I. (Sharon) Lambert, Barbara (Joe) Lawson, Mary (Fred)
Miller, John David (Shirlene) Lambert, Carol (Gary) Townsend, Roberta (Dave)
Pratt, Donovan (Jenny) Lambert, Franklin (Lisa) Lambert, Frederick (Synthia)
Lambert, 35 grandchildren, and 38 1/2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in

heart surgery. He served in the USAF from 1960 to 1964. Worked for Frontier
Airlines/retired Delta Airlines and worked part-time for Hertz. He enjoyed
skiing, good books/music, and his friends at Kips and Wilhoittes. Preceded in
death by parents, Mary Ruth and Lyle S. Stillman. Survived by sisters, Sharon
S. Phillips, Marianne Van Roosendaal and Tracee S. Starr. Graveside services

Thompson, Eduard Paul         
Eduard Paul Thompson 1947 ~ 2005 Ed - Eddie -Eduardious ET Thompson, 58, died
Wednesday, August 31, 2005 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born February 12,
1947 in Salt Lake City to Paul E. and Dorotha Thompson. He lived his childhood
and young adult years in Salt Lake City, Utah and resided in Honolulu, Hawaii
for the past 23 years. He returned to live in Salt Lake City just five days
prior to his passing. Ed engaged life fully and vigorously even though he was
challenged with cerebral palsy all his life. He rode his bike 20 miles a day
from Waikiki to Hawaii Kai and was a familiar figure to virtually all the
residents of Honolulu. His strong spirit and determination endeared him to his
family and friends and amazed and inspired many who saw him or knew of him. A
recent achievement in 1999 was the completion of a coast to coast
three-wheeler trip across the United States for Abilities First, in the
company and support of several friends. His motto was "I was born this way,
what's your excuse?" He was predeceased by his parents; and his stepmother,
Zelpha Thompson. He is survived by his brother, Val (Debbi) Thompson of Reno,
Nevada; stepsisters, Carol (Melvin) Smith, Loraine (David) Bunker;
stepbrothers, Dale (Wilhelmina) Teeples, Niel (Donna) Teeples; dear friends,
Steve Scott and Bert Margetts; and scores of friends in Salt Lake City and
Honolulu. A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, September 6, 2005,
12:00 noon at Parleys First Ward Chapel, 2350 South 2100 East, Salt Lake City.

Marjorie Tingey 1928 ~ 2005 Marjorie Louise Abbott Tingey, 76, passed away
Thursday, September 1, 2005 in Bountiful, Utah. She was born November 7, 1928
in Massachusetts, the daughter of John and Winifred Anstey Abbott. She married
Joseph Allen Tingey, June 3, 1946. He died in 1990. Marjorie was a member of
the United Church of Christ. She was a foster parent to 335 children. She
loved being with her family and friends. She is survived by her children,
Joseph Tingey, Donna (Gary) Lund, Susan (Jeff) Garvin, Bonnie (Kim) Stevens,
Robyn (Mike) Tolman; and daughter-in-law, Randie Tingey; eight grandchildren;
eight great-grand-children; brothers, Ralph Abbott, and Bob Abbott; and
sister, Bertha Brown. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, and

Lori M. Turner 1942 ~ 2005 Lori M. Turner born June 18, 1942 made her
transition August 26, 2005. She lived a life of love and service as a wife,
mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. She is supported on her journey
by her family; Shawn (Christiana) Dawn (Gena) and three beautiful grandsons,
Gracen, Maxian and Kalieb. An open house will be held at 2068 W. 4260 S.,
Sept. 7th at 6:00 p.m.

Wilson, Mark J.          
Mark J. Wilson 6/5/1960 ~ 8/31/2005 Mark was born in Murray, Utah, June 5,
1950, to Anna Mae Fillerup and Don J. Wilson. He passed from this life to the
next step for him on August 31, 2005, surrounded by his family and close
friends. Mark will be greatly missed by all those who love him. He will be
remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor and his love for the outdoors.
His happiest times were spent fishing and hunting with his brothers, children,
nieces, and friends. Mark also had a love for his work as a heavy equipment
operator. He spent his adult life working hard and was truly happy on a
machine moving dirt. He was a master of his craft and was highly respected by
those in the construction business who knew of his work ethic, expertise and
knowledge. Mark had a big heart and was generous with his time and resources
when his family or friends needed his help. The family would like to extend a
special thank you to the doctors and nurses at Cottonwood Intensive Care Unit
who extended kindness, special care and mercy to Mark and his family during a
difficult time. Mark is survived by his mother, Anna, two brothers Merrill
(Ranae) and Ross and his children Travis and Tiffani of Kalispell, Montana,
five nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his father, an infant
son Kyle, and his grandparents. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday,
September 6, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. in the Murray City Cemetery, 5600 South Vine
Street, Friends may call prior to services at Russon Brothers Salt Lake

Wolters, Ralph Louis          
Ralph Louis Wolters 1924 ~ 2005 Our husband, father and grandpa, passed away
September 1, 2005 at his home in the arms of his wife, Florence, his susse
alles. Ralph was born June 3, 1924 to Frederick Charles and Mary Lamping
Wolters. He married Florence Lundwall Wolters, April 19, 1957 in the Salt Lake
Temple. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He graduated
from East High School and the U of U. He was a World War II veteran. He was
employed at Wolters Electric, and by the LDS Church, as a highly regarded
purchasing manager, retiring in 1990. He was active in the LDS church, serving
as bishop, counselor, high counselor and faithful home teacher. He spent
countless hours organizing family photos and albums. He was an avid
philatelist and enjoyed mind challenging puzzles. Ralph is survived by his
wife Florence, daughter, Anne Wolters, son R. Scott (Lynda) Wolters, seven
grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents,
brothers, Fred and Royal, sister, Marie, and grandson, David. Funeral services
to be held Tues. Sept. 6, 2005, 11 a.m. at the Brickyard Ward, 1111 E.
Charlton Ave., (2810 S.) Viewing Monday 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350
E. 1300 S. and from 10-11 a.m. prior to services. Interment at Wasatch Lawn
Memorial Park.
