Louise Hamnett Austin, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend passed away peacefully at her home, July 30, 2005, surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 11, 1917, in Alpine, Utah, the daughter of David Alma and Esther Lucilla Healey Hamnett. She lived and attended schools in Alpine and American Fork. She grew up in a time of hard work and little money, but lots of love and wonderful memories. She spent her early years picking berries and working at the Yankee Mine in American Fork Canyon. She met her sweetheart, Frank Carlyle Austin, at a dance, where they fell in love. They were married June 4, 1937; their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, June 4, 1957. They lived in Alpine and Lehi. She enjoyed spending time with her family, camping, nature, and her moonlight rides with Carl. She is survived by her husband, Frank; four sons and three daughters: Karleen (Jay) Wilson; Lionell (Vicki) Austin; Lowell Austin; Diane (Ron) Smith; Donna (LeEarl) Healey; Mardee (Glenda) Austin; Frank (Eddie) Austin; 46 grandchildren, 104 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters and a brother: Chelta (Warren) Jackson; Joyce (Jim) Freeze; and Vaughn (Lucille) Hamnett. Preceded in death by sons, Alma and Thayne; daughter, Phyllis; her parents, three sisters and two brothers, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Graveside services, at Louise s request, will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 3, 2005, in the Alpine Cemetery, 300 East 400 North Grove Drive. Friends may call Tuesday evening, from 6-8 p.m., at the Anderson & Sons Mortuary Chapel, 49 East 100 North, American Fork; and, Wednesday, from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Riverton, Utah - Kenneth Dale Brown, age 78, of Riverton, formerly of Lehi, died July 29, 2005, in a Salt Lake Valley Hospital of heart failure. He was born April 16, 1927, in American Fork, Utah, son of Benjamin Kenneth and Anna Christensen Brown. Married Nita May Brooks, July 29, 1950, in Elko, Nevada. She died October 6, 1992. Kenneth was a truck driver in the petroleum transportation industry and a member of the Teamsters' Union. He served in the Navy during World War II. He was a great fan of the NY Yankees, the Utah Jazz; and, his favorite vacation spot was San Diego, CA. Survived by two sons and two daughters: Cody (Beverly) Brown, Magna; Casey (Annie) Brown, Herriman; Molly (John) Nelson, Springville; Karen (Harold) Terry, Lehi; 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; brother and sister, Earl Brown and Helen Leitner. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 4, 2005, at 11 a.m., in the Wing Mortuary Chapel, where friends and family may call from 9:30 a.m. until time of services. Johnson, Max Earnel Max Earnel Johnson passed away on July 27, 2005, surrounded by his loving family and friends after courageously fighting gastric cancer. Max was born on September 13, 1945, in Delta, Utah, to Earnel and Eva Johnson. He spent most of his young years living in Provo, Utah, and the last 31 years in Lehi, Utah. He married Kristine Henriksen on July 8, 1976, in Bountiful, Utah. They were later sealed together in the Salt Lake City Temple on November 25, 1978. Max served in the Vietnam and Gulf Wars. He retired from Geneva Steel in 2001, and started his own handyman business. Max loved to work with his hands. He loved to fish, hunt, and spend time with his family. He was a very hard worker, a wonderful loving husband, a very devoted father and grandfather, and a true friend to all. He was a member of the LDS Church. Max is survived by his loving wife, Kristine; his three daughters: Cindy (Ryan) Greenwell, Suzanna (Greg) Mitchell, and Stacey; his grandchildren: Caitlyn, Ewan, Hayden, and Campbell; his brother, Keith Johnson; his sisters: Marnell Andrus and Donna Allred; and many other loved ones. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and his brother, Neldon. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2005, at 11 a.m., at the Lehi 7th Ward Chapel, 1149 North 300 West, Lehi, Utah. Family and friends may call on Monday evening, August 1, from 6-8 p.m. at Berg Mortuary, 185 E. Center Street, Provo, Utah; as well as Tuesday morning, at the church, from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Interment will be at the Lehi City Cemetery. The family wishes to thank Dr. Mark Ott at LDS Hospital for his dedication and compassion in helping Max. We also thank all the other doctors and nurses who cared for Max.
