Her devoted husband Art was by her side. Sue was born in Long Beach, CA. on November 9, 1926 to Carl and Elsie Woit Alexander. She married Her honey Arthur Austin on December 30, 1052 in Lynwood, CA. She had 1 brother and 3 sisters. Sue was raised in Redondo Beach, CA and also lived many years in Bakersfield, CA. with her family. She and Art moved to Utah in 1990, where they quickly made many new friends. Sue loved to meet people and was a friend to everyone she met. Her acts of charity touched many people. Whether you had known her for years or met her only once, she considered you a cherished friend and part of her family. Sue was someone you never forgot once you met her. She loved to shop and she knew, The sale price of anything and the value of everything. Truly, her family was her greatest joy and achievement. She never tired of seeking ways to provide and care for them. She was an excellent cook and was happiest in the kitchen serving all who entered her domain. She loved her Savior Jesus Christ and appreciated the beautiful world He created for all of mankind. She took great pride in her appearance, her flower gardens and in decorating her homes. She always said, simplicity is the keynote to elegance. Sue is survived by her loving husband Art, American Fork, Debbie (Dennis) Meyers, Houston, TX, Donna (Michael, Deceased) Gutierrez, American Fork, James (Bertie) Austin and John Austin all of Bakersfield, CA. Her legacy also includes 10 grandchildren who will miss grandma Sue dearly. A family memorial will be held at a later date. The family has suggested that donations be made to the Find Garrett Bardsley Foundation at any Zions Bank and in Her Memory Vote for Pres. W Bush, Sue would like that. Published in the Daily Herald on 10/28/2004. Foote, Cyril Warren Cyril Warren Foote, devoted husband, father and patriarch of his family passed away peacefully on October 27, 2004. He was born April 22, 1915 in Mayfield, Utah to Jacob and Elzina Hendricksen Foote. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as the first Branch President of the Dutch John Branch, a Bishopric Counselor, and many other callings. He was a very creative and resourceful man, a mechanic by trade but his true love was farming. He was well known for his beautiful well tended garden. He was also an avid fisherman and spent much of his time in retirement fishing alongside his wife Margaret. He invented a special tool known as the Fish Popper which people came from all over the Wasatch Front to purchase from him. He has spent the last decade of his life providing tender care for his beloved wife. He married Margaret Brox on February 3, 1937. They had sixty eight wonderful years together. Cyril is survived by his wife Margaret, his children Shirley (Dick) Cook, Audrey (Dick) Gum, Carma (Robert) Johnson, Gary (Cindy) Foote, and Carol (JD) Hellewell. He is also survived by a brother Elray Foote of Aurora, Utah and a sister Vera Mulford of Torrey, Utah. He has twenty eight grandchildren, sixty two great grandchildren and fourteen great, great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 29th, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sharon Park 3rd Ward chapel, 225 East 200 North, Orem. A viewing will be held Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street, Orem, and also on Friday one hour prior to the services at the ward chapel. Green, Hazel Laurine Snow Hundley Hazel Laurine Snow Hundley Green, age 95, of Orem, Utah, formerly of Highland, died on October 26, 2004. She was born on July 22, 1909 in Provo the daughter of James Chauncey and Martha Emeline Gay Snow. She married Ralph C. Hundley on July 15, 1926, who preceded her in death having drowned in Utah Lake on February 15, 1941. She married David A. Green on November 12, 1952, who preceded her in death on March 19, 1975. This marriage was later solemnized in the Provo Temple on May 19, 1994. She was educated in Provo City schools. She was employed at the Treasurers and Auditors Offices for Utah County; was a Licensed Practical Nurse having worked at Utah Valley Hospital, American Fork Hospital and Utah State Hospital. She was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in Sunday School, Primary, M.I.A. teacher, counselor in MIA and Relief Society, visiting teacher for 60 years; sang in the ward choirs, member of ward and stake Singing Mothers Chorus; sang at funerals, weddings, church activities; member of the Melodians Chorus of Provo; member of Les Amies Club, J.C. Ettes and Alpine Country Club. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, painting, gardening, dressmaking, quilting, piano, golfing, genealogy, dried flower arrangements. She won blue ribbons and sweepstake ribbons in fairs. She was a National Poetry contest winner. She believed life was beautiful, fragile and too short. She loved diversity, unusual people, places and experiences. Cherished the grandeur and solitude of the mountains and deserts. She had many friends and loved her family dearly. Survived by daughters: Jeanine (Ken) Long, Mill Creek, Washington; Margaret (Hector) Sanchez, Seattle, Washington; Colleen (Boyd) Erickson, Salt Lake City; son Bryan Patrick (Shirlene) Hundley, Orem, Utah. Her son, Ralph James Hundley of Florida preceded her in death on June 9, 1997. Daughter-in-law Lani Hundley Richardson (Bill) of Henderson, Nevada. Two stepdaughters: Bonny (Gordon) Thornton of Las Vegas, Nevada and Trish (Tammy) Adams of Ogden; 25 grandchildren, 77 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, two stepbrothers, three stepsisters, two grandchild and two great-grandchildren. Also survived by adopted daughter and friend Carol Jensen and her family. Mother and her family thank those at the Beehive Home in Orem for the way they showed love for her and did many special things for her. A viewing will be held on Friday, October 29, 2004 from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street in Orem. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. at the Orem 4th Ward Chapel, 50 South 800 East in Orem, with a viewing 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the ward chapel. Jensen, Michelle Michelle Jensen age 43 of Springville, passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2004. She was born January 12, 1961 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Fred C. and Ila M. Kenney Jensen. Michelle was an accomplished artist. She loved reading, literature and genealogy. She also loved animals. She will be sorely missed by all that knew her. She is survived by her sisters Leslie Jensen and Cynthia K. Jensen; aunts Wanda Webb, Georgia Rasmussen, Glenda Lee and Nell Searles; uncle Kay Jensen; and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Fred C. Jensen and mother Ila M. Kenney Jensen. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 30, 2004 at 2 p.m. in the LDS Chapel at 355 East Center Street in Springville, UT. Published in the Daily Herald on 10/28/2004. McIntyre, Laura S. Laura Swensen McIntyre, 88, died October 26, 2004 in Santaquin. She was born June 20, 1916 in Pleasant Grove, Utah to E.J. and Elsie Walker Swensen. She married E. Steele McIntyre April 27, 1943 in Reno, Nevada. Laura graduated from BYU, majoring in physical education and homemaking, and also attended George Washington University. She was a teacher at Tintic High School in Eureka for many years. Laura was a dedicated mother and homemaker. Her children and grandchildren enjoyed many bounteous meals at her table. When the grandchildren had a choice of where they would like to have Thanksgiving dinner it was always Grandma McIntyre's. She served her community and church, always going the extra mile. She will be remembered by her family and friends as a person who was generous with her time and devotion to those she knew. She enjoyed traveling and was ready at a moments notice for a trip around the world or just down the street. We thank you, mother, for your unconditional love, your guidance and example of all that is good. Survivors include her husband, children, Earl F. (Caren) McIntyre, of Wichita, Kansas, Samuel H. (Peggy) McIntyre, of Heber, Pamela (Douglas) Latimer, of Wellsville; 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Suzanne. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 30th at 1:00 p.m. in the Eureka LDS Chapel. Norman, Don Chrisman Don Chrisman Norman of Springville, UT, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones October 26, 2004. He was born November 24, 1920 in Laredo, MO to Don Russell and Edna Chrisman Norman. He married his high school sweetheart, Jeanette Searcy June 5, 1940. Don worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 45 years, he retired in 1982. After his retirement he was involved with Suntana Raceway for seven years and enjoyed the sport of racing. Don is survived by his wife Jeanette Norman of Springville; a brother Richard Norman of Missouri; his children James (Ann) of Provo, Luetta (Melvin) Bush of Provo, daughter-in-law Colleen Norman of Sandy, UT, 14 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandson. He was preceded in death by a son Gary Russell, a grandson, two great-grandson, his parents, two brothers and three sisters. NEPHI ¥ Fay LaJune Collard Pay, age 79, passed away October 25, 2004 at her home in Nephi, Utah. She was born July 26, 1925 in Fountain Green, Utah to Harry Junius and Annie Veora Mikkelson. She married William Fowkes Pay in Provo, Utah April 8, 1944. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple. She attended schools in Fountain Green and Moroni, graduating from Moroni High School. Over the years she worked at the Colonial Manor, Rancho Trailers, Nephi Rubber Products, and the Moroni Turkey Processing Plant. Growing up, she enjoyed summers going with her family to her father's sheep camp on the Sanpete Mountain, which began her great love of that mountain. She enjoyed the outdoors and gardening. She especially enjoyed the Collard family reunions in Heber and the Pay family reunions Nephi Canyon. She was a primary, Sunday school teacher and Cub Scout leader. She is survived by her husband; 4 daughters, Ellen (Ned) Anderson of Pocatello, ID; Sandra Pay, Karen Craigmiles and Linda Pay all of Salt Lake City, UT; 4 sons, Grant (Laurie) Pay of Santaquin, UT; Billy (Jackie) Pay of Centerfield, UT; Larry (Christina) Pay and Jeff Pay both of Nephi; 1stepdaughter, NaDeen (late Karl) Chappell; 26 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Edward (Pat) Collard of Bountiful, UT; Harry (Barbara) Collard of Salt Lake City, UT; 2 sisters, Ruth (late Charles) Symes of Magna, Utah; Joyce (late George)Anderson of Daniels, UT. Preceded in death by her parents; 1 son, Glen Richard Pay; stepson, James Pay and wife Joyce; sister, Betty Collard; 1 grandchild, Tina Pay; 2 great grandchildren Brandon Argyle and Rebecca Jacoby. Published in the Daily Herald on 10/28/2004. Peters, James Stanley James Stanley Peters, devoted father, dedicated husband, and loving grandfather, passed away peacefully on October 24th, 2004. He is survived by two children, Jeanne' Peters Triptow (Thomas), and James Stanley Peters (Sarah), siblings Lois Andersen, Millie Leary, Arlene Ganung, Howard, and Paul Peters. He is also survived by four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Mildred Hallsey Peters, brothers and sisters Elmo, Elizabeth, Carl, Jack, Dale Peters and one grandson, Michael James Peters. Stanley was born on November 18th, 1908 and is the son of James E. Peters and Eliza Chipman Peters of Provo, Utah. He served an LDS mission in Florida in 1929. Following his mission, he married Mildred Hallsey on August 15th, 1934 in the Salt Lake Temple. He served in numerous church positions including Bishop and High Councilman and was a dedicated member and priesthood holder of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved the gospel and sharing it with others. He was Assistant Manager of Chipmans Mercantile in American Fork for 18 years when he became Field Representative and later Manager of Utah Livestock PCA in the Salt Lake office retiring at age 65. Following 7 years of retirement, Stanley returned to work as manager of J.R. Broadbent Company retiring a second time at the age of 94. He was also active in civic affairs. Stanley loved to spend time with family and friends and loved to play golf. He is best remembered for his dedication to his children, grandchildren, and his loving wife Mildred. He gave everything his best effort and prided himself on his dedication to his assignments. Stanley will be missed by all that knew him. His life spanned nearly 100 years of history in the greatest of centuries and generations. What a joyous reunion he his now having with his loved ones who have gone before him. The Peters family especially wishes to thank the wonderful staff, employees, and friends at Highland Cove Retirement Center for the special relationship that they had with our Dad and for all of the dedicated friends who visited with him and brought him joy during his stay at the Retirement Center. Rock, Russell Rock passed away October 26, 2004 at home in Heber City, Utah, at age 86. He was born July 24, 1918 at American Falls, Idaho, the son of Russell Hamilton and Lois Fifield Rock. Russell grew up on a ranch and attended school in Rockland, Idaho, graduating from high school in Aberdeen, Idaho, in 1935. During World War II he served in the Navy as a corpsman in the South Pacific, attached to the Third Marine Division. He was wounded and received four Purple Hearts, the final one when he lost his leg on Guam. He also received the Bronze Star and Silver Star, and was retired from the Navy as a Chief Pharmacists Mate. Upon his return from two years in the Naval hospital at Mare Island, California, he was employed by the Idaho Department of Employment in Idaho Falls until his retirement in 1990. He lived in the Lincoln area of Idaho Falls, and was a member of the Lincoln Ward of the LDS Church, where he served in several capacities including that of Bishop. He served an LDS Stake Mission and also served a mission to Deseret Industries working with the handicapped. He was a member of the American Legion Post #56 where he had served as Commander. He also was local and state Disabled American Veterans Commander and National Vice Commander. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, 40-8, and Lodge #1087 of the Elks. He has been honored for being on the War Bonnet Rodeo committee for 60 years. Idaho Governor Robert Smylie honored him for his work with the physically handicapped, and Russell spent many years working with veterans as a service officer to help returning veterans from the Korean and Vietnam wars receive the benefits to which they were entitled. He married Embere Ririe March 24, 1947 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Embere passed away September 18, 1959. He married Doris Bouton Villella June 30, 1961 in the Idaho Falls Temple. He is survived by his wife, Doris; two daughters, Denys Wheeler (Gerald) of Rexburg, Idaho, and Mischelle Horn (Steve) of Roy, Utah; one sister, Lou Veda Sears of Idaho Falls; and one brother James Rock (Elene) of Las Vegas. He is also survived by stepchildren Nancy Hart (Richard), Vincent Villella, Cliffie Ann Johnson (Clint), all of Heber City, Utah; Betty Lamb (John) of Cedar Hills, Utah, and Jean Hoover (Kim) of Midway, Utah. He leaves 47 very loved grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren. Russell was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Embere Ririe Rock and sister Joan MacKay of Orem, Utah. A sister Afton and brother Ralph died as infants. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 29, 2004 6:00 P.M. in the Heber First Ward, with a visitation starting one hour prior to the service. A funeral service will also be held in Idaho Falls at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 30, in the Lincoln Ward, 3700 E. Lincoln Road, Idaho Falls, Idaho. The family will visit with friends from 12:00 P.M. until time of services. Interment will be in the Lincoln Cemetery with full military rites performed by the American Legion Bonneville Post #56.
