Avis was born on June 21, 1933, to Clinton Albert Barter and Alice Maude Thompson in Salt Lake City. She lived and attended school in Salt Lake until moving to Orem where she lived on Carterville Road in the Provo Riverbottoms. Avis has been living at the Orem Nursing and Rehab Home, where she made many friends, which she loved dearly. Avis was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She went through the Provo Temple and was latter sealed to her parents. Avis had many challenges in her life which she met and overcame to the best of her ability. She was a true friend to everyone she met and enriched many lives. The most important thing in her life was her parents, brother and sisters, nieces and nephews. Avis had many things that she enjoyed in life, which included traveling, camping, her collection of dolls and was a real jazz fan. Avis is survived by sisters, Shirley (Ken) Curtis, Linda (Gary) Campbell, both of Pleasant Grove, and Clinton (Danna) Barter of Wallsburg. Avis had 33 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Betty Barter, and Ruby Pace. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 16, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. in Hillcrest 8th Ward Chapel, 1035 South 800 East, Orem. Family and friends may call from 12:15-1:45 p.m prior to the services at the church. Interment will be in the Orem City Cemetery. Green, Billy Charles Billy Charles Green, age 70, of Sierra Vista, Arizona, passed away August 10th, at Tucson Veteran's Hospital. He was born September 4, 1934, in Tooele, Utah, to Lillian and Ambrose Green. He was the 10th child in his family of 13. Bill spent 18 years with Mapleton City Irrigation as the water master; and, he was devoted to his family. He is survived by his wife, JoeAnn, of 23 years; seven children and eight step-children; four sisters and one brother, 44 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, five sisters and two sons. Funeral services will be held, Monday August 15, 2005, at 1 p.m., in the Vernon LDS Ward, Vernon, UT, where friends may call 11:30-12:30 prior to the service. Interment in the Clover Cemetery. Pedersen, Scott Nathan Scott Nathan Pedersen 1968-2005 Scott Nathan Pedersen, 36, passed away from complications of Leukemia on August 11, 2005, at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, Provo, Utah. He was born November 13, 1968, in Wenatchee, Washington to Kent and Marsha Lewis Pedersen. He is survived by his eternal sweetheart, Joelle, and their three beautiful children, Kelsey, 7, Kendall, 5 and Joshua 3, who reside in Orem, Utah. He is also survived by his mother, Marsha Pedersen, and his seven siblings, Brent (Becky), Michael (Amy), Joelle (Brad), Jenny (Greg), Andy (Stephanie), Stephanie (Mike) and Tim (Angie). Scott graduated from Provo High School in 1987 and served an LDS Mission in Anchorage, Alaska from 1987-1989. Scott and Joelle were married in the Bountiful Temple on March 18, 1995. At the time of his passing, he was an influential partner and employee of Emergency Essentials. Scott is preceded in death by his father, Kent who passed away in December of 1992. Scott will be remembered and loved by all those he came in contact with. His enthusiasm and love for life, his original and quick wit, and his kind and giving heart. Scott was the perfect example of what a husband, father, son and brother should be. Scott's generosity knew no bounds and was always willing to help others in need. Scott enjoyed any activities involving family, canoeing, camping, all of nature and he loved a good meal. Scott s character was never to complain and he always looked for the good in people. He loved to expand his mind through the scriptures, good books and attending college classes for bettering all areas of his life. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2005, in the Sunset Heights 5th Ward Chapel, 1105 West 600 South, Orem. A viewing will be held at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem, from 6-8 p.m. on Monday evening and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the services at the church.
