She was born October 3, 1913 on the Provo Bench to Vern T. and Hazeldell Kimber Gillman. She married Harris B. Chipman on October 27, 1932. Their marriage was solemnized on their 50th wedding anniversary in the Provo LDS Temple. Virginia grew up in Lindon and attended schools in both Lindon and Pleasant Grove. She and Harris made their home on Center Street in Pleasant Grove where they raised their 12 children. Virginia's passion was caring for her children and grandchildren by sewing, making home cooked meals, canning, and gardening. She and Harris enjoyed the winters they spent in Boulder City, Nevada and looked forward to family camping trips. She is survived by 11 of her 12 children: Vern Chipman, Pleasant Grove; Bruce (Susan) Chipman, Pleasant Grove; Hazeldawn Belliston, Sandy; Marcia Ann (Raymond) Smith, Lehi; Jerald (Ginny) Chipman, Phoenix; Jeanne (Tony) Evans, Lehi; Steve (Linda) Chipman, Pleasant Grove; Mark (Joan) Chipman, St. George; Kent (Sheila) Chipman, Pleasant Grove; Val (Sharon) Chipman, Pleasant Grove; Gina (Glenn) Tarr, Lehi; siblings: Edna Bott, Pleasant Grove, June (Romain) Clark, Corrine, UT; Clestia (Bob) Newman, St. George; and Garth (Neva) Gillman, Lindon; and over 100 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Harris, son, James and two grandsons, Derrick and TJ. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 29, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in the Timpanogos Stake Center, 800 North 100 West, Pleasant Grove. Friends may call Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove and at the church on Monday one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinfamilymortuary.com.
