Ray is survived by his best friend and wife of 27 years, Diana, and his four children: Alichea, Beau, Brenna and Matthew; granddaughter, Makala; parents: Frank (Pat) McCoy; his mother, Margaret McCoy; and sister, Kellie McCoy. Ray s passion for baseball started in Key West, Florida, at the age of eight, and progressed through various programs in New London, CT; Westerly, RI; and San Diego, CA; where he starred for the Kearny High School Komets. From there it was on to coaching everything from Little League to Pop Warner Football. He lead the Balboa Raiders (Jr. Midget division) all the way to the Pop Warner Super Bowl. In Utah, his coaching continued at Timpanogos High School and on to Orem High School, where he was the Varsity Baseball Head Coach. In 2004, Ray was selected by the People-to-People Sports Ambassadors to coach Team USA in the Youth Friendship Tournament located in Holland. There, he guided his team to win the Gold.
