He was born July 5, 1923 in Malad, Idaho to Edward T. and Elizabeth Jones Owens. Married Doris Moline November 27, 1964; she died May 1974. He married Leola Bybee June 30 1975; she died April 2002. Edward graduated from Malad High School. He served for three years in the South Pacific during World War II. He owned and operated his own business in Scipio, Utah for four years, and then moved to Ogden, Utah and retired from Hill Air Force Base. After retiring Ed and Leola managed a motel in Mesquite, NV for two years. Survived by sister, Bonnie Cheney; four nephews; four nieces; and brother-in-law, Stanley Barnes. Preceded in death by his wives, Doris and Leola; parents; sister, Betty Barnes; brothers, Steve Owens, and Grant Owens. Graveside services will be held 12 noon Wednesday, December 24, 2003 at the Malad Cemetery, Malad, Idaho. Directors, Peel Funeral Home, Magna. Published in the Salt Lake Tribune on 12/21/2003.
