Clark Brenton (Brent) Ator passed from this life on October 19, 2004, in a tragic airplane accident in Kirksville, Missouri. A beloved husband, father, son, brother, bishop, doctor, and friend, he lived a life filled with love and service matched by few. He is survived by his sweet wife and best friend, Karlene; children: Kelsey (14), Zachary (12), Mikaela (10), Cebrina (8), Carissa (5), Cedric (4), Arianna (5 months); mother, Gloria; father, Brad; brother, Nathan; sisters: Gayle, Dana, and Jan; grandparents, and a host of others too numerous to mention. For Clark, there was always time for a generous hug, a kind word, or a wrestling match with anyone who wanted to take him on. Quick with a smile and laughter, he spread light and warmth to anyone who was blessed to be in his presence. His constant concern for others made him the perfect confidante, friend, and counselor. He faced everything that life gave him, and any problem that was brought to him, with a calm patience and serenity that immediately put those whom he was helping at ease, and gave them the confidence that all would be right. Clark touched lives everywhere he went. Those he served as a physician, bishop, or friend, knew the love, compassion, and dedication only a man who knew his Savior and loved his fellowman could give. Those of us who knew him and felt of his spirit will miss him greatly and love him forever. "For there is a time appointed for every man, according as his works shall be." (D&C 121:25) Funeral services for Clark will be held Thursday, October 28, 2004, at Noon, in the Alpine Stake Center Chapel, located at 98 East Canyon Crest Road, Alpine, Utah. OUR TIRELESS MOTHER, GRANDMOTHER, WONDERFUL SISTER, AUNT, GOOD FRIEND, AND ANGEL IN DISGUISE, IS ON HER WAY. NEITHER EARTH NOR HEAVEN WILL EVER BE THE SAME Lois Nielsen Ottesen closed her eyes on Friday, October 22, 2004, to the world she loved in spite of adversities that few could have endured as courageously and faithfully as she did. Lois, and twin sister, Lola, were born on April 17, 1924, to James and Rebecca A. Pace Nielsen. Graduating from Spanish Fork High School with the class of 1942, a class that found their immediate future facing World War II; wanting to support her country, Lois went to work at Hercules Powder Plant making explosives, needed for the war. Lois married Capt. Sharrel K. Ottesen, USMC, on November 4, 1943, in the Salt Lake Temple. Their long distance marriage continued as Sharrel completed his overseas military service as a fighter pilot. Lois prayed, wrote daily letters, and waited for his safe return. Sharrel passed away in 1980. They were blessed with one daughter and three sons: Lola Sharrelyn (Michael) Hansen; Karl Nielsen Ottesen, deceased; John Roger, deceased (Gloria) Ottesen; and Wesley Nielsen (Lynn) Ottesen. Known for her beautiful tributes to family, friends, and neighbors, Lois spent endless hours creating and presenting these thoughts from her heart. She lifted spirits and spread joy in the lives of many as the author of the fun filled "Hat Show". She and her sisters (and special friends) performed from Nephi to Salt Lake for special get-togethers and parties. It was a delightful way to make friends and spend an hour laughing and forgetting about the cares of the world. Lois was a faithful servant in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a devoted Relief Society teacher, a lifetime friend to the Young Women she taught, stake and ward Primary Chorister, and stake Sunday School Coordinator. She gave one hundred percent in every calling she was given. She spent many years working as an assistant to Dr. Leonard Foote. Adults confided in her as a good friend and children trusted and adored her. She was an excellent co-worker to those who shared responsibility of caring for others. She made lifetime friends as a secretary for the Spanish Fork Police Department. She respected the officers; and; in return; the officers expressed appreciation and praise for her tireless and sincere efforts in the department. She retired in 1994. Her roll as grandmother or gran-goon as she was affectionately referred to, brought hugs, surprises, and smiles to each of her eleven very special grandchildren. Her constant concern for their well-being was heart warming to Matt, Natalie, and Chad Hansen; Corey, Jason, Michelle, Melyssa, and Nycholas Ottesen; John Eric, Scott, and Kelli Ann Ottesen; as well as 19 great-grandchildren. A favorite Auntie to scores of nieces and nephews, she was sought out as a confidante and much loved friend to each one. As a sister, she was flawless in her caring devotion to each brother and sister. She had built-in radar that led her to anyone in need of a listening ear or special need. Surviving siblings: Norma N. Broadbent, Jane N. Strong, Florence Ruth N. (Joseph E.) Creer, Lola N. (Thane) Stone, J. Ross (Mary Jane) Nielsen, Kathleen N. (LeRoy) Whitehead, and brother-in-law, Stanley H. Cole. Deceased siblings: Lynwood, LaVar, Mark, Fay N. Page, Lucille N. Jones, Mary Louise (Mamie) N. Johnson, Afton Caroline N. (Cally) Cole. Our love and sincere appreciation to Bryan and Kalene Mathews and staff at Hearthstone Manor; also to Harmony Hospice, Rick Ortiz, Lisa Adams, Connie Clark, and Ann Douglas.
