He was born March 25, 1917 to Johannes Martinus and Johanna Mathilda Bernards. Robert grew up in the San Francisco Bay area where he participated in drama and football while in high school. He married his childhood sweetheart, Lorraine Schneider and they had two boys together. After Lorraine died, Robert and his brother served in the Merchant Marines in the Philippine Islands. After World War II ended, he married Helen Musson whom he loved dearly. They were later sealed together in the Oakland, California Temple. They had three more boys and one beautiful daughter. Robert enjoyed baking, playing tennis, camping, fishing, and other outdoor sports, but he enjoyed spending time with his family most of all. Robert is survived by his sons, Bobby (Judy), Garry (Sasha), Steven, Kenneth (Dixie), Greggory, and by his daughter Laurie Ballard. He had 20 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. He will be missed by his family members and all who knew him and ate his delicious pastries and baked goods. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 30, 2005, at 11:30 a.m. In the Suncrest 6th Ward building, 891 W. 130 N. in Orem. A viewing will begin at 10 a.m. that morning. GEORGE - Joseph LeRoy "Roy" Bills passed away December 23, 2005 in St. George, Utah after a brief illness. He was born January 29, 1932 in Payson, Utah the eldest child of Joseph Sterling Bills and Dolly Maurine Daley. He married Francis Hallett Van Ausdal in May 1975 in Ely, Nevada. Roy graduated from Payson High and was twice awarded first place at the Western States Regional Competition in marksmanship. He was a coach and the co-founder for Payson Little League Baseball, as well as an instructor and co-founder of the local gun safety course. He also cofounded the Payson Kiwanis Club. He made his early career as a brick mason and later worked at Nebo Lanes and Duke's Lanes Alley. After graduating from the Law Enforcement Academy, he took a position with the Payson Police Department and served the city with a notable record. He later moved to St. George, Utah and worked as the manager for many years of the Western Safari Motel. Roy will be greatly missed and remembered for his love and appreciation of the outdoors, his kindness and unceasing support of family and friends, his sense of humor, his compassion despite his gruff exterior, and the example he showed us by treating all people with respect. Roy was preceded in death by his wife and parents. He is survived by his stepchildren and their families: Sandra (Carl) Rasmussen, Salt Lake City; Sherry (Dale) Hughes, St. George; and Sharon (Mertin) Moon, Springville, Bryce Van Ausdal, Salt Lake City. Brinton, Milton Howe April 22, 1921-December 27, 2005 Dr. Milton Howe Brinton died peacefully in his sleep at his daughter's home in Pleasant Grove, Utah, on December 27, 2005, after spending a delightful holiday with his family. Milt lived a full life! He loved hunting, fishing, camping, skiing, scuba diving and family vacations. In his youth he was active in sports, boxing, student government and scouting. He earned his Eagle at 13 and was also a Silver Beaver recipient. He had an enthusiasm for life and a work ethic that will long be remembered. His greatest joy came from serving others and sharing his fishing "secrets" with the kids! Milt had an unquenchable desire to learn and he loved to study church doctrine. He was active in the LDS church and became a great "fisher" of men while serving a mission to Canada and later serving two more missions with his wife to Africa and Argentina. He taught his children the Gospel by his life-long example of faithful obedience and service. Milt loved working as a sealer in the Provo Temple. He was devoted to his wife, family and the Savior. Milt was born April 22, 1921, in Victor, Idaho to Milton Huffaker and Sarah Edna Howe Brinton. He married Leah Ritchie in the Idaho Falls Temple on August 20, 1946. He served in the ROTC, COTC and as Full Commander in the US Marine hospital in San Francisco, CA. He later opened a private practice in vascular and general surgery in Oakland, California. Milt and Leah raised their children in the Bay Area. His wife preceded him in death just five months ago. He is survived by his six children: Milton H. Brinton (Barbara), Mission President in Rio, Brazil; Jill Bigelow (Rob), Pleasant Grove, UT; Jody Ross (Wayne), Provo, UT; Cheryl Bailey (Dave), Provo, UT; Gary Brinton (Monica), Provo, UT; Rodney Brinton, Orem, UT. He currently has twenty-seven grandchildren and thirty-four great-grandchildren. Crook, Elaine Osborn Patten Our loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother completed her mission on this earth December 27, 2005. Elaine was born to Iva Rich and Glenn Osborn on June 27, 1920 in Salt Lake City. She was the middle child of three children. After graduating from South High School, she married Harold C. Patten in the Salt Lake Temple on March 4, 1938. He passed away in 1994. She married Darwin Lynn Crook in the Provo Temple on May 2, 1997. Elaine's life was a life of service to others. She nursed and cared for many in her extended family. She served faithfully in many leadership positions in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a gracious hostess, she was always concerned about making everyone comfortable. She was a wonderful cook and she willingly shared with neighbors and friends. She was talented as a musician, playing the piano and organ. Elaine was a long-term temple worker in the Provo Temple. She enjoyed having a beautiful garden. She had many friends whose friendship she valued. She will be remembered by her family through the many family traditions she created. Cutler, Wayne Leo Wayne Leo Cutler passed away on December 27, 2005, at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center due to a sudden illness. His loving family was at his side as he took his last breath and left his earthly life. Wayne Leo Cutler was born on February 28, 1929 in Spanish Fork, Utah to Leo Thomas and Mary Gwendolyn Cutler. He married R'Teen Beesley on June 2, 1951 in Springville, Utah, they were sealed on June 2, 1961 in the Manti Temple as Eternal partners. R'Teen B. Cutler passed away on February 19, 1999. Wayne married Mary Deanna Brimhall on September 13, 1999. To our husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. You have always been there for us through our joys and sorrows. Your smile, your strength and your love will always be with us and we know that you will be looking down upon us as we continue our journey through life. Wayne is survived by wife Deanna, and his children Gordon (Linda) of Tremonton, Utah; Pattie Hansen of South Jordan, Utah; Richard (Nola) of Union, Missouri; Yvonne (Ed) Manookin of Orem, Utah; Michael (Kelli) of Springville, Utah; and Jon (Brenda) of Springville, Utah; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Laura (Bill ) McLean; a brother Harold (Chiyome) Cutler; two sisters-in-law, Juanita Mellor and Leah (Dennis) Holt, and many extended family members who knew him as father and grandfather. Wayne served in the United States Navy, and is a Korean War Veteran. Throughout his life, Wayne was very active with the youth of Springville. He served with his wife R'Teen in the Stake M Men and Gleaners for 10 years. He was active in the Scouting Program, where he earned his Eagle Scout and Silver Beaver Award. Wayne was happiest when he was in the service of others. He was currently serving as Director of the Springville Senior Citizen Center and tour guide for the center. Upon Wayne's wishes, he was cremated. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 31, 2005 at 11:00 a.m., at the Springcreek 5th Ward LDS Chapel, 850 East 200 North, Springville. Dangerfield, Layne Lucille Layne Lucille Hubbard Dangerfield passed away peacefully in Provo, Utah on Tuesday, December 27, 2005, at the age of 81. Layne was born June 24, 1924 in Baker, Montana and loved the outdoors. Layne was very talented musically playing the piano and violin. She loved singing and moved to Salt Lake City after graduating from high school to join the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. She met and married the love of her life, Sherman Hardy Dangerfield and they were married in the Salt Lake Temple on October 27, 1944. Some highlights of her life were traveling with the Tabernacle Choir on their first trip to Europe in 1955 as well as singing at the White House to President Eisenhower. Layne loved learning about everything. She enjoyed reading, medical research and family history. She will be well received by the many ancestors she only knew on paper; may we continue Her effort, turning our hearts to our Fathers. Her children remember her thoughtfulness and concern for her family as well as many others in the community. She will be missed by her children: Diane (Evan) Olson, Mesa, Arizona; Mark (Kathy) Dangerfield, Mesa, Arizona; Bruce (Meredith) Dangerfield, Green Bay, Wisconsin; and John (Taffy) Dangerfield, Springville, Utah; and by her stepmother, Irene Hubbard McAleer. Her husband, Sherman Hardy and beloved son, Sherman Paul (Lynell) Dangerfield, and her sister, Lorraine Erno preceded her in death. Her 28 grandchildren, including four serving full time missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and 20 great-grandchildren, will surely miss "Grandma Layne". Her beautiful alto voice is gone, but her spirit lives on for eternity. We love you mom! Disbrow died of natural causes on December 25, 2005. He was born on September 3, 1929, in Santa Monica, California, to Robert Disbrow & Edith Friend Disbrow. He married Janet Agenbroad on January 17, 1953. They were then sealed in the LDS Los Angeles temple on October 31, 1959. He is survived by his wife, Janet, 7 children, 27 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was a great husband and dad: he had the most beautiful happy eyes and a funny sense of humor. Ruth was born in Orem, Utah to Theodore and Joesphine (Snow) Salisbury on Sept 24, 1912. Ruth met and married Ralph W Dowding in Quartzite, Arizona in 1942. They made their home in Orem, Utah. Ruth is survived by her children: Rod (Carolyn) Dowding; Vicki (Dennis) Ash; Steven Dowding all of Orem, 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren and two brothers Ted and John Salisbury. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband and sister Portia Harris. Kirkham, Bodell Smith Bodell Smith Kirkham, 80, passed away Dec 27, 2005 at her home. She was born Feb 10, 1925 in Pocatello, Idaho to Alma Gibson Smith and Maud Bodell Jensen Smith. She married Dale Bruce Kirkham on May 29, 1950. They began a 55-year partnership establishing both a family and a business. Their small auto parts business, Dale's Auto Supply Co. grew to include salvage operations, equipment sales, and real estate development. She was an integral part of the enterprise and faithfully worked daily in the office with Dale and with her sons, Kirk and Rich until a few days prior to her death. She is survived by her husband Dale B. Kirkham, sons Dale B. "Kirk" (Jill) Kirkham Jr., Pocatello, Richard D. (Kathy) Kirkham, Pocatello and daughter Karol Bodell Kirkham (Scott) Stokes, Couer d'Alene, Idaho, 13 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, a brother, Gary Richard (Rita) Smith, Provo, Utah, sister-in law, Dona Parkinson, St. George, Utah, brothers-in law, Dean Kirkham, Lehi, Utah and Avery Kirkham, Twin Falls, Idaho, and numerous nieces and nephews. Lewis, Frederick Wesley Frederick Wesley Lewis, age 90, our devoted and loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away surrounded by family on December 27, 2005. He was born on July 6, 1915 in Park City, Utah to William J. Lewis and Ethel Rasband Lewis. He attended both Park City and Provo City Schools. He graduated from Provo High School and also attended Brigham Young University. During World War II, he served in the Pacific theater in Australia and New Guinea. He received several awards, including two Purple Hearts as well as the Combat Infantry Badge for exemplary conduct. Wesley married Stella Dixon on May 1, 1946 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were proud parents of two sons and two daughters. Stella preceded him in death in September of 2001. They resided in Provo until Wesley moved to Orem in 2002. Wesley worked for Huish Theater Enterprises, managing theaters in Gunnison, Helper, and Richfield, Utah for several years prior to his military service. After his honorable discharge from the U. S. Army, he was employed at Geneva Steel in the Accounting Department. Retirement from Geneva Steel was followed by a second profession in procurement at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City. Wesley was a devout member of the LDS Church. He served in various organizations including the Sunday School presidency, ward clerk, and assistant to the stake president on BYU campus. In his free time, Wesley enjoyed golf, bowling, singing, and was an avid reader. Following retirement, Wesley and Stella spent several years traveling throughout various parts of the world. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He showed much love and concern for his family and extended family. He was truly selfless and generous to all. Wesley is survived by his children: Fred (Patty) Lewis, Denver, CO; Steve Lewis, Palm Springs, CA; Lynn (Ken) Dahlberg, Orem UT; and Sandy (Lee) Stephenson, Provo UT; his brother Howard (Carol), Orem UT; his sisters: Beth Miller, Provo, UT; Barbara Scott, Salt Lake City, UT; and Carol (Stan) Moore, Orem, UT; and eighteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his other brothers and sisters, Wayne, Dean, Helen Pringle, and Clea Rawson. Pugh, Ralph Bailey Ralph Bailey Pugh, 82, passed away December 27, 2005, at the Utah Valley Hospital in Provo, Utah. He was born June 11, 1923, in Kanab, Utah, to Leonard Bailey and Lavina Swapp Pugh. He married Orpha DeLeeuw, June 14, 1952. They have been married for 53 years. Ralph served in the Army during World War 11. He worked for Mountain Bell Telephone Company as an installer & repairman. He retired after 32 years. He is survived by his wife, Orpha, one son, Leonard W. (Lurean) and two daughters, Marva Kay Pugh and Kenra Pugh, 3 grandsons, Jason (Hayley), Scott (Jennifer), Jeremy (Emily) and 5 great- grandchildren, Jessica, Morgan, Drake, Alex & Jaxen. Redden, Geraldine "Jerry" Geraldine (Jerry) Redden passed away on December 27, 2005 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on July 3, 1925 to Willis and Elizabeth Gardner Greenhalgh in Ruth, Nevada. She worked as a nurse, a waitress, and as a homemaker serving her family. She loved her work as a Senior Companion and was very involved in her community. Jerry enjoyed her association with VFW and the women's auxiliary. She was a devoted mother to her five children and loved being with her grandchildren. Jerry enjoyed going south in the winter, all family activities, fishing, and antique collecting. She loved her garden. A member of the LDS church, she is survived by her three sons and two daughters: Terry (Carol) Olsen, Spanish Fork; Melodie (David) Wood, Salem; Shaun (Vickie) Olsen, Pahrump, NV; Chet (Karen) Olsen, Benjamin; and Jerilynn (Dave) Bona, Springville. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands: Doug Olsen; Lynn Spainhower; and Jim Redden; her parents; and brothers: Berdell and Loynel Greenhalgh. Todd, Frank Charles Frank Charles Todd age 59 was called home unexpectedly on December 26, 2005 and is in the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Frank was born in Provo on April 20, 1946 to Frank and Margaret Todd. He graduated from Orem High School and went to college at Utah State University. From there he served in Korea for the U.S. Army. He retired from Geneva Steel and was currently employed by his dear friends at Rubber Technologies in Sandy. He married his best friend Jolene Smith in 1978 and raised his children in Pleasant Grove, Utah. He is survived by his wife and children: His "Special Buddy" Jimmy Smith, Denise (Shaun) Robinson, Gordy Smith, Frank C. Jr (Michelle) Todd, Tammy Gorecki, Jessica Carter, and his youngest son that Frank and Jolene had together, Tug D. Todd. His family will sure miss his kind and loving spirit.
