Devey 1917 ~ Ranald Healey Devey, our beloved father and grandfather, passed away January 10, 2005 in Alpine, Utah surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 24, 1917 in Alpine to Earl Marsh and Velma Strong Devey. He married Rose Marie Adamson on May 12, 1938 in the Salt Lake Temple. After 55 years of marriage, Rose passed away on December 19, 1993. Later he married Mary Louise Pence on September 15, 1995 in the Provo Temple. Ranald was a life-long resident of Alpine and was influential in many civic affairs including Alpine City Council, President of the Irrigation Company, the Alpine Lions Club and served as a volunteer for the Alpine Fire Department for many years. He was a faithful member of the LDS church and served in various positions his entire life. Ranald worked for 35 years in Geneva's Open Hearth. He also maintained a large fruit orchard for most of his life. His many hobbies included traveling, fishing, making jewelry (which he was happy to give to those he loved.) He is survived by his wife Mary Louise Pence Devey, and six children: Richard and Marilyn Devey of Lindon, Dorothy and Ken McClure, Sherry and Gary Boren and Scott and Cindy Marlin all of Alpine, Larry and Kathy Devey of Lehi, and Steve and LaraLee Conran of Half Moon Bay, California. He has 23 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers: Wallace and Dave Devey, and sisters Afton Burgess and Marilyn Turner. He was preceded in death by his brother Don Devey. He is also survived by The Pence family including Jerry and Gayle, Mike and Renee, Steve and Kristie, Gary and Debbie, and Rick and Kris Pence. He was also proud to be the grandfather to 25 step-grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren in the Pence family. The family would like to extend our love and appreciation to Alpine Hospice for the loving care extended to our father. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 13, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the Mountainville 2nd LDS Ward Chapel, 165 North 100 East, Alpine, Utah. Family and friends may call Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Warenski Funeral Home, 1776 North 900 East, (located four blocks north of the Mt. Timpanogos Temple), American Fork, Utah and at the church, Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to services. Interment will take place at the Alpine City Cemetery. Published in the Daily Herald on 1/12/2005. Brown, Mildred G. Mildred Polly Greenwood Brown, 86, died January 8, 2005. On June 14, 1918, Millie was born to Thomas Abram and Mary Abigail Losee Greenwood in American Fork. She married George Easton Brown, November 27, 1945 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was an active member of the LDS Church and served faithfully in many callings. She attended BYU. Millie and Easton raised Arabian horses. They were active in the Postmaster's Assoc., Jaycees, Chamber of Commerce, National Guard, V.F.W. and Utah Arabian Horse Club. She had a positive attitude and provided constant love and support to family and friends. She was a gracious person with a kind word for all. She is survived by a son, George Easton Brown, Jr. (Dianne), American Fork; a daughter, Susan (Kayl) Smith, Alpine Utah; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and sister, Dorothy (Douglas) Strong, Reno, Nevada. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Delbert (Maxine) Greenwood; David (Glenda) Greenwood; a sister, Lucille (David) Grant; and a daughter-in-law, Pamela Boice Brown. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 14, 2005, at 11 a.m. in the American Fork 18th Ward, 381 South 300 East. Friends may call Thursday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 E 100 N, American Fork and at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 am prior to services. Cameron, Elizabeth Betty Elizabeth "Betty" Cameron, 83, of Orem, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 9, 2005 and slipped into the loving arms of our Savior and His Blessed Mother. Betty was born on March 25, 1921 in Scotland to Patrick and Catherine Andrews. When Betty was just 3 years old, she traveled with her parents to America. In New York, Betty met and fell in love with Henry Cameron, a young Scot serving with the British Merchant Marines. They married in 1947 and thoroughly enjoyed their almost 58 years together. Betty dedicated many years of service to her home parish in Netcong, New Jersey and was a devout Roman Catholic who lovingly said the Rosary 3 times a day. Betty and Henry were blessed with two children, Sarah and James. Betty loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. And, all those close to Betty knew how much she loved bingo! Betty is survived by her loving husband Henry and her daughter Sarah (Karl) Wurzbach of Orem, her son James (Sherry) Cameron of Califon, New Jersey and her grandchildren Scott Wurzbach, Andrew Wurzbach, Emma-Leigh Cameron and Ryleigh Cameron. Visitation service will be held from 6 - 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 12, 2005 at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, 65 East 500 North, Orem, followed by the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 13, 2005 at St. Francis. LeBaron, Jaden James Ashman Jaden James Ashman LeBaron was born at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center Friday, January 7, 2005. Our precious little boy stayed with us for one short day. We will miss your cars, trucks, boats and the kisses we would have shared. We love you so much! Until we meet again, love mom and dad. Jaden's parents are Ryan G. LeBaron and Tayva Ann Ashman; grandparents are Deanne Carlston, George LeBaron, and James and Melody Ashman. We extend our gratitude to UVRMC newborn ICU for that they did to help Jaden. McCausland, Ardena Sorensen Ardena Sorensen McCausland of Spanish Fork, Utah, on Monday, January 10, 2005, passed away peacefully in the Mountain View Hospital in Payson. She was born on November 5, 1916 in Palmyra, Utah to James Sorensen, Jr. and Effie Nelson Sorensen. Ardena was the sixth of their 12 children: Harriet, Mary, James, Wallace, Katharine, Frank, Mildred, Marion, Beth, Florence and Pauline. She is survived by Beth and Florence of West Jordon, and Pauline of Palmyra. Ardena was preceded in passing by William Arthur McCausland to whom she was married in 1950 and was later sealed to. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Lois (Earl) Ludvigson and daughter-in-law Bonna McCausland. She is survived by her youngest daughter, Marlene (Stephen) Skinner of Logan; and her two sons, William F. (Arlette) McCausland, and Calvin W. (Linda) McCausland, both of Springville; fourteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was employed for over 59 years in Spanish Fork where she worked for RL Jex, Christensen's, and KMA stores. Over the many years she became acquainted with most of the residents of the city. Ardena loved to travel and in recent years with her children, sisters or friends visited Western Europe, Russia, the Holy Land, Egypt, Japan, Okinawa, Alaska and Hawaii. And, at age 82 she went white water rafting on the Colorado River with grandsons Trent and Scott McCausland, her son Bill, her daughter Marlene, and their families. For the past many years and much to Ardena's delight her children and their families congregated at her home every Sunday evening. She was a life long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many different callings and her favorite calling was with the primary children where she served for very many years. Her life was filled with the love of service for her family, extended family, friends, and all with whom she became acquainted. She is dearly loved by each and every member of her family and always will be. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2004 at 12 noon in the Spanish Fork LDS 19th Ward Chapel, 585 North Main. Roush, Matthew Bruce Matthew Bruce Roush, 41, died suddenly January 8, 2005 in Cancun, Mexico of a heart attack. He was born on October 21, 1963 in Ogden, Utah to Robert R. and Jerrilyn K. Roush. Matt was raised in Ogden, graduating from Bonneville High School in 1982. He was the Seminary Student Body President, First Team All-State Defensive End in Football, and the State Sterling Scholar in Science. Matt served an honorable mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Guatemala. While attending Brigham Young University he was a member of the BYU football team. After his graduation from BYU in 1987 he attended medical school at the University of Utah graduating in 1991. He completed a three year residency in family practice in Phoenix, Arizona. Matt combined his love of sports and medicine by completing a Fellowship in Sports Medicine at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana in 1995. After his medical training, he took a position as co-director of the fellowship in Muncie. He loved working with all of his patients in his Family and Sports Medicine clinic during the eight years he practiced in Indiana. As much as he loved medicine, his heart was always with his family. He married his wife of eighteen years, Tiffany Ann Barlow on August 7, 1986 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were blessed with six wonderful children. They resided in Muncie, IN from 1994 until 2003. They moved to Provo, UT one year ago where he has been the Sports Medicine Fellowship Director at Utah Valley Sports Medicine and a Sports Doctor for BYU and UVSC. Matt's other great love was service in his church; including the young men's program, the bishopric, the high council and a home teacher. His favorite church calling was that of a teacher, especially with the young men, where he served in various capacities and was a great leader and example. Matt had a passion for missionary work and loved to talk about the gospel wherever he went. He approached everything he did with his full heart and intensity. He loved people and he loved life. He left his children and all those associated with him a noble legacy. At the time of his death, Matt had brought his family back home to Utah, was serving his beloved BYU and had even watched the Red Sox win the World Series. He is survived by his wife, Tiffany; his six children, Benjamin, 16, Eli, 14, Caleb, 11, Madison, 8, Brittany, 5, and Samuel, 18 months; parents, Robert and Jerrilyn Roush; siblings, Timothy R. Roush (Laura) of Rochester Hills, MI, Kimberly R. Shields (Scott) of Mesa, AZ, and Andrew G. Roush (Jennifer) of Syracuse, UT; Tiffany's parents, Myron and Nancy Barlow; his grandmother, Geraldine K. Gunn of Highland, UT; and by many loving uncles, aunts, and cousins. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 15, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Provo Edgemont Stake Center, 303 West 3700 North, Provo, Utah. Friends may call at the Stake Center Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. as well as Saturday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m., prior to the services. Published in the Daily Herald on 1/12/2005. Smith, Forrest Lynn Forrest Lynn Smith, 71, died January 11, 2005 in Payson. He was born April 3, 1933 in Santaquin to Fred and Mary Ewell Smith. He married Wrenna Merrill September 1, 1951 in Orem. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple April 7, 1989. Forrest worked for Western Pacific Railroad for 21 years and for Backman Foundry in Provo for 19 years. He also owned his own lawnmower repair shop for many years. He is survived by his wife, children, Clark (Judy) Smith, Mission Viejo, California, Dawnalyn (Ronald) Hall, Payson, Virginia (Stanley) Robbins, Santaquin, Christine (Shane) Patten, Payson, Roger (Dana) Smith, Orem, Steven (Traci) Smith, Santaquin; 21 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Leah (Blaine) Thomas, Spanish Fork, Bernita Fields and Merelda Davis, Santaquin. He was preceded in death by siblings, Joseph, Anne, William, Mildred, Martha, LaRue, Richard, Ted, Patricia and Colleen. Funeral services will be Friday, January 14th at 1:00 p.m. in the Santaquin 3rd Ward, 90 South 200 East.
