She was born in Ephraim, Utah to Enoch and Elvira Nielson Jorgenson on July 19, 1917. She was raised in Ephraim, Utah, where she graduated from High School and attended Snow College. Later she graduated from Henager Business School, and afterwards worked in Salt Lake City for a number of years. She was married to Cline Black in Austin, Nevada September 6, 1941 and their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on the 5th of December, 1944 while World War II was in progress. They lived in Princeton, New Jersey, for two years where she was employed by the Princeton University Press. While there, her husband pursued a Ph.D. and carried out several projects for the development of the Manhattan Project. Flora and Cline later lived in northern California for some 29 year, then in Houston, Texas for five years, and in southern California for nine years. In 1986 they retired and moved to Provo, Utah. She was actively involved in church work until later when health problems interfered, having served in the Primary, Sunday School, MIA, and the Relief Society organizations. She was the fourth in a family of seven children of Enoch and Elvira Jorgenson. She was preceded in death by two brothers (Val and Ralph) and two sisters (Letha and Vera). She is survived by two brothers, Glen Dale and Floyd. She is survived by her husband Cline to whom she was married for 63 years, and her children, Tom (wife Ruth) in Arlington, Texas, Sheri (husband Bob) in Placentia, California, and Rick (wife Jill) in Sandy, Utah. She is the grandmother of eleven and great-grandmother of four. She touched many and was loved deeply by all her family, and all who were privilege to know her. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 23, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Edgemont 11th Ward chapel, 3050 Mojave Lane, Provo, Utah. A viewing will be held Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 E. Center Street, as well as Saturday morning at the church, one hour prior to services. She will be laid to rest at East Lawn Memorial Hills in Provo, Utah. The grave will be dedicated by her eldest son, Tom Black. Jones, Dolores Villa Dolores Villa Jones, 42, lived in Springville, UT. Date: She died on Monday, October 18, 2004 in her home. Personal Information: Loli (as she was known by her friends), was born October 3, 1962 in Huelva, Spain. She was the first person to be baptized in the LDS church in her city, a true pioneer and example to others who later joined the LDS church. She served a mission in Barcelona, Spain where she continued to enrich the lives of many. Loli married Lawrence Richard Rick Jones on March 10, 1988 in Huelva, Spain. On April 1 of that year they were sealed in the Los Angeles Temple. She moved with him to Provo, UT, where she supported him through school and raised four sons. They later moved to Springville where she continued to serve the Lord and her family with love and devotion. Survived by: Her husband Rick survives her along with her four sons, Alexander N., Stephen D., Daniel J. and Nathaniel R. She is also survived by her parents, Juan Villa Salguero and Ana Rodriquez Aliquino, two brothers, Juan Manuel and David and her beloved sister Ana Marie. A sister, Apolonia, preceded her in death. Funeral Services: Berg Mortuary in Provo is handling the arrangements. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 23, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in the Spring Creek 15th Ward Chapel, 760 North 400 East, Springville, Utah. Mower, Sheri Ann Williams Sheri Williams Mower, age 42, a beloved wife, daughter, sister, and mother to four great children, passed away on October 18, 2004 after a battle with breast cancer. Sheri was born on December 15, 1961 to Robert and Clarice Williams in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the eldest of three children. She spent her early childhood in Salt Lake City and later moved with her family to Boise, Idaho. Sheri was an honor student at Capitol High School as well as a member of their award winning drill team. She attended Brigham Young University with two majors: one in English, the other in Marriage and Family Science. After graduating from BYU, Sheri worked in Washington, D.C. as a legislative assistant to a U.S. Senator from Idaho. She then served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Seoul West Mission in Seoul, Korea. Sheri cherished the time she spent sharing the gospel with the Korean people. She was a faithful member of the LDS Church and enjoyed her service in the Young Women and Primary Organizations. Sheri graduated from the University of Utah College of Law, where, thanks to her academic achievements, she was named to the Order of the Coif. She was an attorney with the law firm of Wood Crapo in Salt Lake City. Sheri met her future husband, Michael Mower, while they were both attending the University of Utah College of Law. They were married on Oct. 20, 1992 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Sheri and Michael are fortunate to have four wonderful children: Mallory, age 11; Christian, age eight; Mary Abigail (Abby), age six; and Alex, age five. She was known for her love of the holidays, the great family parties she hosted and her strong faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ. More than anything in the world, Sheri loved her children, family, friends and her faith. Sheri is survived by her husband and children; her father, Robert (Pam) Williams, Boise, ID; sister, Christy (Blake) Williams, Meridian, ID.; brother Eric, Meridian, ID; aunt Blanche Stoll, Salt Lake City; and many loving in-laws and cousins. Preceded in death by her mother, Clarice Williams. The family extends a sincere thanks to the many extended family members and friends, medical personnel, members of the Lakeside First Ward, and the employees of the Wood Crapo law firm and the Provo City Mayors Office who have done so much to assist Sheri and her family during her long illness. Peterson, Marjorie Denise Schofield Madison, WI ¥ Marjorie Denise Schofield Peterson, age 84, of 6 Quarterdeck Drive, Madison, Wisconsin, died of cancer at a local hospice on Tuesday, October 12, 2004, just days after it was diagnosed. She was born on December 23, 1919 in Provo, Utah. She married Clinton E. Peterson of Vernal, Utah on August 23, 1945 in the Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mrs. Peterson was educated at Brigham Young University and became secretary to the Governor of Utah before she was married. The Petersons lived in Ames, Iowa while her husband completed his PhD. in Horticulture at Iowa State University. In 1954, they moved to Okemos, Michigan where he was on the faculty of Michigan State University. In 1968, her husband joined the faculty at the University of Wisconsin, where he worked until his death in 1987. She continued to be active and to live in her home until two weeks before her passing. Throughout her life, Mrs. Peterson was committed to Christian service. She was undaunted by her trials, often unknown to others, and bore them without complaint. She was a volunteer at her church her entire life, including acting as president of the women's organization, the Relief Society for 23 consecutive years while in Michigan and Wisconsin. She was known for her administrative skills and capacity to serve, spending endless hours on the telephone to counsel and support those in need. She enjoyed baking, sewing and doing jigsaw puzzles, but there nearly always seemed to be a pressing call or a visit, a meal or a service to provide that took precedence over her own interests and comforts. She embodied faith and Christian virtues to all who knew her. She was committed to community service, and during more than ten years served as the President of The Wisconsin Friends of Public Broadcasting, giving input and voicing concern for quality radio programming. She also joined the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill and actively supported its causes during two decades. Mrs. Peterson had five children and enjoyed raising her family. She was interested in learning of those who were pioneers among her ancestors, gathered genealogical records of her family, and she regularly traveled with friends to the LDS Chicago Temple to give service. She is survived by her daughter, Denise of Madison, WI; four sons Joel (Diana Hulme) of Salt Lake City, Ted of Los Angeles, Dan (Lisa Tietjen) of Tualatin, Oregon and Tom (Kriste Bird) of Tualatin, Oregon, 20 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on October 27 at 4:00 p.m. at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, located at 200 "N" Street, Salt Lake City, UT. Simonsen, Anna L. Anna L. Simonsen, 72, beloved wife, mother, grandmother & great-grandmother, passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2004 with her family by her side after a 6 month battle with cancer. Ann was born on January 14, 1932 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She was raised in Arkansas and Texas. It was in Texas that she met the love of her life, Air Force officer Waldo M. "Si" Simonsen of Emery, UT in 1949. Ann and Si were sealed in the Manti, Utah Temple in 1958 and are the proud parents of 5 children, 18 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. They raised their family in Virginia. They moved to Utah in 1993. Ann was a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a strong testimony her entire life. She served in many capacities including RS President. Ann was a faithful temple worker in the Manti and Provo Temples for many years. Ann was a loving homemaker. After her children were grown she worked in the order processing department of Family Fashions by Avon at their corporate headquarters. Ann is survived by her children, Barbara (John) Sehestedt of Emery, UT, Pamela (Bill) Lovell of Wellington, FL, Mark (Toni) Simonsen of Provo, UT, Jon (Molly) Simonsen of Elk Ridge, UT, and Eric (Petit) Simonsen of New Market, AL. Ann is preceded in death by her husband and parents. A viewing will be held Friday, October 22, 2004, from 6-8 p.m. at Walker Mortuary of Spanish Fork, 187 South Main. Thatcher, Richard William Richard William Thatcher, age 60, lost his valiant fight against cancer on October 19, 2004. He was born August 6, 1944 in Mason City, Iowa, a son of William and Vera Grace Hall Thatcher. He married his forever sweetheart, Kathryn L. Woods on August 7, 1964 in the Logan Temple. Richard graduated from Orem High School, and in 1966 earned a degree from BYU. He served in the National Guard for 10 years. He enjoyed working in the laboratory at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, where he had been employed for 41 years. He was a remarkable husband, brother, son, father, grandfather and friend. He will always be remembered for his integrity, kindness, gentle nature and zest for life. He loved Autumn, rain, restoring old cars, and time spent with family and friends. He was loved and admired by so many. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife Kathie of Orem; a son, Todd (Shanna) Thatcher; daughters, Michelle L. Morris; and Kimberlie (Victor) Tafolla; 9 grandchildren, Brittanie L. Thatcher, Gary Tanner Clark, Oaklie K. Young, Victor C. and Alyssa L. Tafolla; Alexis J. Thatcher, Sariah K., Dallin Richard and Aleah Kathryn Morris. He is also survived by 5 brothers, Robert E. Orr, Larry R. Anderson, Dennie L. Markey, Gary L. Thatcher, Donald M. Thatcher, and 1 sister, Janice Spilman. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 23, 2004, at 2:00 p.m., in the Berg Drawing Room Chapel, 185 East Center Street, Provo.
