She was born November 2, 1912 to Lewis (Luke) and Ethel Grace Gardner Hirst in Winter Quarters, Utah. She married Verl (Joe) Brereton, November 3, 1930 in Provo, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple on September 13, 1986. He passed away October 2, 1955. She married Carl Crippen, June 28, 1958. He passed away March 16, 1985. She had 11 children, 36 grandchildren, 80 great-grandchildren and 30 great-great-grandchildren. Her life was spent in selfless love and devotion to her children. She was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She taught primary and was a teacher in the nursery. She also did extractions for the temple and had been a visiting teacher. She enjoyed cooking, canning and gardening. She crocheted and gave all her children many doilies. Survivors include: her children, Coleen Thomas, Nedra (Dean) Wignall, Jack (Geisela) Brereton, DeAnn Durant, Glenda (A.O.) Frixione, Carol (Doug) Peterson, Marsha (Steven) Lassen, Marilyn (Jerry) Ross, Steven (Marcia) Crippen; a daughter-in-law, Alice Hansen; and a sister, Gladys (Don) Gerow. She was preceded in death by: two sons, Wayne L. and Farrell Jim Brereton; a sister, Freda Sutherland; a brother, Harold Hirst; and 4 grandchildren. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 30, 2004, 11:00 a.m., in the Mtn. View 6th Ward Chapel, 681 East 500 North, where friends may call, 9-10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Provo City Cemetery. Gifford, Alice Louise On Oct 27, 2004, Alice, 57, returned to heaven to be reunited with her mother. She was born Jan 28, 1947 in Olympia, WA to Oscar Dewayne and Opal Louise Swayne Gifford. She has been living with her brother, Tex and Leta Gifford in American Fork. Survived by her father, 6 brothers and 2 sisters. Funeral service 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004 in American Fork 17th Ward, 240 S Center. Interment, Fri. Nov. 5, 2004 in Enumclaw Evergreen Memorial Park, Enumclaw, Washington. Published in the Daily Herald on 10/29/2004. Green, Hazel Laurine Snow Hundley Hazel Laurine Snow Hundley Green, age 95, of Orem, Utah, formerly of Highland, died on October 26, 2004. She was born on July 22, 1909 in Provo the daughter of James Chauncey and Martha Emeline Gay Snow. She married Ralph C. Hundley on July 15, 1926, who preceded her in death having drowned in Utah Lake on February 15, 1941. She married David A. Green on November 12, 1952, who preceded her in death on March 19, 1975. This marriage was later solemnized in the Provo Temple on May 19, 1994. She was educated in Provo City schools. She was employed at the Treasurers and Auditors Offices for Utah County; was a Licensed Practical Nurse having worked at Utah Valley Hospital, American Fork Hospital and Utah State Hospital. She was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in Sunday School, Primary, M.I.A. teacher, counselor in MIA and Relief Society, visiting teacher for 60 years; sang in the ward choirs, member of ward and stake Singing Mothers Chorus; sang at funerals, weddings, church activities; member of the Melodians Chorus of Provo; member of Les Amies Club, J.C. Ettes and Alpine Country Club. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, painting, gardening, dressmaking, quilting, piano, golfing, genealogy, dried flower arrangements. She won blue ribbons and sweepstake ribbons in fairs. She was a National Poetry contest winner. She believed life was beautiful, fragile and too short. She loved diversity, unusual people, places and experiences. Cherished the grandeur and solitude of the mountains and deserts. She had many friends and loved her family dearly. Survived by daughters: Jeanine (Ken) Long, Mill Creek, Washington; Margaret (Hector) Sanchez, Seattle, Washington; Colleen (Boyd) Erickson, Salt Lake City; son Bryan Patrick (Shirlene) Hundley, Orem, Utah. Her son, Ralph James Hundley of Florida preceded her in death on June 9, 1997. Daughter-in-law Lani Hundley Richardson (Bill) of Henderson, Nevada. Two stepdaughters: Bonny (Gordon) Thornton of Las Vegas, Nevada and Trish (Tammy) Adams of Ogden; 25 grandchildren, 77 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, two stepbrothers, three stepsisters, two grandchild and two great-grandchildren. Also survived by adopted daughter and friend Carol Jensen and her family. Mother and her family thank those at the Beehive Home in Orem for the way they showed love for her and did many special things for her. A viewing will be held on Friday, October 29, 2004 from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street in Orem. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. at the Orem 4th Ward Chapel, 50 South 800 East in Orem, with a viewing 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the ward chapel. Lambert, Dan Dan Lambert, born in Salt Lake City on February 7, 1925, passed away at home October 25, 2004, in Provo, his home base since he was 12 years old. He was the son of Dan Delmar and Vivien Laney Lambert, who grew up together in Kamas. Dan married Janet Miller of Mesa, Arizona, on August 27, 1947. Their marriage was solemnized in the LDS temple in Manti on March 23, 1963, seven months before the last of their six children was born. Dan was a Provo High School graduate, Class of 42. He joined the Naval Reserve in 1943, and was en route to the Philippines when World War II ended. Soon after Dans honorable discharge in 1946, he took advantage of the G.I. Bill and enrolled at Brigham Young University. Apparently born to golf, Dan made the cut and became a member of the Ys golf team. He graduated from BYU in 1949 with a B.S. degree in economics and pursued a masters degree until his eligibility under the G.I. Bill expired. He worked for Geneva Steel from 1950 until his retirement 32 years later. Dan was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a member of the Bonneville 5th Ward. He claimed his most challenging calling was that of Scoutmaster and his most rewarding, that of Stake clerk from 1983, when the Provo Bonneville Stake was created, until 1992. He was also a Provo Temple worker for many years. Dan was preceded in death by his wife, Janet, in March 2003, and is survived by their children: Dawn Henderson (Richard) Goates, Salt Lake City; Dan David (Karen) Lambert, Orem; Linda (Jon) Hickman, Pleasant Hill, Calif.; Jean Lambert, Concord, Calif.; Carolyn (Steve) Hawkes, Sugar City, Idaho; and Laura Lambert, Orem. Dan is also survived by 12 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many special friends, including several longtime golfing buddies. Dans brother, Karl Lambert, his sister, Virginia L. Hasson Norton, and three brothers who died in infancy also preceded him. A viewing at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday will be followed by funeral services at 11:30 a.m. at the Bonneville 5th Ward, 85 S. 900 E., Provo.
