Max LaVon Beddoes, age 86, of Payson, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2005, at his home after an extended illness. He was born May 7, 1919, in Salem, Utah, a son of Edward M. and Martha Alice Hazel Beddoes. He married Bessie Limb, March 30, 1943, in Evanston, Wyoming. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. Max served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked as a miner in Eureka, and retired from Geneva Steel. He enjoyed the outdoors and prospecting. He enjoyed people and visiting. His great sense of humor will be missed. Survivors include his wife, Bessie; three sons and a daughter: Garold (Ginger) Beddoes, Arnold (LeeAnn) Beddoes, all of Payson; Kathy (Jay) Peterson, Goshen; Von Dean Beddoes, Payson; 17 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; three sisters; and a grandson. Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 10, 2005, 11 a.m., in the Payson West Stake Center, 780 West 500 South, Payson. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Tuesday, 6-8 p.m.; or, at the church, Wednesday, 9:45-10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Payson City Cemetery with Military Rites accorded by the American Legion, District #4. Holdaway, Clista Beck Clista Beck Holdaway, 98, of Vineyard, died Saturday, July 6, 2005, at her home. She was born May 8, 1907, in Lehi, Utah, a daughter of Alma and Sarah Fox Beck. She married Ellis D. Holdaway, June 4, 1931, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died June 14, 1984. She grew up in Lehi and attended Lehi High School. In her early years, she worked as a telephone operator and at Morrill's Turkey Plant. She was a long-time employee of the State Training School. She has spent many hours doing service for the disabled. She was involved as an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in the Relief Society presidency and as a visiting teacher. She spent 35 years serving in the ward nursery. She was also a ordinance worker at the Provo Temple. She is survived by her children: Lorna Bevan, Hurricane, Utah; M. Kay (Linda Kaye) Holdaway, Sherman (Kathleen) Holdaway, all of Orem; Paul (Carol) Holdaway, Aptos, California; Marilyn (Kenneth) Leetham, Nan Holdaway, all of Provo; Ned (Suzan) Holdaway, Heber City; 21 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her seven brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 11, at 11 a.m., in the Vineyard Ward Chapel, 800 South Geneva Road, Orem. Hullinger, Shauna Lou Shauna Lou Hullinger Our dear Shauna passed away in the early morning hours of Friday, August 5, 2005, after a three-and-a-half year struggle with metastatic melanoma. She was born September 23, 1961, in The Dalles, Oregon, to Dan Jay and Janeen Jolley Hullinger and grew up in the Pacific Northwest. She married George Dover and was later divorced. A graduate of BYU, Shauna was working on her Master of Public Administration at the time she became ill. She was employed by BYU as a career placement counselor. She is survived by her greatest legacy - her daughter, McKenzie Janeen; and by her parents, Dan and Janeen, Farmington, UT; her siblings: Richard and Marilee Hullinger, West Bountiful, UT; Randy and Michelle Hullinger, Vancouver, WA; Lisa and Jon Hyatt, Eagle Mountain, UT; as well as ten nieces and nephews. She was active in the LDS Church, most recently serving as a Relief Society instructor. Shauna loved to cook, travel, and had the uncanny ability to win every contest she entered. She was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her. A viewing will be held at Berg Mortuary in Provo, 185 E. Center Street, on Tuesday, August 9th, from 6-8 p.m.; and, on Wednesday morning, from 10-10:45 a.m. at the Edgemont North LDS stake center at 4300 Canyon Road, in Provo. Miller, Katherine Meredith Katherine Meredith Miller Ogden - "OH, WHAT A DAY!" - Friday, August 5, 2005, Katherine Meredith Miller passed from her second estate, at the McKay Dee Hospital. She was born December 14, 1912, in Salt Lake City, the oldest of four children, to George C. and Mary Nielsen Meredith. She graduated from West High School and attended LDS Business College. Katherine was married to Henry C. Miller on April 4, 1934, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, by President David O. McKay. She loved music and had been in choirs and directed choirs for many years. Katherine had been employed by Keely s Cafe in Salt Lake, JC Penney, Bon Marche, and the Ogden-Weber Training Center. She was well liked by her employers and was told what a winning smile she had. She made many friends easily and could give a short history of their life, the first five minutes after she met them. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a three-year mission to Central and Northern Germany with her husband. The missionaries loved to come to their home and talk and eat and feel closer to home. Her interests included music, gardening, reading, sewing, and family. She had been a member of several service organizations. Surviving are her children and their spouses: Jerry and Sharrel Miller, Provo; Jean and Kerry Cheney, Fruit Heights; Thomas and Gail Miller, Corpus Christi, Texas; and Marsha and Charles Vogrinec, Riverdale; her brother, William D. (Lillian) Meredith, Taylorsville; one sister-in-law, Maxine Meredith, Boise, Idaho; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, and one grandson. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 9, at 11 a.m., at Lindquist s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. The family will meet friends Monday from 6-8 p.m.; and, Tuesday, from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
