Keith E. Keith Aston Keith Aston, age 75, passed away April 12, 2005, after a long struggle with Parkinson's Disease and cancer. He was born January 8, 1930, in Provo, Utah, to Ray and Isabell Brimhall Aston. He grew up in Provo and graduated from the old Provo High School. He spent his summers on a turkey ranch in Sanpete County, and attended USU, where he met the love of his life, Lela Scott. They were married June 27, 1951, in the Salt Lake Temple. They lived for a time in Nephi, where he worked at the Nephi Rubber Plant. He returned to USU and graduated in elementary education. He taught in the Provo School District for 27 years, spending the last 11 years as the media coordinator at Franklin Elementary. He retired in 1987 and he and Lela enjoyed traveling in their RV. They helped start the Squaw Peak Good Sam Chapter, and made many close friends there. He always enjoyed working in his garden, and shared the produce with others. Keith and Lela served a mission in Dallas, Texas. He also served in many positions in the LDS church, including many years as financial clerk in his ward and stake. He is survived by his wife, Lela Aston, five children and their spouses. They are Susan and Gaius Crosby, Kevin and Wendy Aston, Lee and Pamala Aston, Sharon and Val Groo, and Vernon and Jennifer Aston. He is also survived by 11 granddaughters, 12 grandsons and 4 great-granddaughters. He is survived by his brother, Lloyd Aston, and his sister and her husband, Leona and John Roylance. Keith's family expresses sincere appreciation to the caretakers at the Golden Living Center and the medical people who have provided loving assistance. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 16, 2005, at the Grandview 13th Ward chapel, 1260 West 1150 North, Provo. Bormann, 90, of Provo died April 10, 2005. He was born in Racine, WI September 21, 1914 to Lewis and Emma Gailbraith Bormann. He was raised in Culver City, California where he started a landscaping business. His clients included Hollywood stars and his client won the best rose garden in Hollywood. Bob then served as a C-Bee in WW II in the South Pacific. He then bought a saw patent and had a saw on the hood of his 1955 Thunderbird. After 2 short failed marriages, he married Elda Olson in 1956, the love of his life. She died in 1997. From this union Bob inherited 5 stepsons (John, Paul, Dick(deceased),Larry & Jared Crowley) along with dozens of grandchildren. Bob and Elda moved to Hawaii where Bob created a trading stamp company. Bob had a Trimmer Lawn Mower franchise for Georgia, Florida and the South. Bob loved telling jokes to family and friends and even complete strangers he would meet. Bob will be remembered for his tireless fight against corrupt government and crooked politicians. Many will remember the signs on his truck and home saying "Politicians should be Bonded!". He also wrote many political letters to the editor at the Daily Herald. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2005 at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street in Orem. Cox, Mildred Lucile (Morrison) Mildred Lucile (Morrison) Cox Mildred Cox passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2005, at the age of 91. She was residing at Beehive Homes in Orem at the time of her death. Mildred was born on September 7, 1913 in Maxbass, North Dakota, the daughter of Ellsworth Edward Morrison and Francis Wertzler. Mildred was educated in the Westby, Montana school system and graduated from there. She was an active member of the LDS Church and served in many callings throughout her life. She married Kenneth N. Cox, who preceded her in death, and they were the proud parents of three daughters and two sons. Mildred was a homemaker who loved her family and she also enjoyed crocheting and embroidering. She created many beautiful pieces which she shared with family and friends. Mildred is survived by her daughters: Mrs. William (Genevieve) Lapsley, Mrs. Roger (Mary) Haglund, Mrs. Rulon (Joyce) Page and her sons: K. Norman Cox and G. LaVar Cox, 27 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren with two on the way. She was born on May 27, 1945 in Provo, Utah the daughter of Jay Conrad Reeves and Evelyn Paulson Reeves. Lois attended schools in Provo and worked for the State of Utah for twenty-seven years. She was a devoted mother whose life revolved around her family. She enjoyed reading and she loved watching the Jazz play basketball; even when they were losing. Lois is survived by her son, Ernie Morales of Provo, Utah and her daughter, Maria (Wayne) Whitmarsh of Draper, Utah; 3 grandchildren: Rosanne, Rachelle and J.R. Whitmarsh; her brother, Gordon Reeves of Provo, Utah and Kathy Witte of Orem, Utah. She was preceded in death by her parents and a niece, Tamara Witte. Howard, William Bailey William Bailey Howard William Bailey Howard died April 10, 2005 at his home in Orem, Utah. He was born September 17, 1924 in Lawrence, Kansas. His wife, Ellaree, son, Norman, and 3 daughters, Christine (Ray), Dawn (Dick), and Margy (Lee), 16 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren survive him. He graduated from University of Idaho and his life work was primarily as construction engineer with the U.S. Forest Service. He built many roads, bridges, and buildings. In W.W. II he served 3 years combat duty in France and Germany as a combat engineer. In the Korean War he served one year as an instructor in construction trades school. He is a member of the L.D.S. Church and served in many ward positions. He also served 2 senior missions to Oklahoma and Tennessee. He lived a full and happy life, mostly in good health and was an excellent husband and father. A 12:00 (noon) memorial service will be held Saturday, April 16, at Canyonview Stake Center, 575 E. 800 N. Orem, with visiting from 11:00 a.m. to noon. Morine was born in Roseville, California on October 24, 1922, to Samuel M. and Florence Adella Henderson, Coppin. She died in Provo, Utah, April 10, 2005, with her loving family, friends and neighbors by her side. She had one brother, Ronald Samuel Coppin, one niece, Rhonda Goodwin and three nephews, Mitchel (Virginia), Timothy (Tracy), Tyler (Jane) Coppin with several great nieces and nephews. She was the step mother to Lou Ree Johnson, Darrell Ray Larson, Jerald Evan Larson and Kevin Eugene Larson, with 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Morine was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed by her husband Harold (Hal) who she married in Sacramento, Calif. On May 19, 1968. She had friends world wide. Through her family research she has found and personally met many of her family. Morine grew up in a loving Catholic home, but joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 1977. Besides her husband and family the church became her life, she enjoyed working in the church and held many positions, Relief Society President, Librarian, Stake R.S. Sect., etc. She was a very talented person as she grew up, she would perform with her brother Ronald at civic functions and school activities, by singing and dancing. Morine did many things in her life, including being a Medical Assistant and the first women Teller for the Bank of America. She was a very talented decorator and made her homes all show places! Morine and Hal lived in many places and traveled to many areas throughout the world! Morine is survived by her loving husband Harold (Hal) of 38 years and 4 step children, 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren. And her Brother Ronald (Gayle) Coppin and her nieces and nephews. Markham, Michael Dixon Michael Dixon Markham Michael Dixon Markham, beloved husband, father, son and brother, passed away in his home on April 11, 2005 after a valiant fight against stomach cancer over the past year. Michael was born May 10, 1957 in Fort Ord, California to Dixon J. and Junece Jex Markham. He attended Provo City Schools, and graduated in accounting from Brigham Young University. Michael married his sweetheart, Rosemary Reynolds, on August 24, 1982 in the Provo LDS Temple. They were blessed with three beautiful children, Lucinda, Steven and Sharon. He was a very loving husband and father, and his life revolved fully around his family. One of the joys of Michael's life was his missionary service for the LDS Church to Lisbon, Portugal. He truly learned to love the Portuguese people. He was a very faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in various callings throughout his life, but his greatest love was to work with the youth. His most recent calling was with the 11-year-old Boy Scouts. Michael has been an accountant for several different companies, most recently Clyde Companies, Inc. He was a very dedicated and valued employee, who worked tirelessly even throughout his cancer treatments. He made many lasting friendships through the years, and often expressed gratitude for the concern and caring of those he worked with. Michael will be most remembered for his many Christ-like characteristics. His family and friends describe him as a man with amazing thoughtfulness, kindness and unselfishness. He truly was a man without guile and unquestioned integrity. Michael was a "gentle giant", who brought peace and love to all around him. Even during his sickest hours he was more concerned about others and their families. Michael is survived by his wife Rosemary; their children, Steven, 14 and Sharon, 10; his parents; his brothers Kevin (Lisa), Karl (Debbie), Alan (Loretta), and Scott; his sister Mary Ann (Randy) Christiansen; and his large extended loving family. He was preceded in death by his daughter Lucinda Markham. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 16, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Grandview LDS Stake Center, 1600 North 1880 West, Provo. McCausland April 4, 1920 ~ April 13, 2005 Edith Ardell Moore McCausland, 85, died peacefully, April 13, 2005, in Delta, Utah, surrounded by her loving family. Edith was born April 4, 1920 to Clarence Burton and Eleanor Mildenhall Moore. She married Gordon Harry McCausland, April 6, 1940. The marriage was solmnized in the Provo Temple, September 19, 1975. As a life-long resident of Provo, Edith loved fishing camping, embroidery and ceramics. She spent many happy hours shopping, picking asparagus, and hunting mushrooms with her sisters, with whom she was very close. She was an excellent cook, an avid reader and never missed a Jazz or a BYU game. In her later years, she never refused an invitation to go out to lunch and was familiar with just about every restaurant to open in Provo. Preceded in death by her husband: Gordon; 2 sisters: LaRue Measom (Frank) and Iola Linford (Elijah "Lige"); brother: Clarence "Burt" Burton Jr.; grandson: Nicholas Scott McCausland. Survived by her 3 children: Karen Diane Soldat (Robert), Gary Scott (Lana), and Korene McCausland; brother: Donald Moore (Jean), 5 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Morris, Lila Dovie Goldsmith Lila Dovie Goldsmith Morris Lila Dovie Goldsmith Morris, 88, passed away April 12, 2005 at the Heritage Care Center in American Fork., Utah. She was born Jan. 3, 1917 in Quitman, Texas the daughter of Caswell Columbus and Dovie Lloyd Goldsmith. She married James Mayo Morris on Nov. 24, 1938. He died March 31, 1961. Lila was a great mother, always putting the welfare of her three children first. She is remembered for her great devotion to her family, her integrity, courage , and tenacity in facing life's challenges. Lila lived most of her adult life in Southern California where she learned to love the ocean breezes and palm trees. She has returned to California to lie beside her beloved Mayo. Survived by 1 son and 1 daughter, Jeffrey Franklin (Digna) Morris, Lehi; Jennifer Mayo (Kent) Maxfield, Cedar Hills; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren. Nielsen, Robin Adair Robin Adair Nielsen Robin Adair Nielsen, age 67, died April 10, 2005 in Salt Lake City. Born April 13, 1937 in Racine, Wisconsin a son of Harold Henning and Harriet Teresa Filler Nielsen. Robin was an active member of the LDS Church, an avid Danish genealogist, author and school teacher. He was an Eagle Scout and member of Order of the Arrow. Dad adored his children and was very proud of each one. Survived by 1 daughter and 5 sons: Anne, David, James, John, Marc and Curtis; 17 grandchildren and 1 brother Rodney. Funeral Services will be Friday 12:00 noon in the Pioneer Ward, 2115 Jefferson Avenue, Ogden. Viewing will be held Friday 11- 11:45 am prior to services. Pickering, Geneva Geneva Pickering Geneva Ballantyne Pickering, 98, died April 12, 2005 at the Highland Manor Care Center in Mesquite, Nevada. Geneva was born August 23, 1906 to John & Mahala Ballantyne in Riverton, Utah. Her parents died when she was young and her aunt and uncle Mary Jane and John Done raised her. She married her sweetheart George D. Pickering in 1931. Geneva graduated from Payson High School. She was a member of the Daughter of the Utah Pioneers in the Payson area for many years. Geneva enjoyed needlework, crocheting and quilting. She also loved spending time in her garden. Geneva is survived by her daughter, LaRae (Jerry) Rudy of Mesquite, NV; three sons, Lynn (Nona) Pickering of Anaconda, MT; Richard Pickering of Payson, UT; and Michael (Susan) Pickering of Craig, CO; 16 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, eight brothers and four sisters. Also by a son, Dale and a daughter, Jean Jarvis. Sumsion Steven John Sumsion, 54, died Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at his home surrounded by his family in Spanish Fork. He was born June 1, 1950 in Provo Utah, the son of Gerald Sumsion and Fay Ferre Sumsion. He married Frances Gonzales on July 17, 1976 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were later divorced but remained good friends. Steve graduated from Spanish Fork High School in 1968. He worked as a bodyman for a Chevrolet dealership for 27 years then went to work for Mark Dallin Construction. He was active in the J.C.'s and was a member of the NRA. Steven enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding ATV's and trap shooting. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Survivors include one daughter: Cristi (Jason) Reese of Spanish Fork; Frances (Fran) Gonzales Sumsion of Salem; his parents: Gerald and Fay Sumsion of Spanish Fork; 2 grandchildren, Haiden Jase Reese and Macie Lyn Reese; a sister: Susan (Bryan) Dutson of Pleasant Grove. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; and a father-in-law. Graveside services will be Friday, April 15, 2005 at 1 p.m. at the Spanish Fork City Cemetery, 420 South 400 East. He was born Sept. 15, 1932, in Benjamin, UT to Orlan and Della Ludlow Tippetts, Royal lived his life from a wheelchair after an accident, in Oct. 1944, left him paraplegic. In spite of numerous physical challenges, he was always patient and appreciative. He lived an active life, and enjoyed traveling, fishing, and building remote control airplanes. He worked in Scouting for 20 years, owned and operated a shoe store in Provo for 10 years and graduated from BYU in 1983. He worked as a Job Placement Specialist, finding jobs for people with disabilities, until he retired in 1993. Royal married Mary Corbett, Dec. 30, 1959 and adopted her 3 children. He is survived by his devoted wife Mary, Salem, UT. Daughter MaryJane (Paul) Merritt, Elk Ridge, UT, sons William O. (Melinda), Lexington, KY, Michael L., Payson, UT. 3 grandsons Ryan, Eric and Bryce Tippetts. Also survived by a sister Maureen Lott, brothers Thelo (Julia), Marvin (Ione), Calvin (Myrlene). Preceded in death by his parents and oldest sister Verla Peterson. Royal will be remembered for his giving nature, his positive and loving attitude, and for his pleasant disposition. He requested that his body be donated to The University of Utah School of Medicine. Special thanks to Dr. Elizabeth Dayton, Alpine Hospice nurse Dana Mutch, and neighbor Ann Clark.
