Lynn was born November 13, 1956 in Provo, Utah to Leon and Joy Hansen Christmas. On November 25, 1983, he married Shaunna Wagstaff of Lehi, Utah. They are the parents of two children, Zeb L. and Kati Marie. Lynn was a cowboy to the core. No one knows whether a photo was ever taken of Lynn without a cowboy hat shading his eyes. He took his first footsteps following his dad around the farm, and never took another path. Early on, he mounted a pony, and along with the dogs, rode around the farm. His life revolved around his family, and his animals and farm in Lake Shore, Utah. He needed nothing else to make him happy. Lynn served as President of the Springville Livestock Association and served on the Board of the Spanish Fork Grazing, LLC. Lynn leaves behind his sweet wife, Shaunna; his two children, Zeb and Kati; his mother, Joy Christmas; and a brother, Allan (Armeda) Christmas. He was preceded in death by his father, Leon Christmas, and his sister, LuAnn Christmas Mikesell. Funeral services will be Thursday, December 30, 2004 at 11 a.m. in the Lake Shore 1st Ward Chapel, 5916 South 3200 West. Friends may call on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Walker Family Mortuary, 187 South Main, Spanish Fork, and on Thursday at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Denham, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, 86, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2004. He was born on September 18, 2004, in Iola, Kansas, to Edith Kathryn Lundberg and Charles Otto Crumley. He was the youngest of five children. Because of his mother's poor health, the family moved to Holbrook, Arizona. Following the untimely death of his mother, Ross was adopted by Willard P. Denham and Lovina Brinkerhoff and was raised and educated in Snowflake, Arizona. Ross has been a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a young man, he served as a missionary in the North Central States Mission. He also served as a member of the branch presidency in the Verde Valley Branch of the California Mission and the Roswell, New Mexico Branch. He later served in numerous leadership positions in Provo, Utah, including Bishop of University Ward, Utah Stake, bishop's counselor, high councilman, counselor to the stake president, stake president of the Utah Stake and regional representative in the Springville and Heber City areas. Ross also served as a sealer in the Provo, New Zealand, and Mt. Timpanogos temples. Ross married Clara Lock Parker on June 6, 1944, and they were happily married for more than 60 years. They made their home in Provo, Utah, for many years where they were active in both church and civic activities. Ross was a charter member of the Utah Lake Lions, a member of Phi Delta Kappa, member of Timpanogos Kiwanis Club, numerous community boards and committees. He was a life-long supporter of young people, serving as vice-chairman of the Provo Region Boy Scouts. He was later awarded the Boy Scouts' Silver Beaver Award for his scouting service. He also received numerous awards for his service to the community, including the Distinguished Service Award presented by the Utah County Council of Governments and the Distinguished Alumni Award presented by Brigham Young University. Ross was elected a member of the Utah State Board of Education in 1978 and served for four years. Ross served in the military in World War II as part of the 274 Infantry Division of the 7th Army and saw combat action in France and Germany. Ross participated in the GI Bill and graduated with a B.A. degree from Brigham Young University. Following a Master's degree from BYU, he was employed by the Provo City School District for over 30 years. As both a teacher and administrator, Ross always had a profound dedication to the educational opportunities and welfare of the students. Ross was the principal of Provost and Wasatch Elementary Schools, assistant principal at Provo High School and Assistant Superintendent. He retired from the Provo City School District in 1979. Ross is survived by his beloved wife, Clara Lock Parker. He is also survived by three sons: Paul L. Denham (Marcia), of Littleton, Colorado; Larry R. Denham (Sue), of Farmington, Utah; Reid L. Denham (Gail), of South Pasadena, California; 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the medical professionals at Lakeview Hospital, the University of Utah Medical Center, the Surgical Intensive Care Unit, and the Salt Lake Regional Medical Center for their service to Ross. In addition, special appreciation is expressed to the administration and staff at The Inn on Barton Creek for their tireless care and assistance to both Ross and Clara. Funeral services will be held at Noon on Tuesday, December 28, 2004, at Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary, 727 North 400 East, Bountiful, Utah, where friends may call from 10-11:30 a.m. prior to services. Eickbush, Daniel "Papa" Daniel Loren Eickbush, age 31, died December 23, 2004, at his home. Dan was born September 17, 1973, in Bethesda, Maryland, to Francis Delano and Candyce Lee Morasch Eickbush. He married Jennifer Marie Warner, August 30, 2001, in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple. Dan grew up in Anchorage, Alaska, where he participated in high school sports and also earned his Eagle Scout Award. He received his Associates Degree from Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne, WY. He served as a missionary in Las Vegas West Mission and has served in various church callings. Dan enjoyed hockey, especially the Colorado Avalanche, was a Denver Broncos' fan, and loved outdoor activities. Most of all, Dan enjoyed spending time with his precious daughter. Survived by his wife, Jen; daughter, McKinley Eickbush (7 months); parents, Fran & Pauline Eickbush, Lindon, Utah; grandmother, Eleanor Morasch, Cheyenne, WY; two brothers: Greg (Chikako) Eickbush, Warren, NJ; and David (Melanie) Eickbush, Pleasant Grove, UT; step-sisters: Valerie, Michelle, and Colleen Johnson, of Salt Lake City; and Monica, Costa Mesa, CA. Marion Cluff Higley, 88, of Alpine/Pleasant Grove, died December 22, 2004 in Pleasant Grove. He was born February 6, 1916 in Erda, Utah to Oliver Asa and Henrietta Cartwright Higley. He married Alona Wulffenstein, June 6, 1935 in St. George, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was active in the LDS Church, serving with his wife at the Utah State Training School Branch for 21 years. He worked as a mechanic. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. He always treated everyone fairly and was honest in his dealings. He is survived by a daughter Virginiaette Forte, Pleasant Grove; 3 sons, Leonard Gene (Jana) Higley, Lehi, Ray Oliver Higley, Oregon, Lawrence James (Ardith) Higley, Tooele; 27 grandchildren, over 40 great grandchildren and some great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Alona, 2 sons, his parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Published in the Daily Herald on 12/28/2004. Hofheins, Cloyd C. Cloyd C. Hofheins passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, December 27, 2004. He was born on November 17, 1924 in Levan, Utah to Clarence Lee Hofheins and Minnie Elease Hofheins, the third of six children. He attended Salt Lake City public schools and graduated from West High School in 1942. He continued his education at the University of Utah where he courted and married his High School sweetheart Lucile Joan Lloyd. He received a Baccalaureate degree in Biological Sciences and finished a Medical Doctorate in 1948. He was successful in a wide range of private and military professional positions and activities. He was admired by patients and colleagues alike. As the Director of the Student Health Center at Brigham Young University, he initiated programs that benefited countless students. He retired from full-time medical practice in 1988. His love was his family. As a father of seven sons and three daughters, he supported his children in all of their endeavors including education, sports, music, and business. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he diligently fulfilled many callings and with his wife served medical missions to the Philippines, Brazil and an LDS Social Service mission in Utah. He was preceded in death by his oldest son Steven. He is survived by his wife Joan, and his children Christine (John Donaldson), Bryan (Arden), Carolyn (Fred Howard), Timothy (RuthAnn), Leonard (Deborah), Lucile (Allen Anderson), Gordon (Rebecca), Clarence (Kristyn), and Nathan (Lisa). His brother Grant A. (Carol) Hofheins, sister Joanne (Stan Vaughn), 47 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren also survive. Markham, Grace Afton Losee Grace Afton Losee Markham 1916 - 2004 Grace Afton Losee Markham, age 88, passed away December 26, 2004 at her daughter's home in Genola, Utah. She was born July 28, 1916 in Spanish Fork, Utah to Burton Charles and Edna Grace Hardy Losee. She married Henry Rodger Markham November 19, 1934 in Spanish Fork and their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo Temple. Henry died March 19, 1970. Grace was educated in Spanish Fork and was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had a great talent for quilting, knitting, and crocheting. She enjoyed traveling with her family and especially enjoyed the last few years with her loved ones. She worked for Utah Poultry and then for the State Hospital in Provo until her retirement. She will be greatly missed by her family: LaDona (John Terrell) Isaacson, Genola; Majel (Truman) Hood, Beaver Dam, AZ; Arlene (Wayne) Peterson, Spanish Fork; Thayne L. (Robin) Markham, St. George; 29 grandchildren, 70 great grandchildren, 13 great great grandchildren; one sister, Elva Knight, Payson; and two sisters-in-law, Cleo Losee and Thelma Losee. She is preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, Verl and Roland Losee, and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 30th at 11:00 a.m. in the Genola LDS Chapel (at the corner of Center and Main). Newitt, Beth Whittaker Beth Whittaker Newitt Our loving mother and grandmother, Beth Whittaker Newitt, 84, of Spanish Fork, Utah, peacefully passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2004 in Provo, Utah. She was born September 5, 1920 in Benjamin, Utah to Earl Curle and Laura Jane Dimick Whittaker. She married Cliff Tadd Newitt on September 4, 1940 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in death. Beth attended schools in Garfield and Magna. She retired from Beehive Clothing after several years of service. Her hobbies were quilting, handcrafting, and her family. She always said, "nothing is more important than your family". She was active in the LDS Church and served faithfully in all her callings. Beth is survived by her children: Clea (Frank) Headman of Springville, Cherie (Gary) Roylance of Spanish Fork, Jerry W. (Sandra) Newitt of Elk Ridge, Becky (Michael) Wilson of Payson; son-in-law, Richard Petersen of Hawaii; 20 grandchildren, 31, great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother and three sisters: Helen Beckstrom of Payson, Marie Youd of Spanish Fork, Mural Whittaker of Kearns, and Cleo Whittaker of Salt Lake City. She was preceded in death by her husband; two children: Mabel Petersen and Allen C. Newitt; and grandson, Joseph Franklin Headman. Olsen, Carl Dean Carl Dean Olsen, our beloved friend, husband, father and grandfather, died December 25, 2004 with complications from cancer. He was born March 26, 1926 to Leslie and Cora Olsen of Santaquin, Utah. He served in the US Navy Submarine Service during World War II. He married Louise Peck and had three children; Barbara (Dave) Bond, Brad (Shari Ann) Olsen and Mark Olsen. They later divorced. In 1977 he married Carol Bame Taylor, who had two children; Danyell Taylor Fritz and Richard (Liz) Taylor. Together they have eighteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. His love for life was fishing and hunting with his wife, kids and friends, and trap shooting where he won several state championship titles over the years. A friend to all and to anyone who crossed his path. He was generous to a fault and shared thoughts of humor to anyone he came in touch with. He truly will be missed by all. Carl worked at Geneva Steel for thirty years. In 1978 he started work as a mail carrier for the US Postal Service. He then retired to fishing, working in his yard and enjoying life. He is survived by his wife, Carol; five children, fourteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Lynn (Mary) Olsen and Richard (Judy) Olsen. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Jean, four grandchildren and a nephew, Gregory Olsen. He fought a courageous battle with cancer. His passing will leave a great void in our family. Dick was born on May 12, 1937 to Don and Burl Frost Provstgaard in Payson, Utah. He attended Peteetneet Elementary School, Payson Jr. High and graduated from Payson High School in 1955. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints. He married his high school sweetheart, Marian Jermain, on September 17, 1955 in Payson. They are the parents of three daughters and three sons. He worked as a drywall contractor for 40 years. He loved to farm, hunt, fish and spend time with his family. He is survived by: his wife, Marian; five children, Bobbie Dawn (Kevin) Norton, Orem; Chris (Debbie) Provstgaard, Payson; Bart (Stacy) Provstgaard, Santaquin; Greg (Hillary) Provstgaard, Silverton, Oregon; Michele (Bryan) Smith, Kelso, Washington; 14 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; a brother and two sisters, Robert Provstgaard, Murray; Peggy Warr, Ogden; and Mary Lou (Boyd) Johnson, Springville. Shoell, Peggy Lou Weathers Shoell Peggy passed away Christmas morning 2004. Peggy was born Oct 25, 1927 in Shawnee, OK to Irvin Hiest and Roberta Rebecca Stout Weathers. She married Verl Clarence Shoell on June 8, 1952. He died in 1993. She was a happy person, a complete optimist, and felt that she lived a charmed life. Survived by 2 children, Patty Lou (Steven) Cook, Robyn Claire (Steve) Masterson, a stepson, Verl Gene (Viola) Shoell, 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and a brother, John Weathers. Spainhower, Ila Lindstrom Ila Lindstrom Spainhower Our dear, sweet mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and aunt who always thought of others and not herself, passed away peacefully at her home, Sunday, Dec 26, 2004. She was born Aug 9, 1914 in Santaquin, Utah to David B. and Clara Openshaw Lindstrom. She married William Edward Spainhower (Bill) on Nov 29, 1933. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple, Oct 11, 1945. Bill passed away Nov 29, 1958. She was a member of the LDS Church and served in many callings including extraction and temple work. After her husband died, she worked at Smith Drug Store until she was 70 years old. Her family meant everything to her. She spent many hours working on genealogy, histories and scrapbooks and left a legacy of information. She also loved doing handiwork. She is survived by her son, Bill (Pat) Spainhower and daughter Janice (Arlen) Adamson both of American Fork; brother David Lindstrom (Lorna) of Bountiful; 6 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter, 2 great-great grandsons. Preceded in death by her husband, her daughter, Susan, her parents, 2 sisters and a great grandson, Jake. She was loved and admired by all of her family and will be missed.
