He was born February 2, 1927 in Central, Sevier County, Utah to Joshua and Della Roberts Barney, the 11th of 14 children. He married Helen Nielsen on January 2, 1947 in Tooele. Derell grew up in Central and attended schools there. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was stationed in the Aleutian Islands. After returning from the service, Derell married Helen and made their home in Pleasant Grove where they raised their three children. Derell worked for Geneva Steel and retired after 36 years of service. Derell loved music and enjoyed camping, fishing, and being in the outdoors. He could make anything grow, and enjoyed his flower gardens. His great love in life was for his family and looked forward to spending time with children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Helen of Pleasant Grove; three children: Joan (Wes) Smith, Orem; Terry (Marv) Erickson, Pleasant Grove and Kent (Linda) Barney, Lehi; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Additional survivors include siblings: Gladys Curtis, Zelpha Franks, Boyd Barney, and Madge Snow. Derell was preceded in death by his grandson, Cole Barney. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the Olpin Family Mortuary Chapel, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove where friends may call one hour prior to services. Carter Rick's life journey ended January 1, 2005 at the age of 45. Life long resident of Orem. Rick is survived by his loving wife; Eve, sons; CJ, Damian, and Erik, daughters; Michelle and Megan, and also, sister; Bonnie. A memorial service to honor Rick's life will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Victory Baptist Church, 300 S. 1200 W. Orem. Pastor Rick Roberson officiating. Dotson, Flora Belnap Flora Belnap Dotson ~ Together Again ~ Flora Belnap Dotson was reunited with her husband Carl on 30 December 2004. At the time of her passing she was 94 years old and was cared for in the home of her daughter, Renee Smith, in Springville. She was born in Moreland, Idaho on 24 October 1910 to Oliver and Anna Barbara (Leuenberger) Belnap. She married Carl Christopher Dotson on 10 February 1932 in the Salt Lake Temple and they lived in Pocatello, Idaho for the next 65 years. Carl passed away in June 1989. Flora was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings over the years, including a six-month mission in 1983 with her husband to the South Dakota Rapid City Mission. She also developed a great love for genealogy work and spent many hours doing research. In addition to her articles included in such publications as the Pace Society Bulletin and the Crook Clan Magazine, she was also known for her work regarding her grandparents in "An Analysis of the Pedigree of James McBride and Betsy Mead". Much of her research is included in the Salt Lake Family History Library. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four sisters (Lillie, Henrietta, Alice, and Olive), four half brothers (Oliver, Henry, Lester, and Wilford), three half sisters (Margaret, Hazel, and Isadora), daughter Joyce Tonks, son Carl C, son-in-law Marion Smith, and granddaughter Linn Hansen. She is survived by her daughter Renee, son Brian Dotson, son-in-law Garland Tonks, 16 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, and 19 great great-grandchildren. There will be viewing on Wednesday 5 January from 6-8 p.m. at the Wheeler Mortuary 211 E 200 S in Springville, Utah. Local funeral services will be on Thursday 6 January at 11 a.m. (with a viewing 1-hour prior) at the Hobble Creek West Stake Center located at 555 S 600 E (off Averett Ave) in Springville. Interment will be at the Groveland Cemetery in Groveland, Idaho. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that contributions be made to assist the victims of the recent tsunami in Southeast Asia. Goodell, Tina Elizabeth Tina Elizabeth Goodell July 19, 1973 - January 2, 2005 Our mother, companion, daughter, sister and friend returned to her Heavenly Father on January 2, 2005. Her loving spirit, cheerful smile and thoughtfulness will be missed most by her four beautiful daughters Shanta Marie, Alexis Ann, Brittany Lynn and Jordan Alicia Bishop. Tina married her best friend and companion Alicia (Alley) Madeline Case on November 14, 2001. Together they found a way to brighten their girls lives everyday. Tina loved life and lived it to the fullest each and everyday. Tina loved to be around her family and friends and anyone she came in contact with always felt loved by her. Tina is survived by her loving parents Glenn Gary Goodell and Mary Louis Goodell. She was a loving older sister to Angela Ruth (Peter), Joshua Wayne and Joseph Scott Goodell. Johnsen, Caleb Noel Caleb Noel Johnsen May 5 - December 31, 2004 Caleb Noel Johnsen was born May 5, 2004, in Provo, Utah, to Jordan Wyler and Alison Lowe Johnsen. He passed away Friday, December 31, 2004, in his mother's arms at Primary Children's Medical Center in Salt Lake City. Despite many complications with cancer treatment, Caleb was always a trooper. He was always ready with a smile and touched the lives of everyone who knew him. He will be fondly remembered by those who shared his life. Caleb is survived by his parents; and grandparents, David and Denise Johnsen, of Kaysville; and Steven and Patricia Lowe, of Farmington. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 5, 2005, at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 N.
