Renae was born November 23, 1936, in Spanish Fork, to Florene Rowbury and R. Dean Johnson. She attended schools in Spanish Fork. She married her childhood sweetheart, Jay E. Ainge, on November 24, 1954, in Spanish Fork. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple. Her talents and accomplishments include: playing the piano, ceramics, knitting, crocheting, embroidery, quilting, and sewing, which she generously shared with family and friends. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, fishing, hunting, and snowmobile trips at their Strawberry cabin; and, later at their Indianola cabin. Jay and Renae worked as partners in their plumbing business and all other aspects of their lives. She loved: winters in Quartzsite, AZ, visiting teaching, grandchildren, candy, roses, the gospel, music, people, camping, and eating out. Survivors include her daughters: Carlene (Robert) Beckstrand, Meadow; Nita (Doug) Carter, Lake Shore; Sandy (Larry) Leavitt, Yakima, WA; Suzi (Bert) Carter, American Fork; sister, Gwen (Keith) Barney; step-mother, Neva Johnson; step-sisters: Charlene (Doug) Allen; Paulette (Larry) LeDuc; step-brother, Bryant (Colleen) Sanderson; three sisters-in-law: Marlene Mayo, Betty Kaye (Rowley) Curtis, and Helen Ainge; 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and many cherished nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, mother, father, and brother, Carl Dean Johnson. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 29, in the Lake Shore Church, 5916 South 3200 West, Lake Shore, at 11 a.m. Friends and family may call on Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Walker Mortuary, 187 South Main in Spanish Fork; and, one hour prior to services at the church. Baum, Blaine Orville Blaine Baum passed away December 23, 2005, while surrounded by his family. He now rests peacefully until the Lord's return. Blaine was born on July 9, 1930, to Floyd and Edith Baum. He was raised, and attended school, in Provo. He married Mary Alice Waid on June 1, 1948. He retired from Geneva Steel in 1984; and, then worked in the mailroom at Utah Valley State College until 1994. Blaine loved not only his family, but all he met. Everyone was greeted with a smile. Serving others brought him great joy. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of his life. He couldn't stand to see any of them sad. Blaine was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. He spent many dedicated hours helping to maintain the church facility. He also loved volunteering at the Food and Care Coalition in Provo. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary; his six children: Brend Ehl, Cindy (Don) Pace, Jeff (Michelle) Baum, Jim (Anna) Baum, Michelle (Kevin) James, Steve (Tammy) Baum; his 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; his brothers, Chuck (Louise), Giles (Shirley), Farrell, Allen (Carol); his baby sister, Marsha; and his many loved nieces, nephews, and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, and great-nephew. Funeral services will be held at the Provo Seventh-day Adventist Church, 255 South 700 East, in Provo, on December 29, 2005, at 1 p.m. A viewing will be held at the church from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Interment will be in the Provo City Cemetery. Nolan, Patrick Eugene Patrick Eugene Nolan, age 59, died December 24, 2005, at the Utah Valley Medical Center in Provo, Utah, from complications of diabetes. Pat was born March 17, 1946, in Cortez, CO, the son of Antonio and Celia Nolan. He and his family moved to Utah in 1949, where he attended public schools in Ogden and Salt Lake City. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1964 and served in the Vietnam War, where he was subjected to the chemical, Agent Orange, which is believed to have brought on the diabetes. After his discharge, he worked as a home builder in the Salt Lake area; and, later moved to Provo, where he worked for more than 20 years for the Postal Service as a mail handler and Union Steward. In 1976, he married Mary Farhat. They were later divorced. Patrick spent most of his life dedicating himself to his church and his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He is most remembered for his quick wit and jovial sense of humor. He always went to great lengths to attend every family function. Pat was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and a brother. He is survived by his children: Theresa (Jason) Rowland, Provo, UT; Ryan Nolan, Provo, UT; Angelina Nolan, Rockford, MN; brothers; Albert Nolan, Sun City, AZ; Michael Nolan, Rigby, ID; Antonita (Norman) Gee, Sacramento, CA; Lea Nolan, Milwaukee, WI. Pat also has six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 29, 2005, 11 a.m., at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 65 East 500 North, Orem, UT. Friends may call Wednesday, December 28, from 6-7 p.m., with the Vigil service at 7 p.m., at Berg Mortuary, 185 East Center St., Provo, UT; and, from 10-11 a.m., at St. Francis, Thursday, prior to services. Peterson, Miriam (Vance) April 25, 1916 ~ December 22, 2005 Miriam Vance Peterson of Clayton, California, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren on December 22, 2005. Miriam was born April 25, 1916, in Rose, Idaho, one of 10 siblings, to Serena Broadbent and Hyrum Vance. She was raised in Utah, where she married Ralph Christiansen in 1933. She moved to California in 1952, when she married John Wesley Bray, who predeceased her in 1965. She later married Reid Peterson in 1967, who passed away in 1979. Miriam worked as an Eligibility Worker for the Contra Costa County Welfare Dept., retiring in 1977. Her love of music and the arts was not lost on any of those whose lives she touched. She had been church organist in the Pittsburg, CA, and Clayton Valley Wards of the LDS Church for many decades and was frequently called upon to play for weddings or special occasions. Her piano sat prominently in her living room for adults and children alike to play. She'd proudly show even the smallest child how to place their hands upon the keys; then, taught them chopsticks, which they would thoroughly enjoy. Above all, her loves were her love for her family. Miriam had six natural children: Ruth Coomer of Denver, CO; Sylvia Bloodworth of Brentwood, CA; Carma Royce of La Quinta, CA; Cathy Hendrickson of Penn Valley, CA; Keith Bray of Dublin, CA; and was predeceased by her son, Max of Sandy, UT. Miriam was also blessed with five stepchildren: Kent Bray of AZ; Steven Bray of Salt Lake City; Ron Peterson and Jim Peterson of Concord, CA; and was predeceased by Karen Beck of Antioch, CA. Miriam was also blessed with 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Services will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday, December 28, 2005, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Alberta Way in Concord, California, with a viewing from 9-10 a.m. A viewing will be held Tuesday evening at Oak Park Hills Chapel in Walnut Creek 7 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to NAMI of Contra Costa, Attn: Treasurer, P.O.
