"Bud" Ned K "Bud" Blackett OGDEN - Ned K Blackett, 84, passed away peacefully at home, of causes incident to age, on April 23, 2005. Ned was born on March 3, 1921, in Springville, Utah, to Robert Earl and Mary Edna Blackett. He was raised and educated in Springville, graduated from Springville High School where he played football and basketball. He married Ruth McFarlane on July 11, 1942, in Ogden. She passed away in 1980. Ned was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army in North Africa and Italy. He worked all of his life in the grocery business, first with O.P. Skaggs, the Rainbow Market; and, for many years, as store manager for various Stimson's Markets, retiring in 1988. Ned loved the outdoors and especially the Yellowstone and Island Park areas, where he had a summer home. His wife and family meant everything to him. He was an outstanding husband and father and a true gentleman. His greatest joy was when he was with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, one brother and one sister. He is survived by his children: Ned (Linda) Blackett, Jr., North Ogden; Robert (Mary) Blackett, Cedar City; Kim Blackett and Brent Schneider, Salt Lake City. He has five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers and three sisters. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2005, at 11 a.m., at Ogden City Cemetery, 20th and Madison. Penrod, John Dee John Dee Penrod John Dee Penrod of Genola, Utah, was born October 25, 1966, to Cloward and LaVerne Penrod, the youngest of nine children; and, returned to the loving arms of his Heavenly Father on April 23, 2005. John was a happy and talented man. He excelled in all he did. He was Studentbody President at Payson High School, served a mission to Korea, and graduated from B.Y.U. He worked at Community Press as Production Manager for many years. Among his many talents, he was gifted musically and wrote and performed some of his own music. He lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed hunting, horses, sports, and being in the outdoors. He loved people and had many friends. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He married Donalee Coulan, July 7, 1993, in the Manti L.D.S. Temple. They were later divorced. They had two children, David and Charlee, whom he loved and cherished. They were the light of his life. John is survived by his parents, of Genola; his two children, of Orem; and four brothers and four sisters: Brent Penrod, Bill Penrod, Wayne Penrod, and Ron Penrod, all of Genola; Margie Hurst, Blanding; DeLee Winegar, Heber; Lynnae Hill, Phoenix, AZ; and Colleen Rasmussen, American Fork. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 27th, at 11 a.m., in the Genola Ward Chapel, Genola, UT. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary of Payson at 587 South 100 West on Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m.; and, Wednesday, at the ward chapel from 9:45 - 10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the East Lawn Memorial Hills Cemetery in Provo.
