Jerald was born in Provo, Utah, May 26, 1939, to Howard and Fulvia Dixon. He attended BY High School and graduated from BYU. He married his beloved wife, Karen Haymond, in the Manti Temple May 2, 1963. His business career included time as a stockbroker, sales, investing, and real estate. Jerald was a long-time member of the Provo Rotarians. He enjoyed playing golf and loved to ski. However, of all his interests, he enjoyed spending time with his family the most. He was always outgoing and quickly became a friend to all. Jerald was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission in New Zealand and served faithfully in the church throughout his life. He had a strong testimony of the Savior, Jesus Christ. His family and friends will miss him dearly. Jerald is survived by his wife, Karen, his two daughters, Camille (Paul) Conrad, Diana (Kip) Elison, both of Springville and one son, Andrew (Shannon) Dixon, San Diego, CA; nine grandchildren, Megan, Emily, Aubrey and Nathan Conrad; Taylor, Joshua and Grace Elison; Madison and Audrey Dixon; his mother Fulvia Dixon Law, Provo; two brothers, H. Allen (Linda) Dixon, Pocatello, ID; Ken C. (Jan) Dixon, Las Vegas, NV; one sister, Janet (Mike) Rees, Orem. He was preceded in death by his father Howard B. Dixon, two infant sons, Matthew J. and H. Mark Dixon. Special thanks to all doctors and nursing staff in the IMC unit of the UVRMC. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 5, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. in the Sharon 1st Ward Chapel, 641 South 400 East, Orem. Herrod, Kimball G. 1970 ~ 2005 Kimball George Herrod, 34, died January 30, 2005 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was born September 4, 1970 in San Diego, CA to Dr. Niles W. and Janet Edmunds Herrod. He grew up in Provo, UT where he graduated from Timpview High School in 1989 and was an Eagle Scout. He served in the Oklahoma Tulsa Mission from 1989 - 1991. He attended Brigham Young University where he graduated with a degree in Economics and a Master of Business Administration. He worked as a healthcare consultant in El Segundo, CA from 1997 - 2003 and was working as a hospital administrator at Ogden Regional Medical Center at the time of his death. He married Catherine Parkinson on November 16, 1995 in the Salt Lake Temple. They are the parents of four children: Scott (7), Taylor (5), Matthew (3) and Elizabeth (9 months). He was a loving and adoring husband and father. He expressed his love to his wife and family each day and for that gift they are truly thankful. He was a wonderful son, brother, friend and colleague. Kimball was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His life was filled with service to others. He had a pure heart and a kind spirit. He was an example to all of faithfulness in keeping his covenants and in living the precepts of the Gospel. He is survived by his wife Catherine; children, Scott, Taylor, Matthew and Elizabeth; parents, Niles and Janet Herrod (Provo); siblings, Chris (Alia) Herrod, (Provo); Bret (Trisha) Herrod, (Denver, CO); Tami (Blair) Morgan, (St. Louis, MO), Jamilyn (Byron) Ward, (Dallas, TX); Catherine's parents, Alan and Christina Parkinson, (Provo); her sisters, Rebecca (Dan) Mudrick (Boston, MA); Emily (Bryan) Dunford (Pleasant Grove), Anne (Peter) Reichman, (Provo); and Melissa. Livingston, Juanita Juanita Livingston, age 86 of Springville, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2005 due to congestive heart failure. She was born August 27, 1918 in Shirley, Arkansas to James Jefferson Russell and Emma Catherine Hamilton. She married Perry Livingston February 14, 1952 in Chicago, Illinois. He preceded her in death April 21, 1977. Juanita was first and foremost a wife and mother who loved and served her family all the days of her life. She was a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints who loved feeding the missionaries, serving in many different capacities including Relief Society President, working in the temples, gathering together her family history and serving as a missionary in Canada. She was a true pioneer in every sense of the word and will be greatly missed by her family. She is survived by her children: Dennis LaFarlette, Shirley Jones, Paul Livingston, Sandra Ellis, Vicki Livingston and Susan Owens; 36 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild. One brother, Alfred Russell and three sisters Elsie Upton, Verna Strasacker and Eunisha Bills also survive her. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 5, 2005 at 11 a.m. in the LDS Chapel at 235 East 550 North in Springville, Utah. Guest Book Flowers Charities Pacheco, Mary Jessie Reyes MARY JESSIE REYES PACHECO Mary was born November 21, 1942 in El Paso, Texas. She passed this Tuesday, February 1, 2005. Mary was the ideal wife, mother and friend. She lived life honestly, selflessly and was always willing to help anyone in need. She loved her country, friends and family. She will be missed but her memory and legacy will live on in those that knew her. She is survived by her husband Mario of 41 years, four children and nine grandchildren. Rasmussen, Edith Edith Rasmussen, age 92, passed away February 2, 2005, of causes incident to age. She was born July 31, 1912 in St. George, Utah to Malcolm and Elizabeth Pymm. As a young girl, she moved with her family to Salt Lake City, attending the city schools and graduating from East High School. She married Lloyd A. Rasmussen May 30, 1936 in Salt Lake City. They lived in Salt Lake, and then Ogden, before moving to San Francisco so that Lloyd could pursue his career as an architect. Edith and Lloyd loved to travel. They went on many cruises and visited places such as Australia, Asia, Africa and China. They enjoyed several around-theworld cruises. Later, they spent entire summers in cities like Vienna, Rome, and Edith's favorite, Paris. Lloyd died in September of 1987, and soon after Edith moved to Provo. She continued her love of cruises here, with trips to Alaska, Central and South America, the Caribbean, the Panama Canal and the Mediterranean countries. Edith was a member of the LDS Church, and was sealed to Lloyd in the Provo Temple. She lived in her condo on North Canyon Road and enjoyed many friendships there. In early 2004 she moved to Cove Point Retirement Center and gained many friends there. More recently she has resided at East Lake Care Center and was treated with tender care. She was determined, strong-willed, and opinionated, but was also very generous and loving. She is survived by a niece Janice (Robert) Westover of Provo; and a nephew, J. Pymm (Judi) Chartrand of Auckland, New Zealand. Friends may call Sunday, February 6, 2005, from 6-8 p.m., at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center Street. Published in the Daily Herald on 2/4/2005. Strange, Jimmie Dern Jimmie Dern Strange Born 10/28/1941 Died 01/31/2005 Jim has gone fishing, this time he went alone. He is checking out the fishing spots so he will be ready for us when we see him again. Jim passed away in his favorite mountain place looking toward Strawberry. Jim served in the Navy after high school and graduated from Los Medanos College in California. He married Marie Stark and they were later divorced. He had one daughter, Chrisy, who was the light of his life. He moved to Utah to be closer to his family and married Charlene Hales. They were married 20 wonderful years. He was an avid outdoorsman and spent many hours fishing, hunting and camping with his best friend and brother-in-law Bob and Bob's family. This was his extended family and he loved them very much. He was self employed in Provo and was liked and respected by everyone he met. Jim shared everything he had and always seemed to know if you were in need. He will be missed by his lovely wife Charlene and grandson, Cody of Provo; his daughter, Chrisy and son-in-law Mike Courtney of Oakley, California; Stepfather Lee Mories of Spanish Fork, Stepdaughter Kristy Henderson, four Step-Grandchildren; and Stepson Randy Hales, all of Provo. Brothers and sisters: Richard (Sherry) Strange of Genola, Steven (Julie) Strange of Medford, Oregon, Clint (Denise) Strange of Logan, Pat (James) Moore of Orem, Dawna Strange of Provo, Janice (Bob) Shepherd of Spanish Fork. Two brothers preceded him in death: Jesse and John. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews who loved him very much. We would like to give special thanks to Aunt Roberta and Uncle Rich Vietor of California for all the love and time they gave to Jim and Chrisy while Chrisy was growing up. He couldn't have done it without them. Jim, we will miss your smile, your laugh, your big bear hugs and the love you gave all of us. There will be a sadly empty chair at all of our family gatherings.
