Kim July 25, 1945 - Dec 21, 2005 Husband, Father, Psychologist, Educator and Therapist - Dr. E. Kim Johnson was born in East Ely, McGill, Nevada to Ernest Johnson and Blenda Deline Bredsguard. He is survived by his spouse, Karen C. Johnson; son, Warren K. Johnson; daughter, Liberty C. Johnson (Don J. Belback); grandchildren, April Ann Johnson, Mackinley J. Belback, Maggie C. Belback, and soon to be added Macie E. Belback; and brother, Gary B. Johnson. He dearly loved his in-laws. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law and by his parents Dr. Johnson was born and raised in Nevada; he always carried the Nevada State Song in his heart. He had many adventures in the High Desert growing up and dearly loved his birth state. Graduating with high honors from McGill High School he went on to Brigham Young University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1967. He joined the U.S. Air Force in that same year as a Commissioned Officer and proudly served his country while stationed in Oklahoma, California and West Germany, eventually attaining the rank of Captain. He married his eternal soul mate and love of his life, Karen C. Dusenberry, on May 8, 1969. In 1971 they were sealed for all time and eternity in the Swiss Temple, Switzerland. While serving in West Germany, he earned his Master of Arts in Psychology with Ball State University. He separated from the U.S. Air Force in 1972. He pursued and attained his Ph.D. in Educational Psychology plus Certification in Marriage and Family Therapy from Brigham Young University in 1975, thus embarking on his career in Psychology. During his career he affected many lives, helping those in need of guidance. In 1996 he retired from Psychology and utilized his people reading skills in his later life career as a Loss Prevention Specialist with a major retail corporation. A kind, loving, nurturing, caring husband, father, grandfather and friend, he will be deeply missed by all that came in contact with him. He deeply affected the lives of many people. If ever there was an individual that truly had a "Joie de Vive" it was him. God speed darling, we'll meet again. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the Berg Mortuary Drawing Room Chapel, 185 E. Center Street, Provo, Utah. Friends may call at the mortuary on Tuesday evening, December 27, 2005 from 6-8 p.m., and on Wednesday, one hour prior to services. Pulley, James Reed James Reed Pulley, 79, died December 23, 2005, in Provo, Utah. Born September 26, 1926, in American Fork, Utah, to Noah Malanda and Rebecca Goates Pulley. He married his childhood sweetheart, June Slater, on June 4, 1947, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and they have been married for 58 years. Reed worked at Geneva Steel for 37 years as a brick mason and maintenance foreman. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings, including Bishop. He and June also served as temple workers in the Provo and Mt. Timpanogos Temples. He loved to spend time with his family, especially camping. His family was the most important thing in his life. He is survived by his wife, June; two daughters and a son: Wayne (Helen) Pulley, Janet (John) Woffinden, and Cindy Hatton; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, granddaughter, and four siblings. Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 28, at 11 a.m., in the American Fork Stake Center, 240 South Center. Rasmussen, Jay Dallas 1967 ~ 2005 Jay passed away peacefully at his American Fork, UT, home of brain cancer, 23 December 2005. He was born 22 September 1967, in Juneau, Alaska, to James Dallas and Jeanne Oswald Rasmussen. Jay grew up in Valdez, AK, where he graduated as valedictorian. He went to BYU on a full-tuition scholarship. He served an faithful LDS mission to Melbourne, Australia. He married Janette Amy Schmuhl in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, 19 December 1992. His analytical mind helped him excel as a mechanical engineer. Jay's well-developed sense of humor was enjoyed by all who knew him. He was a devoted daddy, whose gospel insights enriched the lives of his family and friends. He is survived by his wife; sons: James, Nathan, Andrew, Matthew, and Timothy; parents, brothers: Jeff (Heidi), and Aaron (Laurissa); and sisters: Tanya (Scott) Meyer, and Julie (Tom) Riley. We are thrilled that Jay is finally free. Funeral services for Jay will be held Wednesday, 28 December 2005, at 11 a.m., in the American Fork 30th LDS Ward Chapel, 270 North 900 East, American Fork, Utah. Family and friends may call Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Warenski Funeral Home, 1776 North 900 East, American Fork, Utah; and, Wednesday morning from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church. John Earl Rowley, 93, died December 20, 2005 of congestive heart failure at Cove Point Retirement Center in Provo, Utah. He was born in Summit, Utah November 8, 1912, to Joseph Hyrum and Alice Beecroft Rowley. He married Shirley E. Staker in 1934. They were later divorced. He married Jennie L. Freckleton in 1946. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. She died in 1971. He then married Gertrude C. Coombs in the Provo Temple in 1972. She died in 2001. John graduated from the old Lincoln High School in Orem, Utah. He later graduated from the U. S. Maritime Engineering School at Alameda, California. He served in the U.S. Maritime Merchant Marines during World War II, in both the Pacific and Atlantic theaters. John worked on the Hoover Dam in Nevada. He lived and worked in San Francisco for 12 years. During that time both the Golden Gate Bridge and the Bay Bridge were built. He was employed at BYU for 25 years. When John retired, Gertrude and he enjoyed traveling.He was BYU's #1 fan. Blue is hisfavorite color! He enjoyed traveling with the Cougar Club and with family and friends to many football games. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.He served as the first Bishop of the Provo 20th ward and was in the first Branch Presidency at Cove Point Retirement Center. He served at the Provo Temple for many years. He was a faithful HomeTeacher. John is survived by his daughters, Pattie (Bob) Drennan, Sonora, California; Alice L. Rowley, Springville, Utah and step daughter, Diana J. Coombs, Sylmar, California. Eight Grandchildren. Twenty four Great Grandchildren, nine Great, Great Grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wives, daughter DeDe Adams and his brothers and sisters. We wish to thank the loving staff of Cove Point, and Dr. Richard Olsen, even though he is a Crimson Club member. Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. in the Cascade Chapel at Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street, Orem.
