She was born April 9, 1947 in Lehi, Utah, to Jess and Allie Cardon who both preceded her in death. Her favorite time in life was when she was spending time with her family. She was blessed with nine children and ten grandchildren. She was loved by all who knew her. She was a kind, sweet, and gentle person. She will be dearly missed. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. Dolores is survived by her husband of 38 years, Ken Anderson; children, Kenny Ray (Shelly), Phillip, April Meyer (Sean), Todd, Jared, Ricky, Aaron (Heather), Michelle Wadsworth (Daniel), and Brian; grandchildren, Nikki, Ronnie, Rylee, Carlee, Colin, and Trigger Anderson, Talon and Misty Meyer, Christian Katris, and Baby Wadsworth; four brothers, Ken (Marilyn) Cardon of Lehi, Arnie (DeAnn) Cardon of Lehi, Jess (Janiel) Cardon of Sandy, Gary (Carol) Cardon of American Fork; four sisters, Colleen (Glenn) Smith of American Fork, Donna Mae (George) Joines of California, Margo (Don) Andersen of Orem, Lois Cardon of American Fork. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 16, 2004, in the Holiday 11th Ward LDS Chapel, 4675 South 2050 East, Holladay. Friends may call at the ward house chapel from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be at Lehi City Cemetery, under the direction of Wing Mortuary, Lehi. Clark, Nathan Allen Nathan Allen Clark 1980-2004 Nathan Allen Clark was born Feb 9, 1980 and died December 10th, 2004, in an automobile accident. Nathan grew up in Bountiful with his parents Grenn & Kathleen and his five siblings. Nathan graduated from Woods Cross High School and Seminary. He served an honorable mission for the LDS church in Tacoma Washington. He attended UVSC and was employed by PMG as a successful Internet coach. Nathan was sealed for eternity to the love of his life, Kimberly S. Olvera Clark, on August 7, 2004 in the Portland Oregon Temple. Nathan was an avid snowboarder, and enjoyed making others laugh. Nathan could amuse anyone with his uncanny ability to quote lines from just about any movie he had seen. Nathan was most happy being surrounded by his wife, family and friends. They all meant the world to him. Nathan got along with everyone he met and touched the lives of many. Nathan was devout in his faith and had a strong desire to do what is right. His concern for family and friends was always apparent. He is survived by his wife Kim, his parents Grenn and Kathleen, brothers Sean, Travis and Spencer and sisters Jennifer and Andrea. Nathan is a greatly loved husband, son, uncle, and brother. He will be deeply missed until we meet on the other side as an Eternal Family. Dunford, Lela Christensen Lela Christensen Dunford 1908-2004 Lela Christensen Dunford, age 96, beloved mother, grandmother and friend, passed away December 11, 2004. She has long desired to join her dear husband who died in 1956. Lela will always be remembered for her kindness, cheerfulness and hospitality. Her many friends could always count on food and friendship whenever they called. Lela was born June 22, 1908, in Bloomington, Idaho. She was the youngest of thirteen children, married Isaac Dunford September 11, 1929 in the Salt Lake Temple, and is survived by her five boys, Harold (Brenda), Kent (Carolyn), Fred (Collene), John (LeeAnn), and Scott (Bonnie), twenty-one grandchildren and fifty-two great-grandchildren. Despite living alone for most of the fifty years since her husband's death, she has managed to live a full and productive life - helping raise two grandchildren, serving faithfully in the organizations of the LDS Church (including many years as a temple worker), traveling extensively throughout the United States, Europe and the Middle East, and working as an employee of the Utah Valley Hospital. She was skilled in knitting, quilting and embroidery. All the family has treasured gifts of her artistic work. Lela's greatest joy was being with family on trips, reunions, dinners and holidays. She has been an inspiration to all who have known her. Our lives have been enriched by association with her sweet and positive personality. Thanks Mom, Grandma, Sweetheart, for the beautiful memories. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 16, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in the Rivergrove Ward Chapel located on the corner of eighth north and seventh west in Provo. Published in the Daily Herald from 12/14/2004 - 12/15/2004. Hatch, Henson Leon Henson Leon Hatch, 74, of Pleasant Grove, returned to his Heavenly Father on December 11, 2004, of natural causes. Leon was born April 8, 1930, in Vernal, Utah, to Marion and Musetta Eaton Hatch. Leon joined the Navy on December 8, 1948, and served during the Korean Conflict. He was discharged in September, 1952, after which he worked at Geneva Steel and on the family farm. After being laid-off at Geneva, he worked for the Provo River Water Users Association. While there, he applied and was hired at the Utah State Prison in Bluffdale. He worked in several jobs, including Associate Warden, and retired on August 1, 1982. He graduated with a B. S. Degree in sociology and history from B.Y.U. in 1968. He received a master's degree in sociology and business management from the University of Utah in 1976. Leon married Shirley Rowland on June 28, 1950, in the Salt Lake Temple. They lived all their married life in Pleasant Grove, where they raised their children. Leon was an active member of the LDS Church. He loved life, had patience, a big heart, and love for all! He is survived by his wife, Shirley; two sons: Michael Leon (Electa) Hatch, Pleasant Grove; and Donald Leland Hatch, Pleasant Grove; daughter, Janice Messersmith, Salt Lake; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; baby daughter, Kathy Lynn Hatch; sister, Marba Keetch, infant sister, Elaine Hatch; and brother, Eldon Hatch. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 15, 2004, at 11 a.m., in the Northfield Sixth Ward Chapel, 405 West 1300 North, Pleasant Grove. Henry, Lawrence L. Lawrence L Henry, Sr. born July 4, 1922, Vernal, Utah, died December 12, 2004, in Orem, Utah. Lawrence grew up in Vernal and Union. He joined the CC Camp for four years when he was 17 years old. He was stationed in Italy during WWII and served there for 3 years as a cook and machine gunner. He fought for and loved freedom. He married Addie Pauline Smith, December 10, 1949, who preceded him in death, February 1, 1996. They have five children, Larry (Judy), Altamont, Barney, Orem, Leora Lorraine, Ferron, Jane Henry, American Fork and Leona (Dave) Riley, Centerville, 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He is very proud of his grandsons, Heath, Nathan and Kenneth, who are currently serving in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed the simple things of life; fishing and hunting, being in the mountains and looking for lost treasures. He was a very hard worker and Carpenter Union member for over 40 years. Jeff was born February 13, 1960 in American Fork, Utah to Harris Lee and Mary LaVee Marshall. He grew up in Spanish Fork and attended schools in Spanish Fork and Orem. Jeff loved hot rod cars and was a steel worker. Jeff is survived by his daughter, Amber Marshall; mother, Mary; brothers, Terry, Robert, Tom, Greg, and Kirby; sisters, Susan, Marjorie, and Nancy; and also many nieces and nephews. Martenson, Brett Micheal Brett Micheal Martenson, born in Seattle, Washington, March 28, 1965, passed away peacefully, at his home in Orem, on December 9, 2004. Brett will be remembered for his love of fishing Strawberry Reservoir andthe Weber River. He alsoloved music andanimals, especially his many cats and pet bird. They loved him in return. After graduating from high school in Seattle, he attended community college in broadcasting and was aDJ in Seattle before moving to Utah. He worked at Stogie's, where he made many friends who will dearly miss him. Hewas preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his mother and a sister. Roberts, Lee Roy Lee Roy Roberts Lehi - Lee Roy Roberts, age 82 of Orem, formerly of Lehi, died Sunday, Dec. 12, 2004 at his home of congestive heart failure. He was born July 14, 1922 in Lehi, Utah son of Millard J. and Martha Ann Helquist Roberts. He married June Kathleen Guyman in August, 1957. Marriage later solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple. Lee was a steel worker at U.S. Steel, Geneva. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II. He was a member of the LDS Church, having served as High Priest Group Leader and Secretary. He was president of Lakecrest Condominium Association and had been a member of the World War II Veterans Association. Survived by two sons and one daughter, Ronald L. (Pamela) Roberts, Avon, OH; Scott Donald (Donna) Jewkes, Colorado Springs, CO; Susan K. Chilton, West Jordan, UT; 14 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, and three brothers. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. in the Suncrest 9th Ward Chapel, 130 N. 400 W., Orem, where family and friends may call one hour prior to services. Roundy, Addie Rae Webb Addie Rae Webb Roundy, 82, of Pleasant Grove passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 12, 2004 at her home. She was born November 15, 1922 in Panguitch, Utah to Arlo and Ida Hatch Webb. She married Douglas R. Houston in 1942. Douglas passed away in 1971. She married John "Whit" Roundy on June 16, 1984. Whit passed away in July of this year. Addie grew up in Panguitch and attended school there. After her marriage to Doug, they made their home in Costa Mesa, CA where they raised their children. They later moved to Pleasant Grove. Addie loved her family and looked forward to reunions each year. She enjoyed fishing and traveling. She is survived by her two daughters: Jeri (Mark) Harding, Eagle Mountain and Nancy Marks, Pleasant Grove; 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Additional survivors include siblings: Gary Webb, Louise Whitlock, and Frankie Barney. Her son, Jed Houston, three brothers, and three sisters, preceded her in death. Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Sumsion, Margaret May Thomas Margaret May Thomas Sumsion Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Margaret Sumsion, died peacefully from congestive heart failure, December 9, 2004, at age 89. Margaret was born on May 26, 1915, in Heber City, Utah, to John Ernest and Lizzie Clyde Thomas. She married Frederick Frank Sumsion on December 8, 1936. Their marriage of 65 years was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple in 1961. Margaret faithfully and selflessly cared for Fred with great love and devotion during his eleven-year battle with Parkinson's Disease and strokes. Margaret was his primary caregiver, providing a wonderful example of marital love to her family. Margaret was an active member of the LDS Church and served in many positions, including ward and stake Relief Society President, and fulfilled many teaching assignments. Her great examples and a firm testimony of the gospel were an inspiration to her family and many friends. She was very generous with her time and means. She was a wonderful homemaker and never wasted a minute. She was known for her wonderful meals, served on clean, white linen, china and crystal. She would let the grandchildren "help" knead the bread dough and continued making "Grandma's" rolls long after she lost most of her eyesight. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Fred; daughter, Madeline; three brothers and one sister. She is survived by her children: Frank Sumsion Jr. (Earla Gay), Ann Clarke (Wayne), Ernest Ray Sumsion (Terri), Mark Thomas Sumsion (Jan), son-in-law, James Westover; and brother, Oran Thomas (Louise); plus twenty-two grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank all those who helped Mom in her later years: her boys in the basement; her 12th ward friends who continued to visit her; her friends and staff at "Cove Point;" her physician, Dr. Vaughn Welch; and the compassionate employees of Harmony Health and Hospice, who provided her with loving care to the end. Tolbert, Russell Troy Russell Troy Tolbert February 16, 1962 ~ December 11, 2004 Russell Troy Tolbert, much loved husband, father, son, brother, and son-in-law, passed away December 11, 2004 from a snowmobile / avalanche accident. He was born February 16, 1962 in Salt Lake City. Troy is survived by his wife and sweetheart, Corilyn (Nixon) and the "joys of his life" daughter, Candice, and sons Tyler and Trevor, all of Alpine, Utah; his loving parents, Stanley and Beth Tolbert of Santa Clara, Utah; brothers Keven (Tracie) Tolbert, Sandy, Utah and Tracy (Debbie) Tolbert, Heber City, Utah; special father and mother- in-law, Tom and Marilyn Nixon of Alpine, Utah; brothers & sisters-in-law, Melissa (Gradon) Knotts, Mt. View, California; Gordon (Kim) Nixon, West Jordan, Utah; Rynn (Tanna) Nixon, Tooele, Utah; Gary (Rebekah) Nixon, Highland, Utah; Shanae (Kahle) Leavitt, Lake Oswego, Oregon; and 20 nieces and nephews who adored their fun and crazy uncle. Troy was fortunate enough to have met his soul-mate and best friend, Corilyn, in the very town he grew up in, Alpine. They married in the Jordan River Temple for time and all eternity and began their journey together. Troy was an incredible father and an endearing husband, he found no greater joy than when he was with his family. He was adventurous and young at heart, enjoying everything from boating with his family to hunting with his dad and brothers. Troy is a graduate of American Fork High School, where he was an accomplished athlete. He was an employee of Hallmark Homes for 20 years, and became a co-owner in 2001. Troy was able to touch the lives of so many through service in his church callings and in the community. He always found a way to bless the lives of those he served, whether by building a wheelchair ramp for a friend, or visiting a young man that needed his load lightened. Troy had the ability to spread joy with his contagious laughter and spontaneous wit. He is loved and respected by his family, many friends, and neighbors and will be dearly missed. Wathen, Gudrun Gudrun Wathen Lehi - Gudrun Johnsen Wathen, age 100 of Lehi, died Dec. 12, 2004 in Lehi, Utah of causes incident to age. She was born June 22, 1904 in Tonsborg, Norway, daughter of Otto Engwald and Jorginia Hermenson Johnsen. She married Merriel William Wathen, June 18, 1925 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died June 18, 1987. Gudrun was the Lehi City Librarian for 27 years. She was a member of the LDS Church, having served as a missionary in Wisconsin, a teacher in Relief Society, Secretary of the Sunday School, and as a genealogy researcher. She loved her garden and grew beautiful roses. Survived by three sons and one daughter, Orlin (Bernadee), Boyd (Joyce), and Darlene (Jack) Gray, all of Lehi; Merriel (JoAnn), Ephraim; 18 grandchildren; 68 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 3 sisters, 4 brothers, a granddaughter, great-granddaughter, and great-grandson. Funeral, Thursday, 11:00 a.m. in the Wing Mortuary chapel, 118 E.
