He returned to the loving arms of his Savior and his mother and grandparents. He was born in Torrance, CA, on September 3, 1959, to Joyce E. and Walter L. Bryant. His mother moved Russell and his sisters to Utah in 1969. He attended Orem High School. He served in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge in 1980. He married Carol Cunningham in 1996. They were later divorced. In 1999, Russell moved to Arkansas. He married his long-time companion, Terri Charpentier, in 2004. She stood by his side and cared for him throughout his illness. Russell is survived by his wife, Terri C. Bryant, of Heber City, UT; his step-father, Wayne C. Duke, of Orem, UT; his sisters, Lindsey M. Bryant, of Springville, UT; and Elizabeth (Thomas) Campbell, of Kearns, UT; his step-brothers, James (Cindy) Duke, of Pocatello, ID; Joseph (Colleen) Duke, of Aurora, CO; and Steven (Lu) Duke, of Maryland; his children, Doyle Keith Olsen, of Springville, UT; Mary Joyce Lacey, of Salt Lake City, UT; Matthew Walker, of Canon City, CO; and Nathaniel Bryant, of Denver, CO; his step-children, Shawn Cunningham, of Orem, UT; Danielle Maedel, of Salt Lake City, UT; Derek Charpentier and Jeremy Charpentier, of Heber City, UT; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Russell O. and Effie Lindsey Erickson; his mother, Joyce E. Duke; his step-sister, Charlotte (Jack) Davies, all of Orem; and by an uncle, Maynard L. Erickson, of Tucson, AZ. Russell was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and anything involving the outdoors or firearms. He was extremely knowledgeable about all types of animal life and enjoyed sharing his knowledge with others. Russell was best known for his outrageous sense of humor, his boisterous laugh, and his love of life. He will be sorely missed by his family and his many friends, both in Utah and in Arkansas. Services will be held Wednesday, October 27, 2004, at 11 a.m., in the Berg Drawing Room Chapel, 185 E. Center Street, Provo, Utah. Interment, Orem City Cemetery. No Farewell Words Were Spoken, No Time To Say Goodbye, You Were Gone Before We Knew It, And Only God Knows Why Clark J Crook, age 81, died October 20,2004 on his beloved farm in Heber Utah. He was born in Logan, Utah, November 10, 1922, the son of William Clark and Kezia Heaton Crook. The family moved to Heber where they farmed. J graduated from Wasatch High School and then attended Utah State University. During WW II, J enlisted in the army and served in the Signal Corps. While training in New Jersey, he met his future wife, Phyllis. He served both in the Pacific and European theaters and when the war ended, he returned to New Jersey where they were married, March 17, 1946, (later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple). The newlyweds returned to Heber to run the family dairy farm. In addition to managing the farm, J worked as a mail carrier, delivering good cheer to those on his route. He also carried on the Crook family tradition of being a volunteer National Weather Observer. J was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served in ward and stake positions and in Scouting. He and Phyllis were called to the Peoria Illinois mission where they served both in Quincy, Illinois and Hannibal Missouri. He was proud of his family and their accomplishments. He was especially proud of his son John who is currently serving in Iraq. He showed his children how to mix hard work with fun and laughter. He was preceded in death by his parents Clark and Kezia Crook, brothers William Esplin and Giles Crook and sister Beth Thurber. He leaves behind his wife Phyllis and six children: Patricia (Ken) Adams Las Vegas, Nevada; Virginia Annie (Kurt) DeGroff Provo, Utah; James (Dixie) Logan, Utah; Susan, Salt Lake City, Utah; John (Terri) Watkins, Colorado; and Thomas (Brenda) Marathon, New York; and 19 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 AM at the Heber 12th Ward, 715 E. 600 So. Friends may call Sunday 6-8 PM at the Olpin-Hoopes Funeral Home. Also Monday at the Church from 9:45-10:45 AM. Drew, Stanley David Stanley David Drew, 69, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away on October 19th, 2004 at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah due to heart failure. Stan was born to Elwood and Aleta Huggard Drew on June 30th, 1935 in Alpine, Utah. He attended school in Alpine and American Fork, Utah. He married his sweetheart, Ava Dean Kesler, on December 17th, 1952 in Coalville, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Provo Temple. Stan and Ava Dean, working side by side, owned and operated several businesses. His keen sense of humor and positive outlook helped Stan throughout his life. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, holding the office of High Priest. Stan is survived by his wife, Ava Dean; his children, Randy (RaNae) Drew of Tyhee, ID, Kim (Leanne) Drew of Pleasant Grove, UT, Deena (Derk) DeWall of Pocatello, ID, and Shan Drew of Orem, Utah; his siblings, LaMar (LaRene) Drew of Alpine, UT, Lee (Connie) Drew of Lindon, UT, and Dorothy (Roy) Loveridge of Alpine, UT; and ten grandchildren. His two sons, Bradley Chris and JoDee, his parents, and brother, Robert Drew, preceded him in death. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 25, 2004 at the Alameda Stake Center. The viewing will be held Sunday, October 24th from 6-8 p.m. at the Alameda Stake Center located at 930 E. Alameda RD and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Featherstone, Mark Stanley Mark Stanley Featherstone, 75, passed away Oct. 20, 2004 of natural causes. He was born in American Fork, Utah on May 31, 1929 to Mark Boley and Rachel Myrtle Greenland Featherstone. He married Elaine Francis Busker on June 3, 1953 in the Salt Lake Temple. She died on Oct. 21, 1991. Mark was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held several callings including a Seventy's group leader and being in the sunday school presidency. He was involved in the Boy Scouts of America and was a Silver Beaver. He also sang in the Utah Valley Good Time Singers and the Mendelison Male Choir. Survived by 4 sons and 3 daughters, John S. of Salt Lake; Keith B. of American Fork; Charles L. of Pelican Rapids, MN; Richard M. of Salt Lake; Laura E. Featherstone of Vernal; Rachel B. Featherstone of West Jordan; and Anne Marie Pedersen of Groton, SD; 35 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, C. Thomas and Lynn Featherstone; 4 sisters, Mary Ray Naylor, Juanita Miller, Arlene Ewell, and Carol Walters. Published in the Daily Herald on 10/22/2004. Lee, Ada Schaerrer Ada Schaerrer Lee, 87, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, October 19, 2004. She was born on August 23, 1917 in Payson, Utah to Geneva Stewart and George Albert Schaerrer. She married her eternal sweetheart, Thomas William Lee, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on October 21, 1937. They are the parents of four children: Robert Thomas (Linda) Lee; Daniel Schaerrer (Connie) Lee; Betsy (Merrill) Jenson; and Nancy (Wallace) Bingham. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After marriage, Ada and Tom moved to Mar Vista, California where they raised their family. Ada served in many church callings, including Relief Society president, Young Womens advisor, and as a temple worker in the Los Angeles Temple. After Toms retirement from Hughes Tool Company, they moved to Provo, Utah. Tom and Ada served two missions for the LDS Church, the first in Santiago, Chile, and then in Buenos Aries, Argentina. When they returned to Provo, they served together as ordinance workers in the Provo Temple. Ada is survived by her husband, children, 22 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Anna Mae Houser of Springville, Utah and Marilyn Meldrum of Kearns, Utah. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Stewart Schaerrer and Russell Schaerrer and by her sister Opal Field. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 23, 2004, at 2:00 p.m., in the Provo Utah Grandview South Stake Center (1122 Grand Avenue). Mower, Sheri Ann Williams Sheri Williams Mower, age 42, a beloved wife, daughter, sister, and mother to four great children, passed away on October 18, 2004 after a battle with breast cancer. Sheri was born on December 15, 1961 to Robert and Clarice Williams in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the eldest of three children. She spent her early childhood in Salt Lake City and later moved with her family to Boise, Idaho. Sheri was an honor student at Capitol High School as well as a member of their award winning drill team. She attended Brigham Young University with two majors: one in English, the other in Marriage and Family Science. After graduating from BYU, Sheri worked in Washington, D.C. as a legislative assistant to a U.S. Senator from Idaho. She then served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Seoul West Mission in Seoul, Korea. Sheri cherished the time she spent sharing the gospel with the Korean people. She was a faithful member of the LDS Church and enjoyed her service in the Young Women and Primary Organizations. Sheri graduated from the University of Utah College of Law, where, thanks to her academic achievements, she was named to the Order of the Coif. She was an attorney with the law firm of Wood Crapo in Salt Lake City. Sheri met her future husband, Michael Mower, while they were both attending the University of Utah College of Law. They were married on Oct. 20, 1992 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Sheri and Michael are fortunate to have four wonderful children: Mallory, age 11; Christian, age eight; Mary Abigail (Abby), age six; and Alex, age five. She was known for her love of the holidays, the great family parties she hosted and her strong faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ. More than anything in the world, Sheri loved her children, family, friends and her faith. Sheri is survived by her husband and children; her father, Robert (Pam) Williams, Boise, ID; sister, Christy (Blake) Williams, Meridian, ID.; brother Eric, Meridian, ID; aunt Blanche Stoll, Salt Lake City; and many loving in-laws and cousins. Preceded in death by her mother, Clarice Williams. The family extends a sincere thanks to the many extended family members and friends, medical personnel, members of the Lakeside First Ward, and the employees of the Wood Crapo law firm and the Provo City Mayors Office who have done so much to assist Sheri and her family during her long illness. Simonsen, 72, beloved wife, mother, grandmother & great-grandmother, passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2004 with her family by her side after a 6 month battle with cancer. Ann was born on January 14, 1932 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She was raised in Arkansas and Texas. It was in Texas that she met the love of her life, Air Force officer Waldo M. "Si" Simonsen of Emery, UT in 1949. Ann and Si were sealed in the Manti, Utah Temple in 1958 and are the proud parents of 5 children, 18 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. They raised their family in Virginia. They moved to Utah in 1993. Ann was a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a strong testimony her entire life. She served in many capacities including RS President. Ann was a faithful temple worker in the Manti and Provo Temples for many years. Ann was a loving homemaker. After her children were grown she worked in the order processing department of Family Fashions by Avon at their corporate headquarters. Ann is survived by her children, Barbara (John) Sehestedt of Emery, UT, Pamela (Bill) Lovell of Wellington, FL, Mark (Toni) Simonsen of Provo, UT, Jon (Molly) Simonsen of Elk Ridge, UT, and Eric (Petit) Simonsen of New Market, AL. Thatcher, Richard William Richard William Thatcher, age 60, lost his valiant fight against cancer on October 19, 2004. He was born August 6, 1944 in Mason City, Iowa, a son of William and Vera Grace Hall Thatcher. He married his forever sweetheart, Kathryn L. Woods on August 7, 1964 in the Logan Temple. Richard graduated from Orem High School, and in 1966 earned a degree from BYU. He served in the National Guard for 10 years. He enjoyed working in the laboratory at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, where he had been employed for 41 years. He was a remarkable husband, brother, son, father, grandfather and friend. He will always be remembered for his integrity, kindness, gentle nature and zest for life. He loved Autumn, rain, restoring old cars, and time spent with family and friends. He was loved and admired by so many. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife Kathie of Orem; a son, Todd (Shanna) Thatcher; daughters, Michelle L. Morris; and Kimberlie (Victor) Tafolla; 9 grandchildren, Brittanie L. Thatcher, Gary Tanner Clark, Oaklie K. Young, Victor C. and Alyssa L. Tafolla; Alexis J. Thatcher, Sariah K., Dallin Richard and Aleah Kathryn Morris. He is also survived by 5 brothers, Robert E. Orr, Larry R. Anderson, Dennie L. Markey, Gary L. Thatcher, Donald M.
