Utahna W. Ballard 1931 ~ 2005 Utahna M. Walker Ballard died on July 27, 2005 after a brief battle with cancer. She was known for her sense of humor, her beautiful piano playing and the afghans she crocheted for countless babies. She was born on February 11, 1931 in her parent s home in Lindon, Utah. She graduated from Lincoln High School, Orem and later from B.Y.U. with a masters degree in education. She was the youngest of eight children, four of whom preceded her in death, Grace Walker Fielding, Jennie Walker Murdoch, Grant Walker, and Leon Walker. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence R. and Dahlia R. Walker. She is survived by her children, Dana Baker of Redding, CA, Julie and Clint Jones, of Lakewood, CO, and Lawrence Ballard of Topeka, KS. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Cody, Courtney, Katelin, and Kenny Baker of Redding, CA, also Jessica, Alexis, and Josh Jones of Lakewood, CO. They love her very much and will miss her kind tenderness that she so willingly gave to each of them. She is also survived by sister, Lorayn W. (Aaron) Stoddard of Vineyard, UT and brothers Robert E. (Joyce) Walker of Orem, UT and Garth L. (Mary Gae) Walker of Seattle, WA. She was an example of service to us all. She had a great love for her children, grandchildren and her many nieces and nephews. She will be missed for her quick wit. Funeral services for Utahna will be held Today Saturday, August 6, 2005 at 11:00 am, in the Vineyard LDS Ward Chapel located at 800 South Geneva Road, Orem, Utah. Family and friends may call Friday evening from 6-8 pm at the Vineyard Ward Chapel and also on Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 am prior to services. Interment, Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Published in the Daily Herald from 8/4/2005 - 8/6/2005. Reiser, Scott Alan Scott Alan Reiser December 15, 1983 to July 30, 2005 Scott Alan Reiser, 21, beloved son of Tana D. Groneman of Springville passed away while on vacation in Strawberry. Scott's life was filled with love, loving people, loving life and loving every challenge that came his way and he loved his country. Scott had just been accepted in the ROTC Criminal Justice Program at UVSC and was looking forward to serving his country. He was following in his grandfathers Groneman s footsteps by dedicating his life to his country. Scott loved the military life and ranked highest in his group for sharp shooting and hand grenade throwing. He loved to jump out planes, parachuting towards the ground and most recently he was thrilled to jump out of a Black Hawk Helicopter. Scott was baptized into the Church of Latter Day Saints where he participated in scouting. Scott was proceeded in death by caring, lovely grandfather Shirl R. Groneman. Scott is survived by his loving mother Tana D. Groneman, his sister Kellie (Josh) Sunde with their 2 beautiful children Tyler Ann and Kelton Scott Sunde of Murray, UT. His little brother, who he loved dearly, Brendan Reiser Orem, UT. His grandmother Marilyn Groneman of Springville, UT. His very special Aunt and Uncle Maria (Chris) Millmaker of Yuma, AZ, who we would like to offer special thanks for all of their love and guidance. His three uncles Hal (Linda) Groneman of Springville, UT; Shane Groneman of Springville, UT and Jon (Bonnie) Groneman of Springville, UT. Many cousins who loved him. He is also survived by his father Richard Reiser Jr. of Yuma, AZ , grandmother Eleanor Z. Johnson of Pleasant Grove, UT. grandfather Richard Reiser Sr. of Orem. Sherman, Clintina Marie Nicholson Clintina Marie Nicholson Sherman, age 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 4, 2005 at the home of her daughter, Arlee Angell in Spanish Fork, Utah. She was born November 18, 1915 in Nucla, Colorado to Alexander Constantine Nicholson and Mabel Ruth Sly. She married Walter Earl Sherman on January 3, 1936 in Kellogg, Idaho. Her childhood and most of her adult life was spent in Kellogg. She was a member of the American Lutheran Church, and active in the Women s Benefit Association. Most of her life she was employed as a seamstress. She loved to spend time in the outdoors camping, fishing, and pheasant hunting with her husband and family members in the area. She loved to travel and had fond memories of her trips to Nashville, Alaska, and China. Clinty, as she was known by her family and friends, was the middle of five children, and preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Alexander Nicholson; and sisters, Doretha Trudys Nicholson and Bonnie Nellie McAlister. She is survived by her daughter, Arlee (Al) Angell; her sister, Thora Dessie Johnson; and her five grandchildren: Kathryn, Gary, Gregory, Ryan, and Michelle. She was also the proud great-grandmother to nine great-grandchildren. Our family wishes to thank Vista-Care Hospice for their loving care and attention to our Mom. Memorial Services will be held on Monday, August 8, 2005 at 11 a.m. in the Spanish Fork Canyon Ridge Stake Center, 1911 East 1850 South. Interment will be at a future date in Coeur d Alene, Idaho. Wyler, Dot Norton Ainge Dot Norton Ainge Wyler Our Beloved Mother and Grandmother, Dot Norton Ainge Wyler, age 89, passed away on August 4th 2005 in Spanish Fork, Utah. She was born August 18th, 1915 in Panguitch, Utah. She was the daughter of Fannie Lavina Smith and Elmer Jay Norton. She married Alfred Earl Ainge September 27th, 1930. They were later divorced. She married the love of her life Robert Wyler on December 7th, 1954. Their marriage was later sealed in the Provo Temple. She had five children, Fannie Ann Ainge, Max Earl Ainge, who preceded her in death. She is survived by Mrs. Max (Helen) Ainge, Mrs. Jay (Renae) Ainge, Marlene Stilson Mayo, and Mrs. Rowley (Betty Kay) Curtis; and a sister, Nellie Herbert. She also has 21 Grandchildren, 71 Great Grandchildren, and 63 Great Great Grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday August 8th, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the Fifteenth ward chapel, 310 East Center Street in Spanish Fork. There will be a viewing held Sunday August 7th at the Walker Mortuary form 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and at the church 1 hour prior to the services. Interment will be in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
