He returned to the loving arms of his Savior and his mother and grandparents. He was born in Torrance, CA, on September 3, 1959, to Joyce E. and Walter L. Bryant. His mother moved Russell and his sisters to Utah in 1969. He attended Orem High School. He served in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge in 1980. He married Carol Cunningham in 1996. They were later divorced. In 1999, Russell moved to Arkansas. He married his long-time companion, Terri Charpentier, in 2004. She stood by his side and cared for him throughout his illness. Russell is survived by his wife, Terri C. Bryant, of Heber City, UT; his step-father, Wayne C. Duke, of Orem, UT; his sisters, Lindsey M. Bryant, of Springville, UT; and Elizabeth (Thomas) Campbell, of Kearns, UT; his step-brothers, James (Cindy) Duke, of Pocatello, ID; Joseph (Colleen) Duke, of Aurora, CO; and Steven (Lu) Duke, of Maryland; his children, Doyle Keith Olsen, of Springville, UT; Mary Joyce Lacey, of Salt Lake City, UT; Matthew Walker, of Canon City, CO; and Nathaniel Bryant, of Denver, CO; his step-children, Shawn Cunningham, of Orem, UT; Danielle Maedel, of Salt Lake City, UT; Derek Charpentier and Jeremy Charpentier, of Heber City, UT; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Russell O. and Effie Lindsey Erickson; his mother, Joyce E. Duke; his step-sister, Charlotte (Jack) Davies, all of Orem; and by an uncle, Maynard L. Erickson, of Tucson, AZ. Russell was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and anything involving the outdoors or firearms. He was extremely knowledgeable about all types of animal life and enjoyed sharing his knowledge with others. Russell was best known for his outrageous sense of humor, his boisterous laugh, and his love of life. He will be sorely missed by his family and his many friends, both in Utah and in Arkansas. Services will be held Wednesday, October 27, 2004, at 11 a.m., in the Berg Drawing Room Chapel, 185 E. Center Street, Provo, Utah. Interment, Orem City Cemetery. Published in the Daily Herald from 10/22/2004 - 10/24/2004. Hall, Jay Markham Jay Markham Hall was born December 23, 1917 in Maeser, (Veral) Utah, to Leona Ashby and Thomas Edwin Hall. Jay passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2004. Jay married his sweetheart, Beth Swenson, on Dec. 20, 1945 in the Logan LDS Temple. They shared 706 wonderful months together. He was employed by Utah State University as an Agricultural Extension Agent. His work took him to Shiraz, Iran, Wayne County, Millard County, Box Elder County and Carbon County. Upon his retirement in 1981 Beth and Jay moved to Payson, UT. They served two 18 month missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, one to St. Louis, MO and Boston, MA. They were both ordinance workers in the Provo Temple for over 20 years. He is preceded in death by his parents and a stepmother, 2 brothers, sisters, 2 grandsons, and 1 great-granddaughter. He is survived by 3 brothers, 1 sister and 6 children: Dan (Kathy), Pleasanton, CA, Kent (Janie), Montgomery, AL, Robert (Corin), Payson, UT, Mary Ann (Lloyd) Marchant, Moberly, MO, Patty (Arlen) Tanner, Lee's Summit, MO, Tammy (Tracy) Larsen, Lee's Summit, MO, and raised 1 nephew, Chell (Cindy) Winegar, Carlin, NV. He has 42 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday, October 25, 2004, 11:00 a.m., in the Page LDS Ward Chapel, 711 South 600 East, Payson, Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Sunday, 6-8:00 p.m. or at the church Monday, 9:45-10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Payson Cemetery. Shepherd, Peggy Dianne Turner DiAnne, 61, passed away October 20, 2004, at her home in Orem, Utah. She was born on March 16, 1943, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the oldest of five children born to Max Leslie Turner and Nola Maurine Turner. She was married November 4, 1961, to Jay Lynn Shepherd in Salt Lake City, Utah, later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. She was the devoted mother of nine children, and the doting grandmother to 32 with one on the way. She graduated with an English degree from BYU in 1993 with honors as a Suma Cum Laude. She was continually seeking knowledge through much reading and schooling. Hers has been a journey of learning. She was a professional seamstress and an avid writer of poems and stories. She was a faithful member of the LDS Church serving in many capacities. Her greatest loves were that of teaching and singing, with many around her being the recipients of her great talents. Her incredible faith and strength, as she battled cancer, was an inspiration to us all. Our beautiful Mother will be remembered for her great strength, positive attitude, unwavering commitment to the gospel, and her love for her family. She is survived by her parents, Max Leslie Turner, Maurine Riddle MacNeil, her husband, Jay Shepherd, her siblings, Sheri Caldwell, Lorraine DeWaal, Karen McPhie, and Steven Turner, and her children Greg Shepherd, Cathy (Brad) Babcock, Stephanie Hubbard, Jill (Jerry) Williams, Patti Thompson, Michael (Amber) Shepherd, MaryJane (Sean) Sampson, Ritch (Julie) Shepherd, and Jen Rodabough. A viewing will be held at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem, Utah, from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, October 24, 2004. Funeral Services will be held on October 25, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. at the Lakeview Stake Center, 1850 South 400 West, Orem, with a viewing prior to the services from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment will be the Lindon City Cemetery.
