She was born in Nephi, Utah, to Lucy Maud Warr and Wilford Belliston September 17, 1908. Lucy Maud Warr died of childbirth complications and Edith was raised by Winifred Warr Belliston, the sister of Edith's natural mother, and second wife of Wilford Belliston. She was educated in Juab County schools, Utah State Agricultural College and Brigham Young University. She married Dr. Francis H. Beckstead in 1930 in the Manti Temple and raised five children, Marilyn Andrews, George, Robert, and Marriner Beckstead, and Elizabeth (Betty) Williams. Edith was a lifelong faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many capacities, most notably as director of the two stake genealogy libraries for 25 years. The other principle interests in her life were the gospel, her family, and teaching elementary school in Levan and Nephi. Her posterity includes 19 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She is survived by most of the grandchildren, by her son Robert Beckstead, and his wife Doris of Fairfax, Virginia, by her son Marriner L. Beckstead, his wife Jean of Elk Ridge, Utah, and by her daughter Elizabeth (Betty) Williams and her husband Arlo of Layton, Utah, her sister Donna Jenkins and husband Loskiel of San Diego, California, and her sister-in-law, Betty Belliston of Nephi, Utah. A viewing will be held Thursday, August 18, at the Anderson Funeral Home, 94 W. 300 N., Nephi, Utah, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at the church one hour prior to the services. The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 19, at the Nephi 8th Ward Chapel, 222 S. 100 E., Nephi, Utah. Interment will be in the Nephi Vine Bluff Cemetery. Published in the Daily Herald on 8/17/2005. Blatter, Reed LaMont Reed LaMont Blatter 1979 2005 Reed passed away on August 13, 2005 at the age of 25, in Provo, Utah. He was born on September 17, 1979. Reed was fortunate to have four loving parents, (Donna and Mark Tondro, and Michelle and Gary Blatter) one sister (April Blatter) and six brothers (Benjamin Blatter, Andrew Lisonbee, Jordan Garrett, Austin Lisonbee, Dalton Tondro and Cayden Blatter). Reed received a certificate of graduation from Mountain View High School and worked at Central Utah Enterprises in Provo, Utah. Reed loved family and friends. He knew all of his Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins birthdays and anniversaries and would, without fail, call each person on their special day to make sure they knew he cared. Reed also participated in soccer, baseball, swimming, and cycling through the Orem Adaptive Sports program and won many awards in Special Olympics. Most of all Reed loved to shop and cook. He was known as our little "Salsa King". Reed is also survived by his grandparents, (Kay M. Blatter, Charles and Ingrid Schreiber, Charles Johnson and Sheila Smith) thirty-one aunts and uncles, and fifty-five cousins. Reed blessed each of our lives with his spunky personality and he will be missed by all that knew him. As a family, we thank Jenny White and all of the individuals who have worked with, and befriended Reed through programs that assist people with developmental disabilities. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 19, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Orem Park Second Ward, 1160 West 400 South, Orem, Utah. Friends may visit at the same location Thursday, August 18, 2005 from 7 to 9 p.m. Interment: Ammon City Cemetery, Idaho Falls, Idaho at 11 a.m. Saturday August 20, 2005. It s all about "The Love." Published in the Daily Herald on 8/17/2005. Drury, Alan D. Alan D. Drury passed away August 14, 2005 in California after a long battle with cancer. He was born on October 8, 1949 in Alliance, Neb., the fourth child of Beth and Marvin Drury. He graduated from Orem High School where he played Varsity Football and was a member of the marching band. He graduated from Southern Utah State College in 1971. He coached football and taught history in Washington and later at Orem High School. He married MaryLee Owens on June 10, 1972 in the Provo Temple. During their marriage, five children were born. Four sons survived. In 1976 he attended Officer Candidate School and Flight School. He was a Captain in the Marines and served as a Search and Rescue Helicopter Pilot at the Marine Corps Air Station in El Toro, CA. He was a faithful member of the LDS Church serving as Young Men s President, Ward Clerk, Seminary Teacher, Executive Secretary, and as Scout Master for 5 years. His four sons all attained the rank of Eagle Scout and served honorable missions. He is survived by his wife, MaryLee, four sons, Jared (Diane), John (Nancy), Tom, and Robert, 2 grandaughters, and his mother Beth Drury, one brother, Douglas (Beverly), 2 sisters Marva McKenzie (Mike), Janis Curtis (George). Preceded in death by his infant daughter and his father Marvin Drury. Funeral Services held Wednesday, August 17, 2005 in Temecula, CA. Graveside services held Friday, August 19 at 11:00 a.m. at the Orem City Cemetery. Published in the Daily Herald on 8/17/2005. Pulsipher, Vera Harding Vera Harding Pulsipher, 84, passed away August 15, 2005 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born September 17, 1920 in Pleasant Grove, Utah to Milton J. and Myrtle M. Harding. She married Robert LeRoy Pulsipher, Sr. on November 28, 1939 in Provo, Utah, later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on September 3, 1952. He passed away December 6, 1977. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She belonged to two Daughters of the Utah Pioneers camps. She enjoyed reading, quilting, and telling stories about her family. She is survived by 5 children, LaRae (Dean) Oliver of Salt Lake City, Utah; Jack (Eilene) Pulsipher of Lander, Wyoming; Jerry (Marlene) Pulsipher of West Valley City, Utah (currently serving an LDS mission in Capetown, South Africa); Burton (Joy) Pulsipher of Wellington, Utah; and Anne (John) Isaac of Provo, Utah; one sister, Maud Hazel of Spanish Fork, Utah; one brother, Lee Harding of Blackfoot, Idaho; 33 grandchildren, and 60 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 4 sons, LeRoy Jr., Jim, Kent, and Leonard, 4 brothers and 1 sister. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 19, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the Lakeside Fourth Ward Chapel, 2400 West 50 North, Provo, Utah. Friends may visit at the church Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Interment at the Springville Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Berg Mortuary.
