She had three brothers and three sisters. She was raised in Lindon, Utah. She married Harold Sidney Peterson on November 10, 1938. They were later sealed in the Provo L.D.S. Temple, on their 40th Anniversary, November 10, 1978. Sid later died, in 1984. She then married Curg Madsen, November 8, 1986. He also preceded her in death. She lived in Orem, Colorado, St. George, and spent her winters in Yuma, Arizona. LaDean died of pneumonia, which was a complication of a brain tumor and a bad heart, on December 16, 2005, in St. George. LaDean is survived by a sister, Beverly Zabriskie, St. George; her children: Melva Jean (Bruce) Peterson, Colorado; Karen LaDean (Jim) Crabtree, St. George; Harold Brent (Shirley) Peterson, Orem; Judy Gay (Lynn) Christensen, Orem; Sherry Lynn Fisher, Colorado. She has 26 grandchildren and 54 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday December 21, 2005, at 1 p.m., in the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home located at 646 East 800 North, Orem. Friends and family may call from 11:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m. prior to the services. Interment will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
