Curtis N. Butler Curtis Nelson Butler, 82, of Eureka, Utah died November 17, 2004 in Payson, Utah. He was born January 14, 1922 in Spring Lake, Utah to Amel and Albina Clemons Butler. He married Mabel Randle April 14, 1946 in Eureka. She died July 30, 2004. Curtis was a member of the Eureka United Methodist Church, a member of the Order of Eastern Star Tintic Chapter # 18, a member of the Tintic Lodge # 9 Free and Accepted Masons, a member of the Provo York Rite Chapter # 4 RAM, A Member of the El Kalah A.A.O.N.M.S. of Salt Lake City. Curtis was a Life Member of the Elks Tintic Lodge #711, and a member of the American Legion. He was also a Member of the Eureka Senior Citizens Young at Heart Group, serving as President. He also was a former Eureka City Mayor. Curtis was raised in Dividend and often talked about his youthful adventures growing up there. He attended Payson schools, graduating from Payson High School and attended the University of Utah until he was enlisted in the US Navy during World War II. He served as a radar man on the USS Block Island. He worked as a mechanic for Randles Service until it closed. He then worked for McIntyre Ranch in Leamington until retirement. He is survived by a brother, Carl Butler and his wife Beth; by two daughters and their husbands, Sandra J. and Jay Evans, of Eureka, Utah; Barbara A. and Russ Nelson of Johnson City, Tennessee; two sons, Randle C. Butler, Murray, Utah, Charles A. Butler, Benson, Utah; one granddaughter, four grandsons and two great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and a sister. A memorial service will be held at the Eureka United Methodist Church in Eureka on Saturday, November 20th at 11:00 a.m. followed by military rites and a dedication of the grave at the Eureka City Cemetery, under the direction of Holladay-Brown Funeral Home, Santaquin. Davenport, Howard Miller Howard Miller Davenport Howard Miller Davenport, 73, of Orem, Utah, passed away on November 18, 2004. He was born February 7, 1931, in Portland, Oregon, to Franklin Lufkin and Lovenia Ellen Miller Davenport. Howard's family moved to Provo, Utah, when he was eight years old. He attended Timpanogos Elementary School, Dixon Jr. High and graduated from Provo High School in 1949. As a young man he built race cars that were raced at the Bonneville Salt Flats. In 1952 he married Janice Spencer. They later divorced. On June 24, 1960, he married Dee Ann Adamson in the Salt Lake Temple. He attended BYU for one year, then went to work at Geneva Steel for a summer and stayed 37 years. He was a member of the Army National Guard - 28-932720 118th Engineer Co. - American Fork - for three years and 28-932720 116th Engineer Co. - Springville - for three years. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints, serving in many positions over the years. He was a jack-of-all-trades' handy man. He loved to garden and many people enjoyed receiving the vegetables he grew. He hunted, reloaded his own gun shells, collected guns and rode his motorcycle out in the west desert. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Dee Ann, a son, Terry Davenport, three daughters, Shar (Richard) Christensen, Colette (Cory) Nielson, Deniece (Jared) Oates, 13 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, one brother, Edmund (Sharlene) Davenport and one sister, Alice (Paul) Wright and many loving nieces, and nephews. Howard was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law and one brother, Byron. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 22, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. in the Sharon Park 1st Ward, 310 North 100 East, Orem, Utah. A viewing will be held in his honor, Sunday, November 21st, 2004, at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem, and at the Sharon Park 1st Ward one hour prior to the services. Harvey, Casey Casey Harvey 10-12-63 - 11-17-04 Casey Harvey, 41 passed away November 17, 2004. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 22, 2004 at the Lehi Cedar Hollow 1st Ward, 600 E. 1600 N. Lehi, Utah. Johnson, Nena Richins Nena Richins Johnson Nena Elizabeth Richins Johnson, 84, passed away Thursday, November 18, 2004 at her home surrounded by family. She was born November 29, 1919 in Orem, Utah, the first child of Ellis William and Sarah Darlene Barrett Richins. She married Fay R Johnson October 15, 1938 in Provo, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Together they are the parents of five children. Nena attended school in Provo and graduated from Provo High School. She was active in the LDS Church, serving in various callings; her favorite being in the Primary. She loved music and performed with many groups including The Chauntenette Choir and Gay 90's. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her devoted example of service and her strength were evident in all she did; including beating the odds and surviving breast cancer. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her children: Joyce Ann Bunting, Pasa Robles, CA; William R. Johnson, Murray, UT; David F. (June) Johnson, Salem, UT; J. Neil (Marilyn) Johnson, Orem, UT; and Jerry R. (Jeanie) Johnson, Pleasant Grove, UT; and by 17 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Max E. (Marie) Richins, UT; LaVell D. Richins, Wallsburg, UT; June Krueger, St. George, UT; W. Fred (Pam) Richins, West Jordan, UT; Deon (Cordell) Baird, Syracuse, UT; and M. Arlene (Gary) Moberly, Yuma, AZ. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 22, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the Salem 12th Ward Chapel, 160 South 460 West, with a viewing from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services. A viewing will also be held Sunday, November 21, 2004 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Orem Timpview 10th Ward, 950 West 1200 North. Interment will be in the Orem City Cemetery. O'Connor, Johnny Ray Johnny Ray O'Connor Our beloved Husband, Father, and grandfather, age 59, returned home to Heavenly Father, and parents on Friday November 19th, 2004. He has gone to paint murals in heaven and build a mansion for the rest of his family. Johnny was born to Timothy Ray and Ilora Block O'Connor on August 18th, 1945, in Globe, AZ. Johnny was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission in the Hill Cumorah mission. He returned home and graduated from Northern Arizona University. Johnny married Martha Joann Montgomery in the Mesa Temple on January 27th, 1968. Johnny could often be seen painting, building, designing, reading, fathering, telling stories to his grandchildren, and serving everyone in which he came in contact. Johnny is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Martha, children, Reid (Sae) O'Connor, Jason (Susan) O'Connor, Joseph Aaron O'Connor, Boyd (Jessica) O'Connor, Maureen (James) Crismon, Merideth O'Connor, and ten grandchildren. A viewing will be held at the Anderson Bros. Mortuary, at 49 E. 100 N. American Fork on Sunday Nov 21, 2004 from 6:00-8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at the mortuary, on Monday Nov 22nd. She was born May 5, 1922, in Pleasant Grove, to Carl Antone and Isabelle Elnora Nielsen Nelson. She later married Charles Rosier. Ruby loved to ride horses and was a member of several riding clubs including the Silver Spurs. She was a loving mother of three, and also enjoyed cooking and music. Survived by 2 sons, Mike (Connie) Conder, American Fork; Dan (Diane) Howard, Portland, OR; 1 daughter, Heidi (John) Blanken, Ogden; 10 grandchildren; and 1 sister, LaRue Novak, Sandy. Funeral services will be Monday, Nov. 22, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. in the Wing Mortuary chapel, 118 E. Main, Lehi, where friends may call one hour prior to services.
