Gammell, Louise Clyde Louise Clyde Gammell passed away August 12, 2005, from natural causes. "I was born at home on October 8, 1924, in Springville, Utah, a daughter of Wilford W. and Jennie Palfreyman Clyde. I attended school in Springville, graduating from Springville High School in 1942. I was interested in music and played the piano for school programs beginning in third grade. While in Jr. High, I learned to play the accordion and entertained for numerous clubs and other programs. I also played the pipe organ for church services and the piano for high school musicals and choruses. I continued to study piano at the University of Utah. I graduated from the U of U with a B. S. degree in Business Management and played Rachmaninoff's Concerto in B# Minor with the university orchestra at the graduation ceremonies. I was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority. I married my college sweetheart, Blake Hansen Gammell, on July 1, 1946, in the Logan Temple and had a beautiful garden wedding at my parent's home. We moved to Los Angeles, California, while my husband attended dental school at the University of Southern California. In 1947, we moved back to Springville where my husband began his dental practice. During our marriage, five children were born. With much heartache, our second son, Bill, was afflicted with Ewing Sarcoma (bone cancer). Blake and I sought the best care and treatment all over the United States. Bill passed away September 6, 1967, after eight-and-one-half years of our care. On March 7, 1968, a son, John, was born severely mentally handicapped. I devoted a great deal of time and therapy to John. I loved parties and loved to get dressed up. I loved to entertain family and friends in my home. I loved my parents, brothers and sisters, and always enjoyed family get-togethers. I had many close friends all through my life, still getting together with high school friends. I had a sense of humor and always loved to hear and tell a good story. I have a great testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and was a faithful organist for all organizations of the Church and also a teacher. I loved my visiting teaching calling for many years and became good friends with all I visited. I loved my family dearly." Louise was a devoted mother and wife to her husband and children. Her husband and children always came first in her life so she had little time left for music and community affairs. She is survived by her husband, Blake, of Springville; a son, B. Steele, Thomas England Thomas England Steele Thomas England Steele, 28, died August 12, 2005 after a three-year battle with a brain tumor. Tom was born on April 16, 1977 in Hillsboro, Oregon to Thomas Steward Steele and Sandra Shipley Steele. He grew up loving volleyball and soccer (his inbound passes were amazing) and jazz (recruited for the trombone because of his long arms), but his greatest talent by far was vexation an unsolvable challenge for totally unprepared parents. Tom was a paradox: there wasn't a toy, machine, article of clothing, or piece of furniture that he couldn't trash without blinking; but when the punishment was a bit overreaching in frustration, he never failed to immediately forgive. Tom graduated from Clayton Valley High School, California and attended BYU. He married Merle Inserto on November 30, 1996; sealed in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple; later divorced. Tom is a devoted father to his son Malachi, and is deeply sorry to leave him so soon. Tom bore his pain with dignity, humor and charity. He blossomed in service to his Grovecreek Third (YSA) Ward, and was mentored and nurtured by his good Bishop. His message to family and friends would be: Don't worry about me I'm having the time of my life. Be happy. Preceded in death by his grandmother, Elizabeth Steele. Survived by his seven year old son, Malachi delos Steele; parents Tom and Sandy Steele; sisters Jennifer Walker (Timothy), Amy Skouson (Eric), Katy Francom (Erin) and Marian; brothers Matthew (Jenni), Elder Peter Steele and Ben; his grandparents, Elbert Steele and Gerald and Madge Shipley; and scores of other family members. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 16, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the Grovecreek Third and Seventh Ward Chapel, 942 N. 500 E, Pleasant Grove.
