She was surrounded by her family as she always was throughout her life. She was born in Glendale, California January 17th, 1945 to George & Bernice Lindsey. She graduated from High School in Chicago before attending Brigham Young University where she met her husband and eternal companion, Steven William Booras. On January 15th, 1965 they were married & sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. Susan was a devoted wife and mother who cherished her family above all else. She was a former executive director of America's Freedom Festival at Provo, WordPerfect team leader and event planner. She impacted many lives as a wonderfully talented leader in both the business community and her church. Her most recent church assignment was Relief Society President. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Steven, her son, Kimball Springall of Midvale, daughter Becky (Kip) of Spanish Fork, daughter Kirsten (Corey) of Spanish Fork, daughter Missy (Owen) of Nevada City, CA, daughter Cindi (Matthew) of Spanish Fork, son-in-law Chris Neilson of St. George, and brother Donald Lindsey of Atlanta, GA. She was preceded in death by her daughter Kerryanne Neilson and her grandson Callen Neilson, and her parents George & Bernice Lindsey. Funeral Services will be Monday, December 12th, 2005 at 11:00 AM at the Aspen Meadows Chapel on 1400 East and 1700 South in Spanish Fork, Utah. There will be a viewing at Walker Mortuary on 187 South Main in Spanish Fork on Sunday Evening from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM and Monday at the Aspen Meadows Chapel one hour prior to the funeral service. She was born December 22, 1950 at Provo, Utah to Guy Elden and Mary Gearldine Robinson Wilson. She married John D. Erdmann, May 11, 1973 at Springville, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized May 11, 1974 in the Manti LDS Temple. Kathy enjoyed reading, crocheting and especially spending time with her daughter and family. She showed great concern for others and those with special needs. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in numerous positions. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Survivors include: her husband, John and daughter, Amber, of Payson; her parents, Guy and Geri Wilson, Springville; brothers and sisters, Lloyd (Debbie) Wilson, Springville; David (Edna) Wilson, Provo; Steven Wilson, Springville; Christine (Mike) Hutchings, Payson; Karen (Mike) Beardall, Provo; Caleen (Dustun) Haun, Payson and Koreen Wilson of Springville. Hales, Louise Atwood Our beloved mother, grandmother and sister has left our presence to be with her eternal mate. Agnes Louise Nelson Atwood Hales, 87 of Spanish Fork, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2005 in Spanish Fork. She was born on September 14, 1918 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Oliver Willard and Ferrel Blackett Nelson. She married Fred Atwood and he later passed away. She married Elmer Hales and he later died. She is survived by her 6 children; Carol (Charles) Scholl, of Nevada; Doyle (Kathleen) Atwood, of Taylorsville; Clarence "Jim" (Jana) Atwood, of Spanish Fork; Janet (Jesse) McCury, of Oregon and Lawrence "Larry" (Fern) Atwood, of Payson; Ray (Sue) Atwood, of Spanish Fork; a daughter in law: Shauna Atwood; 35 grandchildren; 74 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren; one brother and two sisters: Wendell (Arlene) Nelson, of Springville; Marie (Jack) Waters and Helen Olson, both of Spanish Fork; and a sister in law: Jean Nelson. She was preceded in death by a son: Kendall Atwood; a daughter: Marion Atwood; and two brothers: Leon Nelson and William "Jim" Nelson. Snyder, Florence Kathleen Weeter Florence Kathleen Weeter Snyder, 79, of Provo passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 8, 2005 at her home. She was born in the same home to the late Glenn Porter and Laura Marenda Jacobson Weeter on November 11, 1926. She attended elementary through high school at the B.Y. High in Provo. During her young adult years, she worked for her father at the Riverside Motel in Provo. She married Blaine Elvin Snyder on June 17, 1947 in Provo, Utah and they were later happily sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on June 17, 1953 for time and all eternity. Florence had a deep love for music from singing to playing the piano and organ. She enjoyed singing with the Singing Mother in the Provo Tabernacle for several years. She also sang solos in a Summer Cantata. She shared this talent in several of her LDS Church callings. The family wishes to give special thanks to 1st Choice Hospice and to Stacey for their loving care to Florence during her last days. She is survived by: her husband, Blaine; three sons, Elvin (Linda, deceased), Everett (Kathy), Earl (Claudine), all from Provo; two daughters, Mary Ford, Lehi, Melody Staples (Kay), Richfield; twenty grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Raisa Veone Weeter Walker; brother, Warren Glenn Weeter; and grandsons, Garren Loebel and Grant Loebel. Sumsion, Irene Humphries Irene Humphries Sumsion, age 86, passed away at her home peacefully on December 7th, surrounded and being cared for by her loving family. Irene was born on October 26, 1919 to John Allen Humphries and Emma Thompson Bleak in Hurricane, Utah. She was the 7th of 15 children. Irene was educated in Hurricane, Ogden and graduated from Springville High School where she met George Ray Sumsion. They were married on March 20, 1939 in Oakland, California. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Jordan River Temple. Ray and Irene made their early life in Caliente, Nevada where Ray began his 41 year career with the Union Pacific Railroad. The first two of their three children were born in Caliente before their return to Springville. Springville became their home for 52 years and Ray passed on May 23, 2000. Irene spoke glowingly of a happy childhood in southern Utah with outings to Zion's Canyon surrounded by her large family in that close community. Their family life was comfortable and simple through the depression years with hard work and loving parents. Irene loved music from an early age, and she particularly liked the big band era. She was a chorister for many years and she loved the hymns and primary songs. A prolific reader, especially in retirement years, she found time for the Utah Jazz and followed BYU sports closely. Irene was very patriotic and followed politics closely as well. She had a very strong work ethic and retired from Brookside Happy Service Market. Irene was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved and was close to her brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and was involved in their lives. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many ways. She loved to travel the West with Ray and enjoyed explaining their adventures to their children. She was generous with time and resources. Recent adventures included a Denver train trip with her 34 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also accompanied her family on a Caribbean cruise in her 83rd year. She had a wonderful memory which illuminated her life experience to those who loved being with her and hearing her colorful life story. She remained the consummate and poised storyteller to the end. Irene is survived by her 3 children: Earl (Susan) Sumsion, Taylorsville, Utah; Susan (Alan) Johnson, Spanish Fork, Utah; Kate (Sam) Walker, Orem, Utah; 19 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. And also surviving is one sister Ruby (Wil) Jennings, Hurricane, Utah; one sister-in-law Lucile Watts, Roy, Utah. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 12, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hobble Creek West Stake Center, 555 South 600 East in Springville, Utah. Friends may call Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South, Springville, Utah and at 9:45 a.m. at the church prior to the funeral service. Interment will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery. LIBERTY - Kent Marshall Van De Graaff, Ph.D., passed away in Providence, Utah on Wednesday, December 7, 2005 after a recent diagnosis of cancer and without undue suffering. Dr. Van De Graaff was born on May 21, 1942 in Ogden, Utah to John and Ellen Van De Graaff. He attended Weber High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Weber State College during which time he met and married Karen Waldron of Morgan, Utah in the Logan Temple in 1962. He received his Masters degree in zoology from the University of Utah and then a Ph.D. in zoology from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. His first appointment as professor was at the University of Minnesota in 1973. Two years later he accepted a position at Brigham Young University where he taught human anatomy for 20 years. Since 1996 he served as a professor of anatomy and as pre-professional advisor at his alma mater, Weber State University, where he actively taught until shortly before his death. Dr. Van De Graaff was a prodigious author of over two dozen textbooks, laboratory manuals, study guides, and atlases in the fields of anatomy, physiology and biology. He was a renowned expert in the field of zoology education and ushered many of his publications into numerous editions. He was a beloved professor to thousands of students over his three-decade career and many current health care professionals regard him as a profound inspiration in their lives. Dr. Van De Graaff received numerous awards and recognitions for excellence in teaching¥all who attended his lectures marveled at his unusual ability to turn the difficult study of human anatomy into an exciting and entertaining endeavor. Despite this professional success his true passion was his family and we, his children, are eternally grateful for the many years we had with him. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Karen, and three siblings. He is survived by his children Kyle and Therese, Omaha, Nebraska; Eric and Cheryl, Omaha, Nebraska; Ryan and Colette, Lincoln, Nebraska; Arie and Mindy Sandy, Utah; Jena and Marc Lawson, Providence, Utah; and Joel, Liberty, Utah; his 14 grandchildren; four brothers Wayne in Calexico, California; John in Argyle, Wisconsin; Fred in Houston, Texas; David in Boise, Idaho; and three sisters Ellen Mitchell in Ogden; Lucille Rackham in Ogden; Sherma Price in Myton, Utah. A viewing will be held Sunday, December 11 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., Ogden, UT 84401 (801-394-6666). An additional viewing will be held Monday, December 12 at 1:00 p.m. with the funeral to follow at 1:30 pm. These services will take place in the Allred Theater located in the Browning Fine Arts Center on the Weber State University campus. Interment will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
