Maurice J "Brig" Dahl, age 86 of Lehi, died August 23, 2005 at his home of cancer. He was born June 3, 1919 in Lehi, Utah, son of August LeRoy and Blanche Elizabeth Jacobs Dahl. He married Donna Marie Holmstead, June 11, 1948 in Lehi. Brig was a veteran of World War II and made the military his life's career, retiring as a Warrant Officer from the Army and Utah National Guard. He was a member of the LDS Church. Survived by his wife, Donna of Lehi; three sons, LaMar (Marilyn) Dahl, Cedar Hills; Eric (Tommylu) Dahl, Elba, ID; Clinton (Lana) Dahl, Spanish Fork; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brothers, Stanford LeRoy (Helen) Dahl, American Fork; Wesley (Joyce) Turner, Lehi. Graveside services will be held Monday, Aug. 29, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the Lehi City Cemetery with military honors by members of the Special Forces. Funeral Directors, Wing Mortuary. Mecham Together Again Charleston, UT- Together in death as they were in life, Amos and Mary will have funeral services together Monday, August 29, 2005 11:00 A.M. in the Charleston LDS Church, 3423 South 3500 West, Charleston, Utah. Friends may call on Sunday from 6:00 8:00 P.M. at the LDS Church and on Monday from 9:45 10:45 A.M. prior to the services also at the LDS Church. Interment will be in the Charleston Cemetery. Mary Ekins Mecham Mary E. Mecham, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2005, in Provo, Utah. Born February 23, 1915, in Provo, Utah, the daughter of Reed Rudolph and Virgie Myrle Phillips Ekins. She was educated in Page and Lincoln High School in Orem. She married Amos Cardell Mecham May 25, 1933, in Heber, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on October 29, 1965. Mary graduated from the Provo Beauty School in Provo and worked in Provo while there. She worked at Small Arms Plant in Kearns, McDonalds Candy Co. in Salt Lake City, Berdett Sewing & Apparel in Heber and Mecham s Service Station. Mary and Amos cared for many people in their home. She was an active member of the LDS Church, serving 15 years in Primary, five years as Secretary of Primary and Genealogy Committee in Spring Lake, Utah. She taught mutual, Sunday School and has been a lifelong Relief Society Visiting Teacher, and she and Amos were LDS Temple workers. She is a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers; taught 4-H Club, and was a member of the 4-H herself. Mary served as a Volunteer Telephone Reassurance for Senior Citizens She is survived by one son, Jack Amos Mecham; three daughters, Arlene (Chuck) Chandler, Virgie (Stanley) Haskell, Janet (Randy) Maestas; 15 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Minnie Hill; four brothers: Reed R. Ekins, Dr. Shirley L. Ekins, Elmer Ekins, Alton E. Ekins. She is preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and two brothers: LaNyle Ekins, James Emery Ekins, Maurine E. Brailsford, Paul E. Ekins, Colleen Ekins and Mildred E. Ellis. Amos Cardell Mecham Amos C. Mecham, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2005, in Provo, Utah. Born April 26, 1913, in Wallsburg, Utah, the son of Alma LaFayette and Lula Davis Mecham. He was raised on a farm in Wallsburg, being educated in Wallsburg and attending Wasatch High School in Heber City. He married Mary Ekins May 25, 1933, in Heber, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on October 29, 1965. Amos worked for 13 years at Kennecott Copper Co. in Bingham, Utah, as a brakeman and as an engineer. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. He also worked for 12 years as a road maintenance man for Charleston Town, taking care of the cemetery, park, and town roads. He also served as Deputy of Charleston Town for 12 years. Later he worked at Geneva Steel, for Hicken Feed Co. and the Pipe Plant. Amos was a successful farmer running a grade "A" Dairy, raising cattle and sheep and growing hay and grain. Amos loved his wife of 72 years and his family. Some of his favorite hobbies and pastimes included hunting, fishing and dancing. He was a High Priest in the LDS Church and served in many callings including scout leader, Sunday School Presidency, and a lifelong home teacher. He and Mary also served as LDS Temple workers. They cared for many brothers and sisters in their home. He is survived by one son, Jack Amos Mecham; three daughters, Arlene (Chuck) Chandler, Virgie (Stanley) Haskell, Janet (Randy) Maestas; 15 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by four sisters and five brothers: Mildred Robertson, Oral North, Thora Mecham, Aurla Mecham Broadhead, Laren, Lester, Dazel, Hal and Blaine Mecham.
