JAMES E. GAMMEL James E. Gammell, age 80, of Phoenix, Arizona, died Wednesday, January 5th, 2005 in Kingwood, Texas. He was born June 24, 1924, in Springville, Utah, the son of William E. Gammell and Grace (Gallup) Gammell. He married Elizabeth (Beth) Howe on February 14, 1951 at her home in Provo, Utah. He attended public schools in Provo and Orem Utah. He attended college at the University Of Washington and the Tarrant County Community College, Graduating with a Mid-Management Degree and also becoming a member of the "PHI THETA KAPPA" National Honor Fraternity. He served with the Civilian Conservation Corps in Utah and Idaho. During World War II he served in the Pacific Theater as an Infantryman and served in Vietnam in the Intelligence Field. He retired from the Army as a Sergeant Major on July 1, 1975. After retirement he became a partner in a Real Estate Company and later worked for the Better Business Bureau in Fort Worth, Texas as the Director of Arbitration. Upon moving to Phoenix, Arizona, he worked for the BBB as a membership representative. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; two children: David J. Gammell of Kingwood, Texas; Richard W. Gammell of Bay City, Texas; brother, George H. Vincent of Helendale, California; and sister: Marilyn Salisbury of Bountiful, Utah. In addition, there are four grandchildren. She was born in Palmyra, Utah on February 14, 1917 to Myrtle Bellows and Joseph Crump. She was the oldest of four children. She spent most of her life in Lake Shore, Utah where she received her education. She graduated from Spanish Fork High School. Myrl married Fay Huff November 4, 1936. From this union they had four children: Ralph J., Linda (deceased), Iris, and Wilma Fae (deceased). She was the best mom and grandma ever. Myrl loved picnics, fishing, doing handwork, and especially her family. She worked at different jobs, but she was really happy when she owned and operated her "Myrl's Craft and Hobbies Shop". Myrl was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served many church callings. She was involved in community activities. She was in three act plays and loved to make people laugh with her readings she gave. She is survived by one son, Ralph J. (Jeannie) Huff of Bountiful; one daughter, Iris (Roy) Davis of Roy; 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her two sisters, Ina Jo Pierce and Nona Kay Bishop; step-sisters, Anne, Vay, Beth, Ruth; and a step-brother, Allen Francis. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fay; daughters, Linda Carter and Wilma Fae Caras; sister, Hazel Badham; and several step-sisters and step-brothers. Viewing will be Sunday evening, January 9, 2005 at Walker Family Mortuary, 187 South Main, Spanish Fork, Utah from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 10, 2005 at the Lake Shore Ward Chapel, 5916 South 3200 West at 1 p.m. with a viewing from 12 to 12:45 p.m. prior to services. Interment will be at Spanish Fork City Cemetery. Thanks to everyone for your kindness and friendship throughout her life. Ivers, Beverly June Beverly June Harding Scott Ivers In loving memory of Beverly June Harding Scott Ivers, loving wife, mother, grandmother and dear friend, who passed away peacefully on January 6, 2005 at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo. She was born on June 13, 1926 in Provo, Utah to Claude and Eva Clara Clarke Harding. She was the eldest of three children, brothers include, Paul and Clark Harding. Beverly was baptized a member of the LDS Church at the age of 18. She attended Provo High School, where she participated in several sports programs. She later attended BYU for a short time. She married Jack Vincent Scott Sr. in 1950, they were married for 27 years, prior to his death in 1977. She resided in Provo where she met and married her old high school sweetheart, Harold W. Ivers. They married on July 21, 1997. Throughout her lifetime, she enjoyed working at the Provo Theatre, Granite Furniture, and then for First Security Bank, from where she retired after 20 years of service. She continued working for 7 years after retirement at R.C. Willey. Beverly is survived by her husband, Harold W. Ivers of Provo; a daughter, Ann Marie Robinson of Enterprise, UT; sons, Jack Vincent (Shellie) Scott Jr.; and Gregory H. (Kim) Scott; brothers, Paul (Sally) Harding and Clark (Kay) Harding; and 10 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 10, 2005, at 11:00 a.m., in the Pioneer 1st Ward LDS Chapel, 376 North 700 West, Provo. Johnson, Beth Madsen Urie Bell BETH MADSEN URIE BELL JOHNSON Beth Madsen Urie Bell Johnson of Provo passed away January 5, 2005 after a courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease. She was born April 11, 1915 in Goshen, Utah to Clifford LeRoy and Ruby Stevens Madsen. She spent her early childhood in Charleston, Utah, and has resided in Provo since 1942. Beth married D. Ross Urie and bore two sons: Ross M. Urie and J. Clifford Urie. Married Junius Wm. Bell and bore one daughter: Fairy Wanda Bell. Married Glen Johnson, later divorced. Beth was "Mom" to all her children's friends. The Provo High School Football team of 1953 enjoyed her homemade breads, jams, and cakes usually twice a week. Beth worked as a cook and chef for most of her career: cooking for Provo School Lunch, head chef at the private dining room at Geneva Steel, and working at Elliott's Cafe with her good friends Carl and Ann Elliott. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After retirement from Elliott's Caf , she lived with her daughter Fairy and helped raise Fairy's children and her great-grandchildren, becoming "Mom, Grandma, and G.G." to all who knew her. Beth is survived by her son Clif Urie and daughter Fairy Morehouse (Don), sister Wanda Chaiko (George), and sister Bonnie Newkirk, 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Ross Urie, sister Vyonne McClellan, and brother Keith Madsen. The family wants to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the wonderful care givers at the Art City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Springville, Utah. Oleson, died at 12:30 a.m. on January 5, 2005 at his home in Taylorsville, Utah. He was born to Elmer and Erma Oleson on September 30, 1944 at Gillman, Colorado. He grew up in Orem, Utah, and on April 11, 1968 he married Shirlene Ercanbrack. He is survived by his loving wife, Shirlene; son and daughter-in-law, Ryan and Becky Oleson of Allen, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Keli and Tim Andersen of Magna, Utah and three grandchildren, Brianna Oleson, T.J. ( Wiley) Reed 1947~2004 NEPHI/James Richard Reed, age 57, passed away January 6, 2005 in Provo,UT from injuries sustained in an industrial accident in Nephi, UT. He was born December 7, 1947 in Payson, Utah to James Waldon and Thelma Linton Reed. He married Carla Worwood October 8, 1971. They later divorced. He was raised in Nephi and graduated from Juab High School. He was then drafted and served in the Vietnam War. He worked construction for mostof his life throughout Utah and Nevada. He returned to Nephi to be with his beloved grandchildren. He enjoyed horse riding, hunting and loved the outdoors. Jim's favorite past time was spending as much time as possible with his grandchildren. He is survived by two daughters and one son, Stacy (Kevin) Snow; Shauna (Steven) Winter; James C. Reed; five grandchildren, Jadin, Jakota, Kassidy, Karlin and Kyla; his father, James Waldon Reed; two brothers,Gary Reed; Merrill (Jan) Reed all from Nephi, UT. Preceded in death by his mother. Valerio, Eduvigen Estella (Duby) Eduvigen (Duby) Estella Valerio Eduvigen (Duby) Estella Valerio, age 76 of Santaquin, Utah, passed away Thursday, December 6, 2004 after an extended illness. She was surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 21, 1928, in Rosa, New Mexico to Jose A. and Leonarda Lopez Corrales. Duby was an energetic, strong, independent woman, full of optimism anddedicated to her family and faith. She was a member of San Andres Catholic Church in Payson. A caretaker to all, selfless, very loving woman who adored all her nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as they did her. She will be greatly missed. Duby is preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, CrestinoValerio; brothers, Katano and Jose L. Corrales; sisters, Juanita and Ruffio; and grandsons, Garrett Wilson and Curtis Banks. She is survived by: her children, Antonio (Carla) Valerio, Santaquin; Judy Mangum, Huntington; Edward (Susan) Frushour, Denver, Colorado; Cindy (Patrick) Mahoney, Davis, California; Steven Marquez, Colusa, California and Dubie (Ronald) Lillie, of Ogden; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by ten step-children, Christino (Lucy) Valerio, Jr. Salt Lake City; Selina (Manuel) Rodriquez, Linda (Lee) Castonia and Juanita (Don) Petit, all of Seattle, Washington; Trudy Lucero, Aberdeen, Idaho; Joe Valerio, Provo; Irene (Billie) Trujillo and Gloria Romero, all of Salt Lake City; Carol (Eli) Renteria, Orem and Tom (Jody) Valerio, of Delta, Utah. Also a sister, Lenore (Anselmo) Martinez, Ignacio, Colorado; a brother, John (Phyllis) Corrales, San Clemente, California; a sister-in-law, Cleo Corrales, of Provo. The family would like to express gratitude and thanks to all the ICUcaregivers at Mtn. Views Hospital for their loving care and patience duringher month long stay there.
